Google
I hate that I have to write this review because we love this place but...My boyfriend ordered a bowl paid extra for avocado which ended up being rotten. He didn’t want to complain but this is unacceptable and gross, especially since one of the employees was screaming about how they were out of avocado to one of their friends who was a customer, which clearly meant they were aware that this avocados were bad but proceeded to still use them. :( we love this place and my chicken burrito was really good, but today we’re so disappointed.

Google
This place is delicious! I recommend the delectable açai and chicken bowl. They were both very filling and you felt clean eating it too. The staff is very quick and friendly.

Google
The most amazing smoothie bowl hands down!!! I’m upset there isn’t a location in North Carolina. Bathroom was spacious and clean

Google
Absolutely loved the variety and customisation flexibility here! Special shoutout to all the servers who were here at this outlet when we visited at 1PM on a Tuesday today, who were so sweet and patient to take 3 of our build your own bowl customisation orders manually at the counter, as we didn’t bring a physical card to order at the self-service kiosk :”) the servers were all so sweet, and the 2x build your own poke bowl and 1x build your own acai bowl we ordered tasted so hearty and delicious too! would definitely recommend the tofu as a great vegetarian protein option. Will surely revisit again! ☺️

Google
I often do the BYOB or “The OG” and add a lot of toppings. Very very delicious and they’ve never done me wrong with the amount of ingredients added. My bowl has always been filled to the the brim. For those who don’t like fish/seafood definitely try the Hot and Spicy Chicken as your protein!I’ve tried the smoothies many times but the consistency is always too thick for my taste & makes it difficult to drink. What bumped this review a star is the customer service. There are a few employees who I would give five stars for their amazing customer service for a majority of the times it’s the bare minimum. I think the customer service at this place in general can be improved through training and some very simple suggestions. I feel it’s not a big priority here but I’m sure it would make a very positive impact if it’s given more focus.

Google
The prices are bit up there initially but the açaí bowl I ordered ended up being larger than expected and was bigger than most other bowl places I’ve been. What was impressive was the speed at which the bowl was made. It’s not uncommon for a bowl to take 15-20 min to make elsewhere but they had my bowl to me in less than 7! The fruit and ingredients were fresh and tasty.

Angie

Google
The food was great and the smoothie delicious! I got the OG with tuna and rice, I enjoyed the taste but the only reason I knocked it down a star is because I found a hair inside of the bow. Kind of turned me off from finishing the remaining food. I wish that didn’t happen because it was super delicious otherwise. 😕

Google
Small juice bar with sandwiches. The juice combinations are good and the products are fresh and cold which was great on a hot day. It was fairly busy, but not many people in the store. It is located on King Street in the major shopping area. Not much in the way of health precautions with respect to making our distancing with the customers. Would definitely stop here again for a cold juice when in Charleston again.

Yelp
Best poke lunch with sweet and sour chicken and zucchini noodles. Love this place for healthy lunches! Staff is friendly too. They also make really good coffee lattes, my favorite is the vanilla latte iced!

Yelp
I came in on a Saturday morning looking for healthy food and coffee. The original "OG" poke bowl with salmon and spring mix was delicious and fresh. I also got the iced double lavender honey latte with oat milk, which the server told me was the most popular coffee drink. Delicious and sweet (but not too sweet). I enjoyed by food by the window. It's very relaxing inside and I felt like I could sit for as long as I wanted. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
First time visiting and I don't get the hype. It was very busy with lots of people ordering bowls, smoothies, and juices. I really enjoyed the juice we got but can't believe the cost for a pre-bottled juice. We ordered at the kiosk on the wall because the lines were long and waited for about fifteen minutes for our juice. When we finally asked, they said we could grab the pre-bottled one from the cooler by the register. Was just expecting a little something different. It was very tasty and refreshing and clearly a lot of people really like it... just not sure and may have to try something different next time.

Yelp
Visiting Charleston, my wife and I looked for a place downtown to eat dinner. Because we arrived on a Monday, many eateries were closed. However, we found Beech open and meeting our need for vegetarian options. Fortunately we found street parking just a short distance down from the shop on King Street. My wife ordered the hummus black bean wrap and enjoyed the flavors and locally made wrap. I chose the "build your own" Poke bowl. For the protein, I chose the raw salmon, brown rice as my base, and all the free toppings and garnish. The ginger and spicy mayo sauces and Macadamia nuts were on the side. Not only did my bowl look lovely, but was very satisfyingly tasty. The shop also offers cold brew on tap that I ordered with vanilla and almond milk for no extra charge. I enjoyed the smooth taste of the coffee. The employees' service was good, accurate, and helpful. You can order from either the screen Ny the wall menu or at the register area. The store contains some cushioned furniture up front and two high tables along the opposite side of the food area. The place was clean. Origins: Two brothers dreamt "of serving their community through healthy yet fast foods...(They) are focused on delivering a fast, healthy menu based on the pillars of a balanced diet: fruit, fish, rice, and vegetables."

Kelly L.

Yelp
Got the poke bowl. Customized it a little with the iPad on the wall. Was a perfect afternoon lunch after walking all morning. The long tables were able to accommodate our group. Food was ready quickly and we appreciated the ability to pay separately.

Marleigh B.

Yelp
It was very good and the worker was bright. The venue was nice too. I was excited to see that the had zucchini noodles as a base option!
google avatar

Gabby A.

Yelp
this place was GREAT! I was there with one other person and both of us got build-your-own poke bowls. We are both vegetarian and they subtract $3 for not getting a protein which was a huge win! The food was delicious and made quickly. I have to mention that the service was spectacular, as well. They mentioned us by name and gave us a free smoothie! Definitely recommend this place if you're in Charleston!

Yelp
Granola tastes like old granola from grammas pantry. The açaí base had a old freezer taste

Yelp
I stopped on my wait at the Apple Store. The service was quick, and everyone was friendly. I ordered a custom bowl with chicken. The chicken wasn't real chicken. It was like the Tyson grilled strips you get out of a bag, which was very off-putting. I want to go back and try other things, but I was underwhelmed with my bowl and meat quality.
google avatar

Yelp
Disclaimer, I'm a vegetarian with an egg allergy, so I'm reviewing from that perspective and YMMV. I came in with a couple of friends while on vacation and waiting for others' flights to arrive so we could group up (and we got hungry). I got an avocado toast and the Beech Juice, and I actually really liked the juice! The avocado toast was really just okay, but I felt they went a little heavy on the red pepper flakes and light on the avocado (and the avocado was also noticeably oxidized, and yes I'm kinda picky about my avocados, sorry). The bread was fine, but also nothing to write home about. My husband (an omnivore) got one of the acai bowls with coconut flakes and liked it, although he could have done with more coconut flakes. (To be fair, he does like a LOT of coconut flakes!) Other friends also really liked their acai bowls, so I think if I were to come back, I'd stick to the juices and acai bowls.

Yelp
I think we ate here 3x during our stay in Charleston! Sooooooo goooooooddddd! Loved the acai bowls and the poke bowls!! Also, great service!!!

Yelp
My daughter wishes she could give this place a 10 star review! She accidentally ordered the wrong bowl and they gave her another one without hesitation. Great customer service and excellent quality of food. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We're in Charleston celebrating my niece's birthday. As we were walking around yesterday she noticed Beech's, asked what açaí bowls were and asked to go to breakfast there this morning so she could try it. She is a picky eater but I told her that she would have to be willing to try new things as much as we'd have to eat out this trip. She got the Nutella açaí bowl and loved it. She has talked all day about how good it tasted and how well the flavors mixed together. I got the breakfast wrap/burrito. It was ok. I wasn't expecting the eggs to be hard boiled but thought it would be like most breakfast burritos with everything mixed together. It was more of something I'd have chosen for lunch. However, after we sat down I heard the manager telling other customers that the breakfast menu was very new and they were working out all the kinks. That's fair & I appreciate a business being open about that. Additionally, the customer service was great. I'm pretty sure we'll be back for another bowl before we leave!

Yelp
Amazing place for a quick lunch! It's quick, efficient, great selection and friendly staff. I got a poke bowl which was fantastic and my partner got vegan bean wrap. Both meals were really good. We also got green and pink smoothies that were good as well. Very good place! Clean and pleasant, and amazing location, many places to seat.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by for a refreshing smoothie and a break from the heat outside. I had the Sperry Berry! They were fairly busy but my order was ready within a few minutes. There is plenty of seating inside. I was surprised to see they sold Delta 8 products!
google avatar

Pete D.

Yelp
We really liked our açaí bowls, poke bowls and smoothies. Our experience here was good enough to result in kids asking if we were going to come back to eat here again in the future. Like that they have vegan options on the menu board though they aren't labeled and I had to ask what was/was not vegan.
google avatar

Yelp
Smoothie, wraps, salads, bowls restaurant conveniently located in the heart of King Street. Great place for lunch because they take the order and have food out in less than 5 mins. Order the hummus wrap too!
google avatar

Hadiyah S.

Yelp
They make the best açaí bowl I ever tasted. Their ingredients are really fresh. And the sweet staff members were the icing on the cake. I am so grateful for their service.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, and great food. They were very accommodating for our guest that has gluten free needs. Very polite staff that was incredibly aware of the menu and had great suggestions. Fast service and fun place to eat! Will definitely be going back.
google avatar

Yelp
Great healthy option for a quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner in Charleston! They offer plenty of options such as smoothies, juices, poke bowls, açaí bowls, salads and some bagels/toast. Plenty of seating inside with a welcoming atmosphere. The food/drinks came out very quick, the staff were very personable and everything was delicious! We started off with the "Green One" and "Sperry Berry" and added some vanilla protein powder to both. Both were very good! Decided we were a bit more hungry than we thought and ordered some Poke Bowls (Chicken Bowl and build your own poke bowl). Very fresh, lots of topping options and great flavors! If you're looking for a healthy option that has great service, is quick, and delicious, this is the place!

Sarah M.

Yelp
Admittedly yummy, but the serving size is tiny for FIFTEEN dollars (poke bowl). It's good and I will go back but only for a splurge.

Yelp
I would give Beech 10 stars if it were an option! Went there with my grandson and daughter. Not only were the poke bowls yummy ( she had salmon, I had tofu), but the service was incredible! We asked for a banana for my grandson while our bowls were being made. The owner offered to cut it up, brought half so he could start eating, then the other half in a bowl with a lid! We both had the OG poke bowl and both subbed the ginger dressing for the mayo. Very fresh and ripe avocado, rice cooked just right for a bowl, i.e. with some stickiness. The pickled cucumbers were great! Also, since I have celiac disease, I was pleased that most everything is gluten free! This will be my go to lunch stop on King!

Gabe A.

Yelp
Sat and worked here for a few hours before heading to the airport. What an awesome place. Staff were so welcoming and athentive. Everything was delicious. Got the Beech Bowl, Avié Monkey, and a Poke Bowl. All were fantastic. With vegetarian options somewhat limited in Charleston I was super happy to find this place.

Yelp
Best chicken salad wrap this side of the mississippi! Dan goes the extra mile for his customers!
google avatar

Yelp
Super friendly staff, clean, quick service. Tried the basil sunshine and it was delicious on the hot and humid afternoon here in Charleston. The bowls looked good and I'd definitely return to try one. Highly recommend a visit.

Yelp
Was looking for an acai bowl and Beech popped up. They were about to close so I had to get there quick to order a bowl! I ended up ordering the Delecta-bowl as a recommendation from the staff. I changed my mind a few times because everything looked amazing. I added almond butter and got it to go. It was delicious and different than any bowl I've had before. I liked how finely the fruit was chopped up and the ratio was perfect of acai, fruit, almond butter, and granola. I wish there was a Beech near me!!
google avatar

Mason R.

Yelp
Do you like açaí bowls? Stop searching. Go to Beech. I've been at the King st location as well as the Daniel island location. Both crush it with the same quality without fail. My wife and I were once frequenting the king st one once a week (don't worry we were walking around the battery dreaming of what some of insides of those mansions must look like) and the perfect snack after or during a hot walk around downtown CHS is a Beech Açaí bowl. My go to - Delecta bowl (plus add raspberries). The fruit is consistently fresh and the açaí is a frozen blend - almost like a sorbet rather than a thickened smoothie consistency which I was used to when I lived in Hawaii. Initially, I wasn't sure how I liked the change in açaí but once you walk out the door into that 90degree 100% humidity weather, you'll be happy it's a little more on the frozen side! They also have food - I'm allergic to fish so I try and stay away from eating poke. I unfortunately cannot offer any advice outside of their açaí!

Yelp
Extremely disappointed. The Poke Original OG came with chicken and rice only. I paid extra for avocado (which was my fault I guess because it's supposed to come with it) and edamame. There was literally nothing else. No pickled cucumber or scallions or sesame seeds or the spicy Mayo. Two ingredients were included and then two I paid extra for. The hot and sour chicken it comes with is also off. Frozen and pre sliced? Brown and chewy dark meat that was fatty. This was $15 too. The chicken salad is just chicken with lettuce and tomato on the side. (This may be my fault that I thought it was an actual "chicken salad". This chicken again is frozen pre sliced wet fatty oddly colored meat with a horrible texture. Recently defrosted especially for me. I got the wrap and the salad both with chicken and it took me 5 seconds to realize that it was a mistake. It's expensive too, is it too difficult to prepare legit chicken? My total order from Uber came to $75. The bagel with hummus and tomato and cream cheese was bland, but not horrible. The fruit bowl with granola was good. I'm sorry I'm one of those people that post only when they are upset, but come on..this is really disappointing.

Yelp
very very good service with excellent and fresh food. fun place to hang out and eat well and healthy too.

Yelp
My fave place in Charleston to get acai bowls. I frequent the Daniel Island location more than King Street, although I did have Beech for the first time at the King Street location. I love the seating set up on the inside and the wall art is awesome. Staff is very kind and helpful. The acai bowls are bomb. The coffee is super good, too! I've only ever gotten a poke bowl once because I'm a creature of habit, and can hardly bade to stray away from the BAB bowl + pineapple, blueberries, chia seeds, and coconut flakes. Try it and thank me later.
google avatar

Melinda J.

Yelp
Yummy, quick, and easy ordering options. The ingredients always taste fresh, and the staff are also super nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here b/c I was looking for something on the healthy side. Perfect spot. I got the Acai bowl and it was fresh, tasty, and delicious! I tried my friends poke bowl and I also enjoyed that. Come here if you want a healthy fix!
google avatar

Madison K.

Yelp
Beech is one of the best places to get an açaí bowl in Charleston! My personal favorite is the B.A.B bowl. They're almond butter is to die for! They also have delicious juices which are usually juiced fresh every day. Perfect little spot to grab a bowl and relax on king!
google avatar

Debra R.

Yelp
Oh my gosh! I'm so sad I do not live in Charleston so I could go to this restaurant. I had so much and brought some back to my hotel room. It's a rather small space (downtown King St). You order and your name is called. There is a small sitting area with a sofa and a couple chairs but a long high table fills in the length of the shop. I had an Açaí Bowl and it was awesome. It was gluten free despite having crunchy granola. They did make a mistake and mine came with peanut butter but it was excellent. The fruit was chopped up in small pieces and you could chose which. They had mango, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and pineapple. Coconut and Honey can be added too. The açaí I've bought is somewhat sour. This was not sour and was a wonderful refreshing base (it's frozen and somewhat creamy). Sooo good. I had a green juice. It came in a jar with a cover. It was a great way to save some for the morning or just drink a little at a time. I took out a huge salad. There was enough chicken salad on it for 3 sandwiches. They have Kombucha on tap and in bottles. This place is great and I struggled to get there despite the difficulty parking.
google avatar

Olivia R.

Yelp
This place is seriously amazing. I love coming here and getting juice, an açaí bowl, or poke bowl. I came in today because I needed a spot to do my online classes. I knew it was an inconvenience but the staff was INCREDIBLY accommodating. Making a spot for me and being so welcoming. The staff told me to make myself at home and even turned down the music without me asking. As a student the world is kinda crazy right now, and this was above and beyond. Thank you to the staff of Beech! Highly recommend this place to anyone.
google avatar

Songyi W.

Yelp
The best acai bowl I've had in awhile. It's filing, fresh, full of topping. I got the Beech Bowl, which came with berries, banana, pineapple, granola, honey (I added peanut butter). It's not cheap, but I would say that it's a nice meal alternative if you want to be occasionally healthy :)

Allie H.

Yelp
The beech bowl is the most amazing açaí bowl I have ever had im obsessed! Definite must on king street
google avatar

Daniela Z.

Yelp
Good for a healthy lunch spot! I got the salmon poke and next time will remember to ask for half the amount of sauce because it was more than I prefer. But the salmon tasted good and fresh and I got a nice spot by the window to people watch as I ate my poke bowl!
google avatar

Kaelin C.

Yelp
My go-to when shopping on king. I love their smoothies- I don't think I've ever tried their juices(?). I like to change what I order up every time and the ones I've had have all been delicious. I look forward to stopping in every year!
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Fresh off the plane I needed nourishment. My niece suggested we swing by here because they had açaí bowls and those are my favorite. Upon entering they had a hug hug of hand sanitizer however it was horrible, super sticky and made my hands feel worse. But anywho, I got the PBNA. Keeping it simple. They definitely added way too much peanut butter and honey so it was a bit difficult to get through, but I made it happen. The chicken in the bowl was hot and I'm guessing that's not what my niece expected but she ate it anyway. I would revisit this spot and provide some directives for my food next time.
google avatar

Jackie S.

Yelp
If you're looking for a healthy break from all the fried food in Charleston, you have to pop in this place! The dreaming green juice is SO delicious and service is super friendly. When my juice was not ready ice cold today, I was treated to a colder one - which I really appreciated. I'll be back!
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
I love Poke bowls with a passion and I have tried most of the place in town that offer them. This was my second time in Beech, and just like the first time; it was OK but not amazing. The toppings on a poke bowl are limited to a handful and then the edamame and avocado come at an extra charge of 50cents and 1 dollar respectively. having been to so many poke places; I find this kind of unusual because those are usually my to-go included toppings. The fish is good and I like the fact that you can mix up your base, so you can do a half portion of rice and a half portion of kale/ zucchini noodles to lighten up the carbs. Overall is a decent option for the location; but they need to step up their game to compete with the much more solid Poke places in Charleston.
google avatar

Demetria M.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, I have been trying to get to this place since the summer and for some reason I have been blindly walking pass them and didn't even realize it, but I finally made it by shortly after they opened and ordered the Beech bowl(strawberries, pineapple, blueberries, banana, granola, acai, and raw honey) with almond butter and it was amazing, refreshing, and filling. They have nice comfy chairs to kick back in while you wait or you can sit for bit and people watch like I did. They have acai bowls, juices, smoothies, poke bowls, wraps, salads, sandwiches, and coffee...............I know, a lot going on but I'm a fan.
google avatar

Polina W.

Yelp
Like most places on King Street, the restaurant was packed the entire time I was here. That can make seating a bit harder, especially if you have kids or need a high chair. They offer smoothies, juices, poke bowls...just imagine college students, people who are trying to be "healthy" by getting fresh juices to cleanse themselves, even though weekends are full of drinking, and tourists visiting this spot. I don't think this place would ever have a slow day. This is the first place I've had a poke bowl where there is no limit on toppings. They also don't offer an unlimited selection of toppings, so I think that has something to do with it. I had pretty much every topping except the seaweed salad and fried onion. My favorites were the fruits. I didn't like the sauce selection, so I actually didn't use it. Of the four sauces, two are spicy and two aren't.
google avatar

Opal D.

Yelp
I got a really tasty smoothie at Beech yesterday! I can't wait to come back for a poke bowl. Love this menu, staff were friendly, store was clean.
google avatar

Logan S.

Yelp
Beech is your typical "healthy" food place serving açaí bowls, avocado toast, coffee, and interestingly poke bowls. My girlfriend and I ordered a smoothie, avocado toast, and a poke bowl. The avocado toast was insanely good and looked even better - it was extremely well prepared (honestly it was so good I forgot to photograph it). The smoothie was okay, but didn't even blend all the way down (big chunks left in it). The poke bowl was good, but I've had significantly better poke bowls elsewhere. The fish was plentiful in the bowl which was awesome, but the flavors that they provide are a bit odd for poke. They are missing some major poke staples like masago and seaweed salad. The coffee was insanely good - drip, black. The flavor was amazing! Overall, it was great - but left a few flavors to be desired. Solid spot to grab a coffee and do some work.

Yelp
Such a refreshing healthy stop in Charleston! The shop has very mellow vibes with the menu on a giant chalkboard wall. I think prices are pretty aligned with most healthy smoothie/food shops you'd go to. we had the sperry berry and avie monkey smoothies, tuna poke bowl, and a black bean hummus wrap. The smoothies were absolutely delicious and feel-good. The poke bowl was equally delicious, but pretty standard IMO. The wrap was not something I would try again, but that's just my preference due to the black bean hummus texture (just seemed to be mashed black beans vs being a hummus?) overall, it was a little over $40 I believe...and was well worth it after all of the rich/greasy/fattening food I had all weekend. Would definitely recommend and come back!! I want to try the açaí bowls!
google avatar

Laura N.

Yelp
We ordered some items to enjoy right then and some to take back to our inn. Thoroughly enjoyed our Acai bowl. The smoothies were good. Really enjoyed the chicken salad wrap and the black bean wrap. I would definitely order those again.
google avatar

Tom T.

Yelp
Let me start this with the food hear is great and your should order it if you are looking for a healthy option. I recommend using Uber eats and having it delivered. The only reason not to eat here is the manager is a really crabby patty. We saw him first scold some potential customer ( young teen girls) saying they need to order something or get out because they were about to get busy. Keep in mind the place is dead. Next he scolded a customer who had called in an order like 10 acai bowls. Not sure why you feel to put your biggest customer in his place and throw spoons at him. Great food, really bad manager.

Yelp
Some of the best poke bowls I've had! Huge portions and very fast service! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for some fresh fast causal food in Charleston! Delicious!
