You know what, for an airport joint in the United States of America, Beecher's Handmade Cheese is outstanding. Unlike most other eateries at LAX--that weird ghost town of 2010s restaurants that licensed their names before their deaths--the food at this stall bears some relation to the entity it appears to represent. The cheese, at least, is Beecher's cheese.
I went to France with my mom and my two kids last month, and we grabbed a quick dinner here before catching our flight out. Service was fast, and we found a table in the general food court area.
My mom and I split a sandwich and a salad, and both were solid, though the sandwich was the clear winner. This was the chicken and Mama Lil's sandwich, made with Beecher's Flagship cheese, Just Jack, Mama Lil's peppers, Mama Lil's mayo, and arugula. I love Mama Lil's pickled peppers, and they made this sandwich pretty tasty. The grab-and-go salad was boring but fine, with quinoa, tomato, arugula, Beecher's Flagship, chicken, salt, and pepper.
My kids were being crazy but ate a little bit of their grilled cheese and "World's Best" mac and cheese. I ended up eating a bunch of the mac and cheese, too, and it was quite good, soft penne with Beecher's Original, Flagship, and Just Jack, plus some spices.
I feel like Beecher's has an advantage over the competition because its proprietary cheeses (and Mama Lil's peppers) are standardized and trusted enough to clear whatever restrictions make other airport food so shitty. Whatever the reason, this is the place to grab a meal should you need one in Terminal B.
