Beefsteak

I go here when I want to feel good about feeding myself a healthy meal. I wouldn't find enough variety to eat here more than once a week, however. My favorite thing to get is the "Build Your Own" veggie and grain bowl, because I can customize it to include exactly what I want. Here's a picture of one I created recently.

Excellent service from start to finish! Very large portions of food for about $8. In total we spent around $20 for two meals and a drink. This is a vegetarians heaven!

As a person who enjoys both meat and veggies, I enjoy coming here to satisfy my vegetable craving. Plenty of veggies to choose from and they have animal protein options (although they are quite pricey). Atmosphere is great and the chefs are down-to-earth. The bowls are big enough to feed two people.

At first I was skeptical about the casual, fast food chain feel of the restaurant. However, after taking a bite of my beefsteak tomato "burger" I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the ingredients, from the lettuce to the tomato to the bun. Also, I loved that you have kombucha on tap. These types of places are rare in the DC area, so I commend you for starting the trend. It is so critical that we move away from our livestock farming practices and shift to a more Earth conscious eating lifestyle. Thank you for what you're doing, and all the intention and love you put into your creation.

What I love about this place is how relaxed it is. You walk up to the counter and you can either make your own salad, make your own warm veggie bowl, or choose from the menu. I have been there twice and so far I have very much enjoyed both selections. The naked bowl is simple, but you leave feeling satisfied without feeling sickly full with a price of about $10. The Eden bowl is so delicious that I think I want to go back and get it again soon with a price of about $14. What added to my prices were my add-ons: poached egg and 1/2 an avocado. SO good.

Another great spot from Chef Jose Andres. Tip - for those meat eaters out there, you can get absolutely delicious chicken crumbles with any item for an additional charge. If you eat chicken, it's totally worth it. Service is great. Definitely recommended.

I just had the best experience eating here! Super kind and friendly staff and fresh foods and plenty of options. It’s healthy and yet tons of flavor options. Clean, cool atmosphere. Highly recommend!
