Beer Barrel Pizza & Grill

I will start with the greatness...yes, we will be back! Our waitress was super! She was so kind, cheerful and helpful. 😇 Our food was SO good! My mom and I shared a plate of most delicious Pulled Pork Nachos- when i asked if it would be enough for 2 people she said,"oh yes! Enough for 3-4 people really." It was piled high with a ton of meat! And yes, we took what we couldn't eat, home with us. My Dad got the lasagna. He loved the salad and when the lasagna arrived it was piping hot. Dad said it was meaty and the marinara sauce was so good. He could only eat half of it so the rest also went home with us. 😊 So, for the not so good....When we arrived, my older parents (Dad with a walker)and myself were greeted by a woman who didn't smile and we were welcomed with "How many?". Seeing that my Dad was using a walker she took us to a large booth across from a table of people, who respectfully, got up and pushed in their chairs, so my Dad could get thru. I looked and realized we would've had to step up on a ledge and slide across the seat (Know your customer). So, I knew that wasn't going to happen. When I asked her where was he to put his walker? And could we sit at a table she said, "oh!" and walked us back to a booth on the end, and asked, "how's this? He can put his walker behind the booth". I told her a table would be better. So she sat us at a table beside a couple who ALSO used a walker that easily fit between the two tables. By this time the "hostess" didn't seem to happy with us. She sat our dripping wet menus down and walked away. I understand she could've been having a rough day, but have a little compassion and be grateful and kind. Appreciate the fact that you can walk and not have to worry about steps or scooching your behind across a long seat. If your guest is handicapped ask if a booth or table works best. And if they say table, don't say, how about this booth.

Grabbed a to go order. The drive thru pick up went really well and had no issues. Realized when I got to where I was going they did not include a fork. Did not like how they added the salad dressing to my to go order. You would think if it’s to go you would put it on the side. The pizza though was really good.

Nice place with good Brussel sprouts and pizza. Lots of other good choices as well. Is a bar and can be a little loud but overall very nice.

I’ve never been one for reviews, bad ones at that. But my experience today just didnt sit right with me. Came in for a late lunch with my mom, which we never do together, so it was a real treat. But it was really disappointing. Our drinks had so much mix/syrup in them, we left with bellyaches. I got comped for one since I didn’t drink it, really. But our pizza came out just burnt. Cheese and all. The server knew better, you could tell by body language. We each ate one piece of our pizza and sat the rest at the end of the table. In hopes theyd be courteous enough to just take the initiative to comp it, after we said we were done and did NOT want it — it was not comped. So we paid $40 for our appetizer, one half of a drink, and 2 slices of burnt cardboard. I would’ve never left the kitchen with that pizza. I dont want any compensation for it or the experience — but needed to relay the feedback as in staff didn’t really seem to care enough to try to hear it from us directly. John should be disappointed.

Kayla was a super friendly server who made us feel very welcome. After a recook on our ribs and chicken chunks, everything was delicious. Happy hour drinks 2-4 were fun too and all time electric lemonade for $6 was a good buy with plenty of bang for buck.

Pizza was really good. Our server was great. She was able to coordinate a large party of us and split bills. Thanks! Nice job.

First time here. Thinnest deep dish pizza I've ever seen, but it was amazing. Cod fish sandwich was good, but the fish filet fell apart after 1 bite. Waiter was awesome and put up with our daughters silly antics .

Service was great, the food was quick and yummy, they even catered to my food allergies. I highly recommend popping in whether you are a local or passing through town.

Had a party of ten on a Friday night. Was told it would be around 30-40 minutes. Got seated in 15! Great job! We had a lot of separate checks which I know servers dislike but Jessica (our AMAZING server) handled it like a pro! She was conversant, funny, and personable! Also had great hair! The atmosphere was exactly what you would expect. A little loud with football playing on several TV's and patrons enjoying themselves. I had the fish tacos. I'd give them a B+. The pico had pineapple in it which I wasn't a huge fan of but the meal was very good. Wife had wings drenched in garlic Parmesan sauce. They were large, messy, and juicy! Price was reasonable, beer was cold, and the crew friendly. Not much to sneeze about. Highly recommend.

I was in town for business and always try to avoid national chain restaurants. I noticed the parking lot was full when I drove by at 630 on a Monday night so decided to give it a try. I chose wisely. Caiden, my server, was one of the best I've EVER had anywhere in my many decades of adulthood & travel. He was super friendly, attentive & polite. And the BBQ shrimp tacos he recommended were phenomenal. Topped it off with a "Grasshopper"(?) IPA from a Toledo brewery (I prefer hoppy, not fruity). The place was clean and service was quick, too. Definitely a 5-star experience! I'll be back while I'm in town!

Our first visit to Lima. Got a pizza and beer. The pizza was great! Piping hot and perfect crust. A flight of beer had 6 generous samples - that's more than most other places I've been to. We sat at the bar so the service from the bartender was good, but there was only one person back there so she was hustling the whole time. She was friendly and efficient. One negative would be that we had a hard time finding a barstool that didn't wobble. Not sure if the problem was the floor or the stools but that should be fixed. We'd recommend this restaurant.

Cobb salad with grilled chicken and blue cheese dressing oh my yum!!!! Service was great, tea always full and friendly staff Can't wait to come back.

What's better than pizza, wings and beer? Beer Barrel was absolutely clutch with a pizza and wings special. 14" two-topping and a solid pound of hot buffalo wings for $20? Yes, please and thank you. Double pepperoni on thin crust did just the trick. I'm a sucker for wings, especially perfectly golden and crispy. Cynthia was amazing; constantly checking in on us but also giving us space to eat, drink and converse.

Apparently they're known for their pizza, but hidden gems for me would be the fish and chips, and the meatballs and salad. The salad comes with a homemade vinaigrette dressing which I highly recommend. Always in the area for business I normally just eat at the bar, but tonight I decided to sit in a booth. Sarah my sever was awesome, just attentive enough to ensure I was ok without rushing me.

A five star review from me does not come easily. I'm not a jerk or anything it's just that I have to have a place to put those restaurants that I thoroughly enjoyed and this Beer Barrel Pizza and Grill location fits that category. During my six day Lima, OH visit, I went there twice so far and will go there a third time before I head home if I can. There are three Lima locations but they have spread to a few more locations including one in Hilliard, a suburb of Columbus. If they can make it there, sky's the limit! The parking was great. All of the spots, even the crappy ones, were close to the door and no steps or curbs for those who have accessibility needs. When we walked in we were greeted right away by a friendly face who sat us immediately even though the place was packed...and it was only 5:30 PM. We were sat in a spacious booth that was perfectly clean with all the condiments you could ever want right at your finger tips without taking up too much of your table space. The pub was cavernous and checked all the boxes. High timbered ceilings, brick accents, huge TVs that you could see several of them from any seat jn the house and a huge U shaped bar. It was also nice that the foyer was cleverly placed out of view from the rest of the dining room avoiding distractions and likely cold bursts during the winter. Our waitress (can we still say waitress?) was new but obviously well trained and friendly. She got our drinks super quick which had plenty of ice which is ideal unless you have a server who never refills but we did not have that issue at all. She was bringing refills before we even had the chance to ask. Yes, that actually happens at some places and here was one of them. She was patient with us when it came to taking our order and had to come back twice while we tried to decide. Her words were never truer than when she said, "That's okay, take your time. It's a big menu." It is a huge menu with choices from pizza to fish to burgers to wings to Tex Mex to Italian. Almost overwhelming and I am always suspicious of big menus because most places with huge menus actually only do a couple things well. I don't think that is the case here based on my limited experience. We went with some of the signature dishes and so glad we did because we were totally impressed. As an appetizer, we chose the pretzel sticks and "Beer Cheese". Oh Nelly, that homemade signature beer cheese was the best I have ever had in a world where every pub seems to have a version. But not like this. The cheese is made with beer, cheddar, cream cheese, garlic and other ingredients that give it a lovely unique flavor that makes you want more. You gotta try it. My wife got the Rueben with hand cut fresh fries. Thick corned beef, thick swirled rye bread and just the right amounts of kraut and dressing. They really worked this Reuben out to perfection. Many are lathering in dressing and soggy but not this one. It was delish and my wife has a tough standard for Ruebens. This passes easily! I had the signature spaghetti and meatballs. Sauce homemade. Meatballs homemade. Now this was really interesting. When I tried it, I was like yeah, this is good but as I went along it just seemed to get better and better. Even though I had to take home half of it, I didn't want to! I wanted to finish every last bite right there but I just couldn't! So good. The meatballs were big and dense and the sauce was full flavor but not overpowering and not too sweet or bland. It was perfect. Each bite built upon the last. On the last visit we tried their pizza with pep and mushroom for carry out with the original crust. It was great. Just what I expect a good pizza to be. It is such a risk ordering a pizza when in unfamiliar places but this gamble paid off. You won't be disappointed. But that brings me a to another great feature of this place. When you order carry out, they have an attached beer and wine drive through where you can drive in, pick up your pizza along with any other beer wine drive through item you may need. I really cannot say enough good things about this place and I really can't wait to return. Really really. I would give it six stars if I could.

While the food is always good, our waiter was an excellent host. He was so kind, he treated us like family. I believe his name was Caiden, such a funny, chill, and amazing guy. The overall vibe was amazing. My friends and I came right after preforming a concert and plan too after every performance from this point on.

Jessica was our bartender. She had a million places to be to help the kitchen- it was obvious and they looked to her for solutions... she solved them without diluting our service. And was above and beyond social. Friendly. And always was on point with our food/drinks. She is 1000% the reason we will be back to this beer barrel, even though we live two miles from another. It's nice to get away from your hometown and have great service. This was a great experience.

This location is okay. Clean location and friendly staff. Food was alright but nothing special.

We can't say enough good things about this place. We eat here every time we come to town. The atmosphere is fun, inviting and welcoming. Last night we had a party of 8 and our server was outstanding! He was super patient w our older family members and super attentive to our needs. As usual the food was delicious!

The pizza is fine but very very slow. I don't know if they have staffing issues or what but please don't come hungry. You will have plenty of time to get hungry waiting for your food.

The pizza and service was good, maybe a bit slow but acceptable. I was quite unpleasantly surprised with 2 sodas and a 16 in pizza including tip costing $50!! Yes, the pizza was good but not that good!!

Best. Wings. Ever! Clean, spacious space. Big TVs. This place is great! I only come to Lima for work but I'll come here for lunch every time!

Very good service. April was absolutely amazing and very attentive. We were there on a Sunday and they had plenty of TV's to watch football. Plenty of beer options. Plenty of bar seats, which we preferred. Also a place where you can bring your family, as there is ample table seating throughout. For food, we just had appetizers, and they were good. Only 4 stars, because they did run out of Mich Ultra and Bud Light on draft, without back up kegs available. Lady's first choices, but she chose an alternative option, which work out ok. Wonderful vibe, almost like a Texas Roadhouse in terms of decor and style, but more relaxed. The Beer Barrel Bacon BBQ burger was delicious, and the Buckeye Blitz was divine! Glad I skipped the standard cheesecake for it. If you're in Lima (or Ohio for that matter) and looking for a nice place to sit down for a meal, this is a great choice!

I'm an out of towner and was meeting a friend there - we both came from 2 hours away and was looking for a central meet point for lunch. Staff was super friendly & accommodating when I was looking for a quieter spot in the place, food was great, not a single complaint. Honestly way better than expected and would return. Actually may have to because we forgot to order dessert and the buckeye blitz looks really good...

On 2/19/2024, I was served the worse pizza that I ever ordered. It was for my Grandchildren, and the pizza was burnt which made it unedible. I called to complain, and was put on hold with no response

This is the worst fucking taco I've ever seen in my life. They were supposed to be a chicken, but there's no chicken it's all cabbage. Don't eat here, unless you were starving and going to die without cabbage.

We haven't been to Beer Barrel in at least 10 years. The place was packed and we weren't in a hurry, thank goodness. We were seated in 28 minutes, but it took over an hour to orde, receive our meal and pay. The waitress apologized and said the kitchen was very behind. My husband received a Diet Coke, not regular and my drink from the bar came out 20 minutes before his. Our food was good, although the waitress told us the fish was better dipped ( it is breaded, btw) Probably won't be back for another 10 years.

Our dinner consisted of a pizza and chicken chunks! Excellent unsweetened iced tea... fresh brewed. Decent waitress. Nice decor. Our pizza was delicious. The chicken chunks were delightful. We liked that Parmesan Cheese and Red Pepper Flakes were on the table in shakers!

this place is ridiculous. if you plan on coming any time soon, you might want to write out your wills because the time you wait here is equivalent to the time you have left on earth.

Looking for a place in Lima to watch the ND game with my dog. Finally found this outdoor patio (no TVs), and grabbed a table. Two servers came out to attend to the only two tables out there, that were both finishing up. After each, a buser came out and cleared up after them both. I watched the entire 1st quarter on my phone, never got acknowledged, offered a menu, or water for me or my dog. Left after the 1st quarter during commercial to find someplace else.

Love this place!! We've been there many times and have never had a bad experience. Food is amazing. Thin crust pizza is my favorite meatball sub was delicious and my son absolutely loved the grilled cheese

Stopped at the Beer Barrel while staying in Lima, OH. One of the worst decisions we made in a while. Ordered a strawberry daiquiri and it had to be the worst daiquiri I have ever had. The food was your typical frozen reheat items and were barely warm. The staff was friendly and tried there best. Definitely not worth a second chance.

I've only had the pizza but their Pizza is excellent. Tasty crust with lots of cheese and abundant toppings. Servers have been quick and attentive.
