Beer and Burger is a cozy King’s Cross spot dishing up juicy smashburgers and a solid beer selection, perfect for quick bites or leisurely hangs.
"Beer + Burger is a straightforward place that won’t blow you away, but will satisfy any cravings for carbs and a cold one. There are decent burgers and there is beer, some in quite annoyingly labelled fridges like ‘cider + crazy shit’. The neon signage, loud music, and references to ‘goop sauce’ feel too much like someone trying to be ‘down with the kids’. But this King’s Cross spot is actually pretty useful. Co-workers drift in from nearby offices and find some relief with the easy-going, no-need-to-book policy, friends pile into benches before Scala gigs, and commuters inhale burgers on hard stools before heading to nearby St Pancras. Know that there’s also a solid plant-based burger. It’s not one of our favourite spots in the area, but for last-minute plans that require convenience and solid food, it works." - Sinéad Cranna
"Beer + Burger is a casual burger spot down the side of the Granary Square Waitrose. If you’re willing to rub shoulders with (thankfully fast-moving) hordes of local workers on a weekday night, it’s as good a place as any to grab a quick drink and a bite. They have a big selection of beers on tap, and whether you’re here with a crowd of friends for several rounds and some food, or popping in for a solo cheeseburger and some deep-fried jalapeños on your way home, you won’t regret it." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna
"We’d love to tell you how often we order Beer + Burger, but our doctor might be reading this and at our last check-up we said we’d try this thing called “moderation”. But we can tell you that, err, it’s a lot. Our go-to order is the cheeseburger. It’s slightly charred, a little moist, and sloppy in a deeply satisfying way. Honestly, we might just order one now from one of its locations—in King’s Cross, Willesden, and Dalston." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

"Film Pairing:Erin Brockovich (Netflix) “Erin Brockovich is a tale of justice, redemption, determination, and the power of a push-up bra. Based on a true story about a David vs. Goliath lawsuit, it stars Julia Roberts at her curly-haired, strappy-sandal-wearing, American hero best. Order in a different American hero, the cheeseburger. More specifically, the double cheeseburger from Beer + Burger, who are delivering from Notting Hill, King’s Cross, Dalston, Willesden Green, and The O2 Centre. Bonus points if you can time it so you take a big, satisfying bite of dirty fries just as Julia knocks out the line ‘that’s all you got lady, two wrong feet and ugly shoes’.” - HLB" - oliver feldman, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
