"“Drink, eat, repent, repeat” is the easy-to-follow motto of this New Buffalo brewery, built into a former church (in case you couldn’t guess from their name). Beers like the Crooked Cross cream ale and the Pontius Pilate NEIPA keep close to the liturgical theme, while other options like the Tinderella creme brulee blonde ale skew a bit more modern. The wood-fired pizzas are a major draw, but you shouldn’t go to Church without getting an order of “Communion Bread” the brewpub’s fresh-basked flatbread." - Karl Klockars, Eater Staff

This brewery is worth going to. The drinks were outstanding! The Mocaccino was one of the best beers I have had in awhile. Next time we are in the area, we will be back! Even the non beer drinker found something!

Beer Church Brewing Co. offers an exceptional experience that combines great food, a vast drink selection, and a wonderful outdoor ambiance. The outdoor area is inviting and well-designed, perfect for enjoying a sunny afternoon or a relaxed evening with friends. The food is top-notch, with a diverse menu that caters to all tastes, and each dish is prepared with care and flavor. Additionally, the drink selection is impressive, featuring a wide range of craft beers, wines, and cocktails to suit any preference. Whether you're a beer aficionado or just looking for a pleasant place to unwind, Beer Church Brewing Co. is a must-visit destination.

We are from out of town. We stopped in here as recommended by family. We wanted to watch a March madness game. The manager, Marcus was so accommodating and turned the game on along with the sound which he didn’t have to do but he did. The food was amazing The pizza we had was prosciutto and arugula, and I bought two more to bring home when I left!!! The atmosphere is so unique and full of history. I would not pass up this place if I were you.! Delish!

Google
Got into town late and the billboards drew us in. Lots of good beer to select from (shared 2 flights) and a pizza. Everything was delicious and especially enjoyed the recommendation from Ashley on both the beer choices and the pizza

Google
🙏 In the name of the Beer, and the Church, & the Brewing Co, AMEN! 🙏 Took my mom on a Tues & still busy! Packed like Christmas mass! Between the beer & pizza selection, I see why the indoor & outdoor sections were at capacity! Also, the service from Lauren T was divine! She not only educated us on how the pizza was made, she brought out the merch I inquired about! Will return like our Lord & Savior on Easter... #LaurenTisKey

Google
Place looks cool, staff was very friendly, food was OK. I think they could improve the quality of the food, but overall was a happy experience each time. I added photos of the menu since I couldn’t find one online before!

Google
Went to a corporate event and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their meat and cheese appetizer spread with fruits and nuts... best bread ever! Wood fired pizzas were wonderful too. (We had a buffet, so I tried three styles!) Great craft beer selection and a nice craft cocktail menu too! (See menu!)

I stopped in to wet my whistle while out hiking across IN Dunes State/National Park since it was raining and the birds were hiding. Brittney was very friendly! Their Pontius Pilate IPA is delicious! Full bodied and the juice notes come through exceptionally. Definitely adding this to my favorites list!

Yelp
After exploring today stopped in to for dinner. Located in a renovated church building. Brewing takes place outside. Indoor and patio seating. Started the meal off with a cup of the soup of the day. Today it was Cajun sausage and potato soup. I could have made a meal out of a full bowl of it, had great flavor and was full of meat/veggies. Picked the French dip off the feature menu for my entree. It said there were caramelized onions - they were sautéed, I removed them. The horseradish and dipping sauce made the sandwich so good, the bread was so good. My waitress was doing her first solo flight today, she did a great job. They have gelato available for dessert. Stop in and visit them if given the chance.

Kerry F.

Yelp
Love beer, church! We make an appointment to visit whenever we can. My personal favorite is their cream ale although on this last visit, I got their Amber and that was also delicious. Fantastic food offerings their beet salad was one of the best salads I've ever had in my entire life and then you cannot go wrong with one of their oven fired pizzas! Service is always friendly, but understandably busy. They also have gelato for anyone craving a little bit of sweet after their meal.

Brenna P.

Yelp
confession: (apropos, yes?) this was not our first choice for lunch as we were driving through, but I'm so glad we stopped. The beer was tasty (I got the cream ale as a shandy) and there were lots of options. We got a couple snacks- the gnocchi fries were a bit bland and oily, but the burrata was great! The grilled bread/pizza dough was delicious! The service was a bit inattentive, and the bathrooms are a bit inconveniently located for the patio, but we had a great time.

Chris C.

Yelp
The food was really good. We had a crema di pistachio pizza, meatballs, breadsticks with beer cheese, charcuterie, and Reuben's (they were a special). The pizza was great. The breadsticks and beer cheese were yummy. One person liked their Reuben and one person did not (it wasn't a super traditional Reuben flavor to her). We really enjoyed everything, and the patio was nice, the heaters kept us warm enough on a 60 degree evening with sweatshirts on. The service was good. It overall was a great dinner, the only drawback was the price. Two adults and two teens and we spent almost $150 for dinner. I'm not saying the food wasn't worth it, just to be prepared.

Kelsey R.

Yelp
Great stop in New Buffalo! We stopped on our way out of Detroit to Milwaukee and were impressed. It is a really nice environment and I bet very fun in the warmer months. The food was very good, we got a prosciutto sandwich, Caesar Salad, and a pizza. The Hazy IPA was also a hit. Overall, a bit overpriced but would still come back!

Rachel J.

Yelp
My favorite!!! I come all the way from Chicago to eat here when we come to Michigan. Definitely recommend

Amber F.

Yelp
Went on a Thursday afternoon, the weather wasn't great but the place still had a few other guests there. I had the sour and we tried the adult koolaid shot. Overall good time. The building is an old church as the name suggests. Our server was so nice and helpful explaining the menu and helping on of the non drinkers find something. Will definitely be back!

Jennifer K.

Yelp
I've always wanted to go here but in the summer it's always packed so I never got a chance . My husband and I were driving up there for a show and decided this would be the perfect time to give them a try bc it's cold and no wait on a Friday afternoon. I can see why it's always packed , it's small inside so there is probably a wait on most days . The inside is very pretty decorated with bold colors and art . The staff was very nice and very attentive. I will say I still dream about their beer cheese and bread/pretzel sticks . Our waitress was so nice , we had one stick left and asked if we could get our cheese in a container and she gave us a fresh whole container to go instead . We also got a pizza , salad, and veggies . Everything was so amazing , I would love to go again on an off day !

Yelp
We checked in at 10:45 a.m. for a table of 8 last person sat down at 11.10. It is 1:15 and we are just know leaving - we ordered a salad, chicken wings. 2 meatball subs. 2 orders of eggs and bacon and a prime rib sandwich and a yogurt parfait. We got 1meatball sub and the prime rib sandwich about 45 mins in and 2 random orders of bacon. Then after another 45 mins we got the eggs and the salad and the parfait and 15 mins later finally got the last meatball sub- they took two sodas from the bill - so disappointed- people drove home to an hour and half away. Won't be back - ever

Ashley K.

Yelp
Wood fired oven pizzas are top notch! Beer selection is desirable. Prices are high for where it is and what it is, 5oz tasting pours are $5+. Ambiance leaves room to be desired. Service is kind and sufficient. Would go back and recommend to anyone passing through.

Miranda T.

Yelp
Stopped by Beer Church Brewing for drinks after a fun day of wine tasting. Our group had a mixture of wine, beer, and a cocktail. I got the Nectar of Saint Nicholas and loved it! It was sweeter than expected as the chamomile syrup was the most prominent taste. It was unlike any other cocktail I had tried before which is always a bonus! Our favorite beer of the visit was Pontius Pilot (New England IPA); all others we tasted were ok. One could get as many or little beer tastings as desired as each beer was offered in a 5oz size rather than a set flight amount. Drinks came out quickly! Our drawback to this location was the overall branding and vibe. This spot has an AMAZING outdoor patio; but inside, the church theme did not pull through as expected. There were many tv's for a sports bar atmosphere, eclectic/modern furniture that was very bright, and the "brewery" felt more like a wood fire pizza spot that happened to have beer. We just felt a bit confused on what the restaurant was trying to be.

Stu E.

Yelp
We were visiting friends in Michigan City and on the way back to their place after a hike along an area adjacent to the lake, we decided to stop to get carryout since our friends had heard the Church had good food in addition to good beer. Wowzer! The "basic" salad is much more than that with goat cheese, apples, nuts, and assortment of greens and a delicious vinaigrette. There was enough there for us to share amongst the four of us. We got the New Buffalo chicken wings with the jerk seasoning/sauce. I think they would have been better when fresh because the skin lost its crispness by the time we got them home to eat. Still really great flavor and the jerk while spicy was not overwhelming. The Cacio E Pepe/Lustina pizza was unlike anything I've had before and was fantastic. A Naples style pizza topped with multiple types of cheese and a cream sauce, pepper, arugula and fennel sausage. My mouth is watering thinking about it. We probably should have ordered two for our group because it went fast, fast, fast!

Nadine O.

Yelp
Pros: beautiful day and nice patio. Cons: service wasn't the greatest. Wood fired pizza are tasty. Salads good too.

Alissa M.

Yelp
The atmosphere was top tier, drinks were great, our server was a sweetheart! I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Ali L.

Yelp
We were so excited to try this brewery because it looks so cute from the outside but the inside and even patio area just didn't live up to what we expected. Service was ok, she wasn't super friendly and we kept having to find her. Food was ok, we did a board and bread but I've had better especially for the price point of this place. Drinks were fine again just nothing amazing.

Luke D.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with friendly staff! We had a flight of their taps with a pizza. Beer and pizza were both fantastic. Highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area!

Jordan D.

Yelp
DON'T COME HERE IF YOU'RE UNDER 30 AND WANT TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT. Food was great, but I'm left with a bitter taste in my mouth. I'm not one to ever write a poor review. However, I'm extremely disappointed with the service. Our waitress was quite rude. Many of the members in our group have served in food services, and were still planning to tip. We were charged automatic gratuity, which places normally do, however, we were overcharged and we were not compensated. Extremely disappointing that we had to catch the error in our bill, and they claimed to correct it, but the total was still incorrect. Very frustrating and disappointing. Food was great, but not worth this experience.

Olivia V.

Yelp
Beer Church Brewing was a great place to all meet at at the beginning of a friends weekend getaway, Cool location and ambiance with all things church related - funny pun intended drink names - tvs for watching sports and large tables for larger groups. Although didn't get to enjoy the food - the pizza options looked stellar!!!

Sean K.

Yelp
Beer Church was poppin today. Unfortunately kind of slow on food (hour and a half) but worth the wait. Had the fresh pastram and of course broke the communal bread. Started off with a fresh lemoncello that got me leanin right off the rip, if you catch my drift. Finished the meal with a crooked cross which is now my fathers favorite beer. Maybe we are all religious to some degree.

Joy H.

Yelp
The service was a bit on the slower side. I also felt like some of the names of the food and the decor was offensive.

Kristin E.

Yelp
Such a great brewery and a must stop if you love pizza. Stopped here on our trip home and wished we would have found it earlier to explore more menu items. Love the themed menu items, outdoor seating area and the great service. Hands down the best pizza I have ever had and the communion bread- yum!

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Inside is small, but the outside is the way to go. Outside upper deck is great for nice weather. They have heaters over the bar, if it's a little chilly. If you're not an IPA fan, Crooked Cross is great, especially as the shandy. All of the food looked great, too. Definitely recommend.

Allie R.

Yelp
Amazing spot for a beverage and bite. The beers were incredible with a large menu. While I did not take a picture the pizza and sandwiches were absolutely incredible. A perfect spot for lunch or dinner with friends. Staff was so nice and helpful! Plenty of outdoor seating, including a rooftop. As well as, an indoor dinning area with TVs to watch sports.

Connor D.

Yelp
Was in the area for the weekend so we thought we'd check out this intriguing concept. Got a table for 7 right away on a Saturday around 5:30.... Service was trash & food was mediocre, if that. Wouldn't recommend unless you were coming for one of their specific beers & that's about it.

David T.

Yelp
The pizza here never disappoints. Great outdoor seating. The service and food both top notch.

Rodney E.

Yelp
I have been here three times over the years. The only weird time was when we were picking up to go food and beer during lock down but that doesn't matter or change anything. We went more recently on 2/18/2024 and at first I was hesitant because the place was packed but we quickly got in. The environment is wonderful and the only church that I enjoy attending. Service was prompt and efficient. Tasty beer and food options fill the menu leaving me with tough choices to be made. Their pizzas are magnificent and have their own character vs. any other chain or indie pizzeria. The two beers that I had were I Wish I Was In A Hollywood Movie and Bald By Choice and both were excellent. There are tons of logical options everywhere in the area but Beer Church offers not only good food and beer but a tourist enticing destination with the church.

Michael R.

Yelp
If you don't know, this is a really cool restaurant from a retrofitted church building. They have a big pizza oven that they cook breads and pizzas in, and it's also a brewery (hence the name) so they make their own beers as well. We came here twice in a week for dinner and both times people in our group got pizzas and sandwiches. The bread here is amazing! The dough on the pizzas and sandwiches is crusty and well cooked, and the toppings are very fresh and delicious. I got the prosciutto di parma pizza the first time and the funghi of pizza the second time - I liked the latter better but they're both very good options. They also have seasonal and limited menu items on a written board, so look out for those! Our group really liked their house beers, but they also have a really good cocktail menu to choose from as well as a selection of wines. We really enjoyed this local restaurant, the restaurant was really unique, the staff were very kind, and the food was delicious!

Steve S.

Yelp
The place was really crowded so we thought it was going to be great well our bartender she had an attitude and seemed like she didn't want to be there The beer was so so didn't try the food because she really turned us off

Cee B.

Yelp
Maybe New Jersey has spoiled me? This is hipster ground zero serving fake Neapolitan fanfare. I had a meatball sandwich and it was dismal at Best. The bread was light and airy but very squishy and overly chewy. Consistent with leaving good Italian bread in a zip lock bag overnight. The marinara was too sweet and felt like it was designed for pizza and used for everything else. The meatballs weren't fried first and appeared to be done in the oven with water then covered. They were tiny as well. Overall, for a 20 dollar sandwich it falls real short of the mark.

Jen M.

Yelp
Love the outdoor rooftop but the service the last two weekends has been terrible. Last Saturday night we had dinner inside the restaurant and the server brought the wrong beer, was extremely slow to replace and not friendly. This past weekend we went for drinks on the rooftop and service was non-existent. Not just us but everyone around us. Disappointing.

Bianca R.

Yelp
Great spot in New Buffalo!! All of their drinks and food is phenomenal. This time we shared the burrata and had spicy margaritas and a Moscow mule!

Betty L.

Yelp
Patty was very attentive and great server. You can get to 2 beer tastings per person. The beer was okay. We chose the Buffalo Beer. We had just eaten lunch so we ordered their Go Bananas Dessert pizza $13. There is parking outside and they have restaurant parking too. There is also an outside patio with umbrellas. I would return and try their other menu items.

Erin N.

Yelp
Food is mediocre and expensive. Amazing ambiance. Beer is slightly below average, like honestly very standard beer. This place is a really cool concept and super unique, but just know you're not coming here for the food and drink- you're coming for the environment

Randi B.

Yelp
We left Louisville early and was Michigan bound (Grand Rapids area). Just before we crossed the Indiana border I got on my trusty YELP app for a place for lunch. My most popular search is "Brewery's with food near me and look what pops up .....Beer Church Brewing! Very cool! The church building, steeple and cross included look beautiful. What's inside is a bar, ample seating, upstairs is the t- shirt shop, and don't miss the large two story outdoor patio, massive. Our server was Michelle and she was friendly, knowledgeable and hoot!! Hubby had the Lobster pizza and I had the chicken chopped salad. If ever in New Buffalo, MI, this is a place you want to try.

Sarah S.

Yelp
The pizza was a step above Tosi's, and the sour beer was amazing! We will be back every time we are in town. What a cute location and a cute (though mildly sacrilegious) theme.

Neil L.

Yelp
This is a review of Beer Church's takeout food/ service only. I had never been to Beer Church before, but wanted to try something new. So, I ordered (online) a Margherita pizza (w/ mushrooms) + 6 chicken wings (buffalo). I wanted to stay away from any "fancy" shenanigans, so that I would stay within a normal comfort zone for this new experience. The online ordering was easy, BUT the menu was lacking in details about their buffalo wing "flavors" -- citing "bar-b-aki" , "el diablo", "hell's honey", "ghost pepper", and "forbidden citrus". No explanation as to what this lingo refers to. These are "made-up" flavor names that probably have a perfectly understandable explanation -- had they bothered. I went with the "buffalo" flavor -as I know what that is supposed to be. The lack of description for their flavors is a definite problem -- especially for on-line ordering. A failure. The pricing: outrageously expensive for what you get. The pizza is about 12" diameter -- possibly OK for splitting with one other person. But, many would consider this to be a "personal" sized pizza. (I am on a low-carb diet, so pizza is a definite breaking-the-rule splurge for me, which I am OK with. I know that it is not good to consume many slices of pizza, even though most of us will eat an entire pizza at once, if we had total free will. But, it is always good to have extra slices for the next day(s)). The basic pizza at $17 is expensive. Adding $4 for mushrooms -- consisting of probably a single mushroom, sliced -- is outrageous. A failure of value at $21. Don't do it. Likewise, the 6 wings at $14 is way too expensive. The in-bone wings are large. But $2.34 per wing? If there was something special about them, maybe. These are very standard wings. The buffalo spicing was very mild -- not up to par with what I would consider "buffalo wings". No celery is included, and no blue cheese sauce is included. Total failure. Taste: the pizza and the wings were perfectly acceptable in the taste category. As stated above, the wings were not "bad", but they were nothing special. They were not spicy enough, and they did not come with the usual blue cheese and celery. The pizza looked good, was small, had very few mushroom slices (esp. for $4/ should have been gratis), the crust was moderately thick with a large area of crust around the perimeter (as shown online). The crust was chewy, and I would say is a good crust. But, way overpriced. Service: This was an online/pickup order. So, the only service required was that the order is correct, and the pickup time is correct. They actually FAILED on this simple task: upon placing the order, a notice is given that says they "will email you when your order is ready". They also give a time when it will be ready. Sometimes, as we all know, the stated ready time is not accurate. So, I was waiting for them to email me. After 15 minutes beyond the stated time, I called. They said it was ready, and had been ready for quite some time! Naturally, it was a bit cold when I picked it up. So, online ordering: FAIL. I give this 3 stars, which I believe is very generous. Others would downgrade to 1 or 2 stars. I hope they modify the online ordering details, and also the pricing. It is way out of line with expectations. I would not order from here again unless some major pricing changes were incorporated.

Tony M.

Yelp
We sat for two hours and our server only came 4 times literally walked passed never checked on us never warned us to say it would maybe be a little wait just only came to us when it seemed it was convenient and we always tip very well and still did but it was very frustrating in the end

Charlotte R.

Yelp
We went lunchtime on a Sunday. Seated on the patio right away. Servers were friendly. The street corn pizza sounded so good, but it was very spicy.... much spicier than we expected it to be. We all needed more water. The 2nd pizza we got was delicious. I really enjoyed the crust. I will give it a try again some time, but I did find myself a little underwhelmed compared to what I had heard about this place.

Dina E.

Yelp
Small batch brewery with good beer, fun cocktails and great Neapolitan-Style pizza! Tons of fun topping options and you can customize your own pizza if you like. The space is smallish with fun, bright decor, has sports tv screens throughout, a nice bar area and offers igloo seating outdoors! This place is jam packed all summer, so if you have a chance to try it before the beach crowds arrive, check it out! Staff is super friendly and helpful. Parking is off street and can be tricky during the Summer/Fall, but is readily available during Winter and Spring.

Katie N.

Yelp
I have very mixed emotions about this place. Here is my breakdown: Beer: 4- the ones I tried were tasty, particularly the Napoleon with raspberry purée and the gourd beer. Decor and ambiance: 2- it's confusing. It's beer church, but they definitely didn't take advantage of a church theme. It's confusing, bright colors, some religious themes, tvs everywhere for sports, loud 80s hair bands playing. Service: 5- the waitress was really great, despite it being busy. Food: 1- we came for brunch, we both got the avocado toast. The eggs were really wet and cold, like they were poached well in advance and then just sat in water. The yolks weren't runny so I think I'm right. Also the gf bread was very chewy and at $5 extra not amazing. There wasn't much avocado on the toast. Definitely wouldn't order again. But the worst thing was it's literally 63 degrees inside. We would've stayed longer but we were so cold it was uncomfortable.

Lisa L.

Yelp
Fun Lord Best spicy Margarita I've ever had Amazing charcuterie Everything a sports bar should be

Becky H.

Yelp
The beer was good! Walked in on a whim having never tried it before. We weren't looking for food, just beer. The whole outdoor area is very cute with sofas, tables, fireplace, upstairs bar (21+). The bartenders were very nice and shared a lot of little samples trying to help us find which beer we liked. We'd be back!

Andy K.

Yelp
Staff here needs to loosen up and crack a dang smile once in a while! I had heard not great things concerning management /staff here but after a couple years, I finally decided to give it a try after. Pizza- wasn't bad. We forgot to ask for GF crust- so went back to request and server was rude and said "its too late". Really? Food allergies are too late? The server was VERY angry and just seemed as though she just really didn't want to be there. We just felt very uncomfortable throughout the duration of our meal, and as soon as we finished eating we couldn't get out of there fast enough. We had also called for takeout right before we showed up and figured, "Wow, they must be very busy.... They can't answer their phones!" After a few times trying yo get through, they sent us to VM. When we arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes later/ there were maybe 3 tables occupied with multiple servers. Crack a smile, be nice to families with kids AND the kids, and just have basic human decency... If you're going to work with the public. Thanks!

Makenzie B.

Yelp
Waited over an hour to find out our server forgot to put the pizza in. I see the owner likes to think it's the viewers issue. It's NOT. Want drinks great place but food wise. THEY FORGET.!

Michelle M.

Yelp
After spending two nights at Four Winds, we stopped in for brunch on Sunday before heading back toward Chicago. I tried four different beers and really liked each. One daughter got prosciutto pizza, other daughter got prosciutto sandwich. My mom and I split Brunch pizza with egg in the middle. We later ordered another and added mushrooms! Overall, we really enjoyed everything! I went upstairs and got a cool Smurf color hoodie jacket, I'm still wearing it! I bought a bottle of stout to bring home. Awesome place and I want to go back!

Anthony M.

Yelp
Instead of getting rid of my review, I'm going to give an update because the guy who runs this place has gone off the deep end. Make no mistake, this place makes a great pizza which is why it gets the 2 stars. However, their constant bullying of bad reviews and them thinking that Yelp is trying to ruin their business has made me not recommend going here. They are trying to sabotage their own page so that people can't review them on Yelp. They got locked out. They are now blasting it wherever they can on Facebook. When I tried commenting on this crazy post, my comment was deleted and I am not longer able to "Like" their page. Note that I never complained about the food or service when I was there. Every single Elite has given this place a stellar review. It's sad to see a business implode like this. Stay away! EDIT TO JOHN: Its funny that you are so Anti Yelp when the Elites, who's reviews are weighted higher on this site, all give you four and up (except me now). I wish you luck as you are seriously killing your business.

Gabe A.

Yelp
The Good: Food and atmosphere here are really nice. Modern, clean interior with many TVs. Nice remodeled patio with two levels + multiple TVs. Food + beer are also good. I got the Margherita pizza + pepperoni, great crust and flavor. + the jerk wings (not spicy at all, more sweet, but good flavor). The Bad: We DID NOT APPRECIATE our server taking the liberty to DEFAULT OUR BILL WITH A 25% TIP without our knowledge. She merely handed us the credit card reader saying, "the tip is already included" so we assumed they have a standard 18% or 20% charge, no big deal. But upon asking for the recipient (which you have to ask for or they won't provide, I'm assuming to hide the fact that they're overcharging for tips), she charged us 25%!!!! I'm happy to give a good tip for good food and service, but to charge your customers 25% without them knowing SKETCHY / SCAMMY / UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

Olivia S.

Yelp
Never judge a book by its cover. The outside of restaurant is stunning and used to be a church, but the inside service we received was comical. My friends and I decide to have food and drinks here for our friends. The food was absolutely trash and so was the service. Let me start off by saying out charcuterie board took over an hour to come out. When it finally came it was warm and it looked like it was made with ingredients from the dollar tree. Our chili was ice cold, the sandwich and pizzas were so burnt you would have broke a tooth eating it. We complained about our the service and our waiter tells us the dishwasher just quit. Like WHAT? Our waiter also didn't know the menu when we asked questions about the food. Good thing nobody had allergies or would have gotten sick. He never even apologize for our snail service. We then had to pull a Karen and asked for "the manager" after my bf and two of my friends complained she then apologized and took the charcuterie board off the bill and gave us a discount on the whole bill. While it was a positive experience with the manger, I advise you to stay away unless you have all the time in the world to sit and wait over an hour for food and drinks. You will become HANGRY!

Katy C.

Yelp
When I learned about a brewery with Neapolitan pizza in a church near where we'd be camping at Warren Dunes State Park, I told my friends we'd be checking it out. Didn't ask, just told them. Luckily they all like beer and pizza and me, so we stopped by on a rainy afternoon and got our name on the list. We had a bit of a wait but we just hung out in the car in the parking lot across the street. We were seated in the main area with a nice view of the balcony and massive beautiful pizza oven where the altar would have been. The vibe inside is modern and updated, so don't expect to see ornate wooden pews or anything like that. Our server was super kind and polite and gave us recommendations on pizza. We started with drinks - I got the Motown Mule with vodka, lime, blueberry puree, and ginger beer. I loved the addition of blueberries to add a little sweetness, but still tart with lime and spicy ginger beer. I also ended up getting a Veni Vidi Vespa to go, which came in a fun adult capri sun pouch! The Pontius Pilate beer was a great NEIPA, juicy and nicely balanced. We bought some of that to take home. I also tried the You Down with OCP which is an oatmeal creampie kettle sour! I've had oatmeal cream pie beers before, but never a sour version. This was really nicely done - it actually tasted just like an oatmeal cream pie. I was impressed. For food, we ordered the prosciutto di parma and the cacio e pepe, Lustina style. The pizzas were both excellent but I think I preferred the cacio e pepe just a bit more. It has a lot more going on with smoked gouda, mozzarella, crema di parmesan, cracked black pepper, arugula and vinaigrette, fennel sausage, and pickled banana peppers. I personally loved the creaminess from the crema di parmesan and the pop of acidity from the pickled banana peppers. The prosciutto di parma was very good too! I could tell that all the ingredients were high quality and very fresh. I would definitely try more pizzas as they all sounded great. The crust is wood fired and thin yet still has a doughy outside crust for crust lovers. The only complaint I had about our visit is that when we arrived with our friends who have a baby, the music was SO LOUD. Like, it sounds like we're at a rock concert loud. In my old age this is something that I've come to dislike at restaurants, especially when there are little kids around or I have to yell to be heard by my companions. Luckily it seemed like they turned it down and switched it to something a little more soothing after we sat down so that was great.
