Google
First time here. Lots of good beer on tap. Ethan had some great recommendations. Dog friendly - on the front patio with my three pups. Can't wait to go back!

Google
This beer smells like Budweiser… it’s okay. The next one tasted like a dark lager. I think it was. It was great! This place is great because of the staff. It would be alot cooler if they sold sponge bob ice cream bars… just saying!? Also Don’t let the owner bully you into a 10 pound mug. #vibing #coolrunningsisagreatmovie

Google
We love this local spot. We love the Wednesday happy hour flights and learning more about beer. Really fun, chill atmosphere.

David HUDGENS

Google
Cool brewery that's neighborhood friendly, dog friendly, and comfortable. Beer menu changes constantly.

Google
Nice staff and a solid selection of beers from the Chicago area and beyond. Quite a few draft options as well.

Google
My wife and I randomly discovered this place, and it didn't disappoint! We were hoping to find a chill spot to grab a drink with low-key vibes, and this was exactly the place we were looking for. They have fantastic beer, easy-going nature, and it just feels like a place you want to hang. They have an awesome array of board games which we love, and took part in. We had to cut the night short but it was a spot we could have stayed for hours. We now know exactly where to hit up next time we go to Highwood!

Google
5 🎖️ for food = 5 🎖️ for drinks I would come here every day. It’s like your favorite coffee shop except they serve beer instead of lattes. No food served, but you can bring food from next door. Lots of board games, comfy seating, super knowledge staff, and a great rewards program to boot.

Google
Cute cute little place that serves all sorts of local beer. Beers cycle in and out, so you may not get the same beer if you go more than once. Owner/server is very passionate about the beers they were serving!

Yelp
Great place to take visitors to sit and have a beer. The staff is very friendly and honestly want you to have a good experience trying new beers. The place is filled with small cozy places with board games and cards to fill any space in the conversation. The seats are comfy, and there is beer of all types to satisfy your wants. They are a bit expensive ($7-9/pint) but they are local and it's a small space mostly for tasting the beer and not aiming to drink yourself into oblivion. TL;DR: Good beer in a good environment

Karyn M.

Yelp
We brought our friend, a beer lover, to this casual corner joint. He got a great kick out of the wide selection. Most of the seats were filled so he got a few cans to go. They offer $4 off each can if you take it to-go.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE The beer list is amazing. We went last week and we were very impressed with the beer list. I feel like a lot of brewery's have 80% IPAs and that's about it. This beer list had Sours, and a huge assortment of other beers. The inside is very cute, as well as the outdoor patio area. Ethan working was incredibly kind, attentive and knowledgeable he was able to recommend things and let us try a few things which were all delicious. Great service these days is very hard to come by and he was an absolute gem. We had a wonderful time, highly recommend. Also, another great idea - hit up Buffos trivia on Mondays and get amazing beer after at Beermiscuous :)

Yelp
Beermiscuous is a super cool establishment where you can bring your own food to eat and try different beers that they hedge to offer. In my first recent visit, my party and I picked up food from a nearby restaurant and came here to try different beers. The bar was not busy. We were able to grab a table for us to sit and eat right away. After we secured the table, we then checked out their beer offerings. They have 16 beers on tap with most of them from local breweries. Then, they have several varieties of craft brews in bottles and cans in their cooler with price per bottle/ can. Those can be bought to go as well. We ordered a couple of beer flights (choice of four each) and a small glass of beer. The beers we tried were really good. I liked my flight. I can't remember my beers' names, but if you look at one of my photos with tap beers menu, see #1, #5, #6, and #12. That's what I ordered. My favorites were #5 Japanese Rice Lager and #6 Fruited Sour made from Mango, Pineapple, and Lime. There was good music playing, and there were board games for anyone to indulge in. They have nice comfy chairs and couches besides barstools as well a patio. The staff member that helped was friendly and provided good service. We had a good experience and had a fun time hanging out here. I will be going back here for sure. If you haven't checked out this establishment, then definitely check them out.

Yelp
Beermiscuous is a cute little place in Highwood with indoor and outdoor seating. The bar area has 16 taps of with beers from local breweries. I tried a fabulous raspberry wheat beer. You can get a large pour, or a sampler size. I was impressed with the coolers that were filled with a large selection of beers and ciders. All are from local breweries. So many to try. Beermiscous does not have food, but you may bring food in, and there are so many restaurants around the area. We sat outside when we visited. They have plenty of tables and umbrellas. There were a variety of people enjoying drafts and eating food they brought.

Michael W.

Yelp
I have always wanted to stop in and check this place out and finally did so recently. All local-ish beers featured, a good number on tap, plenty in cans in the cooler, this is NOT a brewery; but they do feature and sell product from many breweries. The digital board tells you the tap menu. The labeling system for the cooler is color coded and pretty intuitive. The staff working are extremely knowledgable regarding their inventory and are more than happy to tell you anything you want to know. There are snacky type things for sale, or you can bring food with. There are plenty of board games to be had, seating is available inside (it's Chicago afterall); and an astro turf area available outside with good tunes provided free of charge. Close to the train, close to new apartment living options, this is a solid addition to the neighborhood.

Dylan M.

Yelp
Love this place! They specialize in local Chicagoland breweries. They offer 16 beers on tap from various breweries (they don't brew themselves). They also offer a huge selection of single can options in their coolers which you can drink in or take home. The take home pricing is $4 off the marked pricing in the cooler. Wednesday offers 1/2 flight specials which is a great way to sample what they have on tap at an affordable price. The staff is really nice and very knowledgeable. While they don't serve food (beyond chips) you can bring in food from other establishments to enjoy with their beer. Great taco place around the corner. Oh and sign up for their rewards program app and get money back.

Yelp
Good beer selection and cool environments. Would recommend for beer and good socialization

Smiley R.

Yelp
Knowledgeable staff. Great games available for playing. Relaxing fun setting. Smaller but good selection to go. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Catherine M.

Yelp
This is are most visited place in Highwood. They have the BEST beer on tap and in cans! All local. THE STAFF KNOWS SO MUCH ABOUT THEIR BEERS! We often pick up food from one of the many places near by. There are so many restaurants walkable distance from Beermiscuous. Inside is cozy and the outside (in season) is spacious.

Josh G.

Yelp
There are lots of great places in Highwood to explore. I will add Beermiscuous to this list as well. I have been wanting to try Beermiscuous for a while but there has been a lot going on in the world. I finally was able to visit this past weekend when the weather has been much improved and indoor dining has re-opened. There's plenty of parking throughout Highwood, most of it on street. First, they have some great options for non-beer drinkers like cider and mead which I consider a plus because not everyone likes beer when venturing to beer establishments. They have a fairly extensive draft list and a very large amount of beer by the can as well. Beermiscuous totally felt like a cozy beer cafe where you could just chill out during an afternoon. I had the Proximal first which is a Rye Barrel Aged Barleywine, which was robust, and had some good barrel aging behind it. This is definitely one you savor in winter by a fire to warm up but anytime is a great time for Barleywine! My second beer of choice was Biggles Seizes the Means which is a Strong Ale actually made by Beermiscuous in Chicago, so I thought that was neat. It had a good amount of maltiness with some subtle notes of hops. I really enjoyed Beermiscuous and will be back in the future. I really enjoyed the Chicago beer timeline on the wall and counting how many different breweries in the Chicago area that I have visited over the years.

Tr Y.

Yelp
Great staff & a great selection of beer. Plus they let you bring in food from Highwoods many restaurants!

Frank R.

Yelp
If you're looking for a quick beer/drink before grabbing dinner, I highly recommend Beermiscuous! Wide variety for anyone and everyone to find something to try out for the first time. It's fun to not only see what different breweries there are nearby, but to see the amazing artwork on the cans, as well! You can order food nearby and enjoy out on the patio (recommend the taco place across the street)

Cody M.

Yelp
They do have great beers but the atmosphere is always great. Probably my favorite place on the north shore to grab a beer. Please bring back Bar top seating.

Len L.

Yelp
What, really? I have not reviewed Beermiscuous? This place is great. About twenty beers on tap, maybe half are standard craft beer and the other half you will not find elsewhere. All are delicious. There are at least 100 cans and bottles in the cooler too, and you can take those with you when you go. If you want. The space is large and comfortable. No food but you can get some tacos or a burger from The Mean Weiner so stop your complaining.

Jason P.

Yelp
Awesome place to grab a beer. They also allow dogs! There are about 15 tap beers and a crazy amount of bottled/canned beers to try out. You can also take beers to go for a great price! I grabbed some tacos from the place next door and enjoyed some drinks with the wife. I will be returning soon!

Erin F.

Yelp
We love this spot, Phil and Ziggy are awesome. The rotating selection is fantastic, the vibe is warm and relaxed. An equally great place to spend a cold winter afternoon or a sunny happy hour. So many options for carry out. We're Seattle transplants who miss the beer scene...really grateful to discover this gem in our neighborhood. If you're in Highwood make time to stop in, even if you only have time to grab a few to go. Kid and dog friendly!

Kristen G.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. The bartender is SO rude. Do yourself a favor and go a few doors down to Kings & Convicts Brewing Co, Highwood. They were so friendly. I'm so glad we made the change!

Jim H.

Yelp
Great place with great music, great atmosphere, great sidewalk cafe, huge selection of brews. The owner is super helpful in making selections. Support local brewers and local shops and visit this gem.

Jenny M.

Yelp
Went here for the first time with my boyfriend the other day, I loved the atmosphere and the beer was excellent. We also got to take home a couple cans of beer. I loved the cafe style of the shop and I was glad that I got to go to a place that wasn't like your average bar or club, I was also happy that I could feel safe drinking alone while my bf went to his car or to the bathroom for a minute without worrying about getting hurt or being bothered.

John W.

Yelp
Laid back, comfy craft beer bar focused mainly on Chicagoland breweries and featuring 16 beers on tap, with new brews rotating in regularly. Also an interesting, eclectic selection of bottles and cans (singles) to drink there or take to go. I've always found the staff helpful and friendly. Beers can sometimes be a bit on the expensive side, but they often have specials (a fav is half priced flights). There are several excellent taco places very walkable if you want to bring food, which we always do. Parking is rarely an issue, even after they turned a few spots into an outdoor seating area. Also, definitely kid friendly.

Cody J.

Yelp
Great place to stop and soak in the evening. Fantastic options on tap and an interesting variety of local brews in cans and bottles.

April P.

Yelp
Excellent service and a varying selection of craft brews. They have a nice reward program.

Ashley C.

Yelp
I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could! My partner and I hangout here often with our pup, Kiwi and she loves meeting folks and sometimes other dogs. Great selection of craft beer, knowledgeable bartenders (Ziggy & Phil are awesome), open minded people who frequent the establishment and even made some friends here! You can order food from a kitchen they partnered with, or bring in your own food. It's a chill ambient where people feel at ease to hangout and unwind.

S S.

Yelp
I don't even like beer (I just got a root beer) but the atmosphere in this place is awesome. It's so cute and unique that I'll be back for another (root beer).

Snoop D.

Yelp
Great selection of cans, bottles and local drafts! Can also carryout beers. Very relaxed atmosphere and warm decor.

Jessica J.

Yelp
I've been here a number of times. Good people, good number of great tasting beers and love the environment. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs are allowed

Andy M.

Yelp
A great craft beer and liquor store with o ly good quality beer and not tge bad corn beer of miller and Budweiser. There are plenty of board games to play here and unique I dependent beer brands of craft quality to choose from and this is a welcome addition to the great bar and drinking tradition that is this far North suburban downtown location. I was really impressed with the great local and national beer choices here and recommend people passing to stop here whether they want a sit down or vardy out experience

P Y.

Yelp
Ok place. Lots of beer choices in cans from the fridge, I think over 200. Beer cans are expensive though $6 - $15. They have 16 beers on tap which they rotate regularly. Beer on tap is reasonable to expensive depending on the beer. You can ask to taste any beer on tap, but they give you about one drop, literally. Considering they rinse each glass before serving, every tasting tastes like water. So you can't actually sample any beer unless you do a flight. Just added a beer garden out front. But nothing special considering all the other options in Highwood.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Great new version of Beermiscuous in Highwood. Was a bit of a trip up north for me, but worth it to see how they are translating what has worked in Lakeview to the new suburban location. Smaller selection, but still a thoughtful one. A nice open space with a more centrally located bar. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be sure to stop by.

Christy O.

Yelp
Great beer, excellent selection, best bartender recommendations! I've been going here since it opened and learning and expanding my beer preferences through the tutelage of Phil and Ziggy. The atmosphere is so comfy and laid back, it truly feels like a 'coffee shop for beer'. Don't go there looking for a scene, you will be disappointed. Do go there looking for something to delight your taste buds and feel a sense of community and camaraderie over good beer and interesting conversations. During the summer months the garage door opens and the sun rests kindly on the outdoor patio, great place to read or hang with a friend. Love it.

Northshore Nelly N.

Yelp
Great beer selection - I think there were 70+ bottles and cans and 13 local beers on tap. Definitely an upgrade from the last place that was there in terms of ambience. There are big leather couches and every possible board/ card game. People are nice and it's a clean, cozy, neighborhood spot.

Todd K.

Yelp
Really appreciate the curated cases during the COVID-19 quarantine. It's a good mix of beers and it's always a surprise. If you like to explore different styles of beer and like Christmas morning I'd highly recommend a curated case.

Patti J.

Yelp
Beer was okay, and I appreciated getting 4 ounce pours - more than that can be too much sometimes. What I did not like was how the staff overtly stated how much more upscale the place was compared to the old beer place in the same location. Making customers go to one specific place to place their orders rather than waiting on customers is upscale? Hmmm. No. The quality of the staff can make or break a business. Keep that in mind.

Kristina K.

Yelp
Beermiscuous is a very chill place to have craft beer. It has an excellent rotating tap list and beers to go, which you can also consume at the bar. The ambiance is nice, with a living room vibe section, as well as tables and seats at the bar.

Albert L.

Yelp
Excellent addition to the area. A really great place to meet up and have conversation over drinks. The beers on the 15 or so taps regularly change, but are usually relatively interesting. Better yet, they have a huge variety of single bottles/cans in a fridge, although the prices feel a bit steeper vs. tap. Wine selection looks pretty limited and generic, but it is a beer spot after all. A major plus for me is that they have outdoor seating, which is pet friendly. The indoors is relatively small, but the seating is nicely arranged so it's not cramped. They have board games on site. You can bring whatever food you want to eat (there are a few solid places immediately nearby within walking distance). Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and thirsty.

Emily O.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere, service, and beer selection! I went with a group of friends on New Year's Eve and we loved hanging out at this cozy spot with some great drinks and board games. The bartender, Phil, was so friendly and made some excellent drink recommendations (he pointed me to a new favorite cider). Will definitely be going back!
