16 Juicy Burgers in the East Bay

"This popular beer garden is an Oakland institution, known for its lively outdoor patio, boozy slushies, and charred burgers and sausage sandwiches. Those looking for a particularly decadent burger experience can opt for the 5150, which has a patty that’s half beef, half ground-up bacon, or the mac and cheese burger, which is exactly what it sounds like, a burger topped with mac and cheese. Even vegetarians have multiple — well, two — options: an Impossible burger and one featuring a chipotle black bean patty." - Dianne de Guzman, Luke Tsai

On the Grid : Lost & Found Beer Garden

"With loads of bevies, food and garden-y greenness, Lost & Found is an inviting space you could stay for hours. It’s not too hipster and certainly not posh, though the inside is welcoming and spacious. The back deck is really where the party's at, with picnic tables, ping-pong and corn-hole games at the ready and plenty of umbrellas for that mid-day heat. Don't skip out too soon though, a sweet shift happens during the golden hour as the sun sets and market string lights twinkle above." - Arcsine

"Known for its clever Beeryland sign, Telegraph has a full bar, a big list of beers, and slushies. Where to Eat and Drink in Oakland's Northgate-Waverly Neighborhood - Eater SF

"This outdoor "Beeryland" brought some much needed late night food and solid beers on draft to the Uptown/Northgate food scene. It's outfitted with picnic tables, over a dozen beers on tap, a full bar, and graffiti-covered walls. Feast on an array of burgers and sandwiches like the Kono Burger (add kimchi), a delightful veggie burger, a vegan green bean sandwich, and the now infamous 2FAT2SK8 Burger, which combines the 5150 patty (half Angus beef, half bacon) and comes topped with grilled mac and cheese." - Rodrigo Ormachea, Ellen Fort, Janelle Bitker

Google
What an Oakland classic. This spot is how you know that you're in Oakland. All you need is 3 brick walls, some graffiti/murals, and a beer. They got good drinks here and I would recommend this spot during first Fridays for the cultural experience. 8.7/10 Pro Tip: get lit before come for cost saving

Google
Berryland in Oakland isn’t just a good burger joint—it’s the burger joint. The kind of place that leaves such an impression, you find yourself back two days in a row, and then again on your next visit to town. Every burger is top-tier, but the chopped cheese? Unbelievable. It’s the kind of meal that lingers in your mind long after you’ve left, a combination of flavors so perfect you start planning your next visit before you even finish your first bite. Beyond the food, the atmosphere holds up. Friendly staff, great beers, and a place that just feels like somewhere worth spending time. If you’re in Oakland and appreciate a truly unforgettable burger, Berryland needs to be on your list.

Google
Vegan tofu sandwich was pretty good! They also have a vegan veggie burger. Thanks for the vegetarian vegan options.

Google
A really decent burger before the fox theater. Beer was decently priced, slushy normal cocktail prices but that's the norm.

Google
Messed up the custom grilled cheese order (among other things adding an enviable quantity of avocado, which could have been great had that been desired) and immediately fixed it with no guff, no issues. Note that the cocktail menu rorates: don't get too attached to a favorite, and be ready to discover new favorites.

Google
Love this place! Beeryland is the laid back outdoor beer garden of your urban day dreams. Two bars so the lines never get too long, pinball, fire pits, plenty of community style seating. They host Star Trek trivia once a month and the place is hopping. Great selection of beers, plus some good alternatives like boozy slushees and NA options.

Google
A great find! We wanted a bite to eat before seeing a concert at the Fox Theater and I am always up for a new beer adventure! The food was good ... It came out from the kitchen quickly! Nice variety of beers. A good place for hanging out!

We went after Oakland 1st Friday! Food was delicious and the vibes very pleasant & lively

Yelp
Great selection of burgers. I had the Smokehouse which was great but also huge. The side of Grilled Mac & Cheese was very good and easily something two people can share. They also have many beer & drink options, including slushy drinks. I had a pumpkin ale draft beer. Outdoor seating but I was under the roofed area which also has plenty of heaters along the ceiling. Conveniently located down Telegraph from the Moxy Hotel if you happen to stay there.

Yelp
Chill spot to hang out in Uptown with beers, cocktails, and frozen slushies! Plus they have a solid food menu with a number of burgers and sandwich options. My party of 3 came for a quick drink Saturday night around 8:30 pm. We wanted to go to another bar nearby originally, but it was closed for a private event so we headed here instead. There are two main seating areas, one in their outdoor patio with one central heat lamp, and an open indoor seating area with overhead heat lamps. It was much warmer inside, so we opted to sit inside. The indoor area has a big projector screen with a movie playing. Subtitles were turned on, as they were also playing music very loudly. It was honestly a bit hard to talk with the loud music. We went up to the bar to order. Since it's a beer garden, I expected to see mostly beer options, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the selection. in addition to beer ($8 for all drafts), they have a couple of cocktails as well as seasonal holiday cocktails, all for $12. They also have alcoholic frozen slushies. I got a glass of the mango nada (tequila + mango) for ~$12. I wasn't a huge fan of the mango nada as it was too sweet, but I really like the vibes here. It was a chill place to hang on a Saturday night in Oakland.

Yelp
This was a nice find for Jamie W. and me. We had bought tickets for "Barbie" at The New Parkway nearby. We had a half-hour to kill before laying our eyes on Ryan Gosling's abs of steel and Barbie's Dream House (in that order). Initially we weren't interested in beer and burgers. Geez, do we look like frat dudes? It was an open air space with worn picnic tables and the brick walls covered with murals. Actually their food menu was quite extensive. A lot of burgers and a lot of sandwiches though no fries. Also a lot of draft beers and a good set of cocktails. Sounded like a frat party to us, but then we noticed they offered different flavors of slushies, five of six with alcohol. Even with frozen $14 temptations like Daiquiri and Paloma, we were most drawn to the Mangonada. It's one of my favorite Mexican treats. In its original form, it featured mango sorbet, chamoy, and fresh mango spears. The transformation here turned it into a refreshing Tequila Sunrise slushie with vodka and mango puree mixed together with the chamoy and the pint glass rimmed with chili lime seasoning (photo: https://bit.ly/3YGXKAx). The result was tantalizing. The vibe here was convivially urban as it was a mix of tech heads (yes, free WiFi), hipsters, and even young families. Fun on a weekend afternoon. COCKTAILS - 4 stars...the slushies get quite addicting AMBIANCE - 4 stars...honestly like a block party in the inner city SERVICE - 4 stars...cheery staff TOTAL - 4 stars...hard to imagine not having fun here RELATED - Exploring Oakland? Yelp
This is one of my favorite bars in Oakland! On a hot day, they have bomb slushies that'll cool you down, my favorite is the mangonada. On a chilly day, I'll go with the 2 step, shot and a beer that'll warm you up for around $10, oh yes they also have heaters. The burgers/sandwiches are straight legit here, don't sleep on them. Perfect place to start your night or end it on a good note.

Yelp
I was on a burger tour and Telegraph Beer Garden was 3rd and last on my list so I was already pretty full. Got the 5150 burger which is as mix of beef and bacon patty with lettuce, tomato, onion, and sauce. It also came with a side of chips. The burger itself was pretty juicy and flavorful, probably because of the bacon but felt really heavy. I loved that it was a soft pillow-y brioche bun and the veggies helped cut through the fat. Their alcoholic slushies area also really good too! They seem to have a lot of events going on during to the week so a good place to hang out and grab a bite.

Yelp
I came here under the impression they may not have an impossible burger. BUT THEY DO! So glad they do. I ordered an impossible burger w/cheese, overall one of the best burgers ever. Def was made with love. I asked for no tomatoes and received tomatoes, but it was an easy fix I just removed it. The other burger that was ordered was a fade 2 black. My friend was thinking about getting a burger for the past week from here. I asked him how he would describe his burger. He said "bussin." Lmaooo. We received the salt & vinegar chips and the funky fusion. Salt & vinegar was alright. Not something I would pick normally. The funky fusion was amazing, def would pick this one next time. We came during a warriors & laker game, not too packed but def cold. We sat near one of the fire heaters, still cold from the breeze. We moved to the tables in front of the screen & there's heaters up top, extremely warmer there. Service was 10/10, food was 10/10, environment was 10/10. Def coming back here.

Yelp
Went up for the "dollar beer Monday's " as advertised for years. When I ordered the bartender said that was an old advertisement from 2020. That was a lie. I was in here last October and they had dollar beers. Update your website or honor it! Don't you ever lie to a customer holding cash! Sorry I support you during Covid but you pushed the profits. Have a nice day.

Yelp
I love beer gardens and my group of friends and I had a great time here (AKA Telegraph Beer Garden). Lots of space, an upscale menu for a beer garden, excellent cocktails, and great service. Outdoor heaters for when the sun goes down. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Merra K.

Yelp
Perhaps I'm not a huge fan of such a thick patty and prefer smash burgers. Had the burger with black garlic. While the brioche bun was great, I felt like the meat itself lacked the required flavor punch. Service was friendly and drinks were good. Relaxed vibes not crowded. Dog friendly.

Yelp
This is the perfect spot to hang out with friends. They have great music playing, gorgeous artwork all over, and a good selection of beer. Their burgers are very juicy and flavorful. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
Fantastic burgers! Juicy and full of flavor. The drinks are good, too. They don't have a fryer, so you get kettle chips instead. There is is table service and it's very laid back atmosphere. The neighborhood is definitely for daytime only, fyi.

Yelp
$1 Monday lager !! My friend and me are bar hopping, beer and food is amazing!! The service is fast and friendly, the outdoor patio is awesome . The heaters were amazing for the patio.

Yelp
I was bummed to read the Yelp reviews of the negative service experiences since this has been a favorite go-to spot for my occasional Oakland visits to meet up with East Bay friends. It has a nice beer garden and I love the frozen drinks. However, it was extremely disappointing to actually experience a level of rudeness I've never seen before at a bar. Even at dive bars known for gruff no-nonsense bartenders-- it's all business but never outright rude and offensive. I'm shocked and saddened. When one of the inside bartenders brought out my friends' food, rather than ask them to clear some space, she said "um, I need space to put this down." No "please" or question mark in sight. When we were leaving half of us cleared the table but some of us forgot so there were three glasses still on the table. The bouncer physically blocked out the way out and said "we have bussing stations right there." I was pretty shocked to be prohibited from leaving-- I'm happy to bus my own table as a courtesy to the wait staff, but really weird and off-putting to be required to do so and trapped until we've done so. I think I may have seen one sign requesting patrons bus their tables but I don't remember seeing that we *have to* do so before we're allowed to leave. When I brought the glasses to the bussing station, the same "um, I need space" lady first thanked me for bringing the glasses but when they fell over in the tray and I immediately apologized, her response was "let's be smart about this." Overall just a shockingly unpleasant experience when I really just hope to be treated as a normal human being rather than I guess an underling coworker. The outside bar staff were fine-- no bells and whistles, but they were all business and gave us our drinks and took our money. That's all I really expect and want. Goodbye Beeryland-- it was good while it lasted but you've picked up some really toxic staff along the way. Being rude to my friends and trapping me in the bar like I'm a child until I clear my dishes doesn't work for me. I'll go back to my dive bars where the gruff bartenders are all business but won't treat me like trash. You clearly don't want my business, and I have no interest in working for you. Good luck to you if you decide to keep around staff that treat patrons like staff trainees to whom they can bark orders.

Yelp
It's a good bar but my burger was just straight up burnt. I like the idea of a porchetta burger and I still think it's a good idea after trying theirs. But the execution was really lacking. I'd also have gone with like a full centimeter slice of porchetta and not griddling it as hard because you want some of that fat. Porchetta is not meant to be lean. Still going with 3 stars because it's a sweet bar. Maybe I was there on an off day and I'll update if I go back for... probably a patty melt.

Yelp
So I haven't been here for a minute. I'm talking many years. And so happy to be back. Such a chill spot with fun drinks and a great beer list. I had a Mangonada slushie and it was perfect. I drooled as I watched others eat the burger. Probably still one of the best in the East Bay. Service was nice. I love the art and feeling like I'm hidden away from the world. Everything was clean. Enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp I.

Yelp
Paid $60 for two burgers and two beers. I was surprised to learn after paying, the beers come in a small 9oz glass. Food was 6/10 - the burgers would have benefited from pickle. And charging extra for cheese was a bummer.
google avatar

Nathan D.

Yelp
Bar food but they have the best BLT. Good for a happy hour after work with coworkers. Great atmosphere.
google avatar

Elma C.

Yelp
My friend was celebrating her birthday here, I was really excited to visit. Cocktails are decent, vegetarian food options are available. One quick note: I asked for some water and had to wait for about 10 minutes. Also, no one asked me if I wanted ice. Am I the only person who doesn't drink room temperature water?

Anais E.

Yelp
Great food and drinks, outdoor tables are great especially when it is sunny! Great place to go if you are meeting a group of friends.
google avatar

Dianne Y.

Yelp
The green bean sandwich used to have mayo or an aioli and maybe a little pesto on it, but now they put balsamic on it instead. It's not as good. FYI for fans of the green bean sandwich.

Monique B.

Yelp
I kindly asked for a metal Knife as the burgers are huge. The lady was white with brunette hair did not get her name. She handed me a plastic knife I asked for a metal knife and she stated they do not give out metal knifes. I go back to my table look around and everyone has a metal knife but me. We were the only black people in there it's actually insane!!! So extremely racist thank you for being up front about it...

Yelp
The idea of this restaurant is great, but the staff is clueless. When our server brought our burgers to the table, I asked if someone could turn the outside heater on (it was cold and windy and no indoor seating is available). She told me I needed to ask the guy at the entrance. Really? She was just as close to the entrance as me, but I had just received my meal and -- oh yeah -- I don't work there. I went to the entrance anyway and no guy was there. I mentioned it to her and she went looking for him. In the end, the heater was never turned on. I mentioned it to her as I was leaving and she didn't apologize. She said she got busy. Well, she wasn't the only employee there, so if she feels comfortable delegating a task to her customer, why the F couldn't she delegate it to someone who actually works there?! The burger was pretty good, but I'd rather hand over $20 to a business that at least pretends to give a damn about its customers. Never going back.

Yelp
So, eating out is a treat for me. I can't eat huge quantities of food and I can't eat at restaurants very often. Beeryland has been one of those treats for which I make an exception. I like the Impossible burger piled high with fresh veggies. And delicious potato chips to go with it, well there used to be delicious potato chips. It used to be Dirty brand potato chips in a bag. That was great. That's a delicious brand of potato chips no matter which flavor. Then y'all switched to potato chips scattered on the burger tray. That was okay because the chips were still a delicous brand. Not any more. Went onNovember 16, 2024 and the chips are just random chips without much texture or flavor. The potato chips sucked. Please fix this. I'm taking your place out of my rotation if this happens again. Just can't spare the $ or calories if the food starts to suck. If you are going to adjust the food, shouldn't you make it better, not worse?
google avatar

Linda N.

Yelp
Awesome place to grab a beer and good eats. Enter and you'll see rows of tables and benches, good for small and large groups. To the right, an entrance leads to the counter to order food. Lookin for booze? No worries, keep walking towards the back and on the right is a small bar. This is a no frills joint. The burger was surprisingly good; moist meat, good flavor. No options for fries, *sadness* but chips are accompanied with your burger. Good service. One small feedback would be to lower the music just a tad.
google avatar

Dee O.

Yelp
We enjoyed our time at Beeryland and so did the pup! We really appreciate dog friendly establishments. Also, the food was good! We had a burger, tuna melt, and side of the grilled mac and cheese. We were so full the mac and cheese had to be boxed and it was still good the next day. We will be back and when we return I want to try a slushie. I wanted to give 4 stars because they don't have french fries which I find to be sacrilegious when burgers are being served but we had such a good time you have to give credit where credit is due. Fingers crossed future experiences will be just as delightful!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice outdoor space with beer, slushies (alcoholic and non), and food. Didn't see any reviews or pictures of the Miyami sandwich, so here we are. It's a fun and tasty sandwich. I liked the interplay of textures. Unfortunately I thought it was overly balsamic. The jalapeños added a nice crunch. I'd skip the avocado next time since there were only 2 small pieces which didn't seem worth the $1.50 upgrade, but it also didn't add anything to the sandwich. Grilled Mac and cheese was tasty but ultimately I prefer gooey Mac and cheese so this wasn't my favorite. Would happily return and try other food. The patio is great, staff are friendly and efficient, and beers are solid.

Yelp
Go on a gastronomic trip with psychedelic murals and mouthwatering food. The 51-50 burger is one of my favorite burgers in the Bay Area. The outdoor atmosphere of this place is fantastic and the service from the staff never disappoints. A must try! Pro Tip: this place goes by multiple names- Telegraph Beer Garden, Beeryland, Telegraph, etc
google avatar

Yelp
We came early for beer and lunch and were not disappointed. I'll go back the next time I'm in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty busy during the First Friday festival but they were still met a lot of the customers' needs. We ordered the mango slush but they had to churn it right when we ordered it. They kindly comp our other drinks!
google avatar

Yelp
Tasty burgers and sandos for the carnivores, the herbivores and everyone in between. Jovial Staff. Casual outdoor dining adorned with colorful murals and wooden picnic tables. Nice variety of seasonal cocktails, slushies and beer. Nearby street parking is easy to find. (5/5) Impossible Burger: One of the best veg-based patties I've ever tasted; flavorful, juicy & well-seasoned. (4/5) Mac & Cheese burger: when you crave carbs, meat and gooey cheese... and nothing else will do. (4/5) Green Bean Sandwich: crispy green beans tossed in vinaigrette, cheese & pesto make tasty flavor combo, tho it easily falls apart. (4/5) Cucumber Pickles: balanced acidity, thick crunchy slices

Yelp
I really love the burgers at Telegraph Beer Garden. I don't know what they do to season them (soy sauce?) but they are super savory and delicious. I wish they served french fries, but they have signage touting their "fry free" zone. Haters. Wednesday nights are for Boozy Bingo hosted by Wild Bill. It's pretty fun, you might win a drink, food, or some schwag. There's a giant mural by GATS (Graffiti Against the System), and plenty of other cool street art to look at inside.

Yelp
Beeryland! I came here and got the Mac and Cheese burger which was really juicy and delicious. We went on a Monday so beer cans were only $1.This beer garden has both outdoor and indoor seating and dogs are allowed which was nice to see! I sat outside with my friends and chatted for some time while we ate our burgers and drank pitchers of beer. When it's dark outside, there aren't that many lights or heaters outside, so make sure to bring a jacket. The place generally has a very chill vibe where people can just wind down after a long day.

Rosemary G.

Yelp
It was my first time at beeryland! The artwork on the walls surrounding you are all great pieces, and there is a heat lamp in the middle of the tables to keep you as warm as possible. **Bring jackets and correct outerwear, as only the center tables keep the heat. It all feels quite casual and cozy, while also being a cute little date spot. Couple things to note: Food and drinks are good, but overpriced. I got a burger (with no additional add-ons) and a slushie and my total was $33 (almost $40 after tip). You aren't able to pick your chip selection either. I had the Fade to Black burger for $16, and enjoyed it (it was smaller than the average burger though)! It wasn't a busy night, as at least 70% of the tables were empty, but my burger took 20 minutes. Not complaining about the wait, just be aware because I'm sure the wait times quickly add up when it picks up on the weekend. My slushie was okay. I would personally not spend $16 on that slushie again, but am happy I got to try it! My friends enjoyed their IPA and ginger beers! I've seen a couple notes on the service, but honestly it's quick and friendly. You just go up, order, and they don't bother you again. I asked a couple questions, since it was my first time and they were sweet in responding. Also came around to pet our dog which I personally always love. You do bus your own table which takes 30 seconds and I kinda enjoyed not being bothered when I was eating. I would absolutely come back again. I think the burger is good, and the flavors are great in the one I ordered. I would maybe skip out on the drinks next time!

Sebastian D.

Yelp
The first straight long brown & lightly colored strand of hair neatly tucked away in one side their diagonally cut tuna melt was forgivable. I discreetly brought it to the cashier's attention and got a free black lager. No problem. The second separate strand in the other piece of the tuna melt didn't bother me either until I got home. I figured and had to process that I'd just spent $50 (including the 20% tip) (1.5 working hours for me at age 35) to take my wife out, after hardly ever taking her out to to raise this newborn, to pull hairs out a sandwich and say nothing as to not ruin our outing for her sake, right? Both hairs, neatly tucked in both separate pieces. I would have rather you not wash your hands, write me a note to never come back, told me what I did to deserve that, and call the the n-word, all in that one seating & experience. You can keep the hairs on your head. That was a sly way of that entire team making me feel embarrassed & undervalued. Yeah, I'm losing sleep over it a little.

Ranit D.

Yelp
I brought outside food in thinking it was ok since it was a Biergarten. We bought beers and tipped well, yet I was very rudely told outside food was not allowed. It was a cold Saturday and no one was there. It's one thing to enforce a rule, but how you do it also matters.
google avatar

Joey N.

Yelp
A lot of beer options and definitely a good place to include in your bar-hopping with friends. Recommend for a big group as that's how the patio setup is like
google avatar

Paris B.

Yelp
Food is fine, but service is not great. It starts at the door, with an overly aggressive ID checker. His job seems to be keeping the homeless people from wandering in, which is understandable in the location. But he takes this as an opportunity to harass anyone that's trying to eat here, and must pass by this literal gatekeeper.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing burgers!!!! Finally tried the food in this cool beer garden. Couldn't help but order the mac and cheese burger. It was absolutely delicious, from the perfectly grilled sesame seed bun, juicy flavorful medium well patty, to the crisp-edged and creamy Mac and cheese, fresh tomato/lettuce, and special sauce. The menu boasted several burgers and sandwiches that I am excited to try in future visits. There is one that has the Mac and cheese between two 6 oz patties. Also want to try the porchetta sandwich. There is an outdoor patio to sit as well as indoor area with booths. Lots of beer options! Service was no nonsense and prompt. This place definitely has a lot of character and look forward to coming back!

Yelp
One word to describe this place: groovy! Telegraph (formerly known as Beeryland) has a very fun atmosphere. The wall paintings and decor are very colorful and fun. The Mac & Cheese Hamburger is to die for! The mac n cheese tasted fresh like Homemade and the sauce was delicious -- I even used the remnants as a dip for the chips. The drinks were pricey but refreshing under the sun.

Yelp
This place has the thumbs up from a group of hungry swimmers! We stopped by Telegraph after practice so you know we were ravenous. We were also looking for a good place to chat over a beer, since we can't exactly talk to each other under water. Telegraph (also often referred to as "Beeryland") checked the hangout spot and food boxes pretty well. I was initially bummed we were coming here cause I didn't think there would be any good non-meat options. I was wrong. I had a veggie burger with mac and cheese on top and positively wolfed it down. It was one of the better veggie burgers I've had around this part of Oakland. I had it with a campfire stout and it really hit the spot. With that said, I do think for a beer garden their beer selection could be improved. I like darker, sweeter beers and the options were a little lacking. The ambiance was pretty good to hang out and chat. The atmosphere is almost a little intentionally grungy but definitely not gross or excessive. Just know that it's not a fancy, trendy beer garden. They've got lots of outdoor seating at tables and benches and when it's nice out, it's great! They have covered indoor/outdoor kinda seating but I didn't see any tried indoor seating, so I'd probably save this place for warm weather or bring a jacket. Very close to public transit. Uptown transit center and 19th st. Bart are both a five minute walk away. Lots of bike parking out front as well. It's also located near a lot of other stuff to do. Could easily hop from beer joint to beer joint or integrate Telegraph into your first Friday. All in all, I like it! Probably not my first choice due to the semi-limited beer selection, but would totally come back if I was with people who wanted to come or I just wanted the delicious veggie burger.

Yelp
i called the pink slushee type drink "strawberry" and the bartender at the time told me "don't associate colors with drinks" at my big age. And i said ur being racist. you wouldn't have said that to anyone else; and he continued to have an attitude w me and said i was talking "sugar honey iced tea" about him... when he was mad over something as simple as me calling something strawberry... very weird

Yelp
What a great vibe! Drinks and food are amazing. Visiting and my first time here was yesterday. This is the type of place I need back home. Super chill, dog friendly, and all around a great atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and helpful. 10/10 would recommend to give this place a go.

Yelp
The best veggie burger I've had is here. The black bean patty has a ton of flavor and I liked how the edges had a nice crisp as I like a bit of texture. The special sauce, also great. My boyfriend really loves their Mac and cheese burger and always gets this anytime we come here. My other go-to here is the tuna melt (not pictured). Also very delicious and highly recommend. I enjoy the beer selection and the cocktails and specials here are great. Definitely one of my favorite places to grab a beer and the major plus is that the food is excellent.

Yelp
Black Patrons Beware: GENERAL MANAGER CHEYENNE MATTHEWS While checking out at lunch today I informed the person at the counter that I had taken a cbd drink from the fridge/asked them to ring it up and they refused to acknowledge me. When I got back in line to follow up, they claimed it was on the original ticket. I explained I simply didn't want to be accused of stealing (a common concern for Black people in the U.S.) and they said I was "weird" and "harassing them". I would hope a 50+ year old WW in Oakland would have a modicum of cultural competence. I pity her and will not return after 10+ years of coming here and having a fine experience.

Yelp
Update Oct 5, 2020. Had a burger craving while in the east bay and thankfully this place was open and boy it did not disappoint. Obviously with covid they have limited hours, menu, and seating but coming during the week service and food were great. The staff are masked, temps taken at the door, and the seating is decreased but safely spaced out. The menu is all contactless using a QR code and it's so simple and easy to use and it linked up to whatever table you're at. The menu isn't their full assortment but have their classic go to burgers and a couple other sandwiches. Drinks options are shrunk down but the service here more then makes up for it. The staff were really friendly and helpful explaining everything. Got the Telegraph burger and chips and it hasn't missed a beat, still as good as I remember one of my favorite burgers in the Bay Area. So big and juicy and flavorful. While it is a bit quieter cause of social distancing, it's still a great place to hang out for a bit outside and get a delicious bite to eat. Will definitely be back to support local business

Yelp
Good way to get your burger fix regardless if you are a meat eater or not. Vaccinations required and they check you at the entrance. Indoor (sort of) and outdoor area are kind of merged together. You can get beer at the place where you order food (super fun guy behind the counter) or go next door for a full bar selection. Very casual place, which is good because the burgers can get messy. We tried the Kono burger, swayed by the kimchi, and it is definitely an eat at the restaurant food - it would not have traveled well. That said, it was unique, in the best sort of how did they think of this way, and tasty and came with a bag of chips that I could not get enough of. The ask is to bus your own table at the end of the meal which you leads you to the area where they make hand sanitizer available (use it because you smell like the burger you just consumed). Street parking was pretty easy to find although you may need to walk around a drug deal in action.

Yelp
Great service! Everyone was super friendly. The vibes were super cute and the food and drinks were reasonably priced. My favorite was the Mac n cheese burger! Great sauce and was cooked perfectly. Would definitely come back with friends.
