Great service with a cool view as well. Got here just in time for happy hour and got to taste some of their food at a great deal. The rosemary fries with truffle ketchup were delicious. The meatballs were fantastic too. Cocktails were well made and their honey beer is a must try! Definitely will return when in the area.

Google
The oysters were tender and perfectly cooked, while the cheese added a rich flavor and creamy texture, creating an amazing combination of tastes. The cocktails with honey were truly interesting and unusual! Their sweetness gave the drinks a special charm and uniqueness. Each sip revealed new flavor nuances, making them a true discovery for cocktail lovers. The classic cocktails were also good, but the honey cocktails stood out with their originality and variety of combinations. They complemented the baked oysters perfectly and created an atmosphere of gastronomic celebration. In the end, the evening was not only delicious but also captivating thanks to these original drinks!

Love this cute, somewhat hidden restaurant. The lunch hits are the beeside burger and the fish sandwich. Appetizers not to miss are the trio of dips, mussels and crab cake. Dinner I would recommend scallops, the whole branzino (you have to debone it but it’s so fresh and delicious it’s completely worth it) or the filet mignon. Ambiance is welcoming and service is on point.

Google
Came here for dinner. Ordered the escargot ($18) and mussels ($26) to share for the appetizers. The escargot had a great flavor, but were quite small and not super tender. The mussels were solid, but weren’t anything super outstanding. For my entree, I got the octopus ($32). The octopus was yummy and tender. There was a good amount of octopus pieces. I tried some of my bf’s barramundi ($32), and it was soft and tender. The appetizers weren’t the best, but the entrees were the stars!

Google
Beeside Balcony. I definitely appreciate the memorable occasion. It was marked by exquisite cuisines, impeccable service, and a stunning ambiance. Another favorite restaurant on our list. I don't normally eat all my food in one sitting but I could not help myself lol. Back to the gym tomorrow 💪

Google
Made reservations here for my wife’s birthday and we were seated outside. It was very hot this day and the sun was in our eyes making it hard for us to read the menu. We asked the server if we could sit inside because of the sun and heat and he said there was only room at the bar so we took the seats. When we sat down at the bar, we were facing the entire restaurant which kind of felt awkward, but we just tried to enjoy the meal. The restaurant was small then we thought. We ordered the crabcake, the Gyro, and the Beeside burger with a side of truffle fries. The crabcake was pretty good, but it was more like a crab ball than a crab cake. The salad that came with the crabcake was also very good but we wish we had more of it. The Gyro came with large chunks of tough meat making it difficult to eat and the meat wasn’t well seasoned and was $24. The B-side burger was okay. It wasn’t anything special with very limited toppings and cost $21. The truffle fries were okay as well. Nothing special.. Overall, just a mid experience nothing really special about this place.

You can taste the difference of the food at this restaurant. Patiently and carefully prepared and cooked. The service is first class, friendly, attentive, fast. If you are debating between the branzino or the barramundi, gonfor the branzino, richer and fulfilling.

We came here on the last day of restaurant week for lunch. The ambiance was very nice and we had a partial view of the ocean which was good. I had the lamb meatballs which were delicious and very tender. My wife had the hummus and the pita chips were delicious. The burger and grilled cheese for main course were both very tasty. The only thing that let down the meal slightly were that the chocolate torte and the lemon tart tasted like they were bought in rather than made freshly. The chocolate torte was a bit dry and the lemon tart wasn't set. They still had great flavour. Also props to the place not having a stupid restaurant surcharge.

Yelp
I came here on a hot date with a beautiful Jordanian man. He gets big brownie points for choosing a classy restaurant with an ocean view on the second floor. Great place for a ladies lunch or any ole time. There is parking under the restaurant or you can park on the street

Sona T.

Yelp
Not sure what all the hype is about sadly :( The service was great no complaints there. And the ambiance is cute and nice. Found the food to be underwhelming for the price point and the drinks as well. I got the tofu dish which was ok but nothing amazing and not flavorful enough. My friend's shrimp pasta was decent.

Yelp
Beeside Balcony (LJ location) is in the middle of La Jolla downtown area. The view from its balcony is first-rate. Inside area is actually not that bad, with lots of natural light and a partial view of the ocean (as much as one can see beyond the balcony). There is also a side balcony (I believe this is what it's called), which I would try to avoid as it is busy - located in front of the entrance/exit, can get loud - a DJ spinning moderately loud music there, and it is devoid of any notable view besides the escalator. There is a decent selection of America/Mediterranean meals with most of them sounding good, but unfortunately, the taste leaves something to be desired. * Spanish Octopus - overall a good combination of tastes and well thought-out dish. Execution was not great in my case as the octopus was very tough. Don't order just this if you are hungry. * Poutine Bowl was very tasty - if you are into eggs for brunch - and rich/generous. * Lamb Gyro - Generous portion, but relatively tasteless meat unfortunately. And otherwise a simple dish. * The cocktails we tried were just OK. Our experience with service was mixed: the waitress was excellent, providing good info/advice about the dishes and checking on us at just the right frequency. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the hostess who rigidly refused to let us sit at a different table offering better views even though the two were otherwise equivalent (same seating and both indoor). The table we were not allowed to move to sat empty for the couple of hours we were there. Overall, I won't say we had a bad time, esp. given the prime location. My feeling is that visitors vying for that particular location would gladly pay 20-30% more for the same menu, had the food been better prepared, and assuming a better skilled host(ess) was there to greet them.

Yelp
We took advantage of the San Diego Restaurant Week (SDRW) menu to try Beeside Balcony for the first time, opting for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. ----- FOOD (4/5) Meatballs (4/5) -- Two tasty lamb & beef meatballs with San Marzano tomato sauce Octopus Ceviche (3/5) -- Very good octopus, but very small portion, with excellent tortilla chips Beeside Burger (3/5) -- Delicious burger on a toasted brioche bun ... served well done even though I ordered it rare ... overkill on the Burger toppings ... killer French Fries (5/5) Rockfish Tacos (4/5) -- Two tacos served "open face" with nicely cooked rock fish Churros (4/5) ----- SERVICE (2/5) While well intentioned, service was way off the mark starting with having to stand outside in the rain to claim our reservation.  Once seated, our server was fairly quick taking our order ... then we waited for runners to bring our food.  We barely had our first course when a runner wanted to drop our second course at our table.  ----- AMBIANCE (2/5) The restaurant is essentially the covered roof top of a single story building with open air sides.  Tables are packed into the space.  The primary views are up and down Camino Del Mar. This Sunday, it was raining -- sometimes drizzle, sometimes hard.  In either case, the queue when we arrived was out the door and in the rain -- no cover.  We were seated on the edge of the restaurant, which was AOK until the rain picked up ... and our server wouldn't reseat us at a dry table. Limited parking in area.  Shared public restrooms.

Yelp
Solid brunch option with a partial view of the ocean and a dog friendly patio! I was a little confused about whether or not this restaurant was dog friendly since the majority of the seating is outside but some other reviews mentioned being cast away to a side seating area but we were seated in the main area outside. The heat lamps were going on a chilly morning so it was nice to sit and enjoy. Service was attentive and food was delicious! We ordered the steak and eggs and the lamb gyro. Both well seasoned and cooked to the preferred temperature. We also ordered some cocktails that came out promptly and tasted great.

John H.

Yelp
Just about everything was perfect. They have a great assortment of dining options. We had the grilled, Spanish octopus, beet salad with salmon, grilled cheese and the octopus ceviche. The octopus was grilled and seasoned to perfection. It was crisp yet juicy. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture. The salmon was flavorful, light and flakey. The ceviche was good. The grilled cheese looked so interesting from the description that I had to try it. I wouldn't order it again, but it wasn't terrible. I think it had a blend of cheeses. Some cheeses have an odd, foul flavor, which you could pick up from bites of their grilled cheese, but some cheeses are just like that. I also had a Black Lava Margarita and a Hoppy Penelope Honey beer; both were excellent! The ambiance was great as well. They offer a spectacular view of the ocean and have heaters on their balcony. Kip was our friendly server. He's informative too. I asked about the local beaches and he advised me where to go. I asked another girt who worked there first, but she acted like she was too cool to go to a beach and had no idea!

Rashmi V.

Yelp
The ambience, the food and the service was outstanding. The food is very aesthetic, I'm all about pretty good. Our server was extremely attentive and the balcony with the lovely view is wonderful. We ordered several times and everything just came out delicious. I would most definitely come back and would recommend them.

Cari A.

Yelp
Pros: -love that they had a mocktail menu. Their prickly pear ginger beer drink was great. -flavorful octopus ceviche -free 2-hour parking garage within the building -they can accommodate larger groups. There were two large parties with long tables who were present -outdoor seating is available -outdoor heaters were lovely! Cons: -tables are too close to one another which makes it difficult yo navigate in/out when it gets busy Other: -located in Del Mar, there was a lot of after work traffic so plan accordingly

Malissa B.

Yelp
Such a cute little place. Peekaboo ocean view. We stopped in for a Mediterranean lunch as it is described, but except for hummus, we didn't see anything else in that category. We ordered the roasted beet salad, which was very delicious, but it would be even better with a closer arugula and cheese balance. Otherwise it was perfect. We shared a chicken sandwich which looked fabulous on the table next to us. It was described as a tempura chicken breast, mango cilantro slaw, pepper jack, sriracha aioli, brioche, & fries. It actually also came with onions (my date would have asked for no onions if we knew), and even though we loved the tempura coating, unfortunately, the sandwich was dry as the slaw was cut up veggies (no sauce to it at all), and the aioli was missing. The staff was super sweet and happy but very busy.

George A.

Yelp
Overall experience was oaky! The ambience and the service were excellent. But the food is just okay. The Spanish Octopus was tender and flavorful but we did not get a sense of Spanish flavor on it. It was seared and served with a slice of potato and arugula salad. The Salmon is a bit overcooked and dry. Not enough broccolini sauce to moist it. We were thinking that maybe the flavor could have been enhanced if it came with more sauce or broccolini sauce.

Teresa F.

Yelp
At long last! I had the opportunity to finally enjoy a dinner here. Seafood lovers dream! Ocean view with a lovely sunset as I enjoy the balcony which provide with the heaters the crabcake is fantastic phenomenal tartar sauce. Chili and Seabass cooked to perfection. They even have Parmesan fries with truffle oil. And I must mention they made to order, lavender honey lemonade. They also have peach nectar lemonade, blackberry lemonade, and. I think one more. But only the lavender honey lemonade is made with sparkling water. And did I mention how wonderful the staff is?

Sharon B.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service. Our waitress was Christina today. She did a great job making sure we were happy with our meals and comfortable with the heaters. There's a nice view of the ocean from their outdoor balcony. The French toast was beautifully presented and looked delicious. I ordered the shrimp toast and it was also fabulous. It was much larger than I expected and I shared some with my friend.

Tracey A.

Yelp
Wow. There aren't words for how amazing this place was. I cannot recommend it enough. The service was impeccable. The food was incredible. The view fantastic. The only down side was that Yelp reservations did not work with their system so I'm glad we still got a table. Price point is definitely on the pricier end.

Cyndi L.

Yelp
First time here ... so cute ! I got the lady bed rose (I think ) drink was so good! To start we had the trio of dips which was wonderful. I had the shrimp toast it was very good ! My husband had the smoked bacon omelette it was very overcooked and he didn't enjoy. We came here straight from hiking Torrey pines.

Emily B.

Yelp
Great food with a wonderful view! We came here for brunch and the food, view, and service were all all good! I ordered the breakfast sandwich with truffle fries and my friend ordered the octopus. Really yummy! I also got an iced oat vanilla latte. Highly recommend. Will deff be returning- especially for dinner to see the sunset!

Justa Foodie R.

Yelp
I had the Spanish Octopus, no complaints. Every bite was delicious and I loved all of it.

Nikhil U.

Yelp
Good lazy lunch meal with delicious drinks Beeside Burger: Perfectly cooked burger and crispy fries. Acai Bowl was good and light. Coconut flakes and honey was a great addition. Crab cake: Packed with crab meat and not just binders. Delicious remoulade.

Lily W.

Yelp
Had a lovely lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We sat outside on their patio. Service was friendly, but did not stay attentive throughout the meal. Once the food was served, we didn't see our server much after that. Arugula and beet salad Beeside burger Spanish octopus All of our food was delicious and I guess we were hungry bc I didn't take pictures before digging in! They have a small parking area underneath the building and potentially a small lot behind the building which is nice.

Ayoosh K.

Yelp
What an amazing view on the balcony in DelMar. Their service wasn't bad but wasn't great either. Food was definitely below the standard. Drinks were delicious they had some speciality beer cocktails that I really liked. Their burger could easily be improved but it seems like they didn't care as the view is too nice. They charged $2 for getting aioli on the side which had to be asked from 3 different servers. The 3 dip pita was nothing special at all. I'd rate it even lower if it wasn't for the drinks or view. Not a place to eat.

Lyli H.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was amazing! Starters are a good size. You can see a bit of the ocean and music was not too loud so we could still have good conversation. We had several of the mocktails and unfortunately only the peach one tasted good. Overall a great spot!

Quan D.

Yelp
First time here and it exceeded my expectations. The service and ambiance was great. The food was excellent as well. The scallops were one of the best I've had in San Diego and the entrees are so beautiful as well as tasty. The prices are very reasonable for Del Mar! Great place to come for date night. Parking in Del Mar is always a challenge but we found street parking nearby. Looking forward to coming here again!

Erik S.

Yelp
I was expecting a helluva lot more from this place, given how much some of my friends love it. The first warning sign was the sign displaying a "B" rating by the county health inspectors. In SD county, everyone seems to get an A; I haven't seen a B in 7-8 years anywhere. I don't think this was the B-side they were trying to promote during my June visit. Consequently, I skipped salads and raw offerings. It seemed that they read my mind too strongly, and my medium-rare filet came back well-done. The replacement filet came out just fine, thankfully... just tiny. That filet was tasty; accompanying fries were excellent, as were the (fully-cooked) crabcakes. The Beeside does not have a full liquor license, but still sells "cocktails." Bee-ware that your margarita won't have tequila in it, nor will drinks that have "bourbon," "vodka," actually have those spirits, etc. The view was beautiful, especially at sunset.

Madeline T.

Yelp
Cute restaurant near the del mar fairgrounds! The sandwiches were the perfect portion and fries are nice and crunchy! All the waiters were very pleasant, and were quick to bring out our food.

Alicia K.

Yelp
This was such an amazing, filling brunch! The only downside is that you'll always have to deal with Del Mar parking. To find this restaurant, you have to go up some stairs and then you'll walk into a nicely decorated seating area with a beautiful little outdoor terrace. Service was amazing. It took a while for us to decide what we wanted to order--as per usual--but the waitress was so patient and gave us all her favorite recommendations. We ordered: - Octopus Appetizer (5/5): This appetizer even beats the octopus I've had in Spain. It's a must order, so tender and flavorful. I could eat this everyday. - Trio Dips (5/5): Could not stop eating this before our food came out. The pita is so soft and the dips are all so unique. I think we got another order of pita because it was so good. - Lamb Gyro Wrap (5/5): We were honestly so full from the appetizers that we didn't really get to this, but even after reheating at home -- amazing. - Beeside Salad with Salmon (4/5): I mean, it's a salad. Good but not mind-blowing compared to the rest of our meal. Salmon was a bit bland. This restaurant is dangerous, especially the appetizers. Everything completely exceeded my expectations.

Yvonne W.

Yelp
Greg our server was amazing! Loved the ambiance, food and drinks! The oysters were delicious and the drinks new and refreshing! We will come again!

Anu K.

Yelp
Perfect dinner and way to end our trip in California for the hubbys birthday. My sister knew the restaurant we were heading to and the staff was so sweet to surprise us with welcome drinks that she placed an order for over the phone. All of our food was delicious from the oysters to lamb pasta and my hubby loved the octopus. The drinks were perfect too. Definitely recommend this place in Del Mar.

Allyson D.

Yelp
This is a quaint restaurant. Go upstairs to check in with the hostess. The upper deck can see the ocean horizon. The menu is very nice. A little bit for everyone, including the exotic eater because there are escargot (snails)! It was fresh tasting with the herbs and garlic butter, not overwhelming. The bee/honey cheeseboard looked beautiful and was very nice. We weren't offered extra pita bread, and maybe we could've asked, but we were ready to eat our entrees. I tried almost all the dips and they were very delicious. I'm vegetarian and ordered the tofu quinoa. Wow, it seriously looked amazing. Thank you offering a beautiful tofu plate and not the typical Beyond burger!!! The plate had well cooked broccolini and the green sauce was SO good! I think anyone looking for a healthy plant protein meal should try it. The chocolate cupcake was very rich. I'm a chocolate lover and just wished there was a whip cream or vanilla ice cream. I liked the cake though!

Rich R.

Yelp
This is our first stop when visiting Solano Beach and Oceanside. We dine on the patio overlooking the ocean. The menu offers unique dishes with attentive staff.

Yeahoo W.

Yelp
Ya can't go wrong when ordering if you ask the server for their opinion. Miranda suggested PEI Mussels as a starter to the Chilean Sea Bass I had my eye on. You were so right. Visually stunning definitely delicious in a beautiful setting in the heart of Del Mar. Highly recommended.

Z. A.

Yelp
Based on great Yelp reviews I decided to come here, but was quite disappointed. The coffee was cold and the food did not meet the price point. The whipped cream tasted like fridge/old savory food and the french toast were not tasty. The service gave a smiling face, but not genuine and actually wanting to help. I had to insist they change out an omelette for my mom as they had included onions despite our request-- which is totally okay, mistakes happen. But they attempted to gaslight us, two separate times by separate people, that there were not onions in the dish. It was wild that their knee-jerk reaction was to deny reality and gaslight us, and that they resisted in changing the dish out. In the end they gave us a new dish and the manager did check in, but the process was awkward and felt like an attempt to humiliate us. In the end they charged us for cheese and a sauce, which isn't a big deal money wise, but not cool they weren't transparent about the up-charges. It's a shame because it's a nice location/ambiance. But the food is cookie cutter, no flavor, and the service is fake and demeaning.

Cony L.

Yelp
Came here for Saturday dinner and surprisingly we were able to make dinner rsvp at last minute. When we got there there were plenty of street parking spots but Beeside has its own parking behind the building. The place was cute and waitress who greeted our table was nice. We sat right near the window. The foods came out really quickly and everything was pretty delicious and very pretty! Highly recommend it if you are near the area looking for good and healthy food.

Ona R.

Yelp
The ambiance is nice with stunning views. No doubt about that. The rock fish and frites, well the fish could have used some salt and less grease... a few pieces were very soggy from the greasy batter. I didn't complain but I should have asked for a new batch. It may have help me enjoy the meal better. The feta fries are just that fries with feta. They were difficult to eat because the feta cheese kept falling off. I don't think these two items, fish and feta fries, should be served in a small basket rather they should be served on a plate. Especially if you're going to get some feta on your fries! I asked for salt but it was sea salt in the smallest container in which the lid had to be open in order to get out the salt. Those chunks of salt were too big to season the fish, therefore all it did was slide right off. If you like truffles then you'll like the truffle ketchup. The tartar sauce was pretty good. It was ok service regarding lunch time folks. It got a little packed and the staffs did their best to tend to the customers. Ever so often they would come by and automatically top us off with water. Some music was playing, the wind was blowing and they put on the heat lamps because my friend was cold. I can say I went, but I don't think it's a place I'd frequent. I'm love some good fish and chips, but the way the fish was made was underwhelming.

Jila T.

Yelp
Beautiful scenery, friendly service and amazing food. I couldn't have asked for a better experience as I caught up with a special friend visiting from out of town.

Laura P.

Yelp
Really lovely place to have cocktails and dinner at sunset. Incredibly friendly staff, beautiful ocean views, and fresh seafood: what more could you want? We enjoyed the mussels, caesar salad, scallops and mashed potatoes, and would definitely plan to come back next time we are in Del Mar. The ambiance felt so much like everyone was on vacation: very laid back and pleasant.

Lori L.

Yelp
Perfect view, super sweet and attentive server, delicious food!!! We tried a bunch of things: the brussels with bacon was perfect salty, the beets had walnuts and cinnamon(yum), shrimp tacos had huge shrimp, fries were good, and the bowl was perfect. Dessert was baklava ice cream cake- so unusual and good! What a fun place to go

Kate F.

Yelp
I really like their setup at Beeside Balcony - they have a decent size outdoor seating area so you can enjoy the sunny Cali weather They have a speakeasy in the back past the bathrooms that you enter through the picture of the woman. The speakeasy is a very small, dimly lit room with candles and flowers on the ceiling. It seems like it would be a good date night spot I tried several apps including the shrimp with pesto sauce, lamb meatballs and crab cakes. All of them were good but the shrimp was amazing! I had their Surfliner Spritz which was light and refreshing. I also tried the sangria but didn't care for that one Tip - try the sensory overload with the buzz button. Buzz buttons create a numbing sensation in your mouth and are interesting to watch people try

Shirley F.

Yelp
Food was fresh . Service was good . Ambiance amazing. Not nearly has good as my last visit.

Jeff L.

Yelp
Came here with a group of 4 and we ordered a fair bit of things to share including 2 Crab cakes (shareable by 2 at best), Mussels, Seafood Risotto, Grilled Spanish Octopus, Pesto Shrimp Linguini, and the Branzino. Overall the ambiance was nice but it was a little packed (we got seated right in the middle where all the foot traffic was. The food was prepared with a vigorous amount of spices.. which didn't exactly lend itself to tasty plates. One suggestion is to tone down the saltiness of the Grilled Octopus. It was way overcooked and seemed to be drowned in salt so it was tough to finish. One shining beacon however was the mussels which were plentiful and we cleaned the plate out by ordering bread to pair with the rest of the sauce. It was a tad rich but given 2 of us wanting to bulk up it wasn't that big a deal but we could have also used a bit less salt on that was well.

David K.

Yelp
Food and location was great, but no way price guide ($$) from yelp is accurate when main dishes are in the range of $40

Marlina L.

Yelp
The winning factor is the ambience. Lovely balcony with great views. Service was good, friendly and helpful. The food was just okay, nothing special. The octopus ceviche was a bit too tender. The lamb gyro was slightly undercooked. They surely could do much better with the food. Perhaps we're just unlucky that day.

Nancie M.

Yelp
Tonight was the night my hubby picked me up from San Diego airport and suggested we try a new place. This was it and I was not disappointed I had the Spanish Octupus and the Black Lava margarita my hubby had the scallops both were excellent. The atmosphere was perfect with evening heat lamps and hip vibe I would highly suggest a try if looking for a unique seafood restaurant. Service was great.

Ally N.

Yelp
Came here on a weekday afternoon and was seated immediately. They were very nice to our dogs and brought out a dog water bowl right away. The front patio is dog friendly. The food was very tasty! We split the Caesar salad and trio of dips. The dips were very good we ended up getting a little more bread to finish the dips, which I think we had an extra charge for once the bill came. I got the lavender bee's knees and really liked it! My friend got the French 75. I do think this place was a bit pricey for what you get. It was $80 for two drinks and two appetizers with tip.

Danny H.

Yelp
Carlos was beyond amazing, made my entire trip here from Las Vegas can't believe how nice Poole are

Sean H.

Yelp
Loved Beeside! I keep seeing reviews for the lunch but I visited here for a fancy family dinner and found it great! Our waitress (Christina?) was so lovely and is a rare find nowadays. There's a nice view of the sunset in the evening and I got good vibes all around. All our mains were well eaten so I'd say they were a hit. The separate ordered sides were just ok (Brussels sprouts weren't the best but the fries were good) And finished with a delicious Apple fritter dessert! I'd recommend this spot for special occasions, date night, or taking out of visitors after hitting up Del Mar!

Diva H.

Yelp
Food is incredibly fresh and the balcony is a beautiful spot to have dinner on and go watch the sunset from. Easy to get reservations and a beautiful location. Scallops were perfectly cooked, just right and the octopus was also done to perfection...easy to overlook octopus and then it's a rubbery tentacle and not much else...the chef here did a great job. Cocktail menu is also quite comprehensive, great spot.

Camille K.

Yelp
My girlfriends and I had run a relay race in San Diego and needed a celebratory breakfast after. We chose Beeside and it was perfect. One of my friends is lactose intolerant and the waitresses were more than happy to point out what she could eat. We had the pita board which is delicious. I had the fish and chips which were also delightful - crispy and well seasoned. One of the other gals got the poutine which she devoured. The restaurant itself is a beautiful open air balcony with views of the sea. It was busy but not loud.

Hayden S.

Yelp
Overall good cozy vibes but the food is really lacking. Got a variety of fish options, with the best one being the calamari (hard to go wrong). Presentation of food is good tho (as is the service).

Matt D.

Yelp
Had a nice lunch at Beeside this weekend. We arrived without a reservation around 1:30pm and were fortunately seated at one of the few open tables. We ordered the trio of dips, a bee-youtibowl (grain bowl with lemon vinaigrette, avocado, and vegetables), and a Caesar salad. All of them were good. We did sit at our table for about 20 minutes for our server ever came to visit the table. However, the house manager came over and apologized and took care of the situation. We expect servers were busy. Plus, it was a lovely day to relax on a patio, and we didn't have anywhere we needed to be after.

Yelp
I was able to make a reservation a week before a long weekend. The initial table they had ready for us was in the upstairs balcony but since I had a stroller it would have made it tough to get in and out so we ended up sitting inside. We got the trio dip for app and I got the fish tacos, husband the fried chicken sandwich. I was happy with my tacos, the jicama slaw was pretty good and added a good crunch to it. Our server was also very nice and accommodating.

Yelp
BALCONY EATS KIND OF DAY (5 stars) Sunny end of (extended) winter beginning of spring days with partial ocean views calls for yummy balcony eats. It's not a restaurant with a balcony, it is a restaurant ON a balcony. Menu with many offerings and a bar with many poison of choice. The employees are all very kind and attentive. I like this place! - FOOD: good - SERVICE: excellent - PRICE: fair - PORTION: fair FISH & FRITES ($18) - Tempura battered Wild caught atlantic cod with rosemary frites, lemon remoulade and caramelized limes. This was delicious! It's their take on fish and chips. The fish was fresh and the batter was crispy. Ratio of fish:batter, fish one! The tempura batter was crispy but not extra crispy. It came with a lemon remoulade dipping sauce that was SO good; it was a mash up of Tartar sauce, I think chipotle, and lime. I cannot get over this sauce! The fries were nicely crisp with a hint of rosemary and came with truffle ketchup. Presentation was cool, kept it clean and very picture worthy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND PRICKLY PEAR LEMONADE ($6) - everyone by now knows I am a lemonade lover (especially when I eat fish and chips). So when I saw they had a list of different lemonades, I just had to get one that I've never heard or tried before. I've had prickly pear drinks before - love it, so to read "prickly pear lemonade" it was a must order. The drink is hot pink and sweet and acidic. I love sweet and I love an acidic pucker afterwards. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Found my local place for Fish and Frites! So I will definitely be back. JABA APPROVED. Until the next review...
