London’s Best Old Bakeries - Eater London

"Of Brick Lane’s two sleepless bagel factories, “the yellow one” is great for people who hate queuing. But what makes Beigel Shop really interesting is the decades-old room it resides in, which is filled with halogen lights, the smell of bread and a never-ending bagel production line. Unlike its neighbour, the place is quiet enough to have room to stand, where visitors can enjoy their meal on a delightful granite strip. While the bagels next door do have more shine, bounce and colour to them, there’s not much in it. Anyway, there’s a wider variety of sweet things at Beigel Shop, like its surprisingly light elephant ears, which are like coiled churros and as sticky as superglue." - Isaac Rangaswami

London’s Best Bagels | Beigel Bake Salt Beef, But There’s More - Eater London

"Easily identifiable by its yellow and red beaming shop sign, fans of Beigel Shop London stay staunchly loyal to their preferred bagel house and refuse to even acknowledge their nearby rival Beigel Bake. While the latter keeps its offerings relatively simply, the Beigel Shop sets itself apart with prawn bagel, crispy bacon, roast chicken, crab mayonnaise and even liver sausage for the adventurous. All fillings come as sides, so diners can fill up a single bagel taller than the tower of London." - Riaz Phillips

Google
Decent bagel at this bakery that is an institution in London. I had a salt beef beigel with extra of pickles. There is a good amount of meat in the beigel per serving . Meat is not dry and it’s flavoursome. Service was fast (I was not stuck in a queue). I would say if you are in the area looking for something to eat /after a night out this is your best bet. Good value for money.

Google
We went back twice for the salt beef bagel and sandwich after trying it the first time—it was absolutely incredible! The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the bagel was perfectly fresh. We stood in line but didn’t have to wait long, even when it's busy, the service is impressively efficient. The salmon cream cheese option was tasty too, but if you're visiting, don’t miss the salt beef bagel or sandwich—it's a must try!

Google
We were around the area and were quite excited to try this place as we had heard about it, but in all honestly, We are not sure what is the all faff about the place and the sandwiches! we had a salted beef sandwich and a bagel one, although you might think, oh that’s a lot of beef for the price but this beef tasted like nothing, literally even having it on its own was like a plastic! I genuinely threw half of my sandwich in the bin! The mustard didn’t help either as it was too much! Definitely would not recommend the place!

Google
Unfortunately I have more pictures than words for rating. I didn't mind the queue at all, the ordering was swift as well, but I don't get the bagels 🥯. The bagels were a tad tough (but maybe that's how/ what they are here), as for the salted beef, it was at best competent, but the smoked salmon was a let down. Sorry, maybe 2⭐ is a bit harsh, but that's caused by the social media hype of the eatery and the high expectations it set.

T M

Google
Worth the hype, worth the queue, worth it all round. The salt beef and smoked salmon cream cheese were fantastic, but it’s the fresh, soft, chewy bagels that really made it. Prices very reasonable especially by London standards, £7.50 for the salt beef and only(!) £4.50 for the salmon. Grab & go explore the rest of bustling Brick Lane for a Sunday well spent.

Nuria Yeste

Google
The salt beef beigel lived up to the hype. The beef was tender and juicy, and they put so much quantity it barely fit in the bread! Bread was soft and tasty. We came around midnight on a Friday and there was people but not that many, but queue moved super fast. It's worth it, at least the salt beef one!!

Marc Farmer

Google
This is a very popular food counter. Queue running outside the door at 3.30pm. Staff are very efficient and they have to be to keep things moving! It leads to quite a stressful experience if you are with people who take an age to make up their mind! You can see the bread products being made fresh out the back & there is a large selection of tasty treats on offer! We had the salted beef and smoked salmon & cream cheese beigels & they were scrummy! £6.70 sandwich & £6.20 beigel. Also bought apple turnover & an almond slice. No seating. No toilets. No parking. Food is very good!

Google
An absolute classic, the best bagels in London. I often grab a bag of bagels as well as whichever filled bagel I plan on eating so I can take them home. They’re chewy and delicious. They have halal and kosher options, unfortunately the salt beef isn’t either but their other options are great too. Last time I tried the mozzarella and pesto which was yum but quite heavy on the pesto

Yelp
This Jewish bagel shop, a true hole in the wall, is da bomb! We got the salted beef on a bagel, just brilliant. Test your girl's love and bring her here for a salted beef. If she still talks to you afterwards, she's a keeper and not a gold digger! Salmon bagel ok and cheap, but not as divine as the salted beef.

Yelp
This should really be a 3.85 star review. As someone who lives in NYC, grew up around great bagels, it pains me to say, this place somehow hits the spot. Now, barring I went after i had numerous beers and cocktails, I expected the salt beef bagel to be bad, look, it's London and bagels, come on.. BUT, I went back another night while I was in London. If you know exactly what you're getting into, then honestly, it's a great novelty. I will go back the next time i'm in London..

Yelp
Beigel Bake was on my social media and in some YouTube videos so I had to come check them out. They are famous for their Salt Beef Beigel. We came early morning as they are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since it was raining, we called an Uber from the Whitechapel station off the District line. 20 minutes walking in the rain is no fun for anyone that doesn't have an umbrella. We can thank our airline for delaying our flight a few times before cancelling it. After rebooking and finally arriving in London, our luggage didn't make it so we didn't have anything for the London weather. Hence calling an Uber...the Chinese in me didn't wanna do it but had to. Along the drive in the morning, we saw the beautiful graffiti artwork heading to Beigel Bake so that was nice. Would have been nice to walk and take some photos since none of the shops were open yet. When you enter, the place is well lit and you walk to the end of the display counter to order. They have a large and clear menu to choose from. There are counter area along the wall you can eat on but there are no stools or chairs. Customer service reminded me of a way nicer version of order bagels in New York City. I knew I was going to order the Salt Beef Beigel with mustard and pickles. Mink ordered their Cream Cheese. I loved my Salt Beef Beigel and it started off my morning right. The beef was well seasoned and so tender. Portion size was just right but make sure to bring wipes and they don't have napkins (or none that we saw) as mustard can get on your fingers. Mink enjoyed her Cream Cheese bagel but it's not the same as bagels in New York City. It was a good stop for a quick bite before starting our day. I see why their Salt Beef Beigel is so famous and I would definitely come back for it.

Yelp
Pro-tip: do not order the salt and beef here. It's bloody disgusting. Not good. The other bagel place right next to it is leaps and bounds better. Ordered the salt and beef bagel with mustard and pickles. The salty beef was Horrid. I don't know if it was rancid but it had one heck of a gnarly taste. It like almost tasted like they reheated the meat in a microwave or something. It had like a bizarre almost sour metallic flavor . I threw it out and ate the bagel. And you know what? The plain bagel wasn't half bad. But considering I paid 7 pounds for a plain bagel, I got taken. Can't say I recommend this one.
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
If you didn't know about this place ahead of time it would be easy to walk by on your way home after a night out and think hm, I wonder why a bagel place is open 24 hrs/day. I'm still wondering this, but am glad it is. We popped in on our walk home from dinner/drinks around 1130PM and the place was by no means empty. We went with the salted beef bagel, which is an absolute must. The meat is delicious and ample in portion. Put into the bagel with a lovely seasoned spread. Also opted for salmon/cream cheese, which was fairly standard but the bagel quality itself really stood out. Quick service and a great option for your walk home to your hotel if you're in the area.

Yelp
Much like the bagel shop next door, this place is legit! I did find that the bagels here are a bit more on the well done side, so be on the lookout if that's not your preference. I thought it was funny to see a bagel without its typical hole in the middle, but the taste was there! Quick service and great vibes! I wish I could transport back to London to grab another bagel here.

Yelp
Was recommended this place by a friend who said it was one of her favorite bagels ever so I had to try it out. This was such a cool no frills bagel place that reminded me of some of the jewish delis in NY (this is coming from someone who is neither from London nor from NY so take this with a grain of salt) It was honestly quite fast and cheap (and surprisingly no line when I went on a Sunday morning). I got a lox bagel and my boyfriend got a salt beef, both of which were so simple yet sooo tasty. The bagels themselves were really nice and chewy, and the salt beef with pickle and mustard was such an interesting but tasty combo. Definitely hit the spot after a morning of walking around The one nit I had was that the cream cheese wasn't very evenly distributed on my lox bagel. They definitely just slipped a cold block of cream cheese in a half cut bagel and called it a day. Given that this place is such a quick grab and go spot it makes sense, you can just spread it out if that bothers you. I unfortunately didn't notice so my first few bites were mostly salmon and my last few bites were mostly cream cheese My boyfriend also said that the mustard on his salt beef was suuuper strong, he was getting teary eyed. Luckily he and I both enjoy mustard so it wasn't a big deal, but definitely keep that in mind if you're thinking about whether or not to get mustard. I didn't try any other bagels in London so I can't really compare, but I would definitely recommend this one if you're looking for a nice quick breakfast
google avatar

Denise V.

Yelp
Despite its unassuming appearance, the food turned out to be delicious. Sometimes, simplicity is better. Don't be deterred by the long line; it moves really quickly. You can see them make the beigels in the back, so you know they're fresh. The beigel was soft with a light chewy texture and the perfect level of density--not heavy at all. The addition of mustard and pickles complemented the salt pork perfectly. Even though I split it with a friend, the meal was still quite filling.

Mantis T.

Yelp
Loved coming here As a native NYer I can say the bagel is good If you want filling like cream cheese or meat it comes already pre-made, and if you want a toasted bagel with cream cheese they toast the bagel with cream cheese already in it. So it's more warmed than toasted. Still good, worth a visit!

Yelp
Fantastic place for a quick Meal on the go. Always fresh and lots of choice. Fabulous atmosphere and friendly staff.

Yelp
The bagels themselves are ok, but the salt beef bagel for £5.70 is an absolute bargain! There's a reason why they have a line out the door at this bagel shop that is open at 24/7. The line moves quickly, so don't be discouraged. The salt beef bagel comes with thick slices of beef, like an American corned beef and a sinus-clearing mustard, which is optional. I added the gherkin for an extra 30p and got a banging sandwich for around $7.50. The combo worked really well together. Even my husband, who has sworn off eating beef, could not resist a bite. And another one. And another. When it was gone, he said we should get another! They have other options like smoked salmon and cream cheese or tuna salad, but this is the sandwich they are famous for. They even have one guy whose whole job is assembling these beauties. Definitely worth visiting if you're in London. This was my first time, and I'm going to make sure it's one of my regular stops from now on!
google avatar

Samuel M.

Yelp
Do not go here. Their bagels are subpar. If you're used to bagels in New York or in the U.S. in general, don't bother here. The bagel is stale and they only have plain cream cheese--that's it! Also their coffee is basically powder and hot water: that's unacceptable. Yet the real reason I gave them such a low rating is bc of the service. There's a Caucasian woman in there who is racist. She mocked a Korean woman's pronunciation bc she couldn't order her bagel correctly and roasted her in front of everyone. She also mocked another Indian/middle Eastern man because he smelled bad. Also make sure you count your change. They were supposed to give me 8 pounds in change but they ended up giving me 2 pounds worth in coins. When I confronted them they reluctantly gave me back my money, which shows it's not the first time they tried to shortchange tourists.

Yelp
Unreal fantastic!! Sometimes a lot me. Sometimes no waiting. The Salted beef bagel made me come back a few times.
google avatar

Hannah M.

Yelp
Bizarrely good - really wasn't expecting much from London bagels but they're totally decent and the price is right. There was a line but it moved quickly. I believe they're cash only as far as I can tell. Lots of bagel toppings available although I just opted for the plain ones since I wanted to try them out first. The salt beef looks really good though and I'd definitely try it if I were in the area. Shop is small but clean and the people working were pleasant. It's no New York bagel but honestly it was better than expected! Would return and try other menu items for sure.
google avatar

Grant A.

Yelp
It's a 24 hour bagel place which makes it pretty unique in my mind. Had a tasty bagel with Salmon and cream cheese.
google avatar

Jeff F.

Yelp
Walked over from an online recommendation Had the salt beef bagel with mustard and pickles. It was so good and an insane bargain. Great coffee around the corner made for a nice walk.

Discerning Chef ..

Yelp
Meat is seriously without flavor. Bagel was cold super plain. Needs serious butter and garlic. Extremely underwhelming. Couldn't finish this blasphemy to culinary standards. But for London..... it's about par. Re-review: for the life of me I can't figure out what the fascination is with this place other than the fact it open past 6. After local friends objecting to my review, they dragged me back. And the results: -still trash. Worse than the last time. They are all prepped in a bag on the counter just sitting there. Good lord. Go to Katz in NY or any mediocre bagel sandwich shop in NY and you will see how this is done London, I beg you.

Mac B.

Yelp
Good god, spare yourself the agony and if you are from the United States, especially from New York, just don't go near this place. These "Beigels" are a joke. I've had better Bagels at Safeway. The poor excuse for smoked salmon that was in my obviously pre-made salmon Beigel was just crap. I took one bite and threw it in the trash. Like the crappy curry's on Brick Lane, the Bagels are also of similar crappiness....just don't bother.
google avatar

Kate P.

Yelp
I was in town so got the salt beef bagel. The bagel is just okay, if you're expecting some NYC-jewish-deli-tier bagel you're going to be very disappointed.... but the salt beef is good and the combination of the beef, pickle and mustard really works well. The line was long but moves fast. Pro-tip: If you want to sit down, there is a (divey) bar like two doors down. Go in there and buy a drink and they'll let you sit and have your bagel there.
google avatar

Amme P.

Yelp
I teach yoga around the corner and love to head over straight after, to wait in the very fast cue, and to be served, rather abruptly, the most amazing salt beef, pickle and mustard bagel. So much meat you have to eat chunks of it separately. Always check the bottom of your bagel bag for bits of pickle or beef that have dropped off. I recommend getting three. One for straight away. One for when you realise how amazing that one was, and one for breakfast. They microwave fairly well says the American. They are less than 7£.

Yelp
Friday 1st March, 2024 Shop door padlocked with heavy chain preventing access with a Court order pinned to the door saying DO NOT ENTER, writ of Summons awaiting payment to Court. In my opinion Beigel Bake bakes the Best Bagel in London. They are far superior to any Bagel produced in the west London quarter that I live and shop at, which is in the east of it. Cockney land, if you prefer to call the east end of London. (that's within earshot of Bow Bells. The official designation for a Cockney). A barely adequate substitute can be purchased in Mill Hill but for a REAL BEIGEL you need to go to Shoreditch and Beigel Bake. Anyone know if they are EVER going to re-open?
google avatar

Kimberly C.

Yelp
There is almost always a long line if you come on the weekends, but with good reason! If you don't want to queue, I would recommend coming on a weekday or at night. I always ordered the salmon and cream cheese bagel. They give you a good amount of salmon, although I would've preferred a little more cream cheese. It is also super affordable and cheap. The bagel itself is the star of the show. It's hard on the outside, but so soft in the inside. The flavor of it it unlike any bagel I've ever had in the past. If you come to the Brick lane area you have to try this bagel shop!!
google avatar

Hannah Z.

Yelp
the bagels here are good but, in my opinion, not too special. i tried the salmon and cream cheese bagel--the bread part was all right but i only got one thin slice of salmon and wayyy too much cream cheese. maybe i would have had better luck sticking to the classic salt beef bagel. my bagel was also pre-made and wasn't toasted, which was a bit displeasing. the place was bustling with people and it's nice that the shop is open 24 hours a day. the prices here are also unbeatable! the shop itself seems pretty old and the decor isn't the greatest. also, service was not particularly polite. unfortunately, my experience here wasn't all too great but i may come back to try something else another day!

Sabrina H.

Yelp
never use the online service, when they get the order wrong, there is absolutely no customer service, or even anyone that cares enough to help. THEY STOLE money from my bank account and i cannot get anyone to approve repayment. save yourself the hassel and don't even bother!
google avatar

Food M.

Yelp
It ain't Katz's, but when you re drunk in London and can't find your way home, it's an oasis. Lively crowd. Great pastrami. Go. Eat.
google avatar

Art C.

Yelp
Super disappointed here! It was our first London stop and based on the reviews, we thought it would been better. The bagels were hard and the beef and salmon was meh. The worst part......... I bit into the salmon and felt a plastic wrap. I immediately pulled out the wrap from my mouth. When I showed the wrap to the lady at the front, she had a disbelief face like I was lying. My cousin, who had the other half, opened his bagel, and his salmon still had the wrap on. The lady offered us a free one, but we respectfully rejected. Honestly, I can't see why this place is that highly rated as it's flavorless and bad. I wouldn't recommend this place even if it's a "one time for the one time".
google avatar

Adam L.

Yelp
Famous and for a reason, the salt beef bagel. Small no frills takeaway shop on brick lane. Open 24/7 and a great place to stop at 3am after a night out in Shoreditch. Quick, low cost, and amazing salt beef. Standard comes with mustard and pickles. Just an iconic sandwich from and iconic bakery. Must stop if you're in the area.
google avatar

Sophie B.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We visited Beigel Bake during a Shoreditch food walking tour, and now I crave it nearly everyday.. You have to go and try a bagel, this one had salted beef, pickles and mustard... and was one of the highlights of my trip. Cash only!

David Y.

Yelp
Delicious! We had the salted beef on a seeded bagel with pickles...yummy! On our next return to London we will return.
google avatar

Brendan T.

Yelp
Now I'm a native and lifelong New Yorker so obviously my standards when it comes to bagels are about as high as scientifically possible, so take that into account. That being said however I've also been on record stating that I believe the smaller, chewier bagels found in Montreal are actually better than my hometown's, so I am perfectly capable of giving credit to another towns bagels, and not blinded by hometown pride and loyalty like so many New Yorkers. These however, which as far as I can tell are the most widely praised bagels in London would not rank well against either most NYC or Montreal one's. The bagel was overly bready and puffy, lacking the chewy tight pull found in even the larger NYC ones. I was intrigued by the hybridization of Jewish Deli and Bagel culture achieved here by the combination of Salted Beef (AKA corned beef in NYC or smoked meat in Montreal) and bagel, and it was a brilliant, if somewhat messy and unwieldy pairing indeed, with a generous mound of the beef overflowing out of the bagel. Similar to the bagel however the somewhat fatty and stringy beef would not rank among the heavy hitters of either NYC or Montreal in that department either, however it was a tasty and unique enough sandwich experience and offers a chance to visit a very cool and unique corner of London so did not regret my trek here at all, just make sure to keep your expectations in order, particularly if you are from NYC or Montreal.

Jason S.

Yelp
Absolute worse place to get food in London! The food is bad already but this is a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. They do NOT care about their customers! Ordered a vegetarian pizza and got a meat lovers, bugged for a refund and DID NOT receive it. ZERO respect.
google avatar

Lucy Z.

Yelp
Gobbled up in four bites. Four of us split three bagels as a mid-morning snack, strolling over from the Columbia Road Flower Market. We picked up the salted beef, tuna and corn, and lox and cream cheese. Salted beef is HEAVY on the mustard. Tuna and corn is creamy, if not a common combo imo. Lox and cream cheese is a little on the stingy side, but it's a fraction of a NYC lox bagel so what would you expect.
google avatar

Mandy F.

Yelp
No frill, mom and pops shop that opens 24/7. The service wasn't the best, they have customers going in and out all day all night and probably a bunch of tourist asking the same questions. (i am one of them haha) Lox bagel with cream cheese in NYC is at least $10-$15, but they sold it here for less then $5. Salted Beef is a must... literally salted beef inside a bagel with mustard and pickles. Would grab more if we didn't have dinner plans. Will come again next time when we're in London
google avatar

Felicia C.

Yelp
To start off, I am a huge fan of bagels. As long as I can remember, I have loved bagels. There was a huge line going out the door in which we waited 15 minutes in when I came here, so be sure to come here early. I ordered the Cream Cheese Bagel although the Salt Beef Bagel is the hype here. Cream Cheese Bagel- The bagel had a chewy texture that was delicious. It is simply to die for. The cream cheese compliments the soft and chewy bagel. It's so simple, yet tasty. A downside was that the cashier was impatient. She kept screaming for the line to move and had a bad attitude. Besides this, I had an awesome experience.
google avatar

Vivienne C.

Yelp
Apparently one of the best bagel places here in London and it is open 24/7! The store itself sells a wide variety of various breads and sweets like donuts and croissants, but they are most well-known for their, of course, bagels. Came at a weekday afternoon and was greeted by a line out the door. Ordered a cream cheese bagel and it was delicious! The cream cheese, although had a light and almost whipped kind of consistency, was very rich and worked well with the bagel, which had a very "Q" texture. I did notice quite a lot of people order the salted beef bagel, so maybe also try that one? Definitely recommend if you are ever in this super unique neighborhood.
google avatar

Tiffany G.

Yelp
Great if you want a late night drunk snack. The line was long but went by decently fast. We got the bagel with salted beef and it was pretty satisfying. It's open 24 hours and a good alternative to McDonald's
google avatar

Wilhelm D.

Yelp
This is a great place to go if you want to get berated for not ordering a bagel with the exact words they want you to use or if you just want a very mediocre bagel.
google avatar

Margaret M.

Yelp
Friendly staff and wonderful bagels. They are open 24hours! On Sundays , you can also check out the nearby markets in Spitalfields.
google avatar

Ros A.

Yelp
Salted beef is a must try. Fast (at least when we went) delicious, and inexpensive. Everything about it was so good.

Yelp
I'm seeing so much comparison to NY bagels, but take it from a Native New Yorker: go for the salt beef bagel in London. What people are describing from NY is either corned beef or pastrami on a sandwich--because we don't even put those in our bagels! There's a huge difference in eating corned beef in a bagel and in between loaves of bread. The American version comes in smoked or boiled and are normally thinly sliced, while the British version is rather thicker. Beigel Bake feels like a long-standing mom-and-pop establishment popular with locals and tourists. I got a Salt Beef Beigel (£4.30) with pickle (or a gherkin) for an extra £0.20 and mustard, and it was fantastic! The salt beef was tender and although it's practically flavorless without the salt and mustard, I enjoyed it a lot. I do love my NY bagels and admit that the bagel isn't crunchy like I'm used to, but please stop comparing them to NY bagels; this isn't NYC or NYC style--it's British style, and that's what gives it the whole package. This place is so good for a cheap bite that'll leave you full for awhile and definitely one of the more authentic food spots in London that's a must-visit! The hustle and bustle of this place made the line move really fast--didn't see the line slow down the entire time I was there!

Anthony J.

Yelp
The Salt Beef Beigel is one of my all time favorite sandwiches. The meat and bagels are cooked to perfection. I get mine with mustard and gherkins/pickles. The line can get long but the service is always fast and friendly.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
If you're looking for a meal on the cheap while in Shoreditch, then Beigel Bake will hit the spot. Now, the lines get crazy at all times of the day, but can get even more chaotic during the lunch rush. That's okay - they move super fast, but just know what you want, cause the surly shopkeepers don't have time for indecisiveness! Because we were overwhelmed, we actually went through the line three different times, but never waited more than 5-10 mins each time when it snaked out the door. For food, we got the chicken beigel, salami, sausage roll and the salted beef beigel. The salted beef is what everyone comes from and will set you back about £4.50-£5.00 depending on whether you want it on a bagel or a sandwich, everything else is about £2 and under - a good value for sure! Everything was good and the salted beef was our favorite out of all the things we tried. The combo of pickle, mustard, and salty beef made it hearty and memorable. It's cash only and there is standing room only to eat at the counters. Looked like a majority of the locals took their food to go with them or to eat in the nearby park.

Yelp
Better than advertised. They are cranking out goodness here. A must stop. All sorts of other pastries offered as well.

Yelp
Must. Best sandwich ever! And good on the budget. Fun neighbor. If you go, get 2PP, now and later. Your welcome.

Yelp
Beigel Bake was good, but I didn't feel that it lived up to the hype. When we arrived, the line was out the door, but it moved pretty quickly, so don't let that deter you. The employees were quite rude though, which is maybe why the line moved so quickly. Be ready with your order when they get to you! And have cash... They don't take credit cards. I ordered the Salt Beef Beigel, which I've heard they are famous for. The beef was good, but a little too salty... And I LOVE salt. The bagel was good also, but just tasted like a standard bagel. Overall, it was a good, filling lunch for a great price.
google avatar

Kimberly L.

Yelp
Food: Salted Beef Beigel The salted beef beigel here was perfectly constructed with salted beef and optional toppings of pickles and mustard! I got the beigel with all the toppings and thought the combination of ingredients made a great combo. It was so good, I wish I got two!! My friend got the beigel with just the salted beef and still thought it was a great buy, so definitely give it a try either way. There was a bit of a queue when we arrived but it moves pretty quickly so don't be afraid of waiting a bit if there's a line when you arrive.

Salted meat filling was to die for but the bagel itself was kind of tough. Maybe I'm just spoiled because I'm a new yorker??

Yelp
SALT.BEEF.BEIGEL at any of time of the day because they are open 24/7. We came here after a night of heavy drinking, but I would still give this 5/5 if I came here sober. Imagine Katz on a bagel. GENIUS! The meat is not AS tender or thin (it's not even pastrami, but just go with me here), but still equally delicious and it goes GREAT with a bagel. I think I actually prefer it with a bagel?? *ahem Katz I held the pickles because I'm not a fan, but definitely get the SPICY mustard! BIG SURPRISE/KICK when you bite in. We initially just got one to share between the two of us, but after the first bite, I couldn't stop! so my bf ended getting a second one... of which I ate half of.... OOPS

Yelp
I'd say the salt beef beigel is worth four stars all on its own. I'm still thinking about it as I type. That said, the pork roll was just OK. But maybe my mouth was just used to the wonderful salt beef so much so that it rejected all other dishes as inferior. Just saying...
