If you have a longer layover, the airport features excellent hourly hotels and rest zones that are exceptionally clean and well-maintained. For food enthusiasts, this airport is a treat, as it houses high-quality outposts of famous local brands like Bianyifang for authentic Beijing roast duck, allowing you to sample the city's finest flavors without leaving the terminal. Before you arrive, it is useful to know that the Airport Express train is the most reliable way to reach the city center, connecting you to the subway network in about 20 to 30 minutes and helping you bypass the city's notorious traffic. If you need to stay connected, keep in mind that the free Wi-Fi requires a password which can be obtained by scanning your passport at one of the many self-service kiosks located throughout the halls. For those traveling with children, the airport offers fantastic, well-equipped play areas that are perfect for burning off energy before a long flight. Regarding warnings, the sheer size of the terminals means that walking distances can be significant, so it is vital to arrive at least three hours before an international flight to comfortably clear security and immigration. Beijing’s security protocols are among the most thorough in the world, so be prepared to remove all electronics and power banks from your bags for individual screening. It is also important to note that power banks must have a clearly marked capacity or they may be confiscated. While there is plenty of English signage, downloading a translation app that works offline is a smart move for communicating specific needs to staff. Finally, if you are arriving late at night, be aware that the train services stop around 11 PM, so you should head directly to the official taxi rank and ignore any unofficial drivers offering rides in the arrivals hall to ensure a safe and fairly priced journey to your hotel.

Terminal 3 is huge, super fancy, and really modern. The design is really cool – everything feels open and spacious. Tons of shops, restaurants, and just overall a nice vibe. Walking around feels kinda like a mini mall, and everything is shiny and new – definitely gives you that “wow” feeling. They do have free Wi-Fi, which is awesome… but heads up: it’s heavily filtered. So forget about Google, Instagram, Facebook, and all that stuff – won’t work unless you have a VPN. Terminal 2, on the other hand, feels smaller and older. There are fewer flights, so it’s quieter and way less crowded, which is nice if you just wanna chill and not fight the crowds. Overall, both work, but if you’re looking for that modern, stylish airport experience, T3 is the place to be. T2 is more relaxed and low-key.

Terminal 3 is massive in size, yet everything feels surprisingly easy, smooth, and well organized. Wayfinding is clear, and the overall passenger flow is very efficient. The cleanliness level is excellent, especially the toilets which are spotless and well-maintained at all times. The spacious design, comfortable walking areas, and systematic layout truly make it a world-class terminal. Overall, a very pleasant and stress-free travel experience.

Beijing Capital International Airport is a large and busy airport, but overall quite well organised considering the volume of passengers it handles. It feels modern, especially in Terminal 3, which is spacious and has plenty of natural light. Security and immigration can take time, particularly during peak hours, so it’s important to arrive early. Once you’re through, the terminal is fairly easy to navigate with clear signage in both Chinese and English. Walking distances can be long, so allow extra time to reach your gate. There are good food options ranging from Chinese cuisine to international chains, and plenty of duty-free shops. Prices are typical for an international airport. Seating is decent, though some areas get crowded near boarding. Transport into the city is convenient with the Airport Express train and taxis readily available. Overall, it’s a busy but efficient airport and generally a smooth experience if you plan ahead.

Not going to argue about how everything is so huge. A lot of wasted spaces, like in most airports. Beijing being China’s capital, I expected more. To start with, at the boots for international transfers, they only have 2 xray scanners for luggage. Security is really strict about batteries, and that’s fine (they got one of my magsafe ones), but then they’re just doing their job. What is disappointing is that they only got 2 xray scanners? To get out tbh, had to wait more than one hour standing in a long queue with mad security shouting. It says no photography, so I guess I’m a little criminal. It has a lot of shops and luxury brands shops. Little choices for food. As you came out of international transfers, food choices were 2. KFC and Pizza Hut. There were a couple more in a few meters, one said something like “WESTERN STYLE CUISINE”. Anyone would know to stay away from those. And a couple of starbucks too, but Starbucks food choices might not be top, or not for me, that I came to know it as a coffee shop more than the food it makes. No offense to Starbucks here, they’re great, taking nothing away from them, just expressing my personal opinion. Got to leave them 1 star more for cleanliness and water refilling stations

Fairly quiet airport at night, with most shops closed except for a few major cosmetic brands. Food options are very limited, and the Starbucks is average at best. Unfortunately, the toilets have an unpleasant smell, similar to an underground basement. The Wi-Fi is also quite restricted and doesn’t allow proper internet use, with no access to most social media platforms. On the positive side, there are plenty of seats and charging stations throughout the terminal. However, vending machines do not accept credit cards and only work with cash, QR codes, or face recognition.

One of the largest and most advanced airports in the world. Plenty of places for passengers to rest while waiting for the flights ✈️. A train is required to get to the baggage claim section. Very clean, spacious, well maintained.
