"Like the name implies, this is family-run bakery is a daytime dining spot specializing in classic Lebanese fare like kibbeh both fried and served tartare-style, shawarma, and plenty of fried hot and cold mezze. The handmade breads include deliciously flaky lavash, fluffy and puffy khoubiz flatbread, plus baked garlic chips perfect for dipping. Orders are accepted online for carryout." - Danny Palumbo

Oh man! The schwarmas, dinalis, and pickled turnips are so good here. I always love chatting with the staff too! They’re very kind. This is the only place where I can find lemon and mint pop! Definitely recommend!

If you're looking for a shop that sells beautifully prepared, fresh and delicious Middle Eastern foods, look no further than Beirut Bakery. They have a wide array of homemade delicacies, from salads to soups to dips to sandwiches to main courses to dessert, and everything I have tasted has been fantastic. You can order online, call in an order, or just show up, and your order will be handled by the really welcoming, capable and cheerful counter staff. I wish I could give them 10 stars, the place is so great!

Google
This place is the BEST!!! Their food is so fresh, flavorful, and is reasonably priced. They were so generous on my bday and gave me some free baklava. Everyone there is very helpful and genuine. If I could eat there every day I totally would.

Google
I love this place. GREAT, fresh food, with food pricing. The cold counter has food ready to eat, or food to be heated to serve. My six year old even loves their shawarmas!

Google
Order a chicken shawarma with fries for lunch. It was made quickly, tasted fresh, and absolutely delicious! Will absolutely be back again for the same meal and to try some of the to go dips and other options.

Found this local bakery while here in Detroit for a long weekend. Great atmosphere, quality food, service, and great people. I felt like family here because it established and operated by family! I felt like I was invited in the their family kitchen for a meal! I had the chicken shawarma with fries and tabouli. Best shawarma I’ve had. Fries probably the best I’ve had. Taboula very refreshing. The lady who helped me was very warm and welcoming. She even let me try a grape leaves and it was amazing. I will need to take some togo along with their baklava. Great price too! I wish I had more space in my luggage to take home more of their food home. Best meal I’ve had here in Detroit and a great way to finish my trip. Thanks Beirut Bakery! God is good. The owner was around and got to chat a little bit with him. He let me try a few oranges from his tree he’s been raising for 44 years. Very nice way to take some vitamin c.

Yelp
Small but mighty deli/takeout-oriented space with some bulk basics lining the register area (pita bread, pita chips, dry lentils, feta). I love bringing their baklava to my customers when I'm in the area, one of these pans are gone within an hour once I drop them off. The team here is always friendly and helpful, they even box the treat up so it looks professional. From the grill I've only had the falafil sandwiches and they are always crunchy, tangy, and savory from the first bite to the last - one of the best I've had anywhere. The teammate cashing me out recommended a fattoush and hommous wrap next time so I'll be giving that a try. Thanks for making awesome food!

Yelp
I finally stopped in here for lunch and so happy that I did! As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked what could they get for me today. I told the lady it was my first time coming there and she got super excited and said well let me tell what we have! As she went through the menu and told me about all of their offerings, I was so excited by her kindness. They had so many things that I wanted to try but I kept it simple and just got a Chicken Shawmra Salad and a Chicken Shawmra sandwich. Both were very good and the a good portion size. I will most definetly be going back to try other items.

Yelp
I ordered lunch delivery at work. Chicken shawarma (meat only), hummus, and pita bread. I thought the bread would be fresh baked, how you would get it at a Mediterranean restaurant, but it was packaged pita. The food was excellent, nonetheless, and very filling.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Excellent. Even my kids love the shawarmas, hummus, and pita bread. Friendly and quick service is an added bonus.

Kimberly M.

Yelp
They always have great service! The chicken shawarmas are delicious as well. I like the freshness of the availability of products at the bakery.

John H.

Yelp
More grocery store than bakery located on the corner of a residential area off of HWY 96. Since I arrived 30 minutes before closing there weren't many pastries left. I ordered one of each. They were good albeit a tad oily. Order of preference sheefa, spinach pie, and did not care for the meat pie. They have prepared food with some deli offerings such as hummus and variety of pickled items.

Robbie F.

Yelp
The food is great and the wait is never long. There is a very wide variety of treats from baklava to spinach pies. You won't be disappointed. Run through for a treat for home and you'll have fast service and goodies. This isn't a sit down place, so be prepared to grab and go.

Karim J.

Yelp
This family owned Lebanese bakery is one I have frequented over the years. If you don't live close to Dearborn and you're in the Redford/Livonia area, this is a great option for Middle Eastern fare. The owners as well as staff are warm and friendly people. One day I came in really late and apparently they were already closed. But they were nice enough to take my last minute order from me before they completely shut the doors, which I really appreciated. I love everything that they make, and if you want really good fattoush salad dressing they sell it in bottles.

Bob F.

Yelp
There is so much positive to say about this little gem. The staff is very polite and the food is top notch. Hummus is the best. Pitas, shawarmas everything. Honestly I'd rather go here than anywhere else to dine in.

Melanie M.

Yelp
M. Monday The absolute best Food in Livonia! The staff is wonderful, the friendliest bunch of people you will ever meet. The owner is also amazing and eager to please. I've been coming here for almost 25 years now and I have not found a better place to go. I come all the way from Wyandotte some days just to fulfill my cravings for a fatoush wrap. So good!

Donald A.

Yelp
Great place to get healthy homemade take out Middle Eastern . Don't not miss out on this place.

Mae W.

Yelp
I have a special place in my heart for Redford and I have a special place in my heart for Beirut Bakery. My mom used to take me here after school and get me a little natural fruit roll up. Delicious. Best garlic dip around, too.

Chelsea C.

Yelp
Experience with catering/large order was wonderful. Everyone is friendly and helpful, it is extremely clean & welcoming inside. Plentiful parking & amazing prices! The food was absolutely incredible, their garlic sauce is to die for and they offer items I've never been able to find aside from local farmers markets. I will definitely be back ASAP for my own personal snacks & groceries. They're a neighborhood gem!

Tom K.

Yelp
Great for carryout. Freaks pita, hummus, tabouli and other middleastern specialties. Loved it!

Lauren Y.

Yelp
Their food is TOP TIER!! The first time I walked in every single employee was so kind to me and genuinely enjoyed being there. The service was amazing and everyone answered all my questions with a smile. Such a great place with lots of options and authentic food products to bring home and cook with!

Rudy H.

Yelp
Very friendly staff. Tasty food. Very authentic. Found this place on a visit to Dearborn. Very happy I did.

Kristina N.

Yelp
Stellar food for take out. Very reasonable prices. Helpful staff. I have liked everything I have tried here. I especially like their spinach and meat pies, Zatar bread and baklava.

D C.

Yelp
This place is great for lunch. The food is fresh and I love that they have a loyalty punch card.

Angel P.

Yelp
Food are delicious and service is great, but I did get food poisoning from one of their chicken dishes. It's unfortunate because I was a regular. To get food poisoning more than once, their food safety needs to be reconsidered.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Great take out! Had sandwiches and fatoosh salad, everything was fantastic! Had a few desserts as well

Cheryl T.

Yelp
Great service! And I love the hummus and tabouli, the flat bread with cheese on top is amazing too!

Judy H.

Yelp
yesterday i received a extra large sheet of mixed baklava that was shipped with ups. omg, it arrived in 100% perfect condition, not a flake of pure goodness was missing. we immediately opened and tasted the baklava. wow is all i can say. my husband served in the military and has been in 9 different countries and he stated this is the best baklava he has ever had in his 75 years of life. anyone anywhere wanting baklava should immediately pick up the phone and call beirut bakery. the lady on the phone was exceptionally helpful and got our order shipped to us within 1 day. amazing baklava, every person in the world should order right now.

Yelp
If you want a taste of deliciousness Northside of 96,this is the place to come to for a quick bite, family owned restaurant. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES!!!

Diane S.

Yelp
I've been craving their chicken shawarma every since I've been away from home. I was not disappointed!!!! I enjoyed every morsel and was glad they offered the lunchbox. Service is always pleasant even though it can be very busy around lunchtime. Usually the customers and counter people interact positively. Looking forward to going back before I leave and maybe taking some goodie's with me.

Hassan C.

Yelp
Beirut Bakery truly has the best quality in all its menu selections available. I've been here multiple times, and it never ceases to surprise me how delicious everything is. The smell inside the bakery follows you home with all your delectable treats! A must-visit!

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Update to 5 stars! I read a suggestion to have the chicken shawarma on cheese bread. O-M-G! That was the best suggestion I've stumbled across. Also, another five stars for the quick, friendly service. I already plan to have another shawarma for dinner on Saturday.

Sarah J.

Yelp
Impeccable service, even better food. The staff is always so cheerful and ready to help! The best garlic dip I've ever had. The sandwiches are spot on. I have to get at least 3 salads from the cold counter every time I come. I can't wait to come back to get a big box of baklava for the holidays!

Andrea T.

Yelp
This is a decent bakery if you don't have time to get to Dearborn. Quality is okay. Not the best but it's okay.

Ed M.

Yelp
Great salads and service but a keep coming back for the Shawarma! I managed delis at several Hillers Markets for 35 years and loved doing business with them for my service case! Still a huge fan after many years!

Howard C.

Yelp
While the name says bakery, it is much more than that. I always enjoy the variety of Middle Eastern options available from this unassuming, neighborhood stalwart. The service is always top notch.

Jae L.

Yelp
This is one of my fav local spots for shawarma sandwiches and salads mmmm. Well priced and They even do curb side pick up

Demi N.

Yelp
My go to for healthy and fresh Middle Eastern food. The food is definitely tasty. I would recommend

Stacey C.

Yelp
Loved the spinach pie, hummus, tabouli, garlic chips and pita!! I live out of state and if I lived nearby I would be there once a week!!

Hannah H.

Yelp
My first time having shawarma and it did not disappoint!! I had the chicken and the flavor was amazing. Loved the pickled veggies. Spinach and feta pie was good too. Delicious fries. Don't even get me started on the pita and hummus and garlic sauce. I could have easily just ate my weight in that stuff. Be prepared to have garlic oozing from your body for hours but man is it worth it.

Zach W.

Yelp
Love everything about this place. Their madjadra is CRACK. Not literally, obviously, but, you know... and, I'd bet if all you got from their menu was their chicken shawarma, you would tell all your friends about how good it was. Staff is always awesome to boot. Get it. I've been getting it for years and years and years.

Ginny M.

Yelp
Excellent food!! The staff goes above and beyond to make your experience the best it can be. I would highly recommend Beirut Bakery to anyone!

Maroush U.

Yelp
Excellent chicken or beef swarma sandwiches!! Tastes so fresh- well it is!! we really enjoy every bite!! Deserts are awesome too. Next time I will try the soup!! Can't wait!!!

Shunda B.

Yelp
I'm honestly at 3.5 rating but i'll bump it up to 4 stars since we can't do halves. Lol! I've honestly only had the chicken shawarma ($4.99) and falafel sandwich ($3.99); I will start being a little bit more adventurous. I love the fact you can see everything upfront in the deli case and tasting is also allowed. I definitely suggest calling in your order so you wouldn't have to wait because this place always seems to be jumping with people (which is a good thing). The only mistake i made was i stood in the cashier line before going to counter and placing my order - honestly it doesn't matter really but that just mean you'll have to wait so your ready can be started which only takes about 10 to 15 mins. Also you might invest in their "black card membership" for $1 - I think if you purchase 10 sandwiches then you get the 11th free. So don't over look this place - for years i don't this was a bakery which sold donuts and/or breads. Lol! Happy Eating!!!

James H.

Yelp
Very close to my office so I go here quite a bit. Stop by on Friday for raw Kibbe day! There are two places I trust to make raw kibbe and this is one of them. I admit the thought of eating it kind of freaked me out at first until a trusted friend convinced me to try it. Now it's one of my favorite things in their menu! Life is short, so be adventurous!

Felice G.

Yelp
The food is the freshest of the fresh, seasoned well, and extremely delicious. My absolute favorites to eat in a meal: stuffed grape leaves with meat, cabbage salad, beet salad, yogurt salad, pickled turnips. Have fun sampling the many delicious items here! Also the employees are very friendly and get you taken care of fast!

Chris H.

Yelp
Definitely delicious Worth the wait Love the employees all in good spirits Food is amazing definitely get the chicken shawarma with extra garlic sauce

Fabiola Z.

Yelp
The food was extremely delicious. they catered my son's wedding everything was superb.

Rachel D.

Yelp
Always delicious. Best hummus in town! When we visit family across the state they ask us to bring the hood hummus!

Penut B.

Yelp
The food has gotten worse in the years but since i'm local and like the owners we will always eat here! The cheese bread is so great!

Shana M.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the service superb! Everything is made fresh. I love their mujadara sandwiches, which they add cabbage salad to. The chickpea salad, lentil soup, vegetarian grape leaves and hummus are all wonderful. I don't know what their hiring and training processes are, but their staff members are consistently friendly, efficient and always willing to accommodate special requests. I bring Beirut Bakery food to parties and it is always appreciated.

Josh C.

Yelp
I don't go here often because it's nowhere near where I live; however, it IS pretty close to my mom's workplace, which is how I became aware of it at all. But I was born in Dearborn and am intimately familiar with this type of cuisine, so when I say that this casual establishment offers some of the most delicious and high quality food I've ever had, please take it seriously. Even the pita bread alone is enough to drive out for, but the mjaddera? To die for. If the possibility of grabbing some take away from here is feasible, do it. You'll fall in love.

Savannah P.

Yelp
Very good food, have to stop here & leave a review tho. It's been a very long time since I've been there, and not sure if it was the owner (woman) whoever she was that approached me. I wasn't ready to order, and I felt rushed. Not a good look for business. The fattoush salad is alright, I just think there's too much cucumber & tomatoes, and a little bit of lettuce.

Sara G.

Yelp
This place is my very special Middle Eastern not-so-secret stop on the way home to get dinner and essential snack provisions. The service is always friendly and stellar and the food is fantastic. They have the BEST baba ghanouj outside of Dearborn, hands down. Maybe even the best baba in Detroit, period. It's so smoky and flavorful. Pair that with their homemade pita chips for a marvelous belly filler! On Fridays they serve raw kibbeh, but it sells out fast. Can't make it there by lunchtime? Call first and they'll put some aside for you. They close early during the winter months, so I'm forced to limit my visits. But then I have something to look forward to every spring!

Deborah W.

Yelp
Love this pLace. Consistently yummy chicken fatoosh salad (add feta). The dressing is fabulous!
