Great authentic Lebanese food, been coming here for over 30 years, amazing garlic sauce This is a family run restaurant dating back to 1983. I’ve been coming here since I was a child. The menu has only gotten better with time. All their dishes are made to order and always taste very fresh. They have some of the best toum (garlic sauce) in the twin cities. Highly recommended if you enjoy middle eastern food.

If you have never had Lebanese food, the Beirut Mezza is a good starter to try. It gives u chance to try alittle of everything. Glad our servicer recommended it.

First time there great experience waitress was awesome constantly on the move. Interesting food worth the try at least once to find out if you like it. Baked cauliflower was my favorite.

I haven’t been here since pre pandemic. The fried Cauliflower is fire! Friends there is going to eat, there is going to eat and having good food, then, there is going to eat and the food is so good your soul is as full as your belly! Won’t be waiting so long to come and eat again. Amazing food, amazing service and amazing atmosphere!

We went here with another couple for a dinner. We did not have reservations and had to wait about 15 minutes. There were a few tables without people at them, but all of the servers were moving about quickly like they were slammed. When we were seated, our server Nicole was friendly, but definitely seemed rushed. Our drink orders took a while to get to us, and one person's drink was forgotten initially. The food we had was great! We ordered the toum (garlic dip) and fried cauliflower appetizers. The toum is amazing, and yet so simple. For dinner my wife had the The Cedars, a dish of chicken and gyro meat with rice, and I had the Laham Mashwi Lamb(basically Lamb kabobs) with a side of tabbouli. The lamb was super tender and delicious and my wife's meat was great as well, and the portions were large. Overall the experience was good, but I think we either went when they were short staffed or they were just busier than normal.

Perfection. The lebanese shawarma sandwich is just pure perfection. The toum “garlic sauce” is out of this world majestic. I will absolutely follow this place all the way down to Rosemount.

I need to come back for dinner.... I stopped in for lunch and they have a simpler menu. I ordered the pride of Lebanon with lamb and rice. The dish looked fairly basic but was delicious and had some really good flavors. Service was friendly and fast. Lunch menu prices are very reasonable.

THE BEST CHICKEN KABOBS!! This place is a family favorite! And get the Fattouch salad😍. Everything is always fresh, and the staff is great! I love the renovation they did, they have great seating and a cute little bar.

Absolutely delicious. Crispy falafel, fresh perfectly cool & refreshing fattoush salad & chicken kabobs languishing on a bed of nicely seasoned rice pilaf. Attentive service & a pleasant atmosphere make this a winning restaurant to enjoy well-prepared food.

This was a good option for some different food while we needed to stay in the area for a few hours. Authentic Lebanese in a no frills location/ atmosphere. Our server was sweet although she had not had a number of the items on menu she was able to share what is frequently ordered & enjoyed. We had a misstep with our order not expecting meat in the baked eggplant dish. That was on us for not asking questions. The appetizers were delicious and next visit we will stick to small plates. They made a solid Moscow Mule served appropriately in the copper mug. Dessert was the only let down. I do not know what it was supposed to taste like but it was basically a shallow ramekin of whipped cream and some thin tasteless chewy substance on bottom.

Good experience, friendly staff and good quality food but lacked seasoning for me. Overall, I thought the food here was ok. We ordered the Beirut Mezza for 2 so we can try a little bit of everything. The veggie dishes were better than the meat dishes in my option. The baba ghanoush was very smoky and delicious! The staff was very friendly and willing to explain each dish for us. The kabobs were juicy and I really like the veggies added with them too- I did wish there was more seasoning/flavor on them though. For dessert we tried 3 different items and the baklava was the best of the 3. The drinks here are good though- I had the strawberry mint mule and found it very refreshing. I usually don't mind paying more for good food but I didn't feel like this place was worth the price. All in all, nice to have Lebanese cruise in MN!

Owner John Khoury is amazing. He arrange for a group of 30 to come and sample some of the best Lebanese Cuisine in the Twin Cities. Beirut has a great vibe, family style dining with a staff that is really helpful if you are less familiar with this incredible food. We had two salads, tabouli and classic Greek, hummus, eggplant, pita and falafel in an amazing sauce. Our entrees were beef shawarma and chicken kebob on skewers with rice pilaf. The meats were tender and so flavorful, the rice is savory, the hummus and sauces were like you would get in a home. Simply Amazing Beirut and special thanks to your staff for the hospitality!

Food was good, although the service was a bit slow for it being not very busy. The restaurant is fairly small. They do have a different menu for lunch and dinner so be aware of that if you're looking at the menu online. Plenty of parking spots outside the restaurant.

I had lamb and beef kebabs. Liked beef better than lamb meat that was little chewy. Rice was delicious

Nice restaurant inside, located near a bingo hall. The service was friendly and we otherwise had a nice time with the Labneh appetizer and the house salad. But when the meat came out things took a turn. The gyro meat is unlike any I've had before, and not in a good way. It was dry and tasted as though the lamb was not fresh. I took one bite of gyro meat and couldn't do it. I got the shawarma which came with a mint sauce. The flavor was fine? I wasn't wow'd. I'd probably stick with chicken at this place, and the salad and appetizers.

Overall worth the visit. The falafel was fantastic and so was the fried cauliflower. The lamb kebob is overall what brought down our rating - was pretty bland but with the sauce from the appetizers it was 10x better. The gyro platter was fantastic but only because of the added sauce as well, otherwise would've been a little bland as well.

When I can keep to the plan, I write my reviews based on the food and this place is a winner. They make it easy. I love the freshness, herbs, appetizers and the fries. Our party of 6 shared Baba Ghanouj, Kbaykeeb, and Zahret el-arnabeet. I absolutely loved all three, but especially the first two. I enjoyed the Lebanese Shawarma and my, oh my. I would order it all again just because it was so good, and I also wouldn't hesitate to explore other options because I have never disliked anything our party has ordered! After the apps, I wasn't quite able to finish my large meal. No problem! Containers to-go (and not styrofoam). Amazingly, my Shawarma leftovers tasted fantastic cold right out of the fridge. Our party was very happy with this experience, even after having traveled from Plymouth to get here!

Fantastic. Got the mezza so I actually tried most of the menu. And basically everything was amazing. Best falafel I've ever had. Dessert was also amazing. Don't think you could go wrong with any menu item. The vibe is very relaxed but nice and not super upscale. Would be a nice date place. Everyone was super nice and wonderful.

Very Tasty food and it's family restaurant so you can taste that they kept the consistency of flavor within their dishes and appetizers. I high recommended for any first timer to tried. You will not be disappointed by this well run family restaurant serving their cuisine. Will definitely come back for more! Service was good, great customer service. Ambience was very nice. Nicely lit and a very cultural vibe family.

Literally everything is delicious. EVERYTHING!!! My favorite is the cauliflower as an appetizer. It melts and is warm, cozy, and amazing! The chicken and pilaf Heaven. My favorite spot!!!

I can't believe I've driven past here 1000x and never noticed this little hidden gem. A friend that lives in the neighborhood recommended it to me after she brought this garlic spread to my BBQ - omg I basically ate the whole container and felt bad I ate up her delicious spread, but not really. We finally dined in and I'm not super familiar with this kind of cuisine so we asked for recommendations and decided on the full spread for 2. It was definitely a full spread the 4 of us shared and couldn't finish it, but everything was so good! So fresh and delicious. Holy land is whack in comparison guys. Our waitress was so sweet and the restaurant is super cute inside.

we love this restaurant! one of our staples of the past was the Byblos Entree--- best ever combination! We still miss it. When we were young our parents brought us to this restaurant. The Byblos was always my Dad's meal. it's no longer on the menu, but most of the menu items have allowed us to create our own Byblos using the ala carte. OH NO!---the last some times we have gone, the cabbage rolls; our favorite! have not been available. Always has been our favorite and we hope they might be added back to the menu soon. We love Shish restaurant in Saint Paul too, but what sets the Beirut Restaurant apart is the charm, the staff, and the cabbage rolls and dolmus

Favourite restaurant in Twin Cities. Sorry I only just discovered and now have moved away. Garlic flavour is unbelievable. Everything my party of four tired was terrific. I am a huge fan of baba ghanoush and theirs was on point. Even the rice was full of flavour and fantastic.

Food is exceptional. The owners and staff do everything possible to make your experience a pleasant one.

Beirut restaurant has good food but they are not customer friendly..numerous times we've tried to get food to go, and not available to go, for one reason or another..last night we arrived at 7:53 pm and couldn't get seated because they closed at 830.its Friday night and not able to be seated and enjoy dinner, and actually rude about it...won't be going back. Went to Joseph's and enjoyed a truly delicious dinner and exceptional service..lamb tostadas and the prime rib were both very good..

Should've posted sooner (we went during Valentine's Day weekend). As expected, the restaurant was busy, but they seated us quickly. Our waitress was on top of things and the food - the rice especially - was tasty.

VERY Authentic Lebanese food. First time trying this restaurant, and for sure will be coming back again . The baked chicken and potato platter was particularly awesome. Tabbouli salad is so refreshing, and a must have. Hummus tasted like home made. Honestly, you won't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Trying something new. Started with bread and garlic. Garlic is strong and it would be nice if the bread was warm, but was tasty. We tried a lot of dishes, and here are our ratings: Beef Kabobs - good Chicken Kabob - good Gyro Pocket Sandwich - better Shish Taook - better Sirloin Schwarma - best For dessert we had Shaibiyet - awesome! Really good restaurant, with unique set of flavors.

Totally bummed. A friend and I were in the area to visit a sick friend, so I told her we MUST stop for some take-out. I have always ordered "The Sampler Platter for Two." They informed me that they now only offer that on Fridays and Saturdays during lunch. Since it was a Thursday, I asked if they could ask the chef if he would be willing to make us each a sampler for two. Without even asking the chef, she said "absolutely not." So we perused the menu, asked some additional questions and received answers from employee that felt condescending, rather than helpful. Ultimately ordered 4 gyro dinners to go. Meat was dry. Pita was hard. Thumbs down. Truly disappointed. Especially since I recommended it to my friend.

I can't believe it's been 6 years since I reviewed "the Port". I also can't believe we have been coming here for almost 15 years now. During that time the Port has been one of our favorite restaurants not just in Minnesota, anywhere. The Sultan continues to be one of my favorite dishes. It is comfort food to the max. They have made some menu changes and updates over the years. The most exciting and tasty update is on their appetizer menu. They now have Arrayess. What is that you might say? They are essentially mini sandwiches made with their Lebanese bread and garlic sauce that are toasted. They are outstanding. In fact the first time we ordered them, there was a fight for who got the last sandwich. All I can say is someone here got the sandwich and someone had their feelings hurt and almost lost some fingers. :-) Now when we order, we'll place two orders. Even though this is an appetizer, you could easily make a meal out of these sandwiches. We continue to love the Port and look forward to our next visit.

My family and I were there last night up until close. I've never had a restaurant ask us to leave in the middle of us wrapping up our food and check. I don't know if it was the owner but it started with our waitress first. We asked for dessert and she hesitated to offer us any. She reluctantly brought us a slice of cake to go. She reluctantly gave us another drink when we asked. She immediately gave us the check and cleared our table and then said "we're closed now". Meanwhile, my elderly in-laws were both using the bathroom so we were waiting on them. My SIL was dealing with the check so we were still hanging around waiting on the in-laws and the owner comes out and says "Thanks for coming by but we're closed and we need to get out of here". The rudeness outweighs the food experience because I don't care how delicious your food is, nobody wants to come back to an establishment that is impolite. After spending well over $100 and then being booted out the way we did, there is no way we are returning to this joint. Just FYI, they close at 8 pm and they want you out at 7:59 pm. The whole damn restaurant was out by 8:15 pm. Close the damn place at 7:30 pm then if you don't like stragglers

Wish I came here sooner! I quality of the food is great here. I loved the vegetarian dinner for two. We got to try a little bit of everything which is always my style. The falafel, eggplant, rice and fries were some highlights.

As a Lebanese-American, I grew up with many of the dishes on the menu here. The ones I had were the low maintenance types of hummus and baked kibbe. This restaurant knocks the Lebanese comfort food items (hummus, baked kibbe, tabouli) out of the park and absolutely rocks the labor intense ones like cabbage rolls. It's extremely rare to even see cabbage rolls on a menu and even rarer to have them be this good. An incredible place not to be missed.

Three of us had lunch - first visit but was referred by a friend who is Lebanese. We shared appetizers to try them and each had a different entree that we also shared bites of --- all of the dishes were wonderful. The service was friendly and helpful in answering questions and special requests. We will all return!!! We also shared a dessert which we allowed our server to select -- it was yummy!!! The interior, including the restrooms, is spotless and very nicely decorated. Easy to have a conversation over a fine meal experience. Sorry - didn't take photos.

WOW WOW WOW I was sent here by a friend's recommendation, and I was not disappointed. We ordered the Mezza for 2 that was really enough food for 3+ people, but I'm not complaining. We started with Hummas & pita bread, Baba ghanouh, tabouli, falafel, kibbee, grape leaf rolls, cauliflower, shawarma, loubieh, and olives. By the time we finished the appetizers, we were already full. Everything was so delicious and I'm glad we got to try almost everything on the menu. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! We also got 2 kabobs each with the Mezza, and when they brought out this platter, I had honestly forgotten it was coming. We tried 1 kabob of each, Lahem mishweh beef & lamb, a shish ta'ook, and a kafta kabob. The lamb kabob and the chicken kabob were my favorite, but everything was good. It came with rice and vegetables and was honestly too much food, but we kept eating because it was so good. Then dessert - I can never say no to baklava, and man I'm glad I ordered that, too. It was a perfect way to end a savory meal. I can't wait to come back.

Well, I wanted to love this place, but it fell short of my expectations. I give it 3 stars, because the staff was friendly and on top of things. Everyone working there seemed to really enjoy it and interacted with the diners. So I ordered the Greek Gyro Platter, as the menu in my opinion was limited and for a first time Lebanese food experience I wished I had other options. So by default I went with the gyro. This however I will say was probably not the best choice. The gyro meat was a little on the dry side, but not overly dry. The one thing that sealed the deal for me was the Tahini sauce and the onions/tomatoes that almost reminded me of a Mexican pico as it was combined (freshly cut tomato and onion would have been better option). I just could not get with the overall taste. However, I will say I have always had gyros with Tzatziki sauce so I can't truly compare if this was a good Tahini or bad. However, I just knew it didn't work for me. Overall this was a cute and welcoming place. I don't regret trying it based on its high reviews, but I was underwhelmed in this experience.

(5/5) Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The chicken kabobs were juicy and cooked to perfection. The salad was tart and refreshing. The rice was good. I would recommend this place. It's a gem in the West Side.

I've been coming here for decades and the food has remained incredible. I often crave it and it certainly the best Mediterranean restaurant around. family owned and great service. Yeah.

Mediterranean food is my favorite and Beirut is the BEST in the twin cities, hands down. We live a mile away and have been going here for years and it is always consistently delicious. The falafel is fantastic and the chicken kabobs are always just perfect. I don't know how they do it. The garlic spread goes great with everything and I can't get enough. They sell their garlic spread and Babaganuj and other things to go as well. The best!

Our experience ordering was great. They have a system to pickup food on the half hour. My food was fresh and ready to pickup on time. The food itself was okay. We had the fried eggplant appetizer. It was tasty but very very oily. Our main dish was the chicken and lamb kabobs with tabbouleh. Kabobs were okay. Mildly flavorful and a little dry. The garlic sauce was an interesting addition but a little strong for my taste.

Back in 1983 I was one of the first people to eat at the then named "Port of Beirut". That was the same day the I opened my software business. 36 years later we're both still standing. Software gets new releases and restaurants get remodeled. Beirut is back after a month or so of remodeling... and it's as good as ever! The little stage that the belly dancers used is gone, the decor has been modernized, and the seating is more comfortable. There's a nice little bar up front. All-in-all, a good remodeling job. This time I became the Very First Customer after the remodel (hey... that makes TWO Number One's! The beloved Dorothy and I were the first two customers at Holman's Table when they opened up!) I went with what I had on my first meal. As always, I started with the baba ghanouj, a traditional smoked eggplant dip served with pita. I think that Beirut has the best baba I've ever had. Smokey and smooth, it's spectacular. For my dinner I got the mixed chicken and lamb skewers with sides of rice pilaf (included) and tabouli (extra). If you look at the photo, you'll see a cup of Beiruit's garlic sauce. This stuff is addictive! You'll never be troubled by vampires after eating it... The chicken and lamb was grilled to perfection, and the rice was cooked just the right amount. For three and a half decades I've loved the food at Beirut. I've never been disapointed. YOU won't be either. Service is fast and friendly... you feel part of the family there. Treat your self to the finest Lebanese food in the Twin Cities... head over to Beirut.

Best falafel and gyros and chicken kabobs and hummus anywhere. YummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmAmeer. The service is very non friendly and seem bothered by serving you. But whatever the food is to die for.

Great food, attentive service, nice dining area. The location isn't all that convenient for people in the suburbs but it's worth the trip!

LIVID. A 20+ year customer and will likely NOT go back soon. Husband and I went with our young daughter. We always get Mezza for 2 and order her a separate FULL entree (she doesn't like most of the items in Mezza). THEY DENIED OUR ORDER OF MEZZA unless everyone at the table got it ($45 up charge) or she couldn't sit at our table. I understand not wanting 3 adults to share a 'meal for 2' but a CHILD?! We wanted a separate entree for her and were going to pay full price. What a joke - NOT WORTH $155 whatsoever. Many items previously included had changed anyway. (Plus, our waitress said Mgmt was not going to make an exception - decision MADE!)

We are Long time customers who forgot about how delicious everything is here. We ordered the family dinner to go. Everything was perfect except the Tabouli. We got some pretty old, soggy, limp, drippy Tabouli. There was no way it was made that day, or even the day before. Sorry to say... we had to throw it away. We did enjoy the Gyro eat and the pita bread... as well as the Falafel side we ordered.

Great food. Perfect flavors and textures. I had a Lebanese mother-in-law so I know Arabic food. Beirut is top notch.

One of my very favorite meals, so good! Order Biblos platter at lunch. Completely remodeled just before shut down so very clean and nice surroundings, spread out enough too.

Such a great restaurant! So glad my wife was looking for a new restaurant to try out. I have little experience in middle eastern cuisine, so when we ordered the Mezza for two, I was very happy with the variety of the dishes that I was able to try, and loved them all! The atmosphere in the restaurant is very welcoming, clean and friendly. Loved the decor and the bar area as well. Definitely added to my regulars now.

My step mother is Lebanese so I figured I would give this place a try since I was in the area. The staff were very friendly and courteous, the menu was very easy to understand, it wasn't cluttered or anything. I ordered falafel and chicken kabobs, with a side salad and my girlfriend ordered the same thing. We also had the colada's they had on the menu, those were very good also. The server was very kind, and we didn't have to wait very long for the food, and it was great, so I will definitely be back. Also the owner was there she was also very polite, overall this visit was very very nice, they made me feel warm and they weren't pushing us to order fast because it was almost closing time, I'll be back. If you are looking for a place that has that Lebanese feel, and the food and service is great, well look no further!

There are some things I'll always order. Hummus appetizer, falafel platter, and the ashtaliyi dessert, iced tea. Anything else like kabobs would be an add on. The rice pilaf is the best. If you leave any one of these out, you'll feel like something is missing. The take away I got hooked on is garlic by the pint. A solid white sauce for crackers or garlic replacements, such as sauce or salad dressings. Dress warmly in the winter, there is a chill, but they've turned up the heat on request. A beautiful remodel. Great service and so fun to be visited by owner John Khoury.

We have been doing a lot of take out to support our local restaurants and ourselves not having to do kitchen cleanup! We have been hearing about the great Beirut in West St. Paul. Beirut is owned by a Rosemount family, a very local connection! Plus,I really like falafel; so I was looking forward to experiencing this local gem. We placed our order for a family of 4 falafel meal for $40 and made the trip to West St. Paul to procure our vegetarian feast, and a feast it was! It was so hard to wait to get home to dive in! We got home and unpacked our containers, container after container after container. We got a lot of food for a reasonable price! Many falafel, tahini sauce, a salad, pita bread, and many containers of accoutrement to dress our falafel. Mmmmm, it was delicious. One thing I wish they had was Tzatziki sauce, that was the missing element. We had so many leftovers that we have been actually feasting on it for days. We recommend Beirut and we will be back.

Awesome. Everything from the hummus to the falafel tastes fresh and real. Some of the best falafel I've eaten and you can tell a big difference when it is homemade. The tahini is so good and I really loves the mashed garlic spread. Spread a little of that in the pita or anything on your plate. Looking forward to trying more items. Nice restaurant interior. Quite a few people dining and nice and relaxing. Great service. Prices are average. Can't wait for my next stoning here.

We were there in January. We were so plesantly surprised The food was wonderful. Fresh and 5 star The service was also great. Above and beyond. I wish I lived closer. Next time I'm in town I will be back

What stuck out to me about Beirut was the extraordinary quality of service. The waitress was laid-back yet still professional and always cracked jokes to ease the tension when someone struggled to pronounce the name of a dish. She was very helpful to us while we made our decisions. Many kudos to the wait staff for making the dining experience ten times better. We had the opportunity to try both the mango juice and pineapple juice. These were not as thick as I expected --- but in a good way. All of the flavors I wanted were there, and they paired well with the food. The food, for the most part, brought down my rating. The table tried baba ghanouj, The Sultan, beef shawarma, Djej w/ Batata, and the falafel platter. I found the baba ghanouj to be delicious beyond any expectation and the sweeter flavor of the shawarma to be welcome and delectable. The Sultan, however, was overpowered by garlic. Eaten in combination with the rice, though, the flavor was mellowed to a more tolerable level. The falafel was pretty bland and I found the Tahini sauce to taste a bit too much like sour cream. Finally, the chicken was dry and didn't have a lot of flavor. The lemon wedges helped with the latter, though. Overall, the juices, baba ghanouj, and delightful service were the highlights of this excursion. I recommend the shawarma to any future patrons, but with any meal, make sure to try some mango or pineapple juice.

The food is plentiful, service - attentive, and the pace is very welcoming. However, the flavors are just not there. The hummus was bland, the kefta kebab - fresh, but lacked spices, and same goes for the rest of the food - it just was too bland. While I understand that the majority of the Midwestern population can't take much heat, but adding more middle-eastern flavors would make this place a true gem. I hope the owners read my review and consider some slight improvements.
