Small cafe. Outside sitting area. Average taste pastries. We got little cakes from here, which were okay. This time, I tried the nutella croissant, which was okay. It's definitely a nice stop to grab a bite, not mind-blowing.

Loved my experience here! I got a matcha and their croissant. My matcha was just perfect. I would say it was one of my favourite places for Matcha now. My friend took a coffee, it was great too. Crossiant was top notch too. Cherry on the top was their friendly service. Moreover the ambiance of this quaint little cafe is what steals the show.

I always come here for their sandwiches and coffee. This last time I had one of their lunch salads. The sandwiches are a quick and delicious option when you are looking for a good lunch. Side note : I get their orange juice when I am craving it but it is not freshly squeezed, at least not the pre packed ones.

Today's voyage to the park necessitated an espresso based beverage and some sort of treat. These were excellently found at Bel Ami Cafe. I had an iced caramel latte accompanied by a pain au chocolat (which i prounched with elegance and grace). I wouldn't say it was cheap, but the price was in line with other caffeine and sweet treat dealers. The proximity to the park made this shop perfect, by the time I had arrived in the park, and given the recent heat wave, ma friandise was subtly warm and enjoyed throughly. Post-script: I enjoyed the sigage posted on the front door: "No computers in the cafe". Perhaps I will be back to enjoy a book and coffee!

Google
They are now one of the top 5 places that I will recommend to go for croissants. Pretty impressive, beautiful and crispy layers with soft texture inside. I got one and made myself a sandwich at home. The chocolate mousse cake amazing too, it got a thin layer of sponge cake surrounding and rich chocolate taste. The Sacher cake I got was not that impressive compared to the mousse. It missed a little texture that could deepen the taste in between. I also got their cherry oat scone, not that recommend since it was dry in the middle.

Google
A perfect pitstop en route to Central Park. The Brie truffle sandwich and ice matcha are the ideal summer supper. Thank you Luis for ending a mediocre day with grace and yumminess!

Google
very small homey cafe. the coffee was ok, and pastry looked decent, but i feel like they should use better plates, they use paper plates, and for what i paid for a macaron, they should use good quality plates, but overall this place was a nice spot to grab a snack! workers were also very kind and friendly

Yelp
I don't get to frequent this place often but when I do, I'm always satisfied. So cute. So simple and easy. Just a nice cafe on the corner that offers great drinks, tasty sandwiches and sweet treats and have always been fresh every time I stop by. The round tables, style of chairs and decor as well as outdoor seating are def giving "Europe" and maybe that's the draw? Whatever it is, I'm compelled to leave the comforts of BK, venture into the city, risk spending quantities of my hard earned money and travel uptown to Bel Ami on occasion. Some of the clientele is "meh" but it's UES so I don't have high hopes when journeying up there lol - but I do it anyway bc I really like this place. I recommend their mini baguette sandwiches. They are tasty! And they'll heat them up for you.. something I JUST found out after going here many times over several years.. of course lol.

Yelp
This is such a cute little cafe to stop in but it was very busy throughout the afternoon for the small space. The line got confusing when trying to look at all the food options but it tasted good! I got a $6 iced americano, $7 mini sopressata baguette (delicious bread and came with butter and a Cornichon) heated up and a mini raspberry Linzer cookie! Friendly staff and a public bathroom, definitely a little pricey though

Yelp
We enjoyed coming here before we went to Central Park. It's a really small cafe with about 6 small tables inside and 6 small tables outside, and I say small because it seems to be a super popular cafe! When we were here for an hour or so, we had to wait 5-10mins for a table and there was a line at all times. Staff was kind. We got a dried cherry scone (pretty good), jalapeno cheddar scone (pretty good too) and quich (very good!). The staff only heated up the quiche so if you intend to stay, I'd recommend you ask them to warm up any of the other pastries you'd like. We also got a large caramel macchiato but that was basically just two macchiato shots with caramel syrup - delicious because they use La Colombe beans but it wasn't the macchiato you'd think of from like Starbucks. It was basically 3oz of fluid haha. They also have a restroom:)

Yelp
I have been on a mission to find an amazing dessert. Until today, I have been mildly disappointed. 4th try was a charm at this little coffee shop. Not only was my latte good, they use La Colombe beans, the desserts we ordered were divine. The Passion Fruit Merangie tart was a great balance of sweet, tart, and texture. I wanted more . The other choice was the Dulce de Leche tart . Flavorful, creamy and rich , we were all happy.

Yelp
Decent and solid bakery for French goods. I've had better French pastries, but it's still relatively decent for what they have: tarts, baguette sandwiches, eclairs, and the crookie. All pretty decent, but texture wise, the baguette could've been softer and fresher (was a bit too chewy), the eclair could've had a better texture as well as flavor, and the crookie was decently made.

Yelp
Cute little coffeeshop in upper Eastside. Loved their coffee, didn't try their pastry but the coffee was refreshing after a long day walking in Central Park. If you are in neighborhood worth to stop and get a coffee.

Yelp
Sitting outside on a sunny day, you enjoy the perfect pairing of a freshly baked almond croissant and a rich macchiato. The croissant is golden brown, flaky, and filled with a sweet almond paste that melts in your mouth with each bite. Its slightly crispy exterior contrasts beautifully with the soft, buttery interior. The macchiato made with a strong espresso base topped with a dollop of frothy milk. Sit outside and enjoy the gentle breeze of the early summer in NY.

Yelp
First, I am rating bel ami two stars because two particular employees there have been very rude to me every time I've been in. Yesterday one shorter guy with glasses actually scoffed at me and rolled his eyes after I politely gave him my order. Then there is another woman who's rolled her eyes and scowled at me after I've simply thanked her for toasting my panini. I've been here at least 5 times, and after dealing with both rude employees again yesterday and overpaying for a really dry chicken panino, I decided I would no longer come here. In terms of food, Bel Ami is nothing special. They make decent pressed panini sandwiches, with the best in my opinion being the tuna panino. Their pastries are alright, but like everything else are extremely overpriced. Their cookies are not good, and taste stale, like they've been sitting out for a while. However their coffee is actually disgusting. Once when my boyfriend and I were in the neighborhood, he got a regular drip coffee with cream, and I got a latte. Despite having cream and some sugar, both were so burnt and acidic that we couldn't even finish them, and ended up throwing them out down the street. Edit: I'm talking about the one between Madison and Park. Maybe the one on Lexington is better.

Yelp
Really quaint shop . Always busy on a nice day with outside seating . Counter service .

Yelp
Bel Ami is one of my little gems of a coffee shop in the city. I come here on special days with friends as it always positively contributes to our experience. It's coziness and unique architectural design makes me feel like I'm in a little French village. The staff are always friendly and accommodating to any specific coffee order. Bel Ami's assortment of desserts makes it unique among other coffee shops in the city. My go-to dessert is the Earl Grey macaroon. It's the best of its kind! Even though this location is a bit small and there is a limited number of outlets, I highly recommend people come here for a pleasant coffee outing.

Yelp
Coffee was yummy, got the iced mocha. They had these cute baguette sandwiches that were super mini but expensive. The ambiance was good, nice mellow cafe music and cute inside. Only negatives were price and that there was no WiFi. Would come back for sure !

Yelp
Cute cafe right by Madison Avenue shops. I got an iced latte & one of their mini baguette sandwiches. I sat outside and read my book for a while. Highly recommend stopping into this little cafe!

Yelp
Cute little neighborhood bakery on the Upper East Side, not too far off the path if looking for a snack whilst walking to The Met. Despite the name, there is nothing Slovak about it. Lots of yummy French influenced pastries though. Coffee Eclair: Quite petite, like a traditional éclair should be. Thin springy choux filled with a nice creamy coffee filling, though not too strong a coffee taste. Thoroughly delicious and gone in a few bites. Sacher Cake: A hearty choice for a dessert. Multiple layers of dense chocolate cake and dense chocolate ganache. Perfect with a coffee and a must for any chocolate lover. Rose Lychee Macaron: Delicate crunchy shell and mushy inside, as the texture should be. The flavor was very subtle though, barely tasting like rose or lychee. Passionfruit Mango Macaron: Same great texture, but with a very pronounced passionfruit taste. I love passionfruit, so I loved this one.

Yelp
I was touring some galleries in the area with my family - this was a closeby spot to rest and fuel up for the rest of the day. We fell in love with the adorable winter decor. The place was bustling with people - lunchtime on a Saturday though, so that was to be expected. The workers were fast at moving the line though, and we were able to get a booth in the corner. Even though it was loud my family and I could still hear each other. We loved the macaroons and the beautiful pastry displays behind the counter. I had the gluten-free potato pancake. It was amazing! Not greasy like many others. My family had some quiches and muffins - they said they were delicous. The coffee was so-so. I recommend for a quick stop-in! Helpful: - A bit pricy. but I think it's because they use quality ingredients?

Yelp
This is a great local stop. The sandwiches are fantastic and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very peaceful and absolutely charming. Will absolutely grab a quick bite and coffee there again next time I'm in the UES

Yelp
This is a cute little cafe! The coffee and pastries are really good. I love the cheese danish. There's a very small area to sit inside, but it can get a little claustrophobic so I prefer to get my food to go. It is very popular (and rightly so) and tends to get crowded, but the staff is very efficient and friendly so the wait at the counter isn't very long. Prices aren't too bad considering the neighborhood and the quality of the fare is top notch. I will return again.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop with delicious looking pastries. I Got an Iced latte and it was refreshing. Nice staff that work there. Nice little outdoor seating area too.

Yelp
A little taste of France.. that's where Bel Ami takes you. This is a wonderful patisserie to grab a macaron with a cafe au lait or a baguette: turkey with cornichons, home made tuna salad, smoked salmon with cream cheese on pumpernickel bread.. is your appetite waking up? top it with a cup of chicken or vegetable soup? Are you feeling warm and cozy? There's also gluten free potato pancakes, salads, panini's.. yes this a top of the line gourmet patisserie. The possibilities are endless! After our long walk through Central Park and trying to spot Flaco the runaway owl, we decided to stop by for a warm pick me up. I ordered an Americano and Rochelle had the chai latte.. We shared a bit of decadence: the Belgian chocolate mousse with a dark chocolate topping. I also ordered a decorated cookie for a future dessert. The Americano was a bit strong and needed two packets of sugar in the raw. Rochelle savored her Chai. The mousse was deliciously rich with a velvety texture. There was a hardened piece of dark chocolate swirled through out the mousse and after we got to the bottom, there lie.. cake! Whew! A sugar rush for sure. I took half of mousse home.. too rich to consume all of it. The patisserie has a very cozy and soothing feel.. perfect for a post Bloomingdales shopping visit or post Central Park stroll. Little tables with parlor chairs that are comfy and allows one to sit, relax and enjoy a sweet or savory bite. The service is very friendly and accommodating. Merci beaucoup indeed!

The almond Nutella croissant altered my brain chemistry. Kind service nice atmosphere

Yelp
Nice find of a cafe after a long stroll in Central Park. The inside is quite small, but it was bustling with people on a Saturday afternoon. We got 2 hot chocolates and thought it was a little bit pricier than other cafes I've been to around this area, but the hot chocolate was really good so it's OK. We also got the fruit tart and I thought it tasted really fresh and delicious! I would return to try their coffee if I am in the area again.

Yelp
Oh, was I disappointed here this afternoon! The yelp reviews made this sound like a very good place to meet a friend for lunch. I suppose it's a great place for coffee drinks and desserts, but I don't recommend what we ate. It's great as a patisserie but I would never try having lunch there again. You buy your food at the counter and find a seat. They do have some little round tables inside and out. It was awfully busy at nearly 2 pm, but we snagged a table in a corner and it was fine. My friend had the tomato and mozzarella panini, which they toasted. She ate half, which I thought was not much to eat. I chose the chicken chipotle sandwich on a mini baguette. It was a mush. A chicken salad so finely chopped that it was almost a spread, and fairly tasteless. I guess the chipotle was in the Mayo but I didn't discern any kick to it. There were a few thin, sickly-looking slices of avocado on top. I ordered tea, was asked large or small, said small but got a large cup. I wasn't going to argue. Mt friend had a small coffee. We had the chance to catch up with each other, which was nice, and nobody was rushing us out, but the food was yuck. Maybe I'll chance another visit just for coffee and a sweet treat, but I surely won't have lunch there again.

Yelp
Loved this place! Had both indoor and outdoor seating on a street that is not too busy. The staff was very friendly and there were so many options for food and drinks. I got a chocolate croissant and a prosciutto fig sandwich. They warmed up the sandwich and it was so good with the best crunch. It has the perfect amount of prosciutto and fig jam so it was sweet and salty. It also had Brie which was really fresh. I would definitely order it again. The chocolate croissant was flaky and delicious. I would love to go back and try more of their drinks and pastries!
google avatar

Doris J.

Yelp
Delicious French quiche! I like that they warmed it up and the coffee was perfect on a rainy morning. Cute and themed for the European flare! I'd definitely go back!

Yelp
Beautiful quiet place for a brunch. Went here as I was looking for a great spot on a beautiful late morning and was delighted by the selection of pastries. The coffee was good as well.

Yelp
I got tasty pastries by too good to go apps. GOOD deal and high quality pastries which MADE me so happy, I paid $3.99 and 4 tasty pastries. Thank you !

Yelp
Ok first, the elephant in the room: they make their staff wear obnoxious fedora hats. Everything else about this place is great, cute euro style cafe with elegant decor and a good amount of outdoor seating, gorgeous baked goods, perfect little elevated single-serving deserts, pre packaged sandwiches to take.. my cappuccino was lovely. But the fedoras so lame. really takes a classy spot down a notch. I bet the staff agrees haha.

Yelp
Yelp reviews are spot on! Everything was delicious, great location, outdoor seating - perfect!

Yelp
I was looking for a french brunch place in the upper east side and found this place on Yelp. I came here bec. Of Yelp good review. It's actually a cafe with all food prepped and pre package .I was disappointed.... But since I was there I thout I'd give it a try. Goat cheese spinach salad. Spinach is generic 。nothing special. Balsamic dressing was thick and no olive oil. Quite disappointed. Large cappucino- was milky and coffee was not good. All that for $18 plus. Not coming back here.
google avatar

Kati T.

Yelp
Made a sweet little stop here for some macrons and they did not disappoint. Got the raspberry, Nutella, and blue birthday cake. Would do it again.
google avatar

Yelp
5 stars because the workers r nice!!!!! i got a vanilla latte w oat milk. apparently they make their coffees the traditional style not entirely sure what that means but i like the hats the workers wear lol 5 STARS

Yelp
The macarons here are just delightful. The passionfruit one had a very nice, strong flavor with a standout tartness that left an imprint on your tongue. The foccacia with prosciutto was yummy. Pair any bread here with a soup and you're on your way. I regret not asking for our mini baguette sandwiches to be toasted. They were way too tough but the filling was good. A little toasting and they would've been perfect. Next time!

Evelin G.

Yelp
I hate going into a place excited and employees are rude. Place wasn't busy no wait or anything do don't understand why service sucked. Anyways good coffee and decent matcha. pastries were a hit or miss.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute establishment within a 5-10min walk from 5th ave (near Central Park). Seating is limited and only for 20min at a time. But luckily they also have a restroom! Ordered the ham and cheese sandwich (small but delicious), the chocolate croissant, quiche, and canelé. The desserts went so well with cappuccino, which I got extra foamy. Definitely a quaint place to go for a quick meal.

Alyssa S.

Yelp
Good macarons! Not so great chai. Cute spot for a coffee date in the area. Reasonably priced with a nice small selection of pastries.

J. N.

Yelp
Great coffee and pastries... sandwiches not great. Nice atmosphere and convenient location

Mary E.

Yelp
Best kept secret on the East Side! Delicious food, courteous staff, spotlessly clean! Will definitely eat there again !

Minrui H.

Yelp
There have good view in the outside to seat. You can have your dessert while feeling the nyc street. I get the cafe Au lait and tiramisu. The small coffee like 3.75$ the tiramisu like 8$. The coffee is decent for me, and taste not sweet and not bitter. It just mild. So I would recommend get some little sweetness pastry. Also they have restroom to use. It is so hard to find restrooms in nyc street lol.
google avatar

Jona M.

Yelp
Decent pastries, just ok iced coffee. I remember trying their cappuccinos awhile back and those are pretty good. Service is fast but not very friendly or particularly nice. Small spot so could feel tight, but when the weather is nice they have outside seats. Wouldn't go out of my way to go here but if I really need my coffee fix, it is one of the only spots close to CP in this area.
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
A great spot for a little treat or date. Split the pecan pie with my friend and it was perfect and nice seating outside!
google avatar

Maddie G.

Yelp
My parents and I went to this tiny French restaurant and had such a magical time. I had the best cafe au lait of my life (and i've been to Europe) and we all had decent little panini. The stars of the show were the desserts. We got a napoleon thinking we'd take it to go. Nope, we took one bite there and immediately ate the rest. I also got a lavender macaron that was unique and looked beautiful. When we bought a second napoleon to take home, the employees were so nice and they put in 3 free macarons in the to-go box and we didn't even notice until we got back home. The employees were super nice throughout the whole time we were dining in there as well. I'm really looking forward to going back. I really cannot stress enough how good the napoleon is. TRY IT!!
google avatar

Neisha M.

Yelp
Stopped in to shelter from the rain and take a coffee break. Small French cafe with sandwiches and pastries. The service was quite good. The coffee was rather excellent. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the pastries definitely were not fresh. The place got very busy in the short time we were there. Most of the purchase seemed to be take out orders of sandwiches and savory goods, not the sweets! Good for a quick bite or a warm drink.
google avatar

Josh B.

Yelp
Nice little cafe to hangout with a friend over some coffee and pastries. Came on a Saturday afternoon for a midday pick me up. My friend and I each got a coffee and shared a few pastries. The Trilogy was my favorite, a mix of chocolates in an almost cheesecake like texture and richness. The Tiramisu was great too and wasn't too sweet. The Lemon Meringue Tart had a great citrus flavor, the crust was great too. Great little cafe to visit!
google avatar

Karri S.

Yelp
Cute Parisian cafe near the MET. We got a few sandwiches and desserts. The salami and butter croissant sandwich was TINY but tasty (for the same price in Paris I would have gotten a huge version of this). My partner got the Brie panini which was very tasty and better proportioned. The filled brioche bun was good but the cannele texture was rubbery and tasted old. Overall it was good for a short break.
google avatar

Jennifer F.

Yelp
This is for their Lexington location. It's cute. Great location. I thought the coffee tasted burnt/rough. Easily masked if you don't take it black. I brought my own 10 oz mug and they charged me for a large. Too many good options in the city to bother supporting lousy expensive coffee.
google avatar

Laura Alice H.

Yelp
Came in after a long walk in Central Park for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The employees warmly greeted us the moment we walked into the small cafe. The pre made salads were fresh, but a little pricey for the size. Indoor seating was tight, but we were able to find a seat.
google avatar

Pippa J.

Yelp
It is such a shame to see the decreasing quality, selection and service at this formally charming French cafe with delicious baked goods, savory salads and great coffee drinks. It has become an over-run, crowded cafe with hit or miss service and frequently dirty tables. There are too many tables crammed into their enclosed winter "sidewalk seating" and the inside seating is loud, trampled over by those in line to order and just down right unpleasant. The decline seems to correlate with the opening of their second location a few blocks away. It seems the new location has taken priority over this original location. No longer worth the premium charged for their menu items.

Brian D.

Yelp
Best little cafe on the UES!! Adorable, great service, great food, hood so the right notes!

Yelp
My daughter found this place while we were in NYC, and realized we would walk right by it between our AirBnB and Central Park - so we stopped in - eight of us, four adults and four kids (under 10). It was clear we were not their typical customers, and we basically took over their outside, enclosed patio. With that all said, this place is GREAT, marvelous and assorted pastries and coffee drinks and nice people. THANK YOU.

Ted U.

Yelp
i use to love this place and their second location on est 65th st the coffee, food and atmosphere are as good as always.....but the staff's attitude has changed, and not seeing the same folks i use to at 68th st . the 68th st location the counter folks were not engaged as they use to be and then on sunday the 65th location, the young kid was even less, if not annoyed to be doing his job will go back but with less enthusiasm.
