There are always great specials and friendly staff. The food is delicious, as are the craft cocktails! There are cheap beer/shot specials as well as fancy cocktails. The space is super cute and cozy.

Great local bar with fantastic drinks and amazing food. Highly recommend. The rotating food specials are also fantastic. My only regret is not being capable of eating more food in a single sitting.

I'm sorry to be posting a 1 star review mainly because I see how many great reviews this place has. It made the experience my friends and I had there this evening quite the negative surprise. First off- Our server who was also the bartender was very cool and nice. I want to make sure thats known. The problem started when we all ordered the same burger. The ones for my two friends came out first. We were told that mine would be out any minute. While waiting, one of my two friends began to eat and found while her burger was slightly charred on the outside it was raw on the inside. Not rare, but raw. My other friend checked his and it was the same. In the meantime, my burger had yet to arrive. They sent theirs back and roughly 10 minutes later mine arrived and I checked it first. Raw on the inside. At that point we chose to refuse other options as the just plain ruined our experience. The server refused to charge us for what we had (Two sodas, a beer and one appetizer) which I thought was a very nice thing to do and I tipped her, acknowledging that it was not her fault. There are entirely too many great options for food in Chicago for me to ever consider eating here again. Any cook that screws up burgers this badly should find another job, preferably having nothing to do with food service. Lets not forget the potential health issues related to undercooked food as well.

There is nothing you can order here that is not awesome and made with love from scratch. Seriously. I had no idea how good any of these Midwestern Classics could be.

My bf and I tried this for the first time last Wed night. When they we’re getting ready for a pig roast for the following Saturday. Heron, one of the owners was behind the bar and couldn’t have more pleasant. The food was awesome. Bf had the Juicy Lucy. We could def tell that it was flame grilled. He loved it. I had the Cincinnati chili. It’s vegetarian chili and I didn’t even care. It’s that good. Everything is made in-house, down to the ketchup and hot sauce. If you don’t try this place, then you are missing out! Oh, and get the pie. It doesn’t matter what kind of pie. Just get the pie!

Small little place that has great food with a unique flavor profile on classic dishes that is unexpectingly delicious! I had the meatloaf that had a sauce that made the dish pop. Also full bar and decent beer selection. I will definitely be back.

B'el is a cozy cafe style spot with extremely friendly staff serving up quality cocktails and ensuring your happiness. With daily specials and a kitchen that knows, very much so, what they are doing! B'el also takes the opportunity to fill it's walls with Artwork from local artist. Overall...very relaxed, friendly, and cozy atmosphere with a tasty food menu. Highly Recommend.

This place is such a great addition to Avondale! The people here are super nice, the space is unique and inviting, and most of what they serve, even the ketchup, is made from scratch and very good. The meatloaf and shepherd's pie are highly recommended!
