Excellent staff, clean and organized. Props to the cleaning guy who never stopped cleaning. He was also very helpful with everything and anything you needed. Our kids love bowling and their pricing is also reasonable! Highly recommend you try them out.

Good old-fashioned bowling alley, with an arcade area to help pass the time. Everything is clean, and the staff is helpful and friendly. Large free parking lot. Nice place to have a family gathering, team building event, birthday party, or simply to hang out with friends on a Friday night.

Honestly a pretty nostalgic feeling bowling alley. They got the bowling balls the lanes and the bowling shoes all ready to go. For the score keepers they feel very old fashioned too with the classic animations and sounds. Though while there is normal bowling point scores there is also other game modes too. Inside there there is also some kind of bar lounge

They have an arcade game section for customers to spend time while waiting. Some games are enjoyable. The price is high, but the experience is worth it. The lanes are clean and well maintained. The seating was clean and nice, but it caught me off guard at first because 2 lanes seating joined together unlike more modern bowling center where each lane has their own seating and table. It was quite awkward at first to be in another party’s space. The staff were helpful. I asked for a kid helper slide and they brought it to me quickly. Overall, the game for us was exciting and fun. The down side is the food and drinks. I believe the quality could be better. The peach green tea was too sweet, and the pretzel was plain. Their cheese sauce was too salty.

This place is a true classic. It offers a really fun and entertaining atmosphere for all ages. You'll find everything from arcade games and bowling alleys to tasty food, a lively bar, and much more. They've done an excellent job maintaining the place, keeping it both enjoyable and clean.

Staff is excellent,lanes are great. Food is good and they also have a bar, arcade, and a pool table. Sometimes alot of kids birthday parties...making it difficult to bowl seriously with so much commotion. Best to arrive early with a reservation if you're serious about bowling. Overalll, a cool spot.

If you're looking for a fun old-school bowling alley, this is your place! Recently bowled here with my Stanford students, and they loved their experience! This location is accessible by bus, which is a big plus for international students. A big shoutout to Savannah and John for going above and beyond to host us!

I hosted an event for 25ppl a few days ago and everyone had so much fun! Bel Mateo Bowl made it easy for me to reserve and have catering ordered ahead of time (I called them about 2 weeks in advance). The day of the event was smooth and the staff was great! They helped answer our questions and made sure our food and drinks were replenished throughout the event.

Recently came here to celebrate my birthday! Booked my reservation online and there is a $10 fee. The booking and check in process was seamless. When we arrived at 9:30 on a Saturday, we were given our shoes with no wait.. we got two lanes, since we had 10 people. Each lane fits 6 people. They had a good mix of music playing with the names of each song which was nice. The owner was nice and accommodating, letting us bring our boba in, which i appreciated. There was also a small arcade area with Mario kart and two darts in a bar area, which we will definitely be back to try next time. I want to highlight the cleanliness of this place. In the past, I've been to bowling alleys where the bowling balls felt really gross, yaknow the sticky, sweaty feeling... I did not experience it here, which adds a star.

I wrote it before and I'll write it again, Bel Mateo Bowl is the best bowling alley in the SF Bay Area! We just held another bowling night (Sun Oct 19, 2025) for our elementary school families and it couldn't have gone any better. Same as last year, we were able to rent-out all 24 lanes, shoes, pizzas, and drinks all for a very reasonable price. The place was clean and the staff was friendly, kind, helpful, and easy to work with. Again, we extend a HUGE THANKS to John, Savannah, and Alissa as our primary hosts, as well as Lavern, Craig, Paul, and more for all their hard work and making our event a success. We will definitely return again soon and we highly recommend you do as well. Thanks again Bel Mateo Bowl friends, you folks are the best!

Service for this lady who was at the shoe desk needs improvement. She was rude and would not break my cash. Her excuse was she just opened and then forced me to use my credit card. Oh yeah there is a credit card surcharge of 6%. Also she said wait there is an atm right there.

Classic bowling alley with lots of lanes and great for large groups and for a weekend out that isn't just centered on drinking. Easy to book online and quick service upon arrival. Clean space and restrooms. There are options for food and drinks if you want, but nothing outstanding and the milkshake I had was more watery than I'd like. One the weekends once it hits 9, the light will go dark and the lanes have a fun neon glow and lighting with music making it more exciting. There were a few times when the scoreboard would track a Strike that didn't happen, but we let the desk know about that and they switched us to a different lane right away.

Very chill old timey bowling alley that is unassuming on the outside but well-kept on the inside. Many lanes and you can pay per lane by the hour or by game. Several themes to choose from on the game selection screen on the monitor and it lets you take a selfie if you want too. We skipped the selfie step so I can't say how the selfie will be used.

Old school, local bowling alley. Staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive. While not a huge place, there are plenty of lanes, as well as a small arcade and a kitchen and bar for food and drinks. I like the additional bench for added area to eat and drink. Continue to root for Bel Mateo Bowl to succeed and thrive.

We've been coming here for New Year's Eve for a couple years now and Laverne at the bar is TOP NOTCH. She is hustling and making drinks like nobody's business. Hard working is her middle name. The bowling is fun, it's standard, our lane had a pin issue but that's not a big deal! We always have fun and we love going to Laverne for our drinks!!!!! Also - the lights they have for NYE are great

I've been coming to Bel Mateo Bowl, not for the bowling - but for the Karaoke on Friday nights with Super Star Karaoke! Jose and Elena put on a GREAT show!! The sound system they use is clear and Jose knows when to highlight the singer (and when *not* to ...)! Come out for awesome karaoke Friday nights from 7:30-11pm!! Also!! I had the BEST BLT I have ever had in the longest time! Crisp bacon and lettuce, fried bread in butter - SO GOOD!! Thank you to Dayna who made my BLT. KUDO'S to bartender Janine! She is the BEST!!

They have declined me and 2 other people a lane for 1 hour on many different occasions. The staff are not very friendly and the lanes can malfunction if you can even get one. Only time I can consistently get a lane is on the weekends with inflated rates. They also often say come back at 9 and then say there is no lanes when we do come back. Not happy

Great food, friendly staff, amazing ambiance. I always bowl better here. I will be having my next birthday party here! Who wants to come?

This place is relatively big. It was busy for a Friday night with every lane filled. There was plenty of space and staff were very friendly. We didn't try the food here but got beers. Would come back!

Sooooo happy to see this Bowling Center survive the mess created during Covid. There aren't many people in the Bowling landscape that can provide the excellent service and consistency that Mike Leong and crew provide. It was a bumpy time for this place, and they (thankfully) were able to ride it out and keep this fine establishment in the neighborhood as it has been for over 60 years. A beautiful Bowling Center neat and well-maintained with excellent food given a snack-bar convenience type of setup. I will most likely sob for weeks if this Bowling Center ever closes. It has provided me with many wonderful memories over the last 42 years since my first visit.

Sadly it's the closest place for us to go bowling... fine for kids and first timers. Definitely needs a facelift given their prices are in line with expensive activities in a trendier setting. Service is good... food and drinks were good. I like that you can personalize whether you want the gutters or not by bowler. Would go more often if it had less of a sticky floor feel to it.

Bel Mateo Bowl is the highlight for spending time with your family. Not only do you spend critical moments laughing with your family but you can also enjoy fun experiences with food (and quite a variety of choices may I add). We only got to talk to the employees a couple of times but every interaction was nice. Especially the cook, they worked very rapid serving good quality whilst having a great attitude. Everything went well, and my family had greats laughs! Personally, we went there for a birthday party and the birthday boy was very pleased! Our laughs prolonged even after our session at 'Bel Mateo Bowls' ended. Great atmosphere and establishment!

Classic bowling alley food - pizza, mozzarella sticks, zucchini sticks, etc. Had some issues with our lane that were resolved fairly quick. Bartender was very easy-going!

Wonderful time bowling at Bel Mateo Bowl tonight. Great music and fun night lights. Super clean and modern facility. Food is decent. This is our favorite bowling alley.

Went here with kiddos. Went in and realize that I was here years ago for a corporate event. This place has been around for a long time. Staff are all very friendly. Facility has been used but kept clean. None of us played bowling often. We were here for some fun. Kiddos had a good time. There are some silly games available here for little ones creating different avatars by each score. It was super fun. We had a blast. We ordered some large lemonades, pretzel, French Fries, tater tots, and chicken wings. Food was actually decent. Kids enjoyed them. We all had a good time. We will come back later for some more silly games. :)

The three of us went there during the weekday at about 3:00 and many lanes were available. Ambiance was chill and clean. Only thing was the grill does not open till 5:00, but they allowed us to bring in food and Round Table is just two stores down.

It was our first time bowling at Bel Mateo. We went there for my husband's birthday. The service was excellent, friendly staff & clean rental shoes. We bowled 2 games. The atmosphere was old school bowling. Unfortunately, we didn't realized the bistro hours so we couldn't order any food but we were allowed to bring outside food from nearby Round Table Pizza. Overall we had a great time and we'll be back again to bowl.

Planning another of our twins' birthday party there on 10/21/2023. We've done it over there probably 4 times for their birthday and it is always great. The vibe is pleasant and it is more down to earth than other bowling alley. We've tried PinStriped and our boys still prefer Belmateo Bowl. Looking forward to another fun afternoon.

Reserved an hour long slot to play at 930 pm on a Friday with a few of my buddies. It was packed and buzzing with folks having a great time. The music that night was a throwback to the dance hits from the late 00s/early 10s, which somehow helped us get in the zone. Ambience overall definitely had a cosmic feel, which we certainly appreciated. We'd come already having had dinner, but we did enjoy a few beers and they seemed to have a good overall selection. Finally, while there is the $10 extra reservation fee (and that isn't insignificant), it was obviously nice not to have to wait could and probably would have been a long one on a Friday. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come back.... Though might try to walk in during non-primetime hours.

Not just the best run bowling alley in the Bay Area but possibly the most complete business as well. Friendly attentive staff, state of the art lanes and scoring, great game room and even the bathrooms are spotless.

Hosted our company's holiday party here and it was a blast! Service was fantastic, Savannah was very helpful and friendly. 10/10 would recommend

What I realized is that one of the things that I miss from being in a pandemic was bowling. I told my guy bestie about how I miss bowling, and it's not like I would go bowling often in the past. It was like once or twice a year type of outing; like for a special occasion. So I decided to go bowling with my two guy friends at Bel Mateo Bowl one Sunday night because I saw that they have a Sunday special which includes pizza and a pitcher of soda which was awesome. But unfortunately, you have to reserve ahead of time so they ran out of pizza. The guy at the desk said that they could give me more soda instead in place of the pizza, but that's not good enough. So we opted to do just an hour of bowling instead and split 3 ways which was okay. They have in place plexi glass dividers between each bowling areas to provide more safety precautions which was really good. We didn't try their bar area so can't review the food/drinks. (We ended up getting In-n-Out afterwards lol) A couple times our pins were not cycled correctly, but I understand that's just some technical difficulties. It's a good bowling alley with plenty of parking spaces in their lot plus on the streets as well.

weekend morning visit and finding bel mateo bowl completely packed...almost all lanes already reserved, but finding a 30 minute slot to play...all prices includes bowling shoe rentals....prices are quite reasonable at $30/hr 10am to 12pm, $50/hr 12pm to 5pm and $80/hr 5pm to 1am on weekends for up to 6 bowlers...weekdays are mostly $40/hr...friday pricing starts at $40/hr and jumps to $80/hr from 5pm to 1am...all up to 6 bowlers with shoes included....scoring system and screens are all modern...automatic bumpers individualized for each player (children)...ball rolling ramps for little ones...arcade to pass time after...bunch of toy vending machines...a full bar and pizza/food if needed...a good bowling place in the peninsula...just make reservations in advance...

Came here with the family and had a great time. They updated the space, it's more technologically advanced now with more screens, lights and music. Many bowling lines. All would be good if this place was not so expensive, $90 per line, plus $10 booking fee. $100 for 1 hour of bowling is steep.

Very friendly staff and reasonable pricing. The food was very good, actually they could have the kitchen to function as a separate business, since the quality of their pizza beats many commercials pizza places. Great place to organize a team event for your company.

We just finished our 11 year old's birthday party here and all of the boys had a blast! I've thrown 11 of these kids birthday parties now, and Bel Mateo Bowl's process is about as easy as it gets. Signing up was pretty seamless, and on the day of, Max, our coordinator, took care of everything. The pizza came out right on time, he helped with the set-up and clean-up, he even brought a candle and lighter when it was time to do cake. He kept moving the party along at a good pace. When the bill came, nothing was a surprise, it was all explained to me when I signed up. The day literally had no hiccups. I love throwing parties at places like Bel Mateo, who go through so many events on the weekend, they just have the routine down. I found everyone friendly and helpful. Thank you making our 11th birthday so memorable!

BelMateo Bowl is ideal for parties, events or leagues. Great food selection, cozy lounge with a full bar to quench your adult thirst, two modern dart boards, arcade room, pool table and tons of lanes to bowl on. Clean and well-kept. Courteous staff.

This is a great place for families to spend an afternoon. Enjoyed a fun afternoon of bowling here with my family. The lanes are well-maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable and the staff was helpful in getting us set up on the lanes.

We came to Bel Mateo last Saturday afternoon! My mother in law had recommended Bel Mateo as we were hoping to do a cousin gathering! I spoke to Mike when booking and it was so easy and efficient! Right off the El Camino, Bel Mateo is super easy to find and has a parking lot right in front. Checking in was super easy and to lady working up front was so helpful and friendly! We got our shoes and was so happy to see they had shoes small enough for my 2.5 year old, he was so excited to bowl for the first time! We had 4 lanes and the system was user friendly, you could even take your own profile pictures lol. Adding and taking out people was super easy and the system was fast! There were a few of us that didn't play and I loved that there was a seating area directly behind our lanes so everyone can really enjoy and be apart off the group. We ordered food and beer and it was delicious and really affordable! Everyone was extremely excited about the dole whip and the dippin dots! Overall we loved our experience and the service from the workers! Everyone was so friendly and extremely helpful when needed from check in to food ordering! We can't wait to go back!

I met a women in the bistro named dayna about 2 months ago she cooked me the best burger n quesadillas ever now me and my family and i go there once a week to get food to go the staff is friendly and the place is clean highly recommend the bistro.

Attended a kid's birthday party over the weekend. I thought it was fun, unique and well organized. I would consider hosting my kid's birthday party here in the future based on this experience. Or we might just come for a family outting during school breaks as something different to do. The kids got to bowl for the first hour. I would say that there could be better signage or indication that the lanes are for kids birthday party. Maybe reserve an empty lane in between if space allows. Our party (with a group of mostly 6 year olds) was place next to some serious bowling leaguers and I noticed shortly after we started they asked to be moved. I didn't blame them as kids were wondering into their territory. After the bowling portion, we went to a party area. The room was large, private and comfortable with plenty of seating and it's own bathroom. Pizza, soft drinks and cake was served. The pizza was actually pretty good. No outside food allowed except for the birthday cake. The guest of honor got a cool bowling pin as a souvenir to remember their special day. Friends got to sign the pin. What a great idea!

We are so lucky to have bowling in Belmont. Belmateo Bowl is a classic spot that is nice, fun, and convenient.

We just left Bel Mateo after renting two lanes for an 80s theme party for my husband's birthday. Everything about this place was "good vibes"-- friendly service from the front desk, bistro, bar, and staff folks. The pizza was so good. When they turned on the "cosmic" bowling the ambience was gorgeous. The guy at the front desk who gave us the party button and played 80s tunes without being asked was so thoughtful and awesome. Love this place. Thank you for a great time!!

Fun place to bowl at, and they have an area with arcade games and pool! I made a lane reservation ahead of time for 1hr on Halloween Monday night for 2 people at 9PM day of (about 3hr in advance) - it was surprisingly not super busy when we arrived, so I wish the website would've let us reserve earlier in the night because the kitchen was closed when we got there. Still had a great time there and will come back soon! Easy to park in the parking lot outside.

It's a cute little bowling place , I think we went on a Friday and the music was good and music was good . Staff was super friendly , we actully had a lane stop working and the manager on duty gave me a couple cards for free games that I haven't used . The place is clean and I recommend it ! The bar they have is cute I wasn't sure if they had food or not but it's definitely a fun place to go and bowl :)

Great old-school vibe. Leagues here are a blast, a variety of experience levels, no judgment, and people with great attitudes. Jay is incredibly friendly and informative, Jeanine's welcoming and brings your drinks out quickly, Raymond from the Pro Shop is knowledgeable and can provide some great tips, and the kitchen has excellent timing with the fryer.

Celebrated kids birthday here. We were too late for a package but reserved lanes - it was the best. Everyone is so friendly and helpful , we plan to make this an annual tradition.

Good local bowling alley with bar and bistro! Reserve ahead online (+$10) and get there on time or you may not get a lane during peak hours. I think they have the fastest turnaround for pins of any alley I've been to in the area so it's pretty fun and moves fast!

Pretty solid bowling spot. The place is pretty well maintained, as many others in the Bay area can look pretty run down. I came here for the Sunday bowling special (~20 bucks for an hour). This is one of the better deals in the Bay for bowling, and because of that, the place gets really packed during this morning special time. If you are looking to take advantage of these deals, come early or book your lane early online (I believe there is a 10 buck fee on top of your rental). Overall a solid spot to bowl, would come back again.
