Bell Market Food Hall Opens in New Jersey From NYC Chefs | Eater NY

"A food hall from a team with NYC credentials (including Union Square Cafe and Upland) has opened in Holmdel’s Bell Works complex, taking over about 6,000 square feet and rolling out in stages over the past couple months; all five concepts — a Japanese restaurant, a customizable grain-bowl spot, an NY-style deli, a bakery, and a wood-fired pizza restaurant — are now open and the hall is accessible to the public despite Bell Works also containing residences and private offices. Operated by a single company (RBC Hospitality Group), it avoids the redundancy common to many food halls while otherwise following the familiar food-hall formula (sushi, pizza, sandwiches, pastries, grain bowls). Bell Works is a revamped historical research facility, and the market is currently open Monday–Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m." - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya

Google
We had a wonderful private party at Bar Bella catered by Bell Market. Jillian and her staff were great to work with and were able to tailor the menu to our needs. The food was delicious! Would highly recommend them for your catering needs.

Google
Amazing service, delicious food and great atmosphere, what more could you ask for? The kale caesar, caprese salad, rigatoni, prawns and pizza were mouth watering good and overall, very fresh. 10/10 - try this place ASAP! #supportlocal

Atmosphere was chill. The bowl was hearty and good, but 20 bucks for the bowl was a lot.

Google
One star for the quality of food and service at Jozu. Paid $12 for a sad portion of the salmon poke bowl. I orginally ordered it with white rice, had to opt for lettuce since they didn't want to make more white rice. The ponzu dressing was too bitter. Overall not good!Maybe their other food options are better. Save your money!

Google
Bell market is an amazing place. The whole environment is awesome, it's such a bright modern place! The food is also amazing and wildly diverse! If you work in the building or are just in the area it is definitely a spot not to miss!!

Google
I recently used Bell Market as the caterer for an all day event within BellWorks. We had breakfast, lunch, breaks, beverage stations, and cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres (stationary and passed) provided by Bell Market. Everything (and I mean everything) was fabulous! The portions were generous, the meals were fresh and delicious, there was extreme care with allergies and dietary restrictions, the staff (especially Jill) was attentive and I couldn't have asked for better service. All in all, I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for the excellent service, Bell Market!

Google
It's a good experience. You can walk around in many different areas indoors or out and get your steps in, perhaps exhibit the arts, or grab a bite with good food options. There's even gyms and a basketball court. And pingpong tables. But you'd have to bring your own paddles and balls for that as well as your own basketball if you want to ball and soccer ball if you want to kick the ball around on their turf. As well as an event center you can rent out for business parties birthdays or weddings. I will be returning for sure.

Google
Lovely, lovely place and good food. The owners are delightful, and have created such a great safe space to venture out and eat with curbside pickup as well as well-spaced outdoor seating at Bellworks. They bring everything out for you, and are super friendly and more than happy to help in any way. Doing good for the neighborhood, serving food to essential workers and hospitals in the area, while also offering produce boxes to anyone locally who can't get out to the store.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of visiting @BellWorks in Holmdel, NJ. It's the former Bell Labs. The building & grounds were converted to a multi use space that features restaurants, large indoor spaces to walk, or play. One area is carpeted in green, and many families sit and relax. The vast amount of glass & windows brings the indoor light in. Thanks to a friend, I discovered this spot. We met for lunch & brought our grandkids! While we were there we ordered food from the Bell Matket. The food we had were croissants and tea/ coffee for breakfast, and it was freshly prepared & tasty. Later on we had lunch at an Italian restaurant ( name evades me, at this time) Bit it was also a great lunch & served with a smile.

Yelp
Bell Works itself is great but the Bell Market, not so much. Their hours are poor and not very good for business! Only Corbo Pizza is open in the evenings and the others are not. Not a great food selection in the market either. Better off going to the individual restaurants throughout Bell Works.

Yelp
I had Jozu? in the bakery section today and was underwhelmed. The minuscule cup of chicken noodle soup was flavorless and paired with the greasiest sliver focaccia bread - all for $10! For that price I expected a bowl - lesson learned.

Yelp
Bell Market is made up of a breakfast / cake / coffee shop, a pizzeria, a sandwich shop, a salad shop and a Japanese shop all in one location. - I have yet to try the pizza or sandwich shop - the bakery section appears to have wonderful looking cakes, pastries and donuts, very appealing to the eye. I'm a NY'er so my next comment may shock some BUT, they have one of the best bagels I've ever eaten. A bacon egg and cheese sandwich on one of their big, fluffy bagels is just what the dr ordered. Dark roast coffee tastes like a Sumatra although I'm not 100%, it's delicious in any event. - I've tried the salad shop a few times and it's always been good. They have rice bowls, salad bowls, quinoa bowls all of which can be topped with standard salad toppings, different proteins (the salmon is really good), different nuts and even pickled veggies. I've tried several of the bowls and have enjoyed them all. - today I tried ramen from the Japanese shop. I was a little cold and wanted some soup. I had a nice slightly spicy ramen with 1/2 egg, pork belly, pickled mushrooms and noodles. Oh yeah, all good stuff (see pic) All in I am glad I work in the same building as Bell Market, prices are on the high side but u can't put a price on convenience.

Yelp
Tons of food options and I've tried a few in the food court. I had the margherita pizza in the cort and sons section and it came out relatively fast. Not as crisp as I would have liked it but the service was great and she brought us out condiments even though we were sitting away from the restaurant section. The coffee/bakery place though, was a little disappointing. The coffee was a bit sour and I didn't even want to try the pastries because there flies everywhere

Yelp
Bell works loos like something from Back to the Future. Broad fork is a not so quick service located inside. It takes forever to get the food. I don't know if they are short staffed but needs to be quicker. The chicken grain bowl was good though. I would come back but cant be in a rush.

Yelp
The pizza was out of this word....like how they have a good Italian man making it....service was great..... Ella....Greg and Marley made my trip their great

Yelp
I had Jozu at Bell Market for lunch today and it was delicious! My coworkers have been raving about the teriyaki bowls and the hype certainly peaked my interest. I very happy to say that the hype was spot on and I was not disappointed. I got the beef teriyaki bowl and it was SO GOOD. See picture below. The bowl comes with sticky rice, onions, carrots, broccoli and your choice of meat. The beef was super tender and doused with teriyaki sauce. I highly recommend trying it!

Yelp
This place does not make sense everything here operates on odd hours inconsistent with the real world I don't get it? And food wise? Not great.

Yelp
Carbo & Sons is impressive. Very professional, friendly and overall interested in making good, delicious food. The photos speak for itself! #supportlocal

Yelp
This food is wonderful! If you work in the building or can make the trip out I can't recommend the ramen at Jozu enough. I've found that ramen places in the area can't quite get the flavor balance right: too greasy, too salty, etc. Jozu balances the flavors perfectly amongst their different broths and if you add the pork belly it is cooked cooked beautifully. I've found that the price for the ramen is also competitive with other ramen places in this area, too.

Yelp
Had the teriyaki rice bowl and it was really yummy! My husband had the curry noodles which looked amazing and he really enjoyed. They have sake & ice teas too. Beautiful modern space. The server/cashier/owner was very attentive and welcoming. There are many other food options in the same area, so if you're feeling pizza, sandwich, cafe ... you can try out other dishes. It's Obvious they have put a lot of expense to getting this place very stylish and chic. Also be sure to check out the Monmouth/ holmdel library close by... it's so nice.

Yelp
Great place to pick up a fast meal in the Bell Work complex. They have fresh, filling and tasty options from salads to grain bowls.

Yelp
This is a great market. I love the options I get between kombucha, gluten free treats, fresh cheeses, clothes!

Yelp
Working at Bell Works I make my way down to the market about once a week, I have yet to be disappointed. If you're looking for something quick definitely swing by Bubz Deli and treat yourself to a sandwich; any sandwich. Their bread is fantastic, I truly believe you could throw any combo on it and have a winner. If you need something to warm you up make sure to check out the ramen being served in the back it is damnnnnn good.

Yelp
This place is super unique. The food is good. My only set back is that the hours are not that great.

Nora L.

Yelp
My boyfriend & I went to the Bubz Deli in Bell Market. We each ordered the chicken Caesar wrap. When we sat down to eat - it was obvious that the chicken was totally raw.... pink, translucent, slimey. We went back to the deli to show the staff member the raw chicken and he immediately dismissed our concern without even looking. He responded, "It's cooked." I asked, "Is this pre-cooked chicken?" He said, "No, it's fresh chicken we boil it." He didn't even look at the chicken & just sent us on our way. Didn't offer to get us something else, didn't offer a refund, nothing. My boyfriend and I didn't eat it obviously - but, are so bummed we wasted $20 on a lunch that we couldn't even eat and got terrible customer service. Avoid this place! Check out the photo proof.

Yelp
Jozu at Bell Market, I had the spicy miso ramen. It doesn't compare or resemble ramen in NYC, which is much much better. The bowl had the broth, noodles, two large mushroom and half an egg. The noodles were under cooked, the egg was over cooked and the broth was just above warm. I ordered the chicken thigh skewers with it and good thing because the ramen came with no meat.

Yelp
Very impressive...the former Bell Labs...an enormous building repurposed into offices, restaurants, businesses and huge open spaces (indoor and out)...lots of parking...and a farmer's market on Wednesdays...a variety of products...we chose to eat at Corbo and Sons...enjoyed the wood-fired pizza...dessert consisted of an oatmeal, pecan and cranberry cookie and crumb cake with berries at the bakery next door...a fun experience!

Yelp
Jozu!!!! Robatayaki bowl is incredible. The pizza is also excellent. The salad place is pretty good but could use a bit more selections to add on.

Robert J.

Yelp
Jozu at bell market. Had the miso which had tasty broth but very small portion for the $17 price. Unfortunate, love ramen and not a local option. Still gotta drive for it.

Yelp
Great addition to Bell Works! All the food is fresh and I haven't tried something i'm not a fan of. I especially love their Japanese station with fresh poke and some of the best Ramen in the area.

Pat I.

Yelp
Very disappointed in Corbo and Sons. When they first opened the pizza was excellent. I just had a Margherita and it was completely covered in oregano and WAY over salted (FYI, a Margherita should not have ANY oregano...see the pic on your own website). Could not taste the tomatoes under the barrage of salt and oregano. I only gave it two stars because the dough is still good. Why go to the trouble of installing legit wood fired ovens and then make a pizza that is seasoned like dollar-a-slice crap that the tourists in Times Square buy? Bummer.

David R.

Yelp
Bubz Deli is ridiculous!!! Food is NOT very good and prices are outrageous!!! $14 for a simple reuben sandwich. Yikes, hope it has gold leaf between the pastrami. Had a turkey and swiss hoagie last week for $7.50. On about a 10" roll there was literally 2-3 pieces of turkey and maybe 2 pieces of cheese and a couple of dabs of honey mustard. Nothing special and definitely not worth $7.50!! Avoid this place and hit the Cracked Olive if you want decent food at a moderate price.

Teresa A.

Yelp
My family and I have ordered several times from Bell Market in the last month. The website is super easy to use. We've had their chicken breasts, ribeyes and NY strips, all of which were delicious. I've recommended them to friends and coworkers and I'll be ordering again soon. Thanks for the great dinners, Bell Market! Keep up the good work!

Matt J.

Yelp
If you want to eat here hope you are ready to drop an entire pay check for a sub par sandwich. When they were just the Pop Up deli it was amazing now that they moved to the food court the food prices jumped up and the quality / quantity of what you get is horrible. On top of the staff at the bubz deli is so slow takes 15 minutes to get a sandwich (no one was in line besides me). Its really a shame because I was really excited for them to open the food court now I would rather leave the campus to get food. Honestly think the two 5 star reviews are fake, both reviews say the same thing.

Yelp
Have experimentally eaten at each food station (several times) as I work here. The owners need to understand that the bulk of the office workers bring their own lunch but rarely, if ever eat at the Market. Here is why. The food is good and fresh, but WAY, WAY OVERPRICED. Enjoy your $14 ramen noodles. Yes you get broth, noodles, two mushroom caps and a half a hard boiled egg and some pork or shrimp. The saki will run you about $10 bucks if you decide to drink with lunch and goof off the rest of the afternoon. Enjoy your $3.00 doughnut at Honeybell Bakeryand the 1/2 salmon or avocado sandwich for $7. At Bubz, your tunafish is just $7.50 - but lettuce and tomato were extra and he looked at me strangely for asking for it. Forget about getting rye bread, whole wheat or white bread - you get the 'dutch bread' only. The salads at Broadfork are heavy on kale, cabbage, brown rice, quinoa and if you add a topping again, you're nicely above the $10 mark. Pizza Palace: The 'artisan' pizza is okay but why is the crust so soft and overloaded with oregano? And no option for things like fried mozzarella sticks or a cheeseburger. They serve wine but no one is drinking. The food court is not exactly heavily packed most times of day, with the noodle place and the salad bar having few crowds. Not sure if they will survive. The owner of Bell Works is dreamily counting on 'building retail' but seems to have forgotten the old Bell Labs building is far from any known road, the parking lot is a cold, WINDY, long-walk pain in the rear and the building is 1/4 mile in length. It's a long march in the middle of nowhere for those $14 noodles and tunafish.

Jan S.

Yelp
You can't go wrong at Bell Market! All the sandwiches at Bubz are delicious. I just tried the quiche at Honeybell; so very light yet so very creamy and the focaccia is mouth watering. I've been a lunch steady.
