Bella Bru Cafe

BUG in my food, spoiled salad dressing (runny and foul smell), bad soft drink. Came here today (6/13/25). Thought the big leg was pepper at first. Nope! 60% done, the body, burrows deep in my salad, appeared through the leaves at the bottom. See photos. At here a year ago and had a bad experience. The meat was old and discolored. Tried today because I figured they just had an off day. I hadn’t eaten all day so I was too hungry to wait to get home to cook. I figured what can go wrong with a salad. Many of my friends have had bad orders as well, from the steak, to the burgers etc. I got my money back. The manager did say she’d alert the kitchen but since it’s been multiple cases, I doubt that’ll help anything. Will Never return. I’m now home downing some pedto-bismal feeling nauseous.

We stay right here in Natomas for years and we just now tried this place and it was a pleasantly pleasing experience and definitely worth coming back again and again 😍 it was a 15 to 20 minute wait but it seemed shorter than that. We opted to eat outside on this beautiful Saturday and that’s where they seated us. Had orange juice and daughter had cranberry juice . I ordered a spinach omelette with a side of chicken sausage and daughter had their huevos rancheros. The food was Amazing and our waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable on what the favs were! What a way to start off our weekend! Thank you Bella Bru!

I'm visiting from out of town and I've already been here twice! The food was fantastic and the service was excellent! I had the spinach mushroom omelet and everything was so fresh. I highly recommend the sourdough toast.... the best I've ever had! Oh, and the mango iced tea...delicious! I really enjoyed sitting out on their patio, too.

~~UPDATE 2025 (2 stars)~~ My wife and I went back for Valentines Day dinner and we were both very disappointed. For one, the featured special on the website “Grilled Salmon & Prawns – with sundried tomato butter sauce, crispy cheddar polenta, grilled zucchini & blackberry jalapeño glaze”, was not on the menu. Second, my wife wanted the Cannelloni and the wait let us know they might be out and if she wanted something else. She opted for Eggplant Parm as backup. I ordered the Ribeye special. The problem was they were out of both specials and the kitchen went ahead and cooked my steak before the waiter came back to take my wifes order, again. That’s restaurant 101; having all dishes come out at once. The girl who brought out my steak was like we can just keep it warm. I’m like ok but I ordered medium-rare. They should have just re-fired it. Wife eventually settled on Fettuccine Alfredo which meant my steak was just sitting for another 10+ minutes in the kitchen. Worse off the Alfredo was bland and watery and full of garlic. No bacon was to be seen. My steak was just ok; half the steak was fat though. Fingerling potatoes were bland. Asparagus was cooked nicely though. The wait staff also seemed overwhelmed as service was very slow. We didn’t get water for the last 20 min while the staff were all figuring out some POS check issues. We were given a discount though for the inconvenience which I appreciated, and comped a slice of pie. The beer, wine and pies were a saving grace. Lowering my overall rating to 3 stars as a result. ~~ORIGINAL 2024 (4/5 stars)~~ I really enjoy going to Bella Bru. Whether it’s with my wife or with my folks, we always have a great experience. The service is always on point and the food is exceptional (usually; see below). Last visit I got a Burger w/ bacon and Sweet Potato Fries and the wife got a Roasted Chicken Salad. The burger was seasoned well and correctly cooked to order. The bacon was crispy and the sweet potato fries are so bomb!! The chicken salad is really good too, and my wife loves salads so she is always content. On our last visit we also got chicken wings and they were very mid; they weren’t crispy and were covered in buffalo sauce instead of tossed with it. Definitely a swing and miss there, but that’s the first time I’ve had something I didn’t like. Other pluses are their complimentary bread! Omg it’s so good. I could just eat that and drink beer and be happy. Speaking of, they have a nice beer selection. For their desserts, they have some amazing cakes and pies. The pecan pie is soooo good! The atmosphere is chill and relaxed. They have a bar setup and so some great brunches too. All in all, Bella Bru hits all the notes. Love this spot.

This was the second time coming here. I appreciated the bar tender coming to seat us when he noticed no one was at the front. Unfortunately, our waiter seemed a bit too busy. Everything took a while with him. The food was pretty good. We had the salmon BLT and chicken and beet salad. The chicken portion was big, but it was super dry. The best were the shrimp tacos. Very flavorful, indeed. This trip we were a little less impressed than the first time.

This was my 3rd visit to the restaurant, and I really love the food and the service. They have outdoor seating if you want to dine outside, as well as cozy indoor searing. The ambiance gives upscale Black Bear Diner vibes. The customer service is kind and attentive. We were seated promptly, our orders were taken, and our food was hot and freshly prepared. I had my 3 young adults with me, and two ordered the blackened salmon sandwich. One ordered the crab cake sandwich, and I ordered the salmon blt sandwich. DELICIOUS!!!! I have had both the salmon sandwich and the salad before. The crab cake sandwich looked so good, I wished I had given it a try. And the young lady who had it LOVED IT!! The two who had the salads enjoyed them as well. I will say that after my first time coming here, I did a copy cat of the salad at home, so the girls knew what to expect. I brought them here so they could have it straight out of the kitchen where I had gotten the recipe idea. I will be back. There is a crab cake sandwich with my name on it!

Omg first time here and the whole place is so nice !! Even the bathrooms the food is delicious!!! Them literally came out with everything didn’t even have to ask the customer service was amazing !

My first time at the Bru Pub. I read all the reviews, and 5 stars is correct! I had the Bru Pub Burger and it was Big, juicy and delicious. The salads looked great, maybe I will try one next time.

Service is mid , but the food is very delicious , the food is very fresh , nice ambiance . It's just the waitress service seems low on staff and it took about 30 mins to serve me but definitely worth the wait :)

We ordered coffee, happy hour pizza and a meal to share. It was pretty good especially for a quick dinner The place is a bit old and could use a refresh on the booths (a bit dirty) and it was very dark inside. Otherwise the waiters were all very nice and the happy hour pizza which had mushrooms on. It was so good. We had wished we ordered two or even three for only seven dollars. We also ordered the crabcake which was very flavorful a bit small but we shared it. The Matcha latte was pleasantly surprising and the cappuccino was good as well they have lots of cheesecakes and we will try them next time.

The service is fast, good good food Quick breakfast spot and our ice tea never got empty! Chatter amongst the other patrons and tv on in the corner.

Before I get started to sum this up. You are getting diner food. I would probably not recommend. Food: The eggs Benedict's was good however the potatoes were undercooked and no seasoning. Drink: We got two drinks. An Americano that came in the largest cup I've ever seen and a Bru special. The Americano has no flavor and was just a safe to drink. It was better than a Denny's cup of coffee but I would settle with a Starbucks Americano over that any day. The Bru special latte was so sweet and there was no flavor of coffee. Service: The server was great and they were quick a with the food. Ambiance: Seemed like an upscale diner but serves regular diner food.

We are LONG time customers at BB Natomas. Finally getting around to Yelping this place because my husband remarked after eating today's (2/23/25) brunch special chicken mole omelette, "I think that was the best meal I've ever had at Bella Bru." Here's hoping it makes its way onto the permanent menu. I ordered my standard avocado toast which was tasty with arugula, tomatoes, smashed avocado and balsamic. The toast itself was a bit hard however, and I required a steak knife the cut it. Our waitress was patient with our slow table and kept the diet cokes flowing! As always, a bit noisy when crowded, but it's crowded because the food is good!

Had a nice lunch here with friends. Busy cafe with pleasant atmosphere.Ordered the Cobb salad & a tasty Margarita pizza accompanied by a little red wine Great bread here too Sat at the bar & had friendly attentive service. Have never eaten here before....Just purchased breads. This is a good casual option for dining. Outside dining also available. Would definitely recommend. There are a few Bella Bru Cafes in the Sacramento area.

My colleagues and I enjoyed lunch here today. We appreciated the outdoor seating options and the excellent customer service. Our food was delicious so we have no major complaints. One colleague shared that the key lime pie wasn't tangy enough but it's all relat

First time here 2/22/25 at 1:30 pm (Our whole visit took 35 minutes) Relaxing atmosphere servers are on-top of keeping glasses full of water and what not Greeted immediately and sat down fast Patio dog friendly they gave us a bowl for our dog to drink water Food came out so quickly nothing cold everything tasted AMAZING! Definitely impressed my boyfriend and I we will definitely be coming back if I could give more than 5 stars i would!! The desserts were amazing i had to add them into the review cause I wrote this review while waiting for them both were moist and delicious and a refreshing way to end our brunch date today

Came to this spot for a nice brunch with family. It wasn't too hot so we sat outside. We came around 10-11am on a Saturday! We were sat down fast with no reservations. Small to big party friendly seating Now for the food! Chilaquiles rojos 10/10: amazing! I don't know how they made them taste so authentic! But it tasted exactly how I am used to. It definitely tasted home cooked with the real chilies blended in the sauce! I was throughly amazed and will be visiting again! Breakfast burrito 10/10: amazing filling breakfast burrito! Had everything you would want in a breakfast burrito. Added double meat to the burrito Overall a great brunch spot with friends or family! Will be visiting again

Had dinner here on a Monday night. Thought it would be crowded with football on but it was not. We ate inside close to the bar so we could watch the game. Service was great! Server was super attentive and engaging. We had two of the dinner specials tonight. Always like to try the new and seasonal items on the menu. We had the chicken Marsala which was really full of good flavor. Also had the tri-tip and enchilada special which had a little kick but not too much. It had a great smoky flavor. I had one of the special drinks on the menu - Hye Fashion that was great. I love Bella Bru for the great food and drinks but the dessert is always a win! The carrot cake is my favorite of all time. Tonight we had the banana cream pie which I have had before. I think they may have changed the recipe a bit so it was not as great as before but it was still ok. This is one of my favorite local places to grab brunch, lunch, dinner, drinks or dessert.

Picked up my daughter from airport and decided to eat here. It has been years since I have been here however I recall having a fond memory of the food. Ambiance Big fancy place. Nice bar with televisions would be nice to see a game. Service Busboy brought cold water immediately. Waitress was very polite and attentive. Rate 5 Food Sicilian Pizza Pepperoni, Italian sausage and salami. Very tasty, crust had a nice toast. Rate 5 Cobb Salad This is a big salad. Applewood bacon, smoked turkey and produce fresh. Too much dressing but I take responsibility for that. I normally ask for light dressing or on the side. The dressing had a hint of sweet flavor, really good. Rate 5 When the check came there was a strange tax for coffee/pastries for about $1.60. Waitress said it was a mistake and removed it. I have a pet peeve for these little fees at restaurants. Even though I did not incur this tax, it is not right to charge it. This was on top of the regular tax. so I am taking a star away for that.

Bella Bru Cafe is a cute busy cafe with yummy food. The service ambiance and food was all very good. My boyfriend loves this place so it was a must stop for our California trip. Thank you for exceeding our expectations with a short wait and quick service (:

Natomas classic. Wishing there was a wider variety of items on the menu. All this for lunch seemed to be the same but just with one different thing changed on each variation. Calm nice environment. Had to beg the waiter for an extra water. Didn't seem like a huge request. Other than that the food was fresh and made to perfection.

I came to Sac to visit a friend. We wanted to get brunch on Sunday morning. As soon as we approached the door, there was a sign that said they were closing early because it's Super Bowl Sunday. Can you tell I don't watch football? Lol Our server was patient, kind, and attentive. The restaurant is located inside a plaza so there is parking, you just have to look for a space. We ordered our food, ate, then realized the restaurant was empty. Lol but the server never kicked us out- she was so patient. We received a to go box and left. The prices were average. It wasn't playing extremely loud music so I was able to have a conversation. The bathroom was clean with stalls for more than one person. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was great, the people were friendly, the food was incredible.

Came here after a Yelp Elite event to wrap up the night and this place did not disappoint. This location offers a chill vibe and happy hour pricing is superb and affordable. Service was top tier both times we came. Our order: HH chicken nachos-nothing to write home about but filling HH fried jalapeños - flavorful HH chicken "slider"- their menu had switched over and the slider was now one semi mini burger which was tasty and filling. When I moved to Natomas, Bella Bru Cafe was the only eatery. Their jumbo chicken wings with sweet and sour sauce were my favorite and I still miss them! Now, Bella Bru Cafe is the go-to spot for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. Their new Avocado Toast is a must-try! Don't miss out on their variety of tasty items. I've come here a few times with my aunts for lunch and I really enjoy this place. The food is good. Service is fast typical lunch crowd very lively. They have a nice patio, but it's been so hot this summer.

I have celiac disease and have enjoyed delicious gluten free brunches here several times. The patio is very enjoyable, weather permitting.

We love Bella Bru Cafe and whenever we are in the area this is our go-to for drinks, food, and St. Patrick's day. We've lived near this location for almost 2 years and we're repeat customers for their St. Patrick's day meal. It's corned beef and cabbage, but it's just so good! We can't wait for next year haha! They do it well and I love the special is really convenient for our commute! So we've been here for drinks and apps and also full dinners. Their patio is nice and spacious on a wide sidewalk which is nice because you aren't that close to the cars in the parking lot or roadway. The patio is also dog-friendly. The staff are always really helpful and always so welcoming. The bathrooms and parking are all good here too. All the food we've had is really good and this is a favorite among my family and extended family too!

After all the recommendations I finally took the dive and dined at Bella Bru with a friend. Joy was our server and like her name, she was an absolute joy. I had my mind set on a particular entree, until I walked past a diner enjoying the Thai steak salad. I asked Joy her opinion and she shared the Thai steak salad was popular and a solid choice. It was absolutely amazing! The dressing, perfectly cooked noodles, bits of mango...I do wish there was more steak but the salad was absolutely perfect...I would order it again.

Been here many times. Great food and service. Lots of variety on the menu outdoor seating when the weather is right. Great breads and deserts as well.

Stopped by here to meet up with family. I was surprised that it wasn't as crowded considering they had plenty of space to accommodate a large crowd. Since the weather was warm, I asked to be seated at their outdoor area. Got a table with no issues. Since I was earlier than everyone I ordered a Prosecco while waiting. They only have one kind of Prosecco. It was good, floral but not too sweet or brut. It comes in the super small bottle and they fill it in your glass. After 5 min a gnat got in my glass. After hunting someone down, the lady hostess immediately apologized and swapped out my glass for another and refilled it. She saw the gnat and knew it was an instant no go for even her. I definitely appreciate that! Bc sometimes people really act like it's the guests fault. When my fam arrived I ordered a caesar salad. It was good. A large portion. Came with shaved parmesan and croutons. I opted out of adding any seafood or meats since I had another place to be shortly after. It was good. Doesn't seem like they make their own dressing but it wasn't bad either. Our guy hostess was super nice and even took a picture of us when we asked. I'd come back here since it was chill and spacious. Parking wasn't too bad considering it's a shared parking lot in a shopping center. Great for a late breakfast or early lunch.

Was lucky to get a last minute reservation to this cute place. The dining room is bright and inviting. Service was quick and friendly. The food was upscale, modern and fresh. Highly recommend.

Food was ok a bit on the pricey side for the burger and fries, staff was nice only real issue was $3 for a fountain soda.

We ordered the banana cream pie for a birthday party. It turned out to be a big disappointment. A banana cream pie without banana or cream and topping. Only fillings tasted nothing like it. And the worst part is that this pie costed $50! With a birthday chocolate banner it nearly costed $60!!!! And plus you have to pay extra $50 for the deposit for the plate it comes with it. With the money I spent I could buy 5 pies from Raley's that taste much better. Bella Bru please either make your banana cream pie with real banana and cream like you used to, or lower the price to match the quality!

I got one of the salads and it was delicious. It came with a cold piece of bread. It would had been nice if it was warmed up. Service was great. I would, definitely, come again.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday. The place was a little crowded and busy. There were still tables available, they seated us right away. They had a small brunch menu, but I ordered a sandwich for lunch. I ordered the tuna melt with fries. My husband ordered the French dip and a cup of soup, clam chowder. The tuna melt tasted ok. I thought it was just a little tiny bit dry. The sandwich did taste good, but it needed a little more mayonnaise or something. The fries were ok, too. They weren't hot and crispy, just warm. My husband's French dip was good. He really liked the sandwich.

I realize that this spot has its neighborhood regulars and defenders. It's like the last Coca Cola in the desert or a mediocre restaurant in the food desert of Natomas. I eat here regularly with friends, but we must stop. Breads taste artificial, breakfasts are unimaginative, and the noise level hurts. The menu needs a refresh. On the positive side, the wait staff is kind and efficient.

Coming back from the airport so we hit this place for lunch. Very crowded but its the weekend and nice out. They were still able to seat us right away. The wife got the tuna melt. She didn't want the capers but already mixed in the tuna. She liked it . I got the clam chowder but it came at the same time or actually after they brought our meal. Still it was jammed packed with stuff so really good. I got the French dip medium rare with Swiss cheese and added mushrooms. It was great. I had them make my fries extra crispy. We had a great time there. Always great food. I was stuffed.

It has been some time since I have been to Bella Bru. The menu had such a variety of things to choose from for both breakfast and lunch. I like that if you want something simple like some eggs & bacon they have it, or if you want something with more pizzaz you can get huevos rancheros. The drink selection was good too and not overwhelming. The place was very busy but our waitress checked in twice for our table. I do think there could be a little more attention to detail, no one came by to refill our water but it was not a big deal. Pleasantly surprised with my experience, will have to come back to try out lunch!

It was an extraordinarily hot day in Sacramento and we were dining with our dog so we had to dine on the patio. Our waiter was great and while the menu offers a variety of dining options, the food was very average. My spinach salad was mostly Spinach with very little cheese or strawberries. My husbands salmon was edible but unexceptional. Our friends ordered a chicken offering that had previously been made with chicken breast but was a smaller thigh portion. The best part was that Bella Bru has no corkage fee for a bottle of wine, which is almost unheard of anymore. Hoping our next dinner is better.

Love this restaurant! I've come here alone, for date night, and with large groups. Each time the customer service and food is great! Their outdoor seating is perfect when the weather is nice. The ambiance is very welcoming.

Casual restaurant open for breakfast to dinner. It is a step or two up from a diner. For one thing it has a full bar. Napkin is still paper but it's large and plush. The food reminds me of Cafe Bernardo. Weekday breakfast menu is not extensive but the place is popular. Both the outside patio and inside are usually quite full which is a good sign.

Great for brunch! Was starving after a flight into town and this was the perfect spot. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Would recommend the eggs benedict

I don't typically crave or order breakfast food, but this place is an exception. Great flavor, great service, and great prices. Most brunch places are in smaller spaces, but this place has a large indoor and outdoor seating area. We were seated within 2 minutes of walking up, on a Sunday too! I was impressed! I ordered the chile chiles- soooo good. Also ordered a mocha iced coffee, 10/10.

My friend knew this place so I decided to meet him here. Originally I wanted salmon salad but I was told that the salmon is not wild-caught so I decided to go with Cobb salad. It looked ok, but not like LA salad but wasn't bad, but I completely forgot to ask for a dressing on the side so there was kind of a heavy white creamy dressing on it, and it did come with turkey meat but my friend thought it was process turkey. My friend got Cobb salad with added shrimp which I should have done... It's not like a super healthy trendy brunch place but it's decent and has a nice big patio seating, has a full bar and pastries, I like the fact that they have Rombauer Chardonnay by glass, so I had to get that with my salad. I will prob go back there...

Good place to enjoy a meal, i had the rib eye steak and it was perfection! Glad i stopped in, found a new fav place.

Bella Bru has been a favorite since 1999 (at their El Dorado Hills location)! Stopped into the Natomas location after getting my nails done and a workout across the street. The steak was cooked medium-rare to perfection. The entire salad was delish and the chimichurri just sealed the deal. All of the other menu items are great, too (coffees, breakfast, desserts). The atmosphere is always upbeat. They play really good music, have games on the TV's and you can bring your dog to dine with you on the patio. The entire staff was super friendly and they checked in with me throughout my stay to be certain that I was enjoying my dining experience. Definitely a kick back & casual place to come when you're in the Sacramento area.

We came around 4:30pm and were seated pretty quickly. We chose indoor seating since it's summer and hot outside. Ordered the New York steak. Delicious along with the mashed potatoes. Bread and butter is served but the bread was dry to me. Would be a lot better if served warm so it'd melt the butter. I'd come back to try their other dishes! The nachos looks good, I saw many people around me eating it.

I've been here plenty of times over the years. I personally like this location over the other one. My fav item is the sangrias and salmon blt. Amazing. Great staff always helpful & knowledgeable. I haven't had a bad time ever each time I've come. Will be back like always. Tip: they have fabulous desserts. Key lime pie is my fav when they have that.

Bella Bru remains special to my Hubby and I. When we first moved to Natomas they use to have live music during the summer evenings. Drinks and good music was always a plus. Their coffees and desserts are delicious. However every now and then Hubby and I enjoy having our Brunch dates. Hands down Bella Bru never fails. I grew up with Huevos Rancheros being served always sunny side up, not a big fan. This is the first place that I've seen that offers delicious Huevos Rancheros with any style eggs. You have my vote for being the best breakfast spot. :) Hubby enjoyed a good Turkey Club Sandwich. I ordered a plain iced coffee and it was exactly what I hoped for on a hot day. Hubby ordered a caramel macchiato it was yummy. Highly recommend if not to enjoy a meal to try their desserts. They do have a heavenly chocolate cake and yummy cheesecakes. Hoping live music returns again. But in the meantime thank you so much to the staff for the music you do have on. Upon walking in you had one of my favorite songs on. Service is very fast we didn't wait not even 15 minutes to be seated and have our drink order taken. Very friendly and I do recommend stopping by.

We selected Bella Bru for lunch for the girls book club after a morning of pampering getting their hair and nails done. One of the girls is vegan so she requested a restaurant with vegan options. This was not too far away and the menu looked good. There were eight of us in the group. We were seated immediately and chose to sit inside instead of outside. Five of us got the impossible burger, one got the bella blue burger, one got a pizza, and a kids burger meal. The food was delicious!! The service was very good.

Prior to the pandemic, I worked close to this establishment and had it bookmarked as a restaurant that I would visit in the near future. Two years into the pandemic and I am still working from home (thank God!), which is not in close proximity to Bella Bru Cafe. Fortunately, my colleagues wanted to meet up for lunch and when they asked if anyone had any suggestions...I blurted out "Bella Bru Cafe!" When we arrived we found a table for five in the outdoor seating area (they have plenty of outdoor seating). Shortly after, an extremely friendly waitress provided us with lunch menus (lunch had just started at 11am), and took our drink orders. After returning with our drinks, she took our meal orders. I was struggling to make a decision between the Bella Bru French Dip and the Grilled Blackened Salmon Salad; thankfully (for my healthy eating lifestyle) the waitress suggested that I opt for the latter. I was thoroughly impressed by the portion size and fresh taste of my salad (not all salads are created equal). Next time I visit I would love to try one of the options on their breakfast menu!

Excellent breakfast! Best cinnamon roll I've ever had! Chicken fried steak and eggs was so good! Nice outdoor seating also. Just visiting Sacramento but will come back here
