We were traveling through from Massachusetts back home to Maine and looking for dining in Brattleboro. We happened across this gem a little out of the way but ! Atmosphere is great (we dined outside) and the food was phenomenal. We were pleasantly surprised as the restaurant and location are unassuming. This was the best meal and experience we had during our trip! Service was excellent and the food arrived quickly! This place deserves all the praise!

Google
Absolutely delicious! Coming from PA, this was the closest to good Italian that I have had in New England! The gnocchi were amazing, and so was the wonderful staff! Owned and operated by family is exactly what I am looking for and we found it here. They are amazing people and have an amazing staff that I got the pleasure to meet! If you are in Vermont you have to go here for some good east coast Italian food! Enjoy!

Google
The food is pretty good and so was the service. I highly recommend getting the bread and also the mozzarella cheesesticks/fried cheese, the marinara sauce was very mellow and not very acidic. I personally enjoyed the veal francaise, it was quite flavorful. Don’t be turned off by the fact that this restaurant is located inside the Brattleboro Country Club, this restaurant is open to the public, and the dress code is very casual, so come on over!

Google
The Italian dishes are very good. We do not recommend the Fish & Chips. It can be noisy inside, but their outdoor seating is very pleasant. Relaxed atmosphere. Reasonable prices.

Google
It is a great restaurant at a golf club just outside of the town. Nice portions at reasonable prices. Get there early on a good day for outside seating with a great Mountain View

The food was excellent. Their past was beautifully done and worthy of the Italian label. Service was very prompt and accommodating. We enjoyed our meal on the terrace overlooking the golf course.

My family and I went for an early dinner. We loved the cozy atmosphere, amazing service, and delicious food. All of the adult meals came with a fresh house salad and some of the most delicious rolls that are served warm and topped with parm.

My boyfriend and I decided to have dinner here after playing golf. The restaurant was very busy when we got in. The bartender let us know it would be a wait but we decided to wait. The wait was much less than we expected. Our server Karen let us know she was also manning the bar and asked for our patience. She was phenomenal. Not once did she make us feel rushed and was very prompt with our orders. And had a great attitude while being extremely busy. The food was out of this world. And we were surprised at how cheap our bill ended up being. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Wasn't sure what to expect from this place when we arrived but oh man it was great. Every dish was delicious. Like lick the sauce delicious. Our server was super friendly we loved her. The outdoor patio is really nice. I will admit a little buggy but nothing they can do about that being bug spray if eating outside or dine inside! This may be top 3 penne a la vodka I've ever had. It has a sweetness to it that I loved! The dinner rolls were great. We will definitely be back if in the area.

Yelp
Ok... what a nice find. While passing through Brattleboro for a couple nights stay we found Bella Notte on Yelp and thought we'd try it out. Sat at the bar and found the woman bartender there to be very accommodating. The food was delicious (had the chicken parm as well as the pours). We also ran into the Owner as well who was very pleasant and gave us some great tips for our stay. I highly recommend you visit Bella!

Yelp
When there's an issue with the establishment, I usually wait a few days to decide if I should write a review. Had the food not have been so good, I wouldn't be writing. We both enjoyed our meals and have agreed that if there hadn't been a billing issue, it would have been one of the better Italian restaurants we've visited in quite a while. When our server asked what dressing we wanted for our (included) salads, in addition to the usual offerings, Caesar dressing was mentioned. However, there was no mention that selecting this dressing would result in an up charge. I contend that any deviation from the listed price on a menu item (salad, bread, entree) should prompt a comment from a server to verify the customer both understands and still wants the item. Same goes with asking for additional bread. (Second fail.) We understand margins are extremely thin in the food service industry, and had we been advised at the time of ordering, I'm reasonably confident we would have still ordered the Caesar, but finding out when being given the final check leaves a unpleasant final impression. When inquiring if we could communicate this to a dining manager, we were informed that the server was indeed the manager. He seemed completely disinterested in discussing our concerns any further.

Yelp
Yummy and not really that expensive. I was actually really surprised at how good the Bolognese was.

Yelp
I am sorry to have to write this review, but it should benefit future patrons. I read a review from one month ago saying that they spent most of their dining time by swatting flies off their food. My wife and I thought it may have been a one time occurrence so, we decided to give it a chance because the last time we were there we had no issues and enjoyed the food. We dined outside and to our dismay, the flies were a problem. Very disappointing! Their food is above average. If there is a next time, we will dine inside. The management knew of the issue but offered no solution.

Sadie C.

Yelp
Disappointing. We arrived and waited for a while to be sat and had to go to the bar to be seated, as there was no hostess at the front of the restaurant. We waited 10 minutes at the bar before being acknowledged to be seated. Once we were seated it took 40 minutes to get any service. Food was a 6/10. There were flies swarming the restaurant. Not a fantastic experience.

Yelp
This Italian restaurant and bar is a hidden gem! Located at the Brattleboro Country Club on the outskirts of town, Bella Notte (open to the public) serves up homemade Italian American cuisine at very fair prices. The restaurant is in an old house which has a spacious dining room and a separate bar/lounge in the adjacent room. The place is open for lunch and dinner, but only open Thursday to Saturday 11am-9pm during the winter off season. The lunch menu offers sandwiches, black angus burgers, wraps, subs, salads, soups, appetizers, pasta dishes, and desserts. Most lunch prices $8.99-$13.99 range. The dinner menu offerings include appetizers, salads, soups, wraps, pasta dishes, Italian entrees (chicken & veal), seafood, and desserts (tiramisu, cakes, cheesecake, ice cream). Pasta & Italian entrees for lunch come with bread & butter and for dinner come with salad and bread & butter. Most dinner prices $10.99 to $26.99 range. I was here recently for lunch when the place wasn't too busy. I sat myself at a table in the main dining room, just outside of the bar in the next room. The bartender also served my table and gave me a menu and made recommendations too. I was given fresh baked knots, lightly and buttery with grated parmesan cheese. I started out with French Onion Soup ($5.99) which was homemade soup served piping hot, which had plenty of onions and croutons in the not salty broth, topped with melted mozzarella cheese, served in a crock. For the entrée, the Penne ala Vodka ($10.99) was a good portion of al dente cooked penne smothered in a hearty vodka sauce with cheese, sundried tomatoes and asparagus. This dish had good flavors, slightly spicy with the added red pepper flakes. I finish my lunch barely, but since I had enough food for lunch, I had to pass up the offer for dessert. Overall, the food was excellent and fresh. The service here was good and the food arrived to my table in good time, hot and fresh. The bartender Karen addresses her customers by name too! I really should return here for dinner in the not so distant future.

Yelp
Went here late one night while my husband and I were in town for our "mini" honeymoon. While located on a golf course, it is open to the public. The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about what was on the menu. She wasn't too overbearing but also checked in enough to make us feel like she cared. Food was delicious and came out pretty quick. I got the gnocchi with a cream sauce, spinach (I think) and something else in it I cant remember. I forget what my husband got but he really enjoyed his food. We got tiramisu for dessert and it was just as good. Overall, if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back.

Yelp
We were traveling mid-week in the area last week and were happy to see that Bella Notte was open. Arrivingat 6:00 PM the place was packed, but we were willing to wait. Unfortunately it was packed with a private party so we had to go elsewhere. No worries, we'd try again on Wednesday. But we ran late in NH and called at 7:30 to see if we could sneak in a take-out order and they no problem. We picked our food up at the bar from an empty restaurant and the staff was very accommodating and cheerful. To their credit, they said they need to be better about announcing when they're closed for private events as it happens often. The food itself was delicious and the portions were large. We'll come back someday and will recommend it to all our friends.

Yelp
My wife and I recently just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary I was looking for a place different from the usual hangouts and shindigs that we would go to. Then a friend told me about Bella Notre... I thought he was crazy at first because I thought the restaurant has been closed for years. Come to find out it was a different restaurant with the same name and same owner as the one we had gotten married in years ago just a different location. Me and my wife went out to dinner on our anniversary and was pleasantly suprised it's by the quaint restaurant and good food. I had ordered spaghetti and meatballs and my wife usually gets something with chicken in it. The food was really good so where the drinks. We will definitely come back again.

Yelp
We were in town for a family reunion and after reading reviews and considering the food requirements of our party we settled on Bella Notte as our restaurant choice. I called to let them know we'd be coming in and our table was ready and set when we arrived. There had been a tournament on the golf course that ended shortly before we got there so several parties were seated in the outdoor area. While the view was beautiful I was glad we sat inside in the dining room. It was simply decorated which allowed the surrounding greenery visible through tall windows to be the focal point. The building is quite old (1850-ish?) with a historical feel (I spotted shaker cabinetry upstairs). The food was delicious. We ordered garlic bread with cheese, shrimp cocktail, chicken piccata, chicken francaise, spaghetti with tomato and pesto, a burger, and chicken parmigiana. For the picky children they made a special order of bread coated with olive oil and spices, and buttered penne. They don't have a kids menu but were completely accommodating when we reasonable requests. The service was so good we even stayed for dessert! We ordered lemon cake, tiramisu, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate mousse. There's a ramp making it handicap accessible. Lots of parking for cars (& golf carts!). Come eat here! You will be happy you did.

Yelp
Karen is fantastic. Red sauce rocks. Bloody Mary... amazing! Shhh no one knows about this place!

Yelp
This restaurant is at the Brattleboro Country Club. We dined after a round of golf. The food was splendid and the service excellent. We both had veal dishes and the soup of the day - mushroom. Dinner includes a really cold fresh salad and a warm roll. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food. We ate early in a not very crowded dining room so for us the ambiance was fine. Can't address if it is noisy when full.

Doug R.

Yelp
Played a round of golf on Sunday afternoon and then stopped in for dinner. My wife and I sat at the bar, but decided to move because it was just too loud. We ordered Jack's burger and the Bella chipotle sandwich. Both were badly in need of seasoning. The fries they came with were fairly good, but again, under seasoned. Service was good but the valve for the dollar just wasn't there.

Yelp
My husband and I are so happy to have found this restaurant! The food is amazing and the view from the back deck is spectacular! It's reasonably priced for the quality of food.

Yelp
I am originally from Brooklyn NY and know good Italian food. Bella Notte was the best Italian food my wife and I have ever eaten. We shared Lasagna and Chicken Sorrento, followed by Tiramisu for dessert. Our waitress Karen was awesome. She was attentive, helpful, efficient and pleasant. It was a delight to be served by her. The restaurant is in the Brattleboro country club with a beautiful view. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Good service. Food was not good. Not seasoned well and not prepared well. I would simplify the menu and get a new chef. The location is beautiful. Restaurant also needs a better wine selection. Definitely has potential.

Yelp
This is such a hidden treasure, food is excellent, waitstaff and host Karen are wonderful people. I would highly recommend!

Yelp
One of our new favorite restaurants in town. Brattleboro doesn't have much to offer in the way of great restaurants so this hidden gem is a great find. Each time we've eaten here the food has been impeccable. The only thing not going for it is the lack of staff so you'll have to wait a while more during your visit. That being said, the staff are hard working and always pleasant and friendly. Hopefully they will have more staff next season. Great atmosphere and people.

Derek C.

Yelp
Outstanding hidden gem restaurant. Service was very attentive and food was even better. Stuffed mushrooms were a great way to start the dinner. Great cocktails/wine list and the entrees were top notch. I got the standard spaghetti and meatballs and it was some of the best I've had. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Lisa C.

Yelp
This restaurant is filled with flies. It was hard to enjoy the food because we were constantly swatting away flies from our table. We killed about 10 of them during our short time there.

Kristen W.

Yelp
We came upon this place coming home from Brattleboro - and let me tell you we found a real gem! We came close to closing and they cheerfully welcomed us to stay. Our waitress Karen was STELLAR! Without having to ask she recommended us the best items on the menu. Stuffed mushrooms and spiedini were delicious apps. The scallops and shrimp penne vodka meal was superb! Definitely recommend and if you are lucky you will get Karen!!!

Yelp
Updating, but keeping my rating at a 3. Food was pretty good. The garlic knots they served before dinner were outstanding. Service was not great and the place was full of loud, drunk golfers. (this IS a country club, after all). Thought it was strange that my wife's sandwich came with a salad but my pasta entree did not. Not a horrible experience by any means, but was strange, like the only other time I've gone here.
