Bella Pita - Review - Westwood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Bella Pita is a UCLA staple and home to something called the Wowshi, which is essentially a Mediterranean calzone. Open super-late every day of the week, Bella Pita is where you go when you aren’t feeling late-night pizza at Lamonica’s and In-N-Out is an absolute zoo. Our move is always the Chicken Wowshi with falafel, and all the hummus we can pump from the condiment bar." - Brant Cox

I first came here 20 years ago and it was my go-to restaurant. Went back tonight and it's just as delicious, affordable, and decadent as ever. Also, the people that work there are so kind and helpful. My go-to is the black bean wowshi and the fried cauliflower Skip the random chain restaurants on the block and get a wowshi

Google
If you haven’t had a wowshi in your life then you haven’t lived. Truly amazing, the fresh pita and fresh veggies would wow your taste buds. A must try in Westwood, never disappoints.

Google
I really liked this place! The prices are reasonable (around $10-13), and the food is fresh. The restaurant staff were also very warm and friendly. We ordered the classic falafel pitas and a falafel bowl; getting to add our own toppings and sauces was a creative idea!

Google
I LOVE Bella Pita. Such an incredible staple of Westwood/UCLA. The food and service are excellent. I love being able to add my own toppings, and the pita is always fresh and delicious. After a long day of studying or going out, Bella Pita is always there for you with quality deliciousness! I hope this place is always around 💗

Google
Bella Pita is right near UCLA. Parking is for a fee and can get pricey. The food is amazing. They have the best pita sandwiches, all made to order and all served warm with fresh pita bread. We Love the kind service and they are fast. You order and pay at the counter and there are a few indoor seats to eat. Many people get it as take away. There is not one thing we don't like there. The prices are fair. Have fun.

I was on my way to In n Out and just wandered in to look around, not really intending on eating here. So glad I changed my mind! Mostly due to the charismatic Celso who works here. He showed me all the fresh offerings for your pita, fresh romaine lettuce, nice tomatoes, hummus, garlic sauce, an assortment of radishes, fresh tsatziki and many more. Even MADE TO ORDER pita bread? What?? Fantastic place to eat GOOD, HEALTHY food with reasonable prices. Whats not to love? Great place, HIGHLY recommend.

Google
Fast and fresh and affordable. I usually get the chicken wowshi (hot and crunchy baked to order pita). They have a toppings and sauce bar where you can load up on your fav combos. More of a grab and go place since there's 3 seats total inside.

Google
I have nothing but good things to say about this place .. I mean, it’s criminal to be in this area of UCLA hospital and NOOOT stop here and get a pita. My favorite is the black bean wowshi with all the fixings and the icing on the cake for this place is all the delicious sauces! If you are in the area, please stop in and try it out!

Yelp
Very fresh food, delicious, MASSIVE portions...but it is on the pricey side. Still, I visit here whenever I'm in Westwood. Hasn't disappointed me yet !

Yelp
Black bean wowshi. You pick toppings and sauces. Absolutely delicious. Everything is fresh and nice and crunchy and tasty.

Yelp
I haven't gone to Bella Pita in a couple years and it was just as good as I remembered it from when I was a student at UCLA!!! I personally love their falafel pitas and always load them up with the sauces and vegetables from the free condiment bar. Only downside of Bella Pita is that it's very small and has only four seats available, so sometimes you won't get a seat. Just to add a tip since parking in Westwood is really expensive, I recommend parking either at Ralphs or Target since they offer 2 hour free parking if you go inside and validate.

Yelp
I went to UCLA about 9 years ago and now drive an hour out occasionally to come eat here! I miss it so much! The owner told me they have been losing business since the pandemic so I thought I'd write a review because it's my fave. The flavors are unreplicable and I really like that it's a healthy but filling meal! Used to always go here over Fat Sal's when I didn't want to feel like trash the next day. Loved that it was open late night too. That really really spicy hot sauce mmm!! I dream about her. I suspect since CAVA opened right behind them on the other street, they have some stiff competition now versus 10 years ago, which makes me sad because I had CAVA just yesterday and was craving Bella Pita way more! Please stay open!! Wishing you the best of business! The black bean wowshi will always have my heart.

Yelp
I've been coming here since 2008/2009, when I attended UCLA and lived down the street. Over a decade later, and I'm still routinely driving down from the valley to get my freshly baked chicken wowshi (topped with veggies, tahini, and the very hot hot sauce). The sauce bar is still perfection and they haven't compromised the quality of anything. The icing on the cake is that the food is halal! Also, the staff here is always friendly. In fact, when I went there this evening, I finally got to meet the owner! I couldn't help but gush about how long I've been coming here. Went to grad school, moved to different places, and have lived a whole life since 2008--but Bella Pita has always been a constant. Obviously, I'll be back soon.

Yelp
Incredible food!! Egyptian wowshis , falafels, etc. fries are super good too. I get the basterma and cheese and load it up with the veggies and white sauce and red sauce ... parking isn't bad can always find something even tho it's the Village. Friendly fast service too. Not too many people know about it i always tell friends tho. Prices good too. Good a/c inside too if eat there

Yelp
I love Bella Pita. It's got one of my favorite falafels in town, in their signature 'wowshi'. Good prices, it's in a very walkable area. Can be tricky to find parking in Westwood, but usually meters are okay if it's not busy a time of day. It's usually open late, smaller storefront, but great food and nice bar there lets you customize the toppings on your wowshi. I come here as often as I can.

Yelp
Great fresh food, pita is made to order, solid portion with fair prices. Fast service. I love to come for the chicken wowshi

Yelp
Took my granddaughter to get a felafel sandwich. Usually it is on a scale from 1 to 5 a 4.5/5. Today it was a 2. The cook wasn't good. The patties were not at all cooked, raw inside, not crisp on the outside.

Yelp
Good food, but absolutely terrible terrible hospitality. Beware of this guy in the picture he makes his own rules to charge money for a box or getting any sauce or salad while eating in or taking it for to go. Certain things they should allow for a better customer experience, provide better packaging for to go, especially for the kind of prices that this place charges. He's extremely rude and just says these are the rules from the boss, which is not true. He makes his own ad hoc rules to charge money. Don't fall for this trap, he will try to embarrass you in front of other customers but stand your ground and not get intimidated by this guy at all. Would request the management or the owner to look into this , other customer have also reported the same in the, on how the staff here is rude and how poorly they provide packaging when trying to take it to go, they make ad hoc rules to charge money. This ad rules is a true true story since some other Manager working on another day does not make or abide by the same rules. Therefore, requesting owner or management to look into this issue and provide customers a better customer service and an environment . Please ensure that the guy in the picture needs to be taught hospitality and strictly refrain from making ad hoc rules to charge extra money to customers based on his will.

Yelp
Found this place walking by after an appointment at UCLA. What a great place. We both had a chicken pita. Homemade pirate bread, chicken was grilled to perfection. The best part is the condiment bar with many sauces, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, etc. So delicious with great service.
google avatar

Yelp
I got the chicken wowshi meal with a side of falafel cones (aka falafel in the shape of a hockey puck). The chicken was juicy, portions were big, and it was affordable. You get your protein with your pita and you add the toppings and sauces you want at the self-serve bar. Ate this while watching Across the Spider-verse and it hit.

Linda O.

Yelp
Had a great time here, food was delicious and the service was even better! My niece loved it as well. Got the chicken pita and it was so good

Yelp
I think I've been here 3 times in the last 5 days? so I feel like that kind of speaks for itself. It's this small spot by in n out- kind of a hole in the wall situation so it's never too crowded. I don't think I can get enough of their falafel wowshi (essentially a pita sandwich). I recommend getting a double wowshi order- you get two sandwiches for just $2.27 more (single wowshi price is $7.08). There's a ton of sauces you can add to the sandwich (and the best part, i think, is you can do it yourself so you get to control how much of whatever it is you want on it). My favorite dressing is probably the white sauce and the garlic sauce. Other toppings include cucumbers, pick de gallo, Tzatziki, etc.

Yelp
Incredible! Fresh! So tasty! I just wish they would turn down the music. It is so loud and the bass of the music makes it intolerable to stay and eat indoors which may be their goal. Otherwise, I had the kofta wowshi and it was 10/10. I will be back.

Yelp
As though possessed, my friend suddenly began visiting Bella pita every day a few weeks ago. So I dragged myself out the door and decided to try it myself. At its core, it's a small pita shop. But for what you get, it's very tasty and not half-assed. The falafel is bomb, and the chicken is freshly cooked and tender (I haven't tried the other fillings). Once you get your pita, you can also fill it with veggies and sauces from the bar. Great place to stop by and pick something up in the afternoon / evening! There isn't really seating indoors unfortunately, but that's pretty much true of all the restaurants on the block.

Yelp
All I can say is OMG!!! The reviews noted below saying this place has them wanting more and more cannot be more true. First time coming here today and the food is just absolutely freakin amazing!! It is Mon today and I know I will be back this week. Placed order online and 12min later when I arrived, it was all packaged and ready for me to pick up and go. Definitely 10/10!!!! MUST try, you will not regret it!! JUST PERFECT BELLA PITA

Yelp
The food is healthy and tastes okay. The owner teaches computer science at UCLA I believe, and his USC location went out of business. They do a lot of catering as well. What ruins this place is the staff. As many mentioned, the staff here exemplify the word rude. They would never be caught dead helping an unhoused person or smiling at BIPOC individuals (ironic as the owner and workers are POC too). I have directly seen them treat people differently based on race/appearance. They literally threatened to call the police on someone who went to the salad bar twice to fill the other half of his wowshi (guy wanted to fill/put toppings in the two halves one at a time while eating there). Some weird rule that you have to get everything you need from the open salad bar at once, before you sit down? The people here have no chill. I think it is best to stick to them for to-go orders or catering. The minimal seating is like for 3-4 at the counter facing the outside window. This remaining location also always seems to be hiring...

Yelp
Hidden gem in between In & Out burger and Fat Sal's. April 10, 2022 Wanted a healthy meal so decided to falafel but "Falafal" the restaurant was closed due to major holiday. So ended up going around the corner to Bella Pita. The 2 half pitas was filled with only 2 falafels...you have to fill them up with lettuce, onions, etc The falafal was soft and warm, tasty too Bread was nicely toasted Great meal under $10, bad thing: it's a one man operation, so be patient

Yelp
The wooshis are great but there is zero parking nearby and they don't take phone orders. Would be great and I'd go way more often if there was parking or curbside delivery.
google avatar

Natalie Z.

Yelp
The food from here is always an inexpensive, relatively healthy, and solid. An ol' reliable. I would recommend picking up and eating it on the spot as it gets a little bit steamy during delivery. The kitchen staff does a great job at packaging the vegetables so they stay fresh. The falafel wowshi is excellent and they have a very spicy herb sauce (I don't remember the name) with a lot of heat and flavor. Their pita is also the best; I think it's made in-house and puts the generic store-bought bread from Zankou to shame.
google avatar

Miranda L.

Yelp
I do like the freshness of the dough. I had a chicken wowshi. The chicken was nice and seasoned and taste really good. I especially recommend you getting the garlic sauce. It's delicious. I also got the yogurt dip, pico de gallo and pickles. It's all personal preference, but I didn't think the pickles go well with mine. But if you're a pickle lover go for it. I ordered on doordash for the coupon this week. They seem a little understaffed. It took a while to get my order. And they asked me a few times if my name is correct.. sort of bothered me because I think I would know what my name is. But the worker is quite busy with taking orders makibg everything so I understand. I would recommend this place to try at least once. After all the food was delicious.
google avatar

Lynn V.

Yelp
It's my all time favorite meal in LA. I like how they're selling 1/2 wowshis now too bc while I love having a full 2 halves, it would put me to sleep to eat it all. Love all their sauces and putting them in my wowshi before and after the salad and cucumbers. Chicken is my favorite, though the ground beef one is pretty tasty too. Be careful of the really hot sauce bc as the name suggests, it's really hot. I only put a dab or two and that's sufficient for me and I love spicy foods. Always recommend this place if you're in Westwood. I haven't really been to another place where the pita is as fresh. Gotta check it out if you're a Bruin!
google avatar

Sophia U.

Yelp
Of all the places to go in Westwood, this is my favorite place to go! Mehdi, the owner, is one of the kindest guys I have ever met. He used to be a CS professor at UCLA and explained how this restaurant started out as a project for him and his son! I think what was nice to support a local business ran by a family over some of the chains in Westwood :') I ordered the Koftah Wowshi, which is patented btw! And it was delicious. Each pita is baked to order and there is a whole side for you to pack it with delicious sauces and picked veggies. Also, their falafel is delicious too and pairs so well with some dip. I also tried their fried cauliflower and fries. And wow. I loved it all, but their cauliflower was amazing. It is incredibly flavorful and seasoned perfectly. The BEST place in Westwood for delicious, fresh food for a perfect bite to grab with friends for a casual dinner or a quick lunch on the way to campus :)
google avatar

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Was recommended to this hidden gem of a spot. Quality pita (patented Wowshie!) with a good amount of filling and made fresh on the spot. Definitely a great place to grab a quick bite when heading to campus or just around the Westwood area.

Yelp
3.5 stars. I came on a Friday night. Ordered the falafel wowshi. Got the 10% student discount. I paid in cash, and I didn't even notice I was short on change until the cashier handed me another $5. It is self-serve for the toppings. There was quite a line for the self-serve station since it is pretty small. There's a good amount of options, and tons of different sauces. I ended up with tahini, hummus, and tzatziki, all of them were good. Basically added all the toppings to my wowshi, the tomatoes are the best in my opinion. The falafel themselves were tasty, but they lacked a crunchy exterior despite being fried. The wowshi as a whole is very filling and definitely worth the price paid.
google avatar

Hannah N.

Yelp
A UCLA classic. Their food is fresh and delicious. And they have a all you can take salad bar! Complete with at least 5-6 different sauce bottles. And hummus! Yeah parking is tough, but what do you expect in Westwood? You can park at the lot on Kinross for a fee. Or purchase something from one of the grocery stores to use their parking (Whole foods is closest to here). Also there is not a lot of room to eat inside, just one bar and 3 chairs so be prepared for that. I love the (steak) pitas, but the wowshis are popular because it feels like you're getting double the food. Wowshi is basically the pita but cut in two and then stuffed with whatever meat you order. Falafel is exquisite also. Show then your UCLA ID for a 10% discount.
google avatar

Yelp
Based on reviews I've read my expectations were definitely higher than what I experienced today. First impressions are crucial for a business, but I couldn't even tell the place was open since no one was manning the register or visible in the kitchen. The inside was dark, and the salad bar frankly looked neglected and possibly unsanitary. Still, despite every instinct to leave I tried not to judge a book by its cover and opted to stay. A man finally saw me and took my order, but his overall demeanor was not exactly warm and fuzzy. I ordered a chicken plate which came with said chicken (more on that in a moment), rice, and...black beans??? That last item was a very, very strange choice for a Middle Eastern restaurant. The chicken was supposedly cooked to order but did not taste fresh and was badly under-seasoned. No joke, I'm praying I don't get sick. The salad/condiment bar is free for customers but based on reviews from the recent past (and the empty trays) it has clearly been cut back. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, picked turnips, sliced pepperoncini, and the processed sliced pickles you put on burgers (i.e., not the authentic Middle Eastern pickles). There was also a variety of sauces in squeeze bottles. You also get a few pita triangles, but in the 5 minutes it took me to get home they'd already dried out to the point of being crackers...that was a first! Speaking of once I got home, when I opened the container there was a pool of oil and/or butter at the bottom. That's a huge gross-out thing for me. So all of this set me back over $17 after tax and tip. I know every restaurant's costs - and thus prices - have gone up recently, so I wasn't expecting fast food prices. Still, the food didn't come close to justifying what they charged. I'm not sure if it's inflation, the pandemic, or both, but this place unfortunately oozed corner-cutting. Maybe I simply ordered the wrong thing, but not a repeat for me and I wouldn't advise a first visit for anyone else. Despite the mostly good reviews there are far better similar restaurants in the area at that price.

Yelp
They have the best falafel!!! So fresh and delicious This is a must try and the owner is very very sweet Should of taken the photo before eating lol
google avatar

Yelp
The workers touch the food with their hands, handle money cash and they go back to the kitchen without washing their hands.. the food might be good but that's so gross and unsanitary... no more Bella Pita!!!!

Yelp
One of my favorite cheap(er) eats in Westwood! Prices have gone up over the years, but the value is still great. You can also get a student discount with your student ID card. I almost always get the chicken wowshi here. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and juicy. They make the wowshi/pita bread right in front of you-- shaping out dough and sending it through the oven to puff up into delicious, yeasty goodness. Once your carbs & protein are done, you go through the veggie & condiments bar (right of the counter). Options include chopped lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and SO MANY different sauces. Be sure to try the garlic and white sauces. Oh! And in case you find one whole wowshi to be enough for two meals (*cough* me *cough*), Bella Pita now lets you order half a pita/wowshi wrap! There's a poster on the wall with details, so check it out :)

Yelp
Westwood Businesses are being schlacked right now, so Support Westwood Businesses! Very good choice for takeout COVID-19 2020. Restaurant makes the transaction fast and as painless as possible. And while you cannot eat inside, they kinda have a small counter near the window to eat 'on-site.' Reminds me of the little hole-in-the wall falafel stands in Greenwich village in New York City -- and the surrounding areas as well. Ordered the Kafka beef wowshi in a warm baked pita pocket. Comes a la carte, or you can combine it as a meal with choice of side and soft drink. You also get your choice to somewhat customize your meal; with a couple of add-on veggies : I chose cucumber, pickled radish, tomatoes and onions; and 4-side sauces: super spicy sauce; garlic spread. Very good. Reasonable price too. Would definitely come here again to try their many pita variants.

Gerardo L.

Yelp
I ordered online for pick up, when I arrived, the restaurant was closed during normal operational hours, employee was there stocking the fridge and I as I tried to explain that I was just trying to pick up my mobile order, he rudely waved me off and would not acknowledge me and told me to come back when they're open, I told him I had work and he just shrugged, I don't care , I asked if he can cancel my order so I can at least get my money back and he said no, I emailed the business and haven't heard back from them, I tried to be patient because I do like coming here but I will now be creating a chargeback with my bank, because the service was clearly terrible and neither the employee or business were willing to speak to me and help me out.

Yelp
Location: Located near the intersection of Galey Ave and Levering Ave in Westwood Village. If you drive, I recommend waiting after 8pm to find metered parking. Before 5pm there is a two-hour parking lot in Broxton. The People: The staff is good. The Venue: room for four seats. Expect to eat standing or outside. You basically order your pita base and then you can add veggies and condiments yourself afterward. A bit pricier than it was a few years ago but the quality did improve as well. It used to be mediocre at best before but not it is a decent option. The Food: - Koftah (ground beef, onions, parsley, herbs and spices): Pretty good option. Tastes delicious. - Cheese (blend of three cheeses): It is like a quesadilla basically but with pita bread. This one is a bit overpriced I think. Still good. Upshot: a solid spot to get food in Westwood Village. One of my favorite spots to grab food in Los Angeles after 2am. It does NOT make me feel shitty after eating it (like most places open past 2am). I ate here as an UCLA undergrad a few years back, but as of 2020, the quality improved.

Yelp
Stopped by today for a quick lunch , The displayed menu was a little bit unclear as it showing a nice picture of a two half's of a pita laying down together in one plate , That kinda giving the customer an impression that he is going to get a sandwich of a full pita ( It's already small sized ) which make sense to be a one serving . The " sandwich " price is almost $8 and that's seems to be normal until you come to know it's a sandwich of a one small half pita ( perhaps a 4 bites for a regular average adult person) contains a little of your choice of protein and some salad salad ! I asked the gentleman behind the counter if the sandwich is going to be the pita in the displayed picture and he said yes ! After giving him my card he said your total is almost $13.00 I said ok but I still was confused about the actual size of the sandwich so I asked him how big is it ? He said so big and rounded his both hands with a big circle to show approximately how big it's ( he thought I'm worry it is going to be too small to fill me ) in fact I was asking becuz I wasn't that hungry and didn't wanted to waste any food so when I told him oh that going to be a big one and I'm not that hungry .he recalled and said : no it is small ! And again rounded his both hands but this time he made a smaller circle lol I asked him to show me the pita before he make it . He called his coworker who said : I can't touch it until you order it ! I was like what?! He said I will bake it First! He also thought I was worry it's going to be small and said its big ! I said I don't wanna a big sandwich! So he just followed his coworker and said its small ! I cancelled my order and just walked out ! Why can't them just to be upfront with their customers about their products and leave them to decide instead of all misleading ? Regrettably, I Can't talk here about the food itself as I haven't tried it , Just Talking about the ethic and the customer service only that most of my stars are normally goes for !

Yelp
Bella Pita is my favorite Westwood dining spot. The Wowshi and Falafel is second to none!! Sometimes I even order 2 because it's that good! Top it off with the salad and garlic sauce and it's a done deal. Super friendly staff, places to sit, and quiet enough to enjoy your meal in peace! 10/10 recommend

April L.

Yelp
My son is a graduate of UCLA & while at school he spoke of Bella Pita & even 5 years after graduation, he still speaks of the best Pita Sandwich place on earth. It was his go to eating place after classes and on the weekends. This week we traveled a couple hours to Bella Pita. I wanted to see what he was talking about & I was pleasantly surprised. It was everything he said. He ordered several items from the menu & I ordered the falafel sandwich. The bread was freshly made in front of us & so was my falafel. The vegetable toppings & sauces were plenty, delicious & fresh. Best falafel sandwich ever!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The place is small with a cozy atmosphere & the staff members were warm, kind & friendly. The trip to Bella Pita was worth it & it wont be my last time going there.

Yelp
This place is SO DELICIOUS. You basically build your own pocket pita with whatever you'd like from their bar. I ordered the steak wowshi, which was good, but my friends got the chicken wowshi and that was unbelievable. Perfect spot for after a UCLA basketball game!

Yelp
I've been in LA for a month and this is by far the worst customer service I've experienced. Not only was his tone and body language unprofessional, he rushed me to take an order. I've never been there and was studying the menu. Each time I added something, there was a problem. I ordered a falafel, fries and coke.

Yelp
U-C-L-A (8-clap chant ), stepping into good ol' Bruin days would not be complete (ever) without a stop at @bellapitala CHICKEN WOWSHI! with fries!! What great fond memories of having access to this small food-to-go in the heart of Westwood and Gayley Ave. Ingredients always are served fresh and always tastes and smells delicious. The owner Mehdi and cook have been around since 2007 and it's taste is still impeccable, as if time has not lapsed for one single second. Recommended to add all veggies (lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, red onions) and their sauces: tzatziki, green herbs, hot sauce and--per Mehdi's rec mix a bit of the really hot sauce with their white (yogurt) sauce for fries' dipping sauce, YUM! I absolutely love and it touched my heart to meet the owner after so many years and saluted the loyal and dedicated chef, as well as notice the newly updated and refreshed decor. Always look forward to revisiting ucla stomping grounds--and grabbing a wowshi !!

Yelp
Great spot for a quick bite. The half wowshi was enough for one person, full wowshi if you have a big appetite. I tried basterma for the first time and put on a lot of toppings via the topping bar. I've never been to a Mediterranean place where you can do that.

Yelp
I'm so happy this place is still here. Love getting the chicken pita which comes with 2 halves filled with chicken which you can then top with a wide range of toppings, including lettuce, tomato, onion, olives, pickled radish, etc. It is sooo much food for $13.

Yelp
The wowshis are absolutely delicious here. There are a couple of wowshi options for vegetarians -the black bean wowshi and the falafel wowshi. The pita bread is wonderful. Yes, they are pricey for their portion sizes, but most things in Westwood tend to be on the pricey end. Please note the space in the restaurant is very limited. You'd have to eat quickly while standing or get the order as a takeout order.

Yelp
This is a secret gem in Westwood. It's a middle eastern shwarma/falafel/pita type of place with a nice self serve salad bar to fill your own sandwich. I've had the falafel a couple times. It's only ok, but that sald bar with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, cabbage (more( and like 8 sauces: tahinin, white garlic, hot, hotter, hottest, dressing; is the real gem. I usually load my pita and the paper boat it comes in for a big sandwich and side salad, for like $8. I went with a friend and the guy suggested wawoosh instead of pita. It's like a fresh pita nd twice the size as a normal pita. Similar, but freshly made. They load your meat:chicken, beef, lamb, ground beef in two halves. SO by the time you overload each one with maximum veg and sauce it;s almost two sandwiches, again $8/9 bones. It's a hole in the wall with 4 chairs at a window but a nice fresh health spot around the corner form In n Out.

Yelp
A hole in the wall place with fresh and steaming pita/falafel. I really enjoyed the open concept of the salad bar / sauces. I found the 1/2 pita to be just the right amount for a light lunch ($6.25). They have a shelf outside where you can eat your meal standing up.

Yelp
When one daughter was craving falafel, I discovered Bella Pita nearby on Yelp, and so we walked over after shopping nearby. It's very small, and there was a short line which filled the tiny front room. So we waited outside until we could fit. Our eventual order: two falafel 'wowshis' (translation: falafel pita sandwiches) Let's cut to the chase: the falafel was cooked-to-order and quite delicious. It totally hit the spot for my daughter and I. (4.5*) Unfortunately we had no place to eat it. Needless to say, there was very limited table space inside, and if there had been a seat, we would have had the line looming next to us (I hate that). So Bella Pita is really best described as a takeout spot. We eventually decided to walk across the street and eat our tasty sandwiches while sitting on a low wall, in the shade, next to the sidewalk. Not ideal, but most of the passers-by ignored us; I think perhaps they have witnessed this scene before.

Yelp
BEST PITA AND FALAFEL IN THE WORLD . @bellapitala is a small falafel bar in Westwood and near USC. The place makes fresh pita and falafel (swipe left) for you Everytime, no matter how late at night you turn. The warmth of the pita fills you in and biting to those perfect falafels, along with their homemade sauces, is an experience for any void soul. This has been a staple spot for drunk UCLA kids for years and also anyone who wants a Satisfactory meal. I have taken various new customers to that place, and tried teaching them how to do Bella pita. Funnily Everytime there would be somebody else there doing the same thing with other Bella pita virgins. Believe me, this place is worth a trip to the westside and relive the good old college feels. .
