This is a great Italian restaurant. They greet you with fresh hot garlic bread and the entrees were excellent. We had chicken Florentine and shrimp fettuccine Alfredo. Both came with a side salad. I look forward to my future visits.

Google
Old place but good service. You really can’t mess up minestrone which I enjoyed with my moscato but my husbands lasagna was to sweet and marinara should’ve been chucks. Delightful girl though!

I like supporting local restaurants, so I gave Bella Sera a try. As far as authentic Italian restaurants go (and having lived in Italy for several years) I would say they are good but not great. The chicken parmigiana is very good. Large portion. The lobster ravioli is not as good or well proportioned as other restaurants. Sure, I could get more consistency from a chain Italian restaurant, but this place is fine if you want to support local restaurants. The servers are friendly. The atmosphere is fine. Prices are better than chain restaurants, and there is more variety with this menu. I rate Bella Sera 4/5 stars, but will return to give them an opportunity to boost the rating.

Google
A great place for a great lunch of well-made, fresh Italian food. There are plenty of seats. The dining area is well-maintained and clean, and the service is attentive.

Google
Chicken Alfredo 3.5/5 - noodles were good, sauce was thick and a little bland. Less chicken than anticipated Bread 3/5 - smells amazing and appears soft but is kinda crunchy in a weird way. Gluten free pasta w/marinara - pasta was overcooked and super crumbly. Zero flavor, they’re just not a good noodle. Marinara tasted super bland too. I made pasta at home with minimal effort earlier this week and it was much better than this was, super disappointed. It’s a run of the mill Italian restaurant, which is so disappointing because the Fredericksburg location was amazing.

Google
I was disappointed with the taste of the food. The website makes this place look elegant, but when we got there, it looked like a run down shack. The room smelled fishy, and the food was just not up to par. While, it looked pretty, it lacked in flavor and the veal was tough. It tasted old.

Been visiting this location regularly for several years. The exterior is very unassuming, but the food is solid. We usually have a party of 4-5. Most recent time was party of 5 on a Thursday evening. About 1/3 full. Service was quick and friendly. Drinks and bread (every now and then it is under-baked, but this time it was perfect) were almost immediate. Prices are reasonable. Our favorites have been Lasagna, Cannelloni, Fettuccine Alfredo (usually with shrimp), Fettuccine Cabonara, Tortellini Michelangelo, and when we don't know what to get, the sampler is a fine choice.

Yelp
I've been going for Bella Sera for over a decade, since I first moved to Boerne at about 14 years old. It is an absolute staple. The restaurant stands all the way down on the Northside of Main Street, outside the busy section near the square. Service has ALWAYS been awesome. The owners are very cool, personable, and professional. I've never had any issues with the service at all. Wine list is great. It's not overwhelmingly large like many restaurants, but they have essential Italian wines like mine and my wife's favorites, delicious Chianti Classico, and also a spread from France, U.S., and other places. Great selection. Now the food. It is AWESOME. They serve a lot of traditional Italian cuisine such as cheesy lasagna, cannelloni, manicotti, etc. They also have many dishes similar to what we're used to in America such as spaghetti and meat balls and Stromboli. Their specialties are what is REALLY love. The many different chicken dishes are extremely delicious. Some of our favorites are the Chicken Piccata (pictured), Chicken Florentine (pictured), Chicken Marsala, and baked pasta trio. Please continue to support this incredible business and get some awesome food. You really gotta come back and try a few different things here. Especially the homemade garlic bread. Delizioso

Yelp
This is, probably, the second or third time that I've eaten at Bella Sera. Previously, I had ordered pizza to go from them, and had it for lunch this time. The pizza was good, and the food was OK. They had a lunch menu, for $10.99, and the portions were adequate. Place was fairly clean, if a bit worn, but I did feel that the food was good. I did think the servings were a bit small, however, at 10.99, it was a deal. This is a place that I would try again.

Yelp
Customer service 5/5 Value - 4/5 Taste - 4/5 Friendly waitstaff, good food and healthy portions make Bella Serra an old favorite. The garlic knots are simply scrumptious!

Yelp
Solid 4. We were quickly seated on a Saturday night although they were steady our server came right to us. Taylor took excellent care of us the entire night. Very attentive and personable. The food was good portion size and hot and fast. Got some salads that were ok but their house Italian dressing was quite good. I had the chicken arrabiata which had a nice spice to it. My wife had the Italian sampler which was all together in one dish and covered in cheese so she really could not always distinguish what she was eating but overall still tasty. We had not been here in awhile but definitely will return when on north side of Boerne.

Yelp
I have been to Bella Sera, Kerrville, Fredericksburg , and Boerne's locations for years. I have always for the past + years ordered my pizza half baked and not cut. Only once in this time has it come out fully cooked and cut. The server apologized and replaced the order and made sure I received what I ordered. This time I was clear as always the way I wanted my order, and after my order I repeated what I needed and why, my Girls work late and I finish it in my smoker. Kind of a tradition when we are all together. My pizza comes out with my order and when I go to open the pizza box the guy behind the bar says we don't do half bakes, never have. Well, now I understand why my wife and her friends won't go there. The servers are rude and the food is mediocre. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME or $!

Yelp
I have never tried this restaurant before but my son came in town and he said let's get a pizza I said okay let's give this place a try....... A little bird that installed my internet highly recommended this restaurant, and the owner is so sweet and accommodating, well they did not disappoint for sure. The garlic knots were fabulous and don't get me started on the pizza we ordered the bellasera and it was awesome. Sorry we ate it too fast to take a picture for proof guess I'll have to go again next week and get another

Julie S.

Yelp
I had come here a week ago and I had heard that the food was really good. I had posted something on Next Door App app.. I think the people might've been sideways because they were criticizing my pictures. I'll put the same pictures on here so you can see that the food looks amazing... and I've got a stuffed rolled up dish with a light colored sauce! You can also get this with red sauce! I like their braided bread, you don't get that even at the high-end high profile places. I would highly recommend coming here give them a chance... here's your call to action I don't know the hours but I came on a Saturday at 11 AM.

Yelp
Omg this food was soooooo good! This place not only has amazing food but good customer service! The ambience is really cool as well! We had the fettuccine Alfredo with mushrooms, tilapia fish, chicken Parmesan, ribeye marsala, armetto cheesecake, lobster ravioli, caprese salad, and tortellini pink.Such great tasty food! You can smell it as soon as you walk in the door! Cant wait to visit my sister again so I can go back again!

Rod L.

Yelp
Always good food at Bella Sera. Our waitress, Yan, who is new there, was very attentive and professional. Her genuine smile made us feel like we were one happy family in Italy eating at home. We will ask for Yan again our next visit! Ciao!

Maritza S.

Yelp
Great ambiance, fast and great customer service. Will definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu.

Yelp
Great food. Excellent service my wife and I stopped in for a peaceful lunch very surprised it was just perfect.

Yelp
I went in for the first time in a long time since the place went downhill during Covid. Though it looks the same inside, much has changed. Prices are up sharply and the lunch I chose today sounded way better on paper than the nasty slop it was. Even the bread was funky. Service was OK and quick enough, but the hag who seated me was not very welcoming. I looked at what other diners had and some looked pretty good, so I'll not give up on this place entirely, but it'll probably be awhile before I return. If you live in Boerne, crave Italian, and want value for your dining dollar, I suggest Capparelli's just down the road at Fair Osks Ranch. The food is better, the portions are larger, and you'll feel satisfied when you push away from the table.
google avatar

L K.

Yelp
Worst Italian food I've ever attempted to choke down. No noodles bigger than a half inch square in the lasagne, which is just goopy slop. The spaghetti with sausage is noodles in gag-me-acidic tomato sauce with three sausage turds on the side. Utterly awful. Just don't eat here!!! Be warned, Don't!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Bella Sera is all around the hill country. I like this location because it's usually never crowded. I've never had to wait and they have quite a bit of seating. Each time I've been they seem fully staffed which is great! Also, there aren't many other pasta restaurants in Boerne, so they don't have a lot of competition either. The garlic knots are seriously to die for! They are so delicious and it pairs so great with the meal. I have tried many items on the menu. My two -to-meals are the shrimp Alfredo and spaghetti with meat sauce. In the spaghetti, I live the texture of the thin noodles. The lasagna was just okay for me. It was super hot in the middle. The mozzarella cheese sticks tasted like cheese sticks. They were okay! The best time to go is during the lunch specials. The price is great and the portions are nice! Overall, I'll still continue to come and try new things on the menu! Make sure you take some bread home too!
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
So unassuming we drove past the first time. The parking lot was packed and it looked like a really small place! Then we walked in and the smell of Italian cooking envelopes you! To start we had Mozzarella Caprese. I didn't get a picture because we ate it! Each entre came with a soup or salad. We opted for salad. Fresh and crisp. I had the veal Piccata.(pictured). It was nested on top of angel hair pasta. Plenty of lemon and delightfully salty capers. My husband had Shrimp diavolo. I again didn't get a photo. He said it was good. Looking around. The pizza looks amazing! Seeing how many people got carryout for leftovers of baked pasta. I'd say they all liked it! If you ever visit this quirky town this place is a must!

Yelp
I would give zero stars if I could. The server was nice but that's it. The Chicken Alfredo wasn't edible . The chicken tasted like 3-4 days old dried out chicken and the sauce was clumpy and tasted old and un-seasoned. My sister got a different white wine pasta dish that was almost as bad. The best part of our meal was the bread and butter. Wasted $$$

Yelp
We decided to try the new Bella Sera Italian Restaurant in New Braunfels (Previously TJ's Burgers). This is the chain's fifth location. Not fancy; big, open, unadorned and fairly loud dining room. The Owner/Manager gave us a very warm greeting and thank you upon leaving. The young man serving us was very attentive, courteous and got everything we ordered correct. The complimentary garlic knots were good, but dipping oil costs a couple bucks extra which I found strange. (Like charging for chips and salsa). The chicken soup that accompanied the meal was hot and tasty. The Chicken Siciliana was pretty good, but the lemony sauce left me with a bit of a sour aftertaste. The dish is served top angel hair pasta which rendered it very wet vs. Al Dente. The Chicken Parmesan was pretty thin (more like Scallopini) and seemed almost like a pre-breaded frozen product. Really nothing special. Hopefully, they'll improve after the break-in period.

Yelp
We typically order takeout from Bella Sera, but decided to try dining in the restaurant tonight. The service was excellent and our server joked with our kids throughout the night. The food is always on point and delicious. So much so that it's hard to try new dishes because I know how much I love the Eggplant Parmesan, which comes with a side salad or soup and spaghetti. My husband typically orders the Chicken Alfredo or Chicken Marsala and the kids love the pepperoni pizza. Everyone was happy with their entree and we shared a yummy strawberry cheesecake for dessert. I highly recommend Bella Sera!

Yelp
We just finished having dinner and were excited to give it a try. Upon arrival I noticed that the ambiance was really meek. We got sat at a booth that had large rips in the seat, no big deal but not flattering. The waiter wasn't communicative whatsoever and he had no recollection of what we ordered and he asked who had what when he came to the table with only 4 people. Service I'd say was just blah. The salad was super cold and flavorless and the ranch wasn't homemade. The dinner was ok.. nothing special. Overall- 2/5.

Val K.

Yelp
Exceptionally BAD service. Every item was delivered at once -- appetizers, bruschetta, salad, soup, entree. The food was terrible. My veal was rubbery and tasteless, and was served in a puddle of greasy, watery sauce. The wine was overpriced by about $20 for our cheap vintage selection. Do not go to this restaurant.

Bailey Y.

Yelp
Today was an achievement of one item on my bucket list. What a dream come true. The beauty of the taste was heaven. Bella should be a 5 star Michelin Star restaurant as the restaurant menu is an explosion on your taste buds. And lunch servings are beyond expectations. Looking forward to regular meals from such a great restaurant.

Yelp
Delicious food, excellent service and perfect portions. Nice upscale casual atmosphere but still cozy . They were able to accommodate our party on short notice as well.

Chris S.

Yelp
Dined here for the first time on a Sunday for my birthday, based on reviews. Bit of a disappointment; portions adequate, salads average, Calamari appetizer pretty good, Chicken marsala skimpy on the chicken, & have had much better Clams & red elsewhere. For the price, could have gone to Olive Garden for just as good a meal & about $20.00 cheaper. Live & learn. Won't be back.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was fine but while we are still eating, an elderly woman, not our waitress, with a bussing cart came over and cleared our table. I had just seen her do it to a nearby table also. She took everything including the forks. It was like she wanted to close up the place before it was even dark. I was going to order dessert but with everything gone, we just paid and left.

Nunya B.

Yelp
Wow! What a sorry excuse for an Italian restaurant. This is frozen Sam'sClub tortellini and pre-cooked Tyson grilled chicken strips they are serving here. The Olive Garden is gourmet compared to this place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME FOLKS

Yelp
We discovered this place when visiting Comfort and ate there every night. Great food, super nice staff at a reasonable price. We will be back!

Yelp
Would leave ZERO stars if we could- we came for our anniversary dinner as it is a weeknight and we have two kids under 2 years old it's very hard to get out. We waited 10 minutes, had AT LEAST 6 staff walk by us, just looking, tending to people at the bar, no greeting, nothing. THEN another family walk in and are IMMEDIATELY greeted and asked how many to be seated. We were shocked!! even the family said, um no they were here first! When I quickly said, yes! We have been waiting! We need a table for 4 please ! The lady walks off WHILE I am talking! We quickly turned around and said we will just take our business elsewhere. We were prepared to drop over $100 plus, easily ! But we will NEVER go back to this establishment. Gave us a very racist vibe. As a former waitress, I would never conduct business like this. Never trying the food as we will never go here.

Yelp
Amazing pizza and flavorful dishes! We came in for dinner on a Tuesday evening. It got pretty busy around 7:45 which didn't affect the level of service but the food times were a bit extended. I had the Chicken Vernona which was full of flavor and a large serving, but the chicken was a bit over cooked. My son had the ravioli...the sauce was delicious and slightly sweet. They serve delicious homemade bread with butter prior to the meal. The salads that were served with our meals were VERY small...but I saw others that looked larger...there seems to be a bit of inconsistency there. We also ordered the 12" Bella Sera pizza...it was amazing! Thin homemade hand tossed crust that holds up to the ample toppings without becoming soggy. The edges were crisp with a bit of chew thars just perfect!

Yelp
Food was delicious! Better Italian menu than most Italian - American establishments. The staff is friendly with customers and each other. Very warm and welcoming place. Felt comfortable taking my 1 year old. Very clean and relaxed Would recommend and would go again

Yelp
Love there garlic bread, had lasagna it was good and glass of wine cost me 30.00 for lunch

Yelp
All I have to say is OMG!!! My second time here and it was just as great! First time tried the lasagna, manicotti, cannelloni. Delicious! Second time tried the chicken tetrazzini and its simply delectable! Perfectly made and seasoned, large portion and comes with a soup or salad. My husband ordered chicken piccata twice, cuz it's his favorite. I have to say the bread that is delivered is not only beautiful, its is the best bread I've ever had. I could easily come here for the bread and tea. The wait staff are ALL super friendly, all working hard to please everyone. They seem to work together very well. I've lived in Boerne for 3 years and can't believe I waited so long to try it!

Regina D.

Yelp
When placing a delivery order through their website and was redirected to Slice.com to place order. Order had pepperoni pizza, cheese pizza was delivered. Talked to management, was told to get refund from Slice. It was the restaurant that didn't follow receipt or order slip. Explicitly told person on the phone after order was placed corn allergy for sandwich, restaurant used bread with cornmeal. Also refund needs to be taken up with Slice.com as if it was Slice who almost sent someone to the hospital. I don't recommend restaurant because of the lack of quality control and failure to follow order slips. I would not trust them with another order for anyone with food allergies.

Joyce C.

Yelp
What happened to Bella Sera in Boerne? Hankering for some good Italian food and some good wine sent us to their door. Can't complain about the bread and the salad, super good. The veal parmigiana was meh and the server made no effort to serve a good glass of Chardonnay. She clearly felt she was doing me a favor by taking my order! What happened to upselling the wine at an Italian food restaurant? Stunned and disappointed at the lack of customer service. There was no check back on the wine service, only the food. The sass was real, she should be retrained. No thanks BS,I can go to that other place down the road. BS is BS!

Yelp
I was a little hesitate at first as I haven't been blown away with Boerne restaurants. However, I was pleasantly surprise with Bella Sera. We went for a late lunch and unfortunately I'm doing Keto so trying to be careful with carbs. I had a bite of the complimentary bread and it was delicious. Ordered a side of marinara with it and it was even better! The calamari was yummy also served with their marinara- Lunch specials are reasonable and comes with salad for $8.99 I had the eggplant parm and it was VERY cheesy. Probably a little too much cheese for me but the flavors were delicious. My friend had the linguini with mushroom and the pasta was cooked perfectly el dente. The flavor of hers was amazing- as I had a small bite. I watched her eat the rest while shedding some tears as I wanted more. Definitely will be back on a cheat day!

Shari J.

Yelp
I don't love the ambiance of the restaurant, so we generally order take out. Highly recommend the food! My favorite is Salmon Picatta and Caprese salad. The baked Ziti, add Alla Pana sauce is amazing! My husband loves the pizza and Stromboli. Garlic knot rolls are to die for! Try it!

Tina W.

Yelp
What a hidden gem this place is! We've driven past it a few times , never paying it any attention. Last night we wanted to try something new. We passed it yet again and turned around, thinking we'd give it a try. It was fantastic!! Amazing garlic knots brought to the table. I got lasagna and my hubby got baked ziti. Both were so delicious. We shared a fantastic Cesar salad. Everyone around us was ordering and indulging on pizza so we know that we have to go back for that next. The staff was professional and courteous. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Yelp
Hey. Unassuming low key and personal service. This isn't Olive Garden. I enjoyed the garlic bread. Homemade and very nice. I had the chicken cacciatore and it was good. Not great but good. The chicken was tough and tasted precooked and added at the end. My guest had shrimp scampi and it was very good also. The salads were fresh and I was full when I left which is a plus considering I'm use to western style portions. The prices are typical of Italian and I did enjoy myself. It's a nice diversion from the norm.

Robert G.

Yelp
Great food! The veal parm was the best I've had in this area. And, the service was outstanding. A spendid family-run Italian restaurant.
google avatar

Greg H.

Yelp
The food was definitely at least 3-4 stars. There are not a lot of choices in downtown boerne. My wife had the Italian sampler which had great flavor. Based on the menu it looks like it had several selections inside. After it was covered with cheese and marinara it all looked the same. Definitely a YUM! I had the three meat pizza after being lured by the warm hot bread. The bread was better than the pizza but still very enjoyable. The service was poor. Long time between getting drink refills and what I would say was unresponsive.

Rebecca F.

Yelp
Friendly family owned restaurant with solid Italian food! The lasagna is great and killer garlic knots are worth going for in their own!!
google avatar

Edward O.

Yelp
Bella Sera is one of the only Italian specialty restaurants in Boerne, Texas. Upon entry there is a bar area on the right and dining room on the right. I've sat and ate with my family several times and took carry-out multiple times. The food has decent flavors no complaints and the service is decent too. Bella Sera is a convenient location for us. If we want higher quality food and service, we normally would take a road trip toward San Antonio.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food. Disappointed that when we asked for an up charge to Caesar salad we were charged $ 6.99. Not told that was going to happen. We assumed $2. An entire salad was $6.99. Then the bill was 90$. I gave them 120$ (100 and a 20 to leave 22%) cash .. said this will work and they didn't bring back any change. Didn't even say thanks as in it was a huge tip, left and didn't come back. So, good food, but not happy. Our $120 tonight was far more valuable. We will go other places from now own. It's easy to drive by someplace else. This was in Boerne. We lived in Leander, visited that location once. Never went back. Trying to recall why ... it was in 2019 and we went once. In the end I was happy there was gluten free pasta. Extremely unhappy our meal came with a $4.99 salad and were not even comped for that but charged $6.99 more ! Don't surprise at the end of the meal - tell a customer !!!

Yelp
First thing the owner/manager is a jerk, he was very rude to us on two different occasion, one on a take out order, went to pick it up and our paper bag was soggy and the order was ripping the bag I very politely ask if I could get a repack or a plastic bag The jerk manager freaked out and refused, and was very rude Second time, same Russian manager verbally assaulted my mother in law About the bill , when she questioned a wrong charge, he is not a nice person!!! The food is mediocre at best, definitely not worth dealing with the jerk owner Only way I would ever return to this place is if he issues a very public apology or I could kick him in the nuts for being so rude

C K.

Yelp
When we arrived, either we weren't noticed, or the three employees in the front were too busy talking to stop and greet us. Once we were seated, we had a courteous waiter, and our food arrived promptly. I was quite disappointed at the quality of the spaghetti and meatballs. Two small, lukewarm meatballs with little flavor and no texture. The meatballs were the size of quarters. No apparent seasoning in the sauce, either.

Price T.

Yelp
Best Neapolitan pizza in Boerne (fight me!) They also have good pasta, chicken parm is hearty. Get the garlic oil.

Rick R.

Yelp
I've gone three more times since my last review. Each time they've exceeded expectations with both food quality and service. Happy to say that the ambiance of one of my favorite eateries in Boerne is back and better than ever.
google avatar

Christi B.

Yelp
Unfortunately we've tried Bella Sera multiple times because it's the only Italian restaurant in town, but I just don't see anything here to keep us coming back. I honestly go out for Italian because some of it is so labor intensive so I'm willing to pay for it but the quality here just doesn't do it for me. I know a lot of people LOVE IT so YMMV, but it's not somewhere we're returning to any time soon.

Sara Ann B.

Yelp
Very disappointed this time around. My fettuccine was swimming in Alfredo sauce. My husband ordered spaghetti and got angel hair. That was not our issue. We didn't get our appetizer. And my salad that was included in my meal never came and we were not given any discount. I was asked why I didn't get my salad. I responded by saying cause you never gave to me

Toby S.

Yelp
Ate lunch 1p with group of #10. Offered lunch specials with ample portions : most of us did take home . We all had something different ; definitely no complaints ! Enjoyed the thick rich sauce, & food was hot. The salads were cold and crisp ; dressings on the side were delicious. food was served simultaneously. Bread & cheesecake delicious; our waiter did a fine job!
