Visited for the first time on Sunday 8/24/25 and tiu are welcomed with a smile by the young ladies at the reservation booth. Everything was great and Jenny our waitress was very welcoming. She has a “smile” and “personality” that shines. We will remember and recommend. Thanks Jenny for making our visit a worthwhile experience. Mattie

Google
This is a great restaurant with delicious food. They run specials Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday. I went on Wednesday and got their 10 dollar burgers. It was well worth the price. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the service was top notch. They also have a balcony and you can go outside and enjoy a nice view of the city. My one complaint is the stools they have are very uncomfortable. It was really awkward to sit on them.

From the moment we were seated, Sarah made our dining experience exceptional. She greeted us warmly, was attentive without being intrusive, and anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. Her knowledge of the menu and thoughtful recommendations elevated our meal, and her genuine kindness made us feel truly welcomed. It’s rare to encounter service that feels both professional and personal, but Sarah delivered it effortlessly. She’s a true asset to Bella Union, and we look forward to dining here again thanks to the outstanding experience she provided.

Google
Fantastic burger... fantastic Makers Mark @ the bar. Great last meal in NYC before heading back to Houston. Great atmosphere.

Google
The service and atmosphere of Bella Union was remarkable! The servers are very kind and are very patient, it didn’t take long to be seated, and the menu options have a large range of things to choose from! The rooftop itself was very floral and urban— with outstanding views of the city! In fact, I feel as if this place is very underrated and lives up to every single review. The food is incredible and the ambience is something every New Yorker would love to engage in. I went for lunch with a friend, the servers, the staff and even front desk were extremely nice with impeccable service. Great overall!

Google
Bella Union is a fun pub. It has the reclaimed wood aesthetic of The Penny Farthing blocks down the avenue, but it has the advantage of a rooftop terrace that is often open. My only gripe so far is I wish it had a couple more craft American beers on tap. But their cocktails and food are above average for a downtown pub. The burger is excellent. The service is speedy. I plan to visit again soon!

Google
I came here on a Friday night with three others in early July around 645pm before a movie we were seeing around the corner. We didn't have a reservation and were able to be seated immediately. This is definitely a bar with a standing area mixed with dining tables. Despite the bar vibe/atmosphere, it was not obnoxiously loud and was well air conditioned on a hot day. We ate in the ground floor restaurant and did not go to the "rooftop". The food and service were fine. I probably wouldn't come back here unless someone else invited me. I also would not recommend. This place, like many in the neighborhood, is worthy of definitive "meh".

Google
Literally delectable. Googled for a good eggs Benedict with a nice view near me and my desires were DELIVERED. The food was a 10/10, my mocktail, “Good Luck Babe” was great as well. The potato fries were definitely my favorite addition to the entree which ended up being a very reasonable price as a whole meal itself. The staff were also just very very nice to greet and seat me. My server was even more eager to be of service as well and I felt very welcomed at Bella Union! I’ve already recommended it to a few friends and I’ve totally found my go-to rooftop spot for the future. ;)

Yelp
I came here after work with my coworkers. We were able to be seated quickly on the rooftop. We took advantage of the happy hour which ends at 8 pm! What we ordered: - Tater tots - Buffalo cauliflower - sweet potato fries - chicken tenders tossed in Buffalo sauce For drinks we got Prosecco, rose, and white wine.

Yelp
Overall a solid bar for going out with friends especially in larger groups. Bella Union is very spacious for a bar with 3 floors. The top floor also has a great view of the Empire State Building. In terms of drinks, they have happy hour at different times depending on the day. I got espresso martinis for $5 during happy hour. Tasted just okay. I'm unsure how good the other drinks are but I don't recommend ordering the espresso martinis no matter how cheap it is
google avatar

Jasmine L.

Yelp
$5 espresso martinis on Tuesday from 4pm onwards! However, I personally do not enjoy them, they're extremely bitter with a strong coffee and alcohol aftertaste. The service is fast and the ambience is amazing for some light snacks with friends. They have three floor and the rooftop area is my favourite! Lots of seating with an open balcony area that has a beautiful view of the chrysler building and empire state building!

Yelp
Came for happy hour Tuesday deals, which go until late. We walked in and got a table. There was a lot of space. The espresso martinis were good. We tried the loaded tots, brussel sprouts with pancetta bits, and steak mashed potato flatbread. The flatbread was delicious. I'd come again. Servers were nice.
google avatar

Yelp
The place to be on a day with nice weather. The place to be on a nice night. Great espresso martinis, good music, and good service. Maeve is a wonderful server and took good care of me. I love this spot. It is a great place to bring friends.
google avatar

Karina Q.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place with my friend completely randomly, but we were very pleased with the experience because the food here is really delicious! I recommend the NY strip steak salad. We happened to come during the lunch special, and the prices pleasantly surprised us. Generous portions for very good prices! Beautiful decor, plenty of space, and a wonderful view. The service was 3/5; the waitstaff wasn't very friendly and forgot to bring our drinks, but the food, prices, and decor made up for it. Overall, a wonderful experience. The place is quite popular bc on Friday afternoon it was already very crowded. Def recommend this place!

Yelp
This was my second time coming here. Found this place on my way to another happy hour spot and noticed their sign mentioning $10 burgers all day on Wednesdays. So after hitting up the first happy hour spot, got hungry after a few drinks and made my way to Bella Union. Ordered the American burger ($10) with bacon ($3) and got a high noon ($6 - HH) along with it. The burger was really good and gave plenty of fries which I couldn't finish. For the quality and amount of food, probably the best happy hour deal around. The place has three floors with full bar in each including a rooftop bar. If you are looking for a happy hour spot or just a spot to grab food and drinks, I highly recommend this spot. I found my go to happy hour spot :) * rooftop * plenty of tv's for sports * great service * daily happy hour specials
google avatar

Kenneth E.

Yelp
Really good food and drinks. At like 10pm the place adds a DJ and table service stops and as a millennial, the music was so good. There were three floors supposedly, but the top floors were blocked off for a private party so I definitely would come back and check that out. Also want to come back for one of their specials!
google avatar

Jordan W.

Yelp
This is a great sports bar. Big open windows on first floor allow a great breeze. Roof top is amazing as well. Service is great, food is good, and a big menu of drinks. Would definitely come back soon
google avatar

Allison G.

Yelp
Great happy hour, came for the Tuesday night espresso martini special. It does get very lively though, so make a reservation in advance. Added myself to the list and went from estimated 30 minute wait, to waiting over an hour. Ordered the tuna crispy rice, wings, and steak flatbread. Crispy rice was hands down the best! Overall a solid deal and fun place to catch up with friends!
google avatar

Cyrus A.

Yelp
Bella Union is an "upscale" multilevel sports bar in Kips Bay Area. There are some smaller tables, and a looong bar on the ground level, in addition to more floor space on the upper floors. The drink list is pretty standard, and the menu has some interesting items. Don't expect life-changing quality, though. At the end of the day, it's a sports bar, and you'll get sports bar food. I've had a few entrees, and most recently tried the buffalo cauliflower. Nothing especially noteworthy, and the buffalo cauliflower was SUPER acidic. Not sure why their buffalo sauce has to be 90% vinegar and 10% sulfuric acid. Decent spot, usually with plenty of space available if you're looking for somewhere decent to bring a larger group.
google avatar

Alisa W.

Yelp
Best black bean burger! Between the chipotle mayo & guacamole it had a great spicy kick to it. Chicken corn chowder soup was excellent too (although on the creamy side it's not too thick or filling). Ambiance was super cute & nicely decorated for the holiday. Service was friendly & knowledgeable about the menu. Definitely would come back!
google avatar

Jad F.

Yelp
Bella union offers a delightful rooftop area, especially enjoyable when seated in the shade. The service provided was excellent, and the staff was friendly. However, the au poivre burger we ordered lacked flavor and didn't meet our expectations. On the bright side, the fries were delicious. Another dish we tried, the ahi tuna bowl, was tasty. One of the attractive features is their bottomless brunch option priced at $25, and if you order exclusively from the brunch menu between 11 am and 4 pm, you can also receive one free cocktail. Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but the food can be considered average in terms of taste and quality.
google avatar

Abraham B.

Yelp
The steak salad was delicious! Looking forward to returning and having more of the yummy options that I saw on the menu!
google avatar

Caitlin S.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour with some coworkers. The vibes were amazing. It is a great place to come with a large group they were very accommodating. It is absolutely beautiful inside. The lights are dim and set a very moody and fun environment. All the cocktails and food that we all had was delicious! We all really enjoyed ourselves. Only downside was the staff did yell at some of my coworkers for using the bathroom upstairs with no explanation. Would definitely come back!
google avatar

Dante V.

Yelp
The happy hour at this place is absolutely phenomenal, $5 espresso martinis?! I'm in. The ambience is great too, it's got a western aesthetic, and I definitely heard the Reba theme song--shamelessly belted it out and the bartender gave me props. This place is a must visit for an after work happy hour. Highly recommend the espresso martini, you won't be disappointed, heads up though, there may be a slight wait!
google avatar

Chanel T.

Yelp
Always a great place for a luncheon or happy hour. Good vibes. Good Food. Lovely Staff.
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
Their cocktails were amazing, I got the 818 Cosmo - delicious. We came around the holidays and it looked like we were walking through a Xmas card. Very cute spot! Burata was so fresh and tasty!
google avatar

Nadia A.

Yelp
This definitely a vibe on the weekend. Came here for a staff outing and it was more than we had expected. We had one floor to ourselves with appetizers and bar to ourselves. The food options were great, except the guacamole, wasn't the best I had. The chicken tenders amusing wish we had more, shrimp buffalo slider amazing, didn't even know it was shrimp lol quesadilla nice and juicy and steak kebab where great as well. The service was attentive to us as well, drinks were okay as we only had limited options which was fine. Not strong enough for my killing as five drinks in and left home not feeling much but it is what is not the worse thing ever. My coworkers did enjoy their espresso martinis, which will definitely give a try next time! Did enjoy the vibes and the music was great there. Would definitely come back with friends for a night out.
google avatar

Teresa S.

Yelp
The margaritas are to die for! The habanero wings are absolutely DELISH!! I also ordered the steak w fries and nothing disappointed. The rooftop is super cute and is enclosed for the colder days. I will be coming time and time again. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Josh F.

Yelp
Peter took great care of us and put the Rangers game on/got us served right away and politely. They've got $5 Espresso Martinis on Tuesday. Great place!
google avatar

Jackie K.

Yelp
So I made a reservation and I thought that would entitle us to the rooftop. When we got there we were told there weren't any available tables on the roof and it was bar only. We were really disappointed because we came specifically for the roof from a different neighborhood. We sat at high tops inside instead. We watched group after group go upstairs without stopping at the hostess. Later we went up to check out the roof and saw they were all seated at tables. They need to make clear on their reservations if you are reserving for indoors or outdoors. They had a happy hour going on which was a good deal for drinks. My grilled cheese and fries were fantastic. The place was clean and huge. There were 3 levels. Only 4 star because of the roof thing.
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
The rooftop to this place cool I guess but it's super small. It's like a 1/4 size of the actual top floor. We were here for a brunch and didn't order too much to really give a detailed review but the French toast I ordered was really good. The salad that my wife had was also good. Just don't remember what it was called. The service was good.

Tianna C.

Yelp
We hosted a private event in the back main bar of Bella Union and cannot be happier! Nikki and Sarah were so helpful and very responsive. The food and drinks were amazing and the staff were so friendly! They went out of their way to accommodate us and made sure the event went smoothly. The space was perfect for the cocktail/mingling vibe we were going for. I would highly recommend booking a private event with them! Thank you again for making our event so special!
google avatar

Amazia K.

Yelp
The service was just ehhhh. They were super busy and we did sit on the rooftop tho. Nothing special in terms of service It was very loud and busy at the rooftop. They don't take reservations and we were able to get a table at 7:00pm. The Buratta (which I can't spell at this moment) was okay but I wish the tomatoes has a bit of actual seasoning. The Guac was fresh but lifeless. The drinks were strong but also $16 during happy hour. Would I come back, yes. Simply cause I've heard there brunch is good. Il report back once I try it
google avatar

Lizzy K.

Yelp
Love the new vibe from the old Tonic East, feels more homey and inviting. Drinks were strong, DJ was playing all of the Millennial hits. Didn't stay long enough to go exploring or trying new food but I look forward to coming back.
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Very vibrant bar scene for my school group. Nice area was cordoned off by the bar so that we can have a Happy Hour together! Good appetizers.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
This was a great find for me through social media. I've only gone on Tuesdays for their $5 espresso martini happy hours which lasts til 8p. Unfortunately there's not any food on the HH menu but there is a cute rooftop that is covered right now due to the weather. Was able to book tables for 8-10 friends with no issue. Servers are attentive and very sweet. The espresso martinis are not weak and actually pretty good for the price. Can easily get 5-6 when I'm there and feel good leaving! The appetizers are decent...we got the shrimp bao buns where the buns weren't super fluffy (3 buns). The corn was also too salty I think.
google avatar

Sunny C.

Yelp
This place must be new bc I feel like it should have a lot more reviews based on how great of a find this was when I stumbled in randomly on a weekday afternoon for lunch yesterday! First, the outside is quite understated and seems like your average dive bar in Murray Hill. ACTUALLY, IT IS NOT. I needed a quick lunch and peeped at the menu and honestly the prices are fantastic. Where else in Manhattan are you going to find a full burger with fries on the regular menu for $12 ?! Yeah, exactly. This place has it. There were a lot of other great selections off the menu that also seemed appealing. Inside, the place has beautiful furnishings, has a cabin-like feel to it and it's spacious with high ceilings. I think there may be an additional level to the restaurant (not sure) The bar is also gorgeous and honestly I don't have anything bad to say about this place. The Angus burger I had was excellent (again, $12 !!!! I took a photo of the receipt in case you don't believe me) which also came with a mushroom barley soup that wasn't salty or too heavy. No complaints whatsoever. The service was also fine. The only thing is that the bathroom doesn't have a mirror .. just an FYI esp for the ladies! If I lived or worked in the area, I would def go back- try it!!
google avatar

Ivan M.

Yelp
Went early Saturday. Place was empty as expected for weekend mornings. This place gets packed at night but I'm not much for fun crowds on a Friday night. Still wanted to check this place out. Try the food and have a round or two. Had the place practically to myself. Ordered my favorite morning dish Steak & eggs. They did not ask how I wanted the eggs. Just the temp for the meat. Enjoyed it very much. Even the potatoes. Delicious. Staff were very friendly. They sell swag I think. Looking forward to going back.
google avatar

Ruby I.

Yelp
Weird bouncer didn't believe my friend's ID even though it scanned ?? So weird and aggressive. I won't be coming back.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
I wish they had better veggie options. The cocktails are pretty good, and the terrace is great. Impossible/beyond - it's not that hard!
google avatar

Sabrina M.

Yelp
The rooftop here was so beautiful to enjoy our lunch under! The food was pretty good and they came with complimentary brunch drinks (I got a bloody mary and my boyfriend got a screwdriver). The food was a solid 3-4/5 but the ambiance is what really brings this to a 4/5 star restaurant. We have come here for drinks before which is also super fu. on weekends. The service was alright, nothing crazy but nothing bad either. I would recommend for brunch drinks (mimosas, bloody mary's etc) rather than for actually eating since it's more about your surroundings than the food.
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
This bar is a noticeable improvement on the old Tonic East that was here. Drink selection is good and vibe/decor feels a little classier too. Didn't have a chance to try the food or outdoor space but would come back to do so.
google avatar

Madison B.

Yelp
Yes. Here I am posting yet another review for a classic Murray hill bar spot this three level bar is awesome because of the rooftop views! Definitely go in the summer you will not be disappointed
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
One of the most special deals in all of NYC. Such amazing food with exceptional quality for a right price and great views of midtown Manhattan. I absolutely loved the vibes which were on the younger side but who can blame them! It was amazing!
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Place is spacious but little bit too loud to have conversations with peers. Maybe because it was Friday night. Food was decent. Nothing amazing. Good place to stop by for happy hour. The utensils that they brought us was bit dirty.
google avatar

Jessy M.

Yelp
Gathered here on a Saturday night for meeting friends and drinks. The bartenders were super nice and attentive and drinks were very well mixed. The place was a rustic light wood and felt very cozy not to mention the decor for Christmas, upscale for a bar. Now this place has 3 floors but never made it upstairs. The apps were very good. The downfall of this place was the music could have been more diverse. The constant tech music bored me and the group. There was 1 staff member that kept cleaning up our section when we were stepping away to get a drink or take a picture and even use the bathroom, our glassware was gone even when they were half full. It was upsetting and happened a few times. Watch your glassware and I hope when you go the music gets a tune up

Ian C.

Yelp
Good music but very rude people! A security started targeting me and my friends while we dance and wouldn't let us do a thing, we're mostly latinos so we felt very uncomfortable. A random guy was kicking my cousin's back while we were dancing, we tried to tell him to stop pacifically and he smiled and provoked us. As we tried telling security they told us they didn't see a thing and were very rude never let us dancing telling us to chill out while we we're doing nothing but trinna have some fun. Probably not coming back again!

Erin W.

Yelp
Don't waste your time, they didn't let me in even thought I'm 22!!!!! The bouncer made any excuse to not let me in
google avatar

Andy M.

Yelp
Came for the night life. Security told us to stand against a wall for the restroom on the third floor and when women walked up, he prioritized them in the line. Waited 15 minutes just to take a quick piss
google avatar

Anya H.

Yelp
Slightly too loud. Drink variety lacking but had 3 bars on all 3 floors so you don't have to wait too long for drinks Food alright, nothing special. Lots of space and was able to accommodate a small impromptu meetup there. "Rooftop" overrated lmao

Krish P.

Yelp
Krispy Reviews Espresso Martini @ Bella Union: 8 out of 10 Consistently well made espresso martinis

Najat M.

Yelp
THIS PLACE WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER IF THEY DIDN'T BLAST THE MUSIC. They have a pretty good happy hour from 4-8. The thing that people like to do during happy hour is talk ie work, boss, etc., that is not possible at Bella Union. We were literally screaming at each other and its 6pm. The prices are good for NYC, the food suites the prices, and the service is ok. Note to management: chill out with the music. No one wants to attend a raver 6pm on a Tuesday evening.....
google avatar

Janine C.

Yelp
Came to Bella union for happy hour / early dinner! For one, the view on the rooftop is amazing! They have the tables spaced out during happy hour, so it's not too crowded and everyone can take in the view. We didn't have a reservation, but the staff was able to still get us a table on the rooftop at 5:30pm on Friday if we were ordering entrees. The one disappointing part of HH was that cocktails were not included , that was a bummer. But the food and vibe was awesome, I will definitely come back - especially if I'm looking to do a wine night.
google avatar

Steven H.

Yelp
Found ourselves randomly walking down 3rd Street Midtown with our visiting photographer friend. Stopped in after walking for a million blocks as he snapped exterior building photos to his heart's content. We stopped at the sign outside stating the "rooftop is open, happy hour 4-8 pm." None words sweeter we obliged. My partner exclaimed "trash!" but we have it a chance. Up we went to the penultimate third floor rooftop. We had a couple rounds of the pretty good Aperol Spritz and some simple carbs. Margarita pizza was very plain could have been labeled cheese pizza, the crispy rice salad was good, the melted cheese sandwich was fine. Service was fast and friendly. The rooftop view was fine and it was nice out. Not sure what the theme is, saloon? Few of those around here. Rooftop 4/5 Drinks 4/5 Food 3/5 Service 5/5
google avatar

Emily K.

Yelp
Great ambience and service. The food could have been better. Our table got grilled cheese and cauliflower appetizer. The cheese on the grilled cheese wasn't melted and tomato was less than impressive. They gave a generous amount of french fries which was nice but didn't make up for the meal. Would recommend a different dish.
google avatar

Christina T.

Yelp
The whole place is a cute wholesome vibe and for the girls that want the aesthetic pics without the long wait or a huge crowd - this place it for you - but I wouldn't recommend coming here unless its only for the drinks and the ambiance. Don't expect to be impressed by the food. This was a pretty mid brunch spot honestly. The bottomless deal was actually pretty good. It consisted of unlimited bottomless of your choice of Aperol, Bellini, and Mimosa for only $25, and I don't think there was a time limit because the server kept bringing us refilled pitchers of alcohol even after 2 hours lol. The food was nothing impressive, and we got our food pretty late in - almost an hour after we ordered. Which was crazy since we were drinking so much.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
The service is good and the wings are good. It's a young crowd there on weekend evenings and the patio is good. Very busy for cocktails.

Jocelyn L.

Yelp
We had the frozen mango margarita and the sexy beast; the margarita was a little sour but still good and both drinks were stronger than anticipated which was great! We got the beef sliders with regular fries which i recommend as they are brioche buns and taste delicious. Definitely recommend checking this place out as food is good and the rooftop view is really cute!
