The 16 Best Restaurants In Palermo - Palermo - The Infatuation

"Palermo and the west aren’t traditionally strong contenders for the best granita in Sicily (compared to historic shops in Messina, Catania, and Noto), but this newly opened gelateria is ready to give the big city a fighting chance. Belli Freschi serves dairy-free granita and artisan gelato in cups and cones along with the classic Sicilian-style brioche bun, baked in-house. Ask for a rundown of their long list of seasonal options—like donut peach, mulberry, or cantaloupe—but make sure tp also try their signature granita. Eat whatever you order in their surprisingly quiet piazzetta, or on the go as you head to Piazza Bellini or Chiesa del Gesù just around the corner." - linda sarris

My favorite gelato in Palermo. Great creaminess and full taste. I think this is the best pistacchio gelato I've ever had. I also love cucumber-lemon-mint granita! They have a lot of special tastes like olive oil and arab-norman granita. They are happy to let you try whatever you want. Owner seems to be doing a good job perfecting every taste they offer. Been there few times and will come again! I recommend!

Recommended to us by a lovely chap we happened to sit next to for lunch. We went half way across Palermo to find it and we were not disappointed. It’s tucked away in a beautiful little courtyard, one of the owners will likely be outside chatting to his customers. You can’t miss it! This is the place to try granita, it will make you go ohh and mmm and look at your partner with that wow look when you taste them. The owners are both about 25 and when we went had only been open for 3 weeks. They told us all about how they made the granitas, how important the ingredients are and showed us pictures of where they had sourced them on the island. The fig and pistachio flavour is like your tasting Sicily, all the flavours and sounds of this crazy beautiful island in a single scoop. I can’t remember the names but one of the founders is the mad scientist coming up with all the crazy beautiful flavour combos and the other is the cook! Making them come to life! Together they make an incredible combination! Try the orange blossom and ask them the story of how it came about you won’t be disappointed. I hope they become world famous I really do! A wonderful, wonderful place!

Cute and fresh little place with a terrace that makes absolutely delicious artisanal granitas and ice creams. The strawberry granita was very flavourful and delicious, and the owner’s own creation, a granita with pastacchio, almond, apricot, dates and rose water (the dates and rose watee from Tunisia and the other ingredients from Sicily) was TO DIE FOR. It brought tears to my eyes! An explosion of taste, incredible texture, where the almonds were subtly present, and the right level of sweetness (read: not too much). An experience that I will not forget and will come back for! The owner is obviously passionate and rightfully (but modestly) proud of his work.

We found this gelato shop tucked away in the streets of Palermo at night and went in with no expectations, other than the glowing 5-star reviews. What a wonderful surprise! Not only is the interior design beautiful, but the gelato and granita were absolutely incredible. Literally the best I’ve tried in Palermo! The quality is outstanding, with generous portion sizes, and the granita is a perfect option for anyone who is lactose intolerant. I especially loved the pistachio flavor, which they source locally near Mount Etna. The owners were also super welcoming, taking the time to explain their creations and share their passion. They’ve only recently opened, but it’s already well worth seeking out. A must visit!

What an incredible discovery! We stumbled upon a master ice cream maker in a bar who generously let us taste his amazing ice cream — and we were instantly hooked. The next day, we visited their shop and met the owner. Both he and the ice cream master are clearly passionate about their craft. You can truly taste the result of over 50 years of perfecting their signature brioche. The ice cream is exceptional, and the brioche is out of this world. The owner was SUPER friendly and welcoming. Highly, highly recommend this place — a must-visit for any ice cream lover!

Worth the visit! Tried all their granita flavours over three days. Pistachio, Almond, Peach, Ricotta were my favorite

We were in Palermo for less than 48 hours and came here 3 times :) Their granita was so so good and something I will be dreaming of for a long time. We got the watermelon, peach, lemon and strawberry flavors - all phenomenal!

Best granita I have had in my sicilian holidays. I am always on the lookout for artisanal granitas, and this one was really great. Absolutely recommend the fig (seasonal flavor!) granita. The brioche was very fresh and soft. Top quality!
