A delicious Italian restaurant! It’s BYOB and there is a liquor / wine store next door. We came here for dinner and the food was good! They had a delicious burrata special, and the fried cheese was good too. The entree portions are large and filling. I ordered the chicken parm with vodka sauce instead of marinara. It was pretty good! Very large dish! If you’re in the area definitely check them out.

A nice Italian restaurant. We came here to celebrate a wedding anniversary and birthday. They arranged a long table and made us feel quite comfortable. Food and service were great.

I went with family for our second time and we had a nice big table in a quiet room that was perfect for the occasion. Our food was impeccable. Service was friendly, fast and efficient. Bread was perfection as our dinner was as well. We can't wait to visit again!

UPDATE - Aug 9, 2025 ———————— The story of Italian cuisine in the US begins in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, during a significant wave of Italian immigration. In cities like New York, Boston, and Chicago, Italian neighborhoods flourished, and with them, so did Italian restaurants, bakeries, and grocery stores. These establishments became not just places to eat but centers of community life where traditions could be preserved and celebrated. Opened since 2008 and located off of Kinderkamack Road in Montvale, we have decided on dinner at Bellissimo because it combines a casual vibe with magnificent Italian cooking. They have a large following, where reservation is highly recommended and was easily made via their website. Upon arrival at a packed BYOB establishment, my partner, our friends, and I were greeted by the host, Bella, and got a table right away inside the larger dining room. The menu remains extensive, as well as the daily specials that are usually creative and unique enough to cover everyone’s desire. As appetizers, we decided on Mozzarella En Carrozza and Calamari Fritti. For our meal, we opted for Veal Piccata, Stuffed Rigatoni, Eggplant Parmigiana, and one of tonight’s specials consisting of shrimp, sausages, and pasta. All meals usually came with a house salad with balsamic vinegar, but our server, Gustavo, friendly and accommodating, hooked us up with a special salad to share. Complimentary bread started our meal. Each meal was expertly prepared using the fresh ingredients into a very generous portion and reasonably priced. The food remained consistently delicious. The ever-present owner, Arti, oversees the experience by ensuring a personal visit to each table where we made small talk. The staff is quick to refill your water or get anything anyone needs. Best Italian restaurant in the area, which we can continue to recommend.

I have driven past this place for years. What a mistake. It truly has it all. Great food , service, pricing and atmosphere. Food was cooked to perfection and portions are generous. Waiter Gus was fantastic and friendly. Chicken franchaise and chicken Marsala were to die for. Shrimp parmigiana was loaded with cheese and deliciousness.

Update Feb 07, 2025 Bellisimo is a gem for anyone who appreciates delicious Italian cuisine. Every visit here is a delightful experience, thanks to their consistently flavorful dishes and excellent service. One of the highlights is their daily specials, which I highly recommend—every time I try one, it never disappoints! As someone with a dairy allergy, I appreciate that Bellisimo offers plenty of options to choose from. Their fish specials are always fresh, and they even provide a complimentary salad with meals, which is a great touch. The restaurant operates on a first-come, first-served basis, as they only take reservations for parties of five or more. However, waiting is rarely an issue since the service is efficient and well-organized. The staff is professional, attentive, and incredibly friendly, ensuring that every need is met promptly. Another great feature is that Bellisimo is BYOB, making it an ideal spot for an enjoyable night out with your favorite wine. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, though the place is quite popular, so it’s always buzzing with energy --------------- This restaurant is one of our family's favorites because of the excellent variety of specials they offer. They also have an extensive regular Italian food menu. The service is consistently great, and we always enjoy the delicious food. It is BYOD and they serve complementary salad. This place is great for parties, and they don't take reservations for less than 5 people, but it is a big place, and based on my experience, it never a long wait.

My wife and I went to Bellissimo last night for the first time. The food and service was fine, however I should point out two things. 1. Specials mentioned by the wait staff should include the pricing-should not have to be surprised when presented with the bill. 2. The atmosphere was very loud-hard to have a pleasant conversation when there was too much noise. On a positive note, the sea bass was fantastic.

The restaurant itself is very nice , some of the dishes were just plain without seasoning in particular two of the specials we order , in my case the Chops were not season enough and the breaded chicken was just that Breaded chicken with a arugula salad and the pasta on the side had no flavore either, the other dishes we had were pretty good. The staff was good but also were kind of annoyed at us trying to .add a dish from the kitchen after we had already ordered and had advice them that we had 2 guests running late , things happened but if the customers want to add a dish it should be accommodated withouth feeling as if you are imposing on their staff. The staff however after not ordering the dish was professional .

The cold appetizer special was surprisingly one of the best appetizers I ever tasted. The arugula filled plate was topped with multi colored sun dried tomatoes, cold meat and fresh mozzarella cheese. All of the chicken plates were outstanding, but my personal favorite chicken cuisine was the balsamico. The balsamic sauce blended perfectly with the poultry and vegetables. I specifically selected the lemoncello maccopone cake as this was my first time exploring this dessert. The puffy, creamy, lemony after meal was a satisfying treat. It wasn't overbearing in sweetness and flavor. Aside from the food, the service was top notch. The servers and bus boys always circulated the floor to make sure I was taken care of. They constantly kept my water glass filled and promptly removed any empty plates after each course to make room for new dishes! Alcohol is not served, but you can always BYOB. Bellissimo is a great choice for dinner, particularly if you want good food and good service with less frills. I prefer BYOB restaurants such as Bellissimo when I want to plan ahead and pick out a nice wine or beer to have with my meal. Parking can be...challenging. The lot is not very large and the adjacent lot is shared with a couple stores. We started out with the customary bread and butter and the bread was quite nice. Next was an appetizer special, polenta with sausage and broccoli rabe, which was awesome. And it was a full meal onto itself! My entrée was the veal al Antonio. It was very good but the veggie sides were skippable. I topped all that off with a nice limoncello ricotta cake and decaf cappuccino. I was stuffed. I was happy. And I'll do it again. Maybe next time with the kids????

A popular Italian restaurant in the town of Park Ridge NJ. It has a nice classy ambiance and the food is very good. BYOB, conveniently with a wine store right next door. Love that they carve out a lovely dessert plate to celebrate any special occasions.

It was ok. We were at a party in a private room. The apps were good. The pasta was served before the salad. It took a while to get more bread and grated cheese. I shouldn't have had to ask for them! The salad was wilted! My fish was hot and delicious. My husband had the veal. It was just ok. Not a big portion. Coffee was served but there was no dessert. We thought that was odd but I think it was the people who planned the party and not the restaurant.

I'll keep this stubby but sugary... Bellissimo is your level mid Italian joint in the Bergen/Rockland/Westchester. Too many good options around this stretch of the woods and Bellissimo is only solid. Nice interior, big space, multiple rooms but NOISY. If I wanted to hear the Bada of some 90 year old muffin toppers I'd go dancing at the Bing. This place is filled with oldies. I'm talking average age of 70. Median 72. Groups of 8-10 on the regular. Man... what a life to be retired and just take a 4 hour lunch at Bellissimo. Takes em' 2 hours alone to drink their soup... and they'll still say it's too hot. Of course the ratings here are through the roof, they've lost their taste buds over the years. Listen, I love the elderly. I honor them, respect them, but I'm spitting the factual truths. I'll listen though to what my grandmother says about this joint. She'll come because the space is big and she can throw bangers for her 60+ community. The food is fine and the portions are good. And there's an alcohol shop right next to it so it makes BYOB easy sleezy. Little vino makes the nonna tolerate the girls downstairs that got the pity invite ya know what I mean ladiessssss??? Tummy had some trouble 2/3 times I've ate at the joint but I finished my plate like a big boy. You can do better... but you won't cry during your experience at Bellissimo. Ciao Ciao.

We tried a couple new things on the latest visit. The Caesar salad was quite nice. Good portion, nicely dressed and very fairly priced at $7. The antipasto special was enjoyable too. 4 different salamis, burrata, roasted peppers and cannelini beans. We paired these with an order of fried calamari and made the trio a dinner for two. The calamari was lightly breaded and crisp - perfect! With crusty bread, it all came together nicely. Very enjoyable, light but filling dinner. Service was excellent and friendly as always.

This is one of my favorite italian spots in the area. As a few other reviewers have mentioned, their Chicken Parm with vodka sauce is unmatched. The normal parm is good too but their vodka sauce just takes it to another level. Came here most recently with some friends and were not disappointed. Made a last minute reservation (we were a table of 6) on a Saturday night and they were able to seat us instantly. The bread is warm and fresh and the butter was room temperature which is a nice touch. Everyone at the table ordered the Chicken Parm with vodka sauce, and we all had leftovers. Good portion size and comes with a salad, which is always good. We also ordered the calamari app and stuffed artichokes, which were so cheesey and delicious! The place is a little loud when it gets crowded but I don't mind. BYO and you will never leave hungry.

Excellent food selection and attentive staff. Really enjoyed our wedding reception dinner and had fun celebrating with friends.

For starters. . . The most extraordinary wait staff, attentive to every detail of the dining experience. Beginning with the very best bread and butter is an enticement to the further offerings. Lunch menu . . . . the best! Soups and salads that rival Tuscany's very best. Appetizers ordered today were fried calamari, Caesar salad, little neck clams oreganata, The entrees? A Paradise choice of perfection. Specialties for us, the sea bass, greens, shrimp in a scampi sauce, Verona chicken with requested extra artichokes , veal parm. . . . Beyond perfection!

Every time we dine at Bellissimo we enjoy ourselves. Great Italian service and a real authentic Italian feel. The food is consistently great. Love getting a limoncello to end the evening. Great Italian spot in Montvale always worth stopping in on a date night!

We have been coming here for several years. The food is great, the staff is friendly and professional. It's truly a pleasure dining here.

I will start by saying BYOB. That alone is good enough reason for me to want to try this place. I had 2 bottles of wines for dinner. We skipped appetizers and decided to go right to the main course. I order from the specials the Osso Buco with Gnocchi. Came in a hearty tomato sauce med acidity accompanied by steam carrots and broccoli. It was a good size portion that could technically be shared but since i was hungry and i did not eat lunch, i was able to demolish the entire plate. The veal was tender falling off the bone, very generous size piece of meat. The gnocchi was soft but with a nice bite, i would highly recommend it. I paired the Ossobuco with a Supertuscan Dojoyolo 80-san giovesse and 20 Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine had a nice balance of acidity which only made the sauce in the Ossobucco better on the palate. I did get a salad with my main course but the salad was a bit wilted. Desserts seem to be all store bought not worty of even being presented table side. I say, huge plus to BYOB+hearty main courses, skip appetizers. Go for the kill with main courses. Wife had Monk fish and sautéed shrimp with black olives and artichokes. Very good combination of flavors and textures, paired thag with a Pinot Grigio. Good size portion. Left the table very satisfied, serving was good. Did enjoy the house rustic bread which can be had with butter or olive oil.

We had a large group and the service here was very top tier. Wait staff was attentive and took orders by memory with no mistakes. All of the food here came in large portions and had very good flavor but some of the proteins were overcooked. For desert our lava cake was dry and lava less. Reco would be stick to the pasta

Dining at Bellosimo was a poor experience. The food was lousy and the service was sub par. The chicken and cheese was super saturated with salt not to mention the chicken must have been the lowest quality available. It took 1.5 hours to bring us the wrong orders and omitting certain parts of our orders. Management kept saying they were sorry but they were busy. The food took so long some of the family had to have it wrapped up and was not able to eat with the entire family. The stern and non hospitable nature of management were extraordinary fast to clear the plates from people who were not finished eating.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area. Service is always outstanding and attentive. They make you feel like family. BYOB which is great. Menu is large and they always have good specials. My favorite is the chicken vodka parm, which isn't on the menu but they make it for you if you ask. Ambiance is friendly, place gets really crowded so you must make a reservation.

This is a very consistent restaurant. Consistently great service, great food and ambiance. Priced right your dinner consists of soup, house salad, bread and entree. And you can bring your own wine! And no worries if you forget, there is a liquor store next door. Enjoy!

Went tonight for my Birthday dinner. It was amazing from bread to coffee. Had the special potato crusted sea bass which was amazing. Dessert, cheesecake so good, coffee, cappuccino was great. Can't wait to go back!

Great welcome and seating, excellent food and overall service. Only complaint was that once the food was delivered only saw the waiter or busboy perhaps once and never got grated cheese on my meal and was never asked if everything was okay or if we needed anything else and I had to flag down the waiter for another bottle of water. But, I guess, in fairness to them, it was Father's Day and packed. Luckily we were sitting outside. The dining room was wall to wall people. We've been there before and likely will go back but not on a holiday!

Very tasty food and excellent service. I had a great experience at Bellissimo. The staff was very friendly and food is great. There are a couple of staple dishes that I usually get when I try a new Italian restaurant one being the Zuppa di Pesce and the other Penne alla Vodka. I feel like these are two dishes, but not all restaurants got exactly right, and Bellissimo was right on the mark. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We also had the daily special appetizer of the stuffed artichokes which was awesome. I will definitely go back.

My wife and I waited for 45 minutes to get a table which was a bit frustrating, but it was worth the wait. I wish they took reservations! The entrees were huge portions. I ordered the chicken parm and it was phenomenal and very fairly priced. Can't wait to go back!

I went here for Valentine's Day, and it was just lovely. We got bread (warm and crispy), house salads, they poured us up some (BYOB) wine. I got the lobster ravioli and it was seriously delicious...I would highly recommend. My boyfriend got the rigatoni bolognese and he enjoyed as well. Service was shockingly super fast despite it being a very busy dinner hour. The prices were not extreme either. No complaints.

Really good waited 45 minutes at 530PM So worth the wait, eggplant rollatini and veal Piccata the girls both had Lobster Ravioli. No dessert! A couple of other choices I have to try and we will be back!!!

mediocre but wildly popular italian spot. we hadnt been to this restaurant in over 10 years and decided to check it out again. when we first walked in i was surprised by how busy this place was. please note that they dont take reservations for parties smaller than 6 so we had to wait to be seated. the staff at the front of the house were very nice and the wait went quickly. since our last visit, the restaurant has expanded. i have to say the tables are very close together and really jammed into the restaurant. this place is so busy it's almost chaotic. the service staff is really slammed and running from table trying to take orders and get food out. this definitely takes away from the dining experience. the food is just okay. I've had much better at many other places. i wanted something sweet so we ordered a lava cake for dessert. something about the temperature of the dessert made me feel like the cake was microwaved. sure enough before we left the restaurant i needed to use the bathroom. on my way to the back of the restaurant i saw the wait staff preparing coffee and all of the desserts were in pre packaged boxes and stored in the refrigerator. im glad that others are enjoying this restaurant, but it just wasn't for me. will likely not return.

Located off of Kinderkamack Road in Montvale, this establishment combines a casual atmosphere with magnificent Italian cooking. Bellissimo has a big following, so it's recommended to reserve if you can by calling their phone number, which we did for dinner tonight. It's always jammed with patrons at the host area, which is always a good sign. Upon entering, my partner, our friends and I were greeted by the staff and the owner, Tony, and were seated promptly. He even remembered where we sat two years ago. That's a great sign, showing that he cares about his customers. The menu is extensive, with soups, appetizers, salad, pasta-fish and meat, as well as daily specials that are usually creative and unique. For starters, some of us opted for tonight's special pear salad. For our main meal, we ordered a couple of tonight's specials, one consisting of stuffed veal and the other being snapper, veal piccata, veal with funghi (mushrooms), and chicken fingers with fries. All meals came with a house salad with balsamic vinegar. Complimentary bread started our meal. Some of us saved some room for dessert and ordered the tiramisu and crème brûlée cheesecake. Food is carefully prepared and detailed so that it remains consistently delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful, as we were a party of six, and they did not miss a beat from appetizers to dessert. They truly want you to enjoy your experience. Bring your choice of wines and sit back, as this is BYOB. The place has been in the top 10 of ours, so if one wants to be impressed with food and service, this is the place that we continue to recommend.

Amazing dinner and ambiance with seating outside. What we got which was great: calamari and clams for appetizers, chicken parm and gnocchi dishes for dinner.

Excellent Restaurant! The place is nicely decorated and has a beautiful separate area for small parties. The food is great. I had the Chicken Rolatini with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The chicken and the light cream sauce were absolutely delicious. The potatoes were sort of whipped and perfect with the chicken. I just had to clean my plate, it was just that good. My wife and MIL had the Rigatoni Bolanese, which was also great. My FIL had the Chicken Marsala, which was also delicious. The service was impeccable. The place is also BYOB, so feel free to bring your favorite bottle of wine. All around excellent experience, can't wait to go back.

I went to Bellissimo's not too long ago to celebrate my mom's birthday. We got stuffed rigatoni, pasta in marinara sauce, and chicken francese. I don't like giving bad reviews but the food wasn't good. The stuffed rigatoni was soggy and didn't taste good. The owner knew we were not pleased with the stuffed rigatoni and nobody ate it but still got charged for it. The best part of the meal was that their service was friendly and fast and the bread was warm and tasty. But other than that, their tomato sauce wasn't good. My daughter got the kids pasta dish and it was so much smaller than the adult size and it was very expensive. $14 for a kids pasta. The chicken francese tasted like it should have been cooked more.

Amazing hands down the food is so good - one night we had zucchini frita - delish and you must try the lemon chelo cake - never had cake like that in my life - service was good always make a reservation it's worth it.

We had a terrific meal at Bellissimo tonight. From the ease of making a reservation, to our waiting table everything went really well Our waiter, Orlando, answered all of questions and has great sense of how to manage the table. He really knew how to make sure that all of the dishes came out properly and really hot The food was really good and presented in a very appetizing manner Bellissimo is a home run! Awesome experience! We were there for a surprise celebration for our son and his fiancée's engagement. There were 9 adults and 1 baby and they accommodated us so well. We were all so impressed with this restaurant from making the reservations, to the table setup when we arrived to the entire staff of servers who were so pleasant, helpful and attentive. They made the celebration even more special. Everything ran so smoothly. They even assisted us with letting us know when the guests of honor arrived and showed them to our table where we were all waiting to capture the surprise. The food was out of this world. Everyone commented that it was the best they have had. Thank you for making this surprise celebration perfect.

We had my daughter's bridal shower here recently, the food was great, the staff were excellent, and everyone enjoyed the party! I was very happy with everything!

One of my favorite restaurants! Came here the other night for dinner after not being here in 2 years because of moving. The salad that comes prior to the entree is always so amazing! We got the regular fried calamari and an Asian inspired fried calamari which was delicious. Minor kick on the glaze but nothing too bad. I got the eggplant parmigiana which I always enjoy because it's not fried with pasta on the side. I tried some of my husbands chicken rollatini special which was also delicious. Got a bunch of cakes for dessert to share and my favorite as always was the chocolate mousse cake! I had my bridal shower here a few years ago and the service was amazing for the event. Highly recommend having your event here if having about 30 people or so as well

Excellent and consistent! Chicken Murphy is delicious. Ask them to add sausage. Ken was our server, he made our dinner a lot of fun!

Great Italian Restaurant. This was our first time at Bellissimo and we were pleasantly surprise. They don't take reservations so expect to wait especially on Saturday night. We had to wait for about an hour but it was worth it. The service was good not great but the food was amazing and it is BYOB with a liquor store right next to the restaurant. They also have small outdoor seating but it was not used when we went.

We have eaten here on a few occasions have never had a bad experience. Portions are average size but always flavourful. We've recommended it to friends.

We had a baby shower here in the private room and we had a perfect day! The food was excellent and Orlando and the team were so accommodating and helpful throughout the party. They had everything in order and were so on top of things! Thank you for helping us welcome the newest addition to our family.
