Upscale Mexican fare doesn’t get better than at this spot in The Source, where Monterrey native Manny Barella turns out not only unusually mouthwatering tacos (don’t miss the costra de ribeye or the trumpet mushroom al pastor) but also sumptuous regional specialties like the pumpkin-seed spread called sikil pak; pork chops in mole verde; and brunchtime treats such as molletes. Every last salsa is special. I don't know what this picture is.

The cocktails were delicious and very affordable during Happy Hour. We loved the taco flight, fish Veracruz, tostadas, crema and complimentary beet hummus (thank you very much). The lime dessert was divine. Our waitperson was attentive, helpful and fun. The food was EXCELLENT! So many other dishes we want to try. We will definitely return soon.

Happy hour is not to be missed. Daily from 3-6 including weekends!! Chips and salsa will not disappoint. Any of the tacos are insanely satisfying, moist and packed with flavor. We also had enchiladas, made with the same quality and farm fresh ingredients. Would definitely recommend if you’re craving Tex-mex!

Love everything about this place. Chips and the three salsa are addicting. The music in this place is always making my foot tap. Try the barbacoa on anything, so good. Located in The Source with main different shops stores and restaurants. Great place to explore before and after you eat at Bellota.

Service is friendly but not attentive. It took a while to be seated and receive our drinks, even though it wasn’t busy. It also took a while to collect the check and leave. Nevertheless the Food was amazing, beware of the red drink because it’s extremely sweet, and the churros were extra crunchy. THE BEST DISH WAS THE SHRIMP TACOS! This is a great space with outdoor seating. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re nearby.

I’m pretty split on this place. The food was hit and miss for us. Started with the quest fundido that came with soggy flour tortillas. Overall the queso was very oily and the cheese was heavy on the salt. The tortillas did nothing to balance the salty cheese and the already soggy tortillas did nothing. I asked for chips as we reached the end of our queso and it was a true game changer. This dish was kinda a salty oily mess until the crispy chips provided balance and a platform suitable to hold the cheese. Next we went on a tour of the tacos. In general the tacos are all swimming in some liquid. Either the broth, butter or juices they were cooked in or a bath of grease. The shrimp taco was the most displeasing tacos we had though. It tasted like butter with absolutely no other seasoning. Inside the half crispy and half soggy tortilla it really presented nothing in terms of flavor. On the other hand the meats in the beef barbecoa and carnitas were delicious and heavily flavored. However, they were swimming in grease and juices. Particularly the barbecoa taco meat was so good it overpowered the rest of the ingredients, it was less a taco and more just meat. Great flavor but not a cohesive dish for me. Overall, I liked the concept but don’t like how expensive each individual taco is and the level of liquids in each item.

This is definitely one of the best spots for tacos in Denver. The shrimp tacos are so fresh with each flavor shining through distinctly. The rib eye taco was equally scrumptious. We had esquite and the blue corn quesadilla as an appetizer. This was a must-try and it lived up to the hype. We will be back!

Oh look, another "Mexican" restaurant in Denver that fails miserably and makes me not want to go back..or try another Mexican place in town. I'm telling you, most restaurants here do not know to cook very well, or season their food. It's disrespectful. Bellota gets you with the menu looking decent, but it's when you start tasting the food when you realize it's just another letdown on the Mexican food I know and love so much being one of my favorite cuisines to enjoy. The star of the show was the chips and salsa (smoky morita, spicy verde, chile de arbol) and that was it. And I'm not going back to a restaurant just for their chips and salsa I'm sorry. The esquites tasted like they scooped the corn out the can and threw some added ingredients on top to church it up, not impressed. The "queso fundido" dish was a crime to order and to try- I would never consider that to be queso but hey the ethnicity isn't really here in Denver either. I got two tacos for my entree and a side of "Mexican rice" that tasted like white rice, no joke. The carnitas taco wasn't bad, but the shrimp taco was the worst one I've ever had anywhere. ANYWHERE. It's a pathetic excuse for a taco throwing shrimp in a tortilla, melting the cheese and crisping it up. It is a lazy attempt from whoever designed the menu to include a shrimp taco item and it should be taken off or revamped as soon as possible. Ate there last night, woke up today feeling very ill. Thinking I caught food poisoning but it's not the first time in Denver, nor will it be the last sadly. If you been wanting to check this place out in The Source, just go ahead and scratch it off your list I just saved you some time, money, and from getting sick. I will not be back myself to try anything else from them.

Bellota serves street style tacos and they were pretty good. We were excited to see they had cochinita pibil and it did not disappoint! The shrimp tacos were also very creamy and flavorful. The salsa tasted fresh with a pleasant kick of spice. Service was exceptional. The restaurant provides an industrial vibe and really unique. They're a bit on the pricey side but you're really paying for the vibes and I believe it's worth it.
