Where To Eat & Drink In Fredericksburg - Austin - The Infatuation

"After you’ve had your fill of the floral fabrics and corny patriotic T-shirts sold on Main Street, Belly Up Brew Pub is your next stop. The understated craft brewery and restaurant is perfect for cooling down while sampling local pours. A flight of four is a steal at $10, but the robust cocktail menu also goes bar for bar with those on Main Street a block over. While Belly Up’s sandwiches and burgers are satisfying, lighter bites are the move. This isn’t your typical bar menu—its small plates feature bacon jam ciabatta, beer-infused queso, hot-sauce-grilled shrimp, and a sausage platter that puts your local biergarten to shame. Come for a glass of peach ale and a side or two, enjoyed among charming Western decor that doesn’t succumb to Amazon-ified kitschiness." - samantha grasso

Google
Found this hidden gem off the beaten path in Fredericksburg. I typed in "cold beer near me", and this place popped up. I'm really glad we decided to try it! The beer did not disappoint! We tried 2 of their beers that they brew, I had a double IPA and my husband tried the red. Both were delicious! But the best part was the food! I had one of the best Philly cheesesteaks I've ever had! The may was delicious, the cheese was gooey and the perfect amount, and the peppers made for the perfect heat! My husband eats french dips a lot and said his was the best he's ever had! We will definitely be returning to this place whenever we visit Fredericksburg!

Google
Excellent location and vibe in this place. Their beers were phenomenal and ice cold. We tried their Porter and a Blood Orange wheat beer both of them a home run. We didn't try their food as we just finished eating somewhere else however we will be back for a snack for sure. Overall a great experience.

Google
What a wonderful addition this restaurant is to downtown Fredericksburg. We had a wonderful Smashburger and very delicious Salad with perfectly grilled chicken. The beer we had was refreshing, referred by our awesome waitress, the Peach Wheat was a very pleasant surprise. I will definitely be back to try out more items from this delightful place.

Just staying one night in Fredericksburg, and we stopped here for dinner and drinks. Everyone was so nice, and the food was yummy. The food came in large portions and is definitely worth the price. I would love to come back here!

Google
This was a great experience for an impromptu lunch location. Googled restaurants in the area, settled on this one, and was not disappointed. My boyfriend said the burger he got was the best burger he's had in a long time and my veggie sandwich was delicious! We both had a mixed drink a piece abs I highly recommend the peach mule! 10 out of 10 recommend!

Visit Fburg frequently. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, middle of April, one block south from Main on S Llano, 1 or 2 year old place. Inside is a little small with a nice bar, seating, and TVs, large outside biergarten space with picnic tables, string lights, and corn hole. Food menu sports sandwiches, salads, and burgers. About 10 brews on tap that get changed out. Wife and I had flights to begin with (blood orange, peacan porter, double ipa, & amber), ending with a pint of Peach Wheat. Good vibe, great service, fun time. Belly Up is now on our frequent list whenever we visit.

Yelp
Had a Fabulous Turkey Sandwich, smoked in house, large portion, it was great! The beer was cold and tasty! We had the fresh brewed Mexican style beer. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great beer. Good food. Right off the main drag. Will certainly stop by again when we're in Fredericksburg

Yelp
Nice place on a side street the casual passer by never goes down. I found it in Yelp and it had positive reviews so I walked a half mile there. I had a vanilla porter on tap and it was great. Perfect temperature and very enjoyable. I also had the Cesar salad with a piece of grilled chicken on top. I'm not sure what the dressing is but there was NO BITE to it. There was no Parmesan in the salad but clumps in something else kinda like crumbled feta. The chicken tasted Like mystery meat, kinda pressed like a nugget, grilled and sliced. I'm really not sure about it but it tasted ok and it was safe. The atmosphere was great, bar tender great and place was cool. I will go back but not for the same food I picked. (Guess I should have read more details on the menu) Service was solid. I was in and out enjoyably fast.

Yelp
We have been here twice in the last few months and this is our new go to spot when we come to Fredericksburg. The food, the service, and the atmosphere of the place is all great. You can't beat sit back and have drinks, watch sports, and eat great food. Queso with salsa is highly recommended and Nashville hot shrimp are out of this world.

Yelp
My rating is a 4.5. While visiting Fredericksburg we decided to eat before heading back to Austin. I found this place on Yelp and we had a great experience. There were 5 of us and the weather was perfect to sit outdoors. Our server was quick and friendly despite it being busy. We ordered the French Dip, their special which was a tri tip sandwich, a grill cheese, nachos & the taco salad. The sandwiches were one of the best we have tried all 5 stars. The taco salad was a little different but my daughter said it was good, a 4 star. The nachos could have been a little better. My father had them heat it up that was only a 3 star. The server was a 5 star and the place itself was a 5 star with lovely stinging lights outside. Bathrooms were very clean. I would definitely recommend this place

Yelp
Went in tonight for dinner. We had peach margaritas & my sister had hers spicy. Tasty We split the carnitas nachos & was a lot. Fresh chips, queso, pork, black olives, jalapeños, & had a sour cream on the top. Fresh guacamole & salsa came with it. It was filling so we opted to spilt a meal. Tara was our waitress & was awesome! She got us a sample of the Hawaiian macaroni salad (sweet) & unusual as it had sausage in it. She suggested the French Dip. With a side salad with buttermilk ranch. BIG sandwich on ciabatta bread, roasted tri tip, beer braised onions, provolone, & horseradish mayo. It was a good meal & great service! Sorry. Hungry. Yelp
Fun, new brewpub in FBG. Small interior with 3 TVs, nice sized patio. They have 4 or 5 house brews on tap + 3-4 additional area brews. Their porter had a good flavor profile. Their honey blonde was my fave. Food wise, the Brew Pub Sausage Board was outstanding. I'll be back to try their "Big Jam" burger. Our server Eric gave us the white glove treatment.

Yelp
Found this on yelp with great reviews so we went and tried it out today for lunch. It did not disappoint. We ordered the cali copycat burger, hill country reuben and they were tasty. The hostess was nice and accommodating. Ambiance has a chill vibe. Not very spacious inside but it holds decent number of customers. Also, there is an outdoor seating if you prefer that. Great stop for lunch.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite places in Fredericksburg! The staff is friendly. We met the owner and she was a wealth of information on what to do in the area. I had the caramel apple sangria which was delicious. My husband tried a few of the home-brewed beer. We also had the sausage platter... which left us both stuffed! Different sausages, bacon jam, bavarian pretzel, dill pickles and pickled green beans... yum! Definitely put this on your "hit list" when you're in Fredericksburg!

Katie M.

Yelp
This place was so charming and the food was delicious. The brewed in house beers were fantastic. The place heavily achieves the gastro pub vibes. Prices were very reasonable. The sausage board was amazing and definitely worth the try. This place is perfect for small groups (2-6). The music was at a perfect volume and very fitting for the place. Lastly it has a super clean out door seating area!

Yelp
Popped in for a late lunch/ early dinner and sat on the patio with our pup. We started with a beer flight to decide on the beer of choice and the amber won. My wife had the Grilled Cheese and the Macaroni salad and she loved both. I Had the Sonoran Cheese Steak which was amazing. I chose the potato salad which was very good but my wife's Macaroni salad was amazing. Belly Up Brew is also connected to Granite House and Sunset Grill which we also dined at and loved. Try them all you won't regret it!!

Yelp
had the CopyCat burger with thick patty cooked perfectly (not pink). threbrioch bun held the burger together wonderfully. had a side order of their in-house potato salad and loved it. Tried the Irish stout beer and wanted more. they have a large patio for the kids with plenty of parking. Most of the guests were repeat customers, so they must be doing the right thing. we will be returning next week and hope to try a flight of all their beers. wonderful small batch craft brew !!

Yelp
Decided to try this place kind of off the main drag. We had their special of the day which was a jalapeño cheddar smash burger and margarita. Everything was very good. The burgers were huge, messy and tasty! Will definitely go back. Their menu sounds great! Service was quick and friendly.
google avatar

Melissa P.

Yelp
They had literally the most delicious french dip sandwich that I have ever had! We sat on the back deck with our 2 dogs. The staffwas very friendly. I had wine and my husband had a mixed drink!
google avatar

Laurel S.

Yelp
Loved this little gem! Had the cocktail special which was a delicious fall sangria and shared the bacon jam ciabatta bread app which was absolutely heaven!!! For dinner shared a reuben and it was really good too. Would have loved some fries but I'm guessing based on menu that there is no fryer. StI'll dreaming about the bacon jam ciabatta bread!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
A small brewery but I highly recommend it. Tara, often found behind the bars husband is the beer master. He has created some great brews. It is honestly my local favorite. A great menu, and the owner is always improving it.

Yelp
Very nice Brew Pub just off Main St. We did not order any food but everything looked and smelled amazing! Oh, the burgers looked gigantic and outstanding! The French dip could easily be shared. As a matter of fact, most of the dishes that cruised by us looked like they could easily feed 2. They had a few of their craft beers available and a few guest taps. I ordered their honey blonde which was perfect on a hot afternoon. Not a beer drinker well there are wine and liquor options for you. Service at the bar was friendly and excellent.

Yelp
Good food, the Arugula salad and the Veggie sandwich (side of potato salad) are the bomb. The service is always hopping.

Yelp
Chill and relax time with friendly staff, tasty drinks, and delicious food. After visiting a nearby winery in Hye, we checked into our hotel in Fredericksburg and hit up Main St to get our annual dose of the local shops and breweries. After stopping by our usuals, we wanted to try some place new to us. Glad we did. First, cool environment, temp and vibe, which was a nice welcome from the outside heat. It was our bartender's first day, but clearly not as a bartender. She was well-versed in service, and so was the male bartender. After sampling a few of their brewery beers, we combined 2 of them for a solid afternoon refresher. We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and Kids Cheeseburger with macaroni salad and potato salad to go. The sandwiches were good, especially the Philly cheesesteak, which had an ample amount of meat, but I wish fries were offered as an option. Finally, they offer an outdoor area, but it was way too hot with little shading to enjoy it. I did see a couple of families out there, though. We look forward to visiting again.

Yelp
There's a nice outdoor space if youre looking for dog friendly places. The sandwiches and burgers are huge. I had the veggie sandwich and didnt realize how much onions they would put in it...prices are kinda high but consistent with Fredericksburg pricing!

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about the food , is over the top delicious. Happy hour 3-5 daily , except Sunday. Started with the spicy shrimp and I'll never forget it, wish I had a bowl of grits to pour that saucy shrimp all over. We dipped the soft crunchy bread pieces and devoured them with shrimp on top. Then poured the last drippings of the sauce over the Copy Cat burger we shared, it was cooked to perfection and topped with meaty cheese carmelized onions and smoked bacon, yummmmm. The Brewpub sausage board is a must, it's warm charcuterie with Queso, the BEST bacon jam I've ever eaten , grainy mustard and pickled green beans. I had the Special cocktail "Pain Killer " and can just imagine a sunny day on the patio sipping those. You won't go wrong at this Pub, enjoy all they have

Yelp
Lively new brewpub in Fredericksburg with indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of food options. They also serve wine and mixed drinks. Right now they have only two house beers on tap (alongside 5-6 guest taps) but more are on the way. Their first two creations were impressive - a handsome pecan porter with a frothy brown head, and a mango wheat beer. I'm usually not into fruity or wheat beers, but I really enjoyed the mango wheat - crisp and refreshing and not at all cloying. Like spring in a glass! The Southern shrimp dip, served with tortilla chips and soft pretzel bites, reminded me of spinach artichoke dip. We wished for a few more chips but it was delicious. Spice lovers will enjoy the Nashville shrimp appetizer, served with warm slices of baguette. Happy hour specials 3-5 every day except Sunday!

Megan L.

Yelp
The sausage board was quite good, especially the sauerkraut and hot pickled green beans. But we were surprised how uninteresting the reuben and French dip sandwiches were. They were good, but not great in any respect. If we hadn't been so hungry we probably would have left half uneaten. And both the Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc were the most flavorless wines we've ever tasted. Loved the ambiance outside though!

Michael W.

Yelp
Sometimes, just sometimes, you find a place where everything is great. This was that place. I spent the whole day bloated because I ate way too much here. Apps, entrees, drinks.... All were great. Now a note to the owners. You can only get by on great food for so long. Service is just as important. My server was Promise. She was amazing. And the fella (beau or Bo, not sure of spelling) that would help her when she was busy was just as amazing. your hiring is just as awesome as your cooking. Don't lose either and you will have this customer as long as you are open!

Kathi S.

Yelp
What a beautiful night to sit outside and enjoy a beer and appetizer. Atmosphere is great outside, music is fabulous and the waitstaff is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
Great food, you look online and think just typical bar food and then you come in and get the beer queso and you head explodes. I got a cat burger and I am particular on cooking the onions but this burger was off the chain. Absolutely love the food. We haven't started with the Beer. Wow, I had the Coffee Pecan Porter and am hooked. Best Porter in Fredericksburg. This place is absolutely the best here.

Yelp
Visiting Fredericksburg for a couple days and got in on the later side and was looking for a quick bite to eat. Belly Up Brew Pub did not disappoint. Food and beer were both solid. My party really liked the Sausage Board. The server was a Fredericksburg native and offered lots of local recommendations for our first time in town. Inside was very small and cozy. Definitely worth a visit.
google avatar

Tonya T.

Yelp
I had the Big Jam burger, with deviled egg potato salad. I HIGHLY recommend the Big Jam burger. It has blue cheese that is tamed by the bacon jam, making it one of my favorite burger experiences of all time! The deviled egg potato salad was mayo based and very good, however I prefer a mustard based potato salad so wasn't my favorite. The Belly Up Shovelhead Amber beer was delicious. Run don't walk!

Yelp
My hubby and I visited Fredericksburg recently and went to this little pub. Amazing place!!! I really enjoyed their beer on draft. Food and service were awesome. We will definitely go back when we visit again.

Kim L.

Yelp
Great and diverse food and a nice beer selection, some made locally. Friendly service and good vibe off the tourist Main Street.

Chip M.

Yelp
Whoa Nellie - looked for a small off Main Street place to eat and hit the jackpot! Eric and team were awesome in this hidden gem. French dip and mega dog were top shelf along with Belly Up beers! Highly recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
So..... We went to Belly Up Brew Pub based on the Yelp reviews. Guess what? They were all right. Great place. We sat outside, enjoying the weather and the hospitality. Food was amazing. We did a sausage board and Spinach Artichoke dip. Both were delicious and amazing. Staff was in point and did a great job. We highly recommend it.

Leonard S.

Yelp
Best Burgers & Brews in town. Fresh ground meat . Great salads & desserts. Great atmosphere to hang out
google avatar

Joel B.

Yelp
Enjoyed a flight and the happy hour Tex Mex dog. Peach Wheat best of the bunch, coffee porter was good too. Biggest surprise was the dog. Large all beef quarter pound, cheese, chili and jalapeños. The side macaroni salad with bits of sausage was excellent.
google avatar

Renee S.

Yelp
Thank you Tammy for the excellent service, good beer and the blackberry martini. Love the Kobe dog with chili and queso, love the Mac salad to go with it.

Mia B.

Yelp
Perfect lunch spot with great beer. The brisket sandwich is super tasty. Great vibe too.
google avatar

Reatha S.

Yelp
I had the Grilled cheese with bacon jam and deviled egg potato salad Delicious! I also had the pretzel with beer cheese and the Texas Coffee Pecan beer. The beer was out of this world!!

Paul M.

Yelp
I visited on a Thursday evening for a quick bite to eat; I heard very favorable reviews of this establishment. I wasn't disappointed! The hospitality is top-notch! Very personable server - friendly and attentive. The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable; you definitely get your money's worth @BUBP. It has a great atmosphere and, despite being a smaller space, appears warm & inviting! The place was full when I arrived so I chose to sit at the bar. Even the clientele are engaging, offering their favorites off the menu!!! I made a great choice for dining and Belly Up Brew Pub did not disappoint!!! Kudos to the owners and staff! I will definitely return!!!

Olivia T.

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch, has great outdoor space. Also, good craft beer. I got the brisket sandwich special, which the brisket had a perfect crispiness to the meat. My husband got the San Antonio dog, and we shared. It was super delicious! We are craft beer snobs, and it did not disappoint! We had the Bellyup Shovelhead amber, ok...we had two! Great service that left us needing nothing! We even bought the merch!
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Belly Up with some friends to give it a try. We started with some beer and the two beers made in house were amazing. The bar food style menu was not too small and not overwhelming. We tried a few of the sandwiches, all of which were delicious. The server, Pamela, was great. Her service was right on and she was a lot of fun. She took our humor and dished it right back. The inside felt a bit like Cheers but with a Texas kick and there was a nice outdoor patio that would be nice for families or larger groups. We will definitely be back. This will likely become a regular night out for my wife and I.

David J.

Yelp
Great food and good beer! Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed! I had The Cali Copycat Burger. I would definitely order it again.

Mike G.

Yelp
Beer was really good full of flavor and refreshing. I highly recommend the shrimp it was delicious as was the green sauce and bread that it's served with. The wait staff was great!

Chase M.

Yelp
Great vibes and food! Grabbed a few recommended beers to go and they were great! Awesome service.

Bmd D.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp and it didn't disappoint! Great beer and food. The Santa Fe Cheesesteak and Veggie Sandwich were wonderful! Check it out if you are in FBG, TX!
google avatar

William D.

Yelp
Great experience! The food was outstanding! We ordered the Nashville shrimp for an appetizer and they were super good. My wife had the chicken burger and loved it. I had the Cali burger and was solid. The Mexican larger was good as well. Junior did a great good waiting on us. 5 star experience!!

Tanya W.

Yelp
Excellent! The burgers and sandwiches are huge! Craft beer. Nice outdoor seating. Prompt, attentive and friendly service.

Yelp
Fantastic place. One of those places we have been waiting for. Their own beers and local beers, full bar.. good food.

Alexis L.

Yelp
Food was so good! Our waiter was nice and helpful, inside is small but still super cute.
