Revered by NJ.com and The New York Times for its clean sands and friendly, small-town feel, Belmar Beach is a favorite among families and surfers alike. The town’s commitment to accessibility and sustainability is clear throughout, from beach wheelchairs to eco-friendly initiatives. Locally owned snack shacks and surf shops line the boardwalk, and the strong sense of community is evident at weekly farmers markets and seasonal festivals. The surf here is reliably good, and lifeguards are attentive—making Belmar a safe, welcoming choice for all ages.

Belmar Beach is one of those Jersey Shore spots that hits the perfect balance between fun and relaxation. The beach is wide, super clean, and well-kept, with soft sand and clear water that’s great for swimming or just kicking back with a chair and umbrella. The boardwalk is simple but perfect for a stroll—lots of spots for ice cream, pizza, and coffee with an ocean view. There’s a friendly, laid-back vibe here that makes it easy to spend the whole day. Parking can fill up fast on weekends, but if you come early, it’s no problem. Lifeguards are always on duty, and the town keeps everything well organized. It’s also family-friendly, so it’s an easy pick for a beach day with kids. You can’t go wrong with a summer day at Belmar—relaxed crowd, great views, and that true Jersey Shore energy without the over-the-top chaos.

Belmar is one of my absolute favorite places to enjoy the Jersey Shore. I love that there is ample free parking walking distance from the beach (if you know where to look and get there early enough) and I also love how they allow military families free access to the beach with the showing of proper identification. Sand feels great between your toes, beaches are properly flagged, and life guards really do their due diligence in letting swimmers know the water conditions. As far as the town goes, there are many great little eateries along Ocean Ave, as well as plenty of public bathrooms along their impeccably clean composite boardwalk. Belmar will continue to be my town of choice when visiting the shore during the summer months.

I love visiting Belmar in the afternoon when the tide is low. The long walks at sunset are perfect, the waves are just right, and the water is exactly what I need to relax and recharge after a hectic work day. 🌊✨

Belmar is great! Mostly a younger crowd at beach. Arrive early to get parking or afternoon. The home of Play bowl. Also other nice places to dine.

Beautiful beach in North Jersey. Beach passes are 12$ for an adult day pass and the beach has life guards. Kids 13 and under veterans are free. Beach passes are purchased with a QR code on the boardwalk and paid online. Parking is 2$ per hour and purchased with the ParkMobile app. There is also a playground area in the 12th st area. They have bathrooms at 5th, 8th, 11th, 16th and 19th St's.

Omg! I went to the Seafood Festival in Belmar this weekend, and what an amazing time I had. It is by far the best festival I have attended. There were plenty of porta potty everywhere. The variety of food was a delight, and the seafood was beyond what I expected, and the prices were reasonable. They had plenty of DPW employees there cleaning and removing garbage from everywhere. There was plenty of seating, vendors, and security. Enjoyed every minute of it! Will definitely be back next year!! Thank you, Belmar!

Beautiful place to relax, especially closer to Spring Lake area. In love with those moody swans at the lake and gorgeous sunsets🌅
