Fantastic area and view from seat. Absolute rip off for food and drink. 38 dollars for 2 beers.

Saw a Busya Rhymes, Ciara, & Missy Elliot concert!! #Phenomenal!! Got some great pics and videos too! Depending on the quality of your camera your seats truly won't matter!! #Samsung #Note22Ultra #SamsungNote22Ultra

Amazing, of course!! SOLD OUR CONCERT BY CARIMI. IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO BE THERE. I had the pleasure to experience the Dime private section and it's worth it. Bathroom cleanest I have ever seen in public place. Line for drink was short. Tap water was freeeeeeee 🥲 yes, I got so thirsty I forgot to be specific 😅 and when I was done she said it's free. I realized 😳 must be tap, although it did not taste like it thooooooo 🤯. I am telling yall must must must experience that kind of luxury at least once in a lifetime. ONLY DOWN SIDE WAS I WHICH I TOOK A LYFT AND AVOIDED THE LONG TO MY CAR. OTHER THAN THAT AMAZING.

I never been YET, however, I have never missed my most popular race The Belmont Stakes! My favorite 3, Kentucky Derby then comes The Preakness and then my personal favorite The Belmont Stakes! Longest of the three tracks at 11/2 mile track which not every horse can do!

Google
Beautiful track, friendly staff, only gone on Belmont day lots of food people. Feels very historical and classic. Lots of nice spots where you can go and have plenty of quiet and space. It’s all around a great day at the track on Belmont day. Did I mention the food truck festival on Belmont day?

Google
An incredible statue. Unfortunately racing was cancelled due to Canadian wild fires, but we were able to walk around and buy souvenirs. Even better when there is racing going on!

Google
Great place to see a show or hockey game. Recommend mass transit. Entering and exiting is slow. Allow extra time to arrive. $40 to park. LIRR goes right to parking lot.

Laura

Google
So much fun to go to the racetrack! Wonderful to see the horses to watch the race to enjoy a delicious warm pretzel. The people who took the bets were very patient with my silly questions and were patient and helpful. The only negative that blew my mind was that a small bottle of water was $5.00. But I would absolutely go again.

Yelp
We went for Belmont Uncorked wine tasting event in May 22022. They televised all the Preakness events. It's such a good way to spend the day. They also had live Belmont horse race n we were able make bets and watch the races. I even won a couple of bucks!! Woo hoo. I didn't want to drive, since I'll be drinking so took the LIRR, they have a special Belmont stop, so it was easy. You can bring your own cooler, as long as it's no glass container, so Pack yr beer can, rosé cans etc. Try it next time.

Yelp
When you are at the racetrack remember to say "Let's get it". I have been to Aqueduct before but this is one of the best tracks ever. Back in the days , you could bring in almost anything and everything in the picnic area , not as much I guess now but still cool, remember to study the horse racing guide and try to pick some winners. You could even spread around $5 in different types of bets and get a good payday. If you do order food here, you can get some really great sandwiches and enjoy a beer or two while looking at the ponies. Also, don't always be too afraid of betting a long shot. The horse that might be listed at 82 to 1 I mean you never know. The horse honestly does not know the odds are against him. He might fuck around and win you some money. The $2 bet you place on the horse Rogue Agent just because you like the name can give you $164 in your pocket. Horse shocks everyone , then say Let's get it. If you see someone bet a $1000 on one just regular race at the window , just try to go along. They might know exactly what they are talking about , just bet something reasonable. Enjoy yourself at Belmont Park. Get yourself a few more beers with all the money you could win, betting on exactas, tricfectas and parlay bets even on different tracks around the world.

Yelp
Lee and I spent a gorgeous early fall Saturday volunteering the NY State Brewery Association at Belmont Park. Though a mere 18 minutes or so from our house, I admit that I can't even remember the last time that I was there. Or in Elmont for any other reason than to grab pizza at King Umberto's or because of turning in the wrong direction while leaving Plattduetsche. But I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the grounds were and how large the park really was. There were many areas to relax with friends or family, tables with umbrellas and benches scattered around and lots of shade. But Belmont is nowhere near as grand and elegant as Saratoga Springs with her red and white stripes. I don't like the idea of horse racing and tried not to look over at the races. I'm positive that these thoroughbred investments are exceptionally well cared for, but I don't like anything about using animals for entertainment or encouraging people to gamble.

Yelp
Belmont Park is a beautiful raceway and it's not a far ride from home! We love coming here! Even if you don't gamble you can enjoy a nice relaxing day and watch these magnificent horses and jockeys . Today was our first time back since COVID! The admission and parking is just $5 each and $10 parking for the Clubhouse. They have been doing a lot of renovations this year . They have built a new sports stadium and are now working on a parking garage . I'm sad to say that the beautiful backyard picnic area has been slashed to a smaller space with many trees removed , which is a shame . As the work is on- going I'm hoping that they have some plans to expand and restore some of the picnic area ! The building is big , spacious , old and has a-lot of character. If you like, bring your own food and drinks (no glass bottles ) . There are plenty of benches and tables to sit at , or bring your own chairs. There are huge screens and monitors throughout the park so you can watch the races . You can also sit in the grandstands and view the entire racetrack from there . If you don't bring your own food you will find there are a variety of places to eat . There's a concession stand selling hotdogs and fries and on the second , third and fourth floors ( Clubhouses ) , pizza , burgers , tacos , sandwiches and full bars and more . Go , enjoy an exciting day and experience the atmosphere and excitement of the races !

Yelp
Win, Place or Show?! Depends on what you want to pay. So I've only been here for the Belmont. It's a bit of chaos but fun. You get your normal crew of drunks who partied too early and surely weren't there for the races and mix of avid horse betting people. I'm a once a year or so (yup- this race) participant. Unless I go home to Saratoga in August, which is quite smaller and a different experience, so if you have he chance do that too!! Our friend gets annual seats. We were in section 2N - just before the finish mine and the perfect height to see. The only negative about this track is that it is so long that it's hard to get any grasp of what's going on on the backstretch. If you go for the Belmont it's all about the overall experience and excitement. If you're lucky and it's a Triple Crown year- then it's really crazy and fun!!

Yelp
It had been a while since I had visited Belmont. We came here for the LI craft beer festival and it was a nice change to be in the clubhouse. Great views of the track, great concessions. The floor we were on was spacious enough to fit everybody alongside vendors. The only issue was the parking. Since races were still taking place parking filled up quick. We ended up in the blue lot which was a bit of a walk back. Nothing crazy, just walked over some sand from time to time. But the parking situation could definitely be approved - especially the road to get into the gates off Hempstead Turnpike. We waited for the light 4 times before we could eventually get in.

Yelp
Used to come here ALL THE TIME when my kids were little. Sundays was Family Day and had pony rides, face painting and bouncy houses. The kids are all grown up now, but we still return on Sundays. Surprised that the cooler policy has changed and that alcohol in large coolers is no longer allowed except for in the Top of the Stretch area, which costs $15/person BUT guarantees you a picnic table with umbrella. Long story short, had a discrepancy but Brett at customer service (along with the sweet girl who recently graduated from Oneonta) helped us out with smiles. Thanks

Yelp
Memorial Day 2017 at Belmont Racetrack. It's so exciting! (You may skip this historical paragraph): I literally grew up on a horse farm in Santa Cruz North Trinidad (and Tobago). Well technically it was about a mile away from our house, but my brother and I were friends with the owner's son so we'd spend much of our free time there. I like the big dogs (horses) but wouldn't/couldn't touch them. My one experience riding grandaddy Freedom's donkey is another story which left me a bit afraid of these creatures. Today at Belmont race track, the sight and smell brought back the sweetest nostalgia and I can't for life imagine why I never came here before! It was so exciting seeing Jockeys "show off" in the corral prior to races. Many times the owners/trainers were with them and I couldn't tell which was which. They say owners and pets resemble after a while hahaha. When a race is being run the atmosphere here is so super charged that I found myself screaming along with others "come on 4! Come on 4!!!" when I didn't even bet. The grounds at the front is a lovely picnic area and as it's a nice day many groups of family and friends are there, being entertained by a roving trumpeter. Alcohol is allowed but no glass bottles. Smoking is allowed but of course only on the grounds. Staff here are very polite and amiable even with a large crowd. One of the cashiers was kind enough to reheat my 7/11coffee for me. Day 2: A bit cloudy but beautiful just the same. It's a wonderful place to visit with your peeps. I'm even learning about baseball as *Syndergaard* the horse is a favorite today. However, *T Loves a Fight* ridden by Kendrick Carmouche, trained by Michael E. Hushion rode away with the trophy purse of $125,000 for this one. Wowzah! Short men CAN jump. This is Knycky-Freeyah reporting live from Belmont Park. The End

Yelp
Didnt have popcorn. Very little food options. I hate the fact that this place is trying to push you to switch to using the monitors to purchase/ make bets rather than having an actual person taking your bets. The betting windows are very inconveniently placed especially if you're seating in the clubhouse section.

Yelp
Another great day at the park, celebrating my good friend Dave's birthday. And it also was nice to hit a trifecta. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Yelp
Slow and steady horse bets win in the long haul. Get yourself a program book- understand how to place bets on win, place, show. If you want to get fancy-box some horses. I came out slightly ahead but it was a fun day at the track. Admission tickets are $5 or $4 if you took the LIRR. I highly recommend bringing a cooler of drinks/food. The food options are okay-but you are paying stadium prices. Staff are friendly and it's a highly enjoyable time especially when your horse wins. Attire- dress up if you like. Certain sections have dress codes. In the general grandstand- I seen tshirts, shorts, flip flops. However, it might be different on the big race day.

Yelp
It's a park, so I can get the sun. There's gambling so the SO is happy. Win win. Alas, the season has ended until October. If you didn't already know, parking is 3$ and 5$ entrance fee. The park, has benches and tvs to watch the races. Picnic tables, there's food for sale, beers, frozen drinks and snacks. There's sun, shade and you can watch the races inside if you prefer, and right against the track for ambience. Overall it's a great day. Bring a cooler, your own food if you prefer, no glass bottles please. Races you can bet 50 cents and up.

Yelp
I love coming to Belmont Park, especially in the warmer weather.I always liked to see the families and novice betters, people having a picnic in the back and the live music. The food is always good there especially when you win..The Club House has a nice menu and you can bet while you eat. As racetracks go this is a beautiful park and a great place to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere... Belmont Park ups the ante when there are big races there, many food carts and musicians, when the Park is crowded when there are big events there it's a whole different vibe, besides the usual bettors there are many more women and families as well... Belmont Park has many machines to bet on as well as the tellers, which I have to say I always found most of them to be very nice... I read in the future Belmont Park will be renovated and the NY. Islanders will have a new hockey arena there...along with better restaurants and more stores....

Yelp
If you are looking to have the most enjoyable day ever, come here. If you love to relax in the sun, come here. If you love to gamble, come here. If you love to drink beer or smoke cigarettes/cigars, come here. I had such an amazing time, I can't believe I'd never been before, because I WAS BORN for the track. I'm actually glad I don't live in Long Island or Queens, because I'd have to quit my job and come here every day instead. The crowd is friendly and figuring out the betting is pretty easy. Picking the right horse is not that easy. Here are my Pro tips (after one visit) for having the best day at Belmont ever: - Make sure the weather forecast is nice and bring sunscreen and a hat. - Invest* in a cooler with wheels and bring your own beer. You can buy beer there, but it's pretty expensive. Bring sandwiches too. - Bring a blanket and lay out in the grass. - Take the LIRR ($14 roundtrip), especially if you're drinking. - Buy a $3 program and plan your bets wisely. - Bring your kids. In fact, bring your entire extended family. There is ample room for large groups and it's a pretty family oriented environment. - Bet one of the favored horses to Show (coming in 1,2,or 3), one of the least favored horses to place (coming in 1 or 2), and if you have a good feeling pick one horse to win. - Exacta box bets are IMPOSSIBLE to win. *This may turn out to be the best thing you buy all year. No longer will you be in need of a friend to help you carry your cooler. You and your cooler can take over the world..... all on your own.

Yelp
My friend invited me to Belmont a few Sundays back. This was my third time at the racetrack. I'm going to share all of my experiences in this review. The first time I went I was really amazed by the experience. I met up with some family and friends that were going to be there. I was amazed by the cost. I'm not sure exactly how much it cost to get in but I remember that it was cheap (less than $5 I believe- even less if you go later on in the day) to get in. You can bring your own food and drinks in. We were stocked up with foods and beverages. I loved this. The second time I went to Belmont was for a wing tasting / beer sampling event last year. I had a really nice time at the event. The wings were plentiful and the beer was flowing. When the event was winding down we placed a bet on one of the horse races but didn't win. It was very exciting though. The third time I went was a few weeks ago. My friend invited me to go to a fundraiser with food a beer so I hopped on the invite. We were in a section that was like a picnic area right next to the track. That was very chill. Altogether it was a very nice day. I feel like the Belmont Track is one of Long Island's best kept secrets. It's cheap to get in and you can bring in food and drink. I've always been excited by the races and won the most recent trip, which was awesome. I'd recommend planning to spend a day there because you'll probably enjoy the experience.

Yelp
Sunday race, ooh yeah^o^ We bought cooler, drinks, snacks n sandwiches before going there. It's awesome place, very large outside area, beautiful clean lawns with picnic tables for family or groups, many benches with outside watching screens. This place is tremendous, with many tickets registers, atm, clean restrooms ( this is very important to me ...), bars etc. It was really hot, almost 100F that day, we were sweaty even just sitting under the shade. There's no air con even inside of the building, so prepare enough water and bring your own cooler, protect yourself with sunscreen and cap. We won a bit money after 7 rounds race, was a funday!

Yelp
It's a Kiwanis race day. We had a picnic area at the top of the stretch and everyone had a great time. The crew from NYRA cold not be any more helpful to us insuring that we had everything we needed to enjoy the day. There were 10 race and everyone had a fun time betting (and losing). Race 2 was named for our Kiwanis and they took a picture of our group in the winner's circle. A special thank you to the track staff who took us to the area where we were able to park our cars and easily unload them. The track and surrounding areas were well kept and very clean. This is definitely a fun way to spend the day.

Yelp
Very rude workers was trying to get information about a bet n she's like you didn't win I'm like I know but can you explain how the ticket has it listed like if u did not want to answer questions don't work here

Yelp
The 147th Running of the Belmont Stakes (Gr 1)! Belmont is the classiest racetrack I've been at, but then I like stately green trees, ivy covered brick, coliseum risers around the paddock, new technology (great betting machines) mixed in with tradition (alert, friendly, efficient cashiers). The numerous smaller monitors placed around the outside picnic area are helpful and readable from more angles than just bigger screens. Clean and comfortable bench seating in the grandstand trackside. Just saw American Pharoah hit the go-button down the final stretch and literally pull away from the powerful challengers in yet another gear and a full strong heart to win the Belmont Stakes and the Triple Crown! Docked 1 star due to the poorly orchestrated parking exit. No excuses for such an expected huge event.

Katz A.

Yelp
It is my first time in Belmont and we went with a bunch of guys for the Bourbon and Belmont tasting. The park to me seemed rather tired, and clearly needs a renovation. It was difficult to see the horses and the screens were so small outside. I don't know how many people typically attend an event like this, but they didn't seem to be that many and I wonder about the use of this real estate, such a large space and seems to be under utilized. The time between races was rather long and I thought that there was an opportunity there could've been some entertainment like you see during halftime at the Knicks or Rangers games you're waiting around for a two minute race. It was fun to be with you guys, but overall, Belmont was disappointing, even thougj i won 500!

Yelp
This was my first time at the race tracks and it was the best experience! We went for the 150th belmont stakes races. It was such a fun and lively atmosphere. The nice part about the park is that there is food available there to purchase but you can always bring your own. Everyone is there just to have a good time! The only downside is that the lines are long for the bathroom, food and drinks but that is to be expected at big events. Overall, a great experience and will definitely be going back next year or sooner for other events!

Yelp
Nothing like Belmont Stakes. #5 did it. Congratulations. Once you enter the stadium theirs such lush of green grass and beautiful flowers. The weather was great for all races today. Great to see our former President Bill Clinton and former Yankee coach Joe Torre in the building. This was my second visit to Belmont and I had a wonderful time. Theirs a picnic area for larger crowds., and arrangements can be made for Grilling privileges. Great venue trucks to stimulate anyone's pallets.

Yelp
The Belmont stakes is today. http://www.belmontstakes.com/ Belmont Park Race Track is 430 acres of horse racing at 2150 Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont, NY. The main course is one and a half miles and the stands can hold 85,000 to 90,000 patrons. Total seating capacity is about 32,000 people and there is track side dining for up to 2,300 patrons. The parking gates open at 10:45 am daily and at 8:15 am on the day of the Belmont Stakes race. General parking for Belmont Stakes Day is $2.00 to $10.00 and $4.00 to $25.00 for preferred parking. Clubhouse preferred parking on Belmont Stakes Day is $7.00 to $40.00. Valet parking is $6.00, but there is no valet parking on Belmont Stakes Day. A courtesy bus shuttle runs from the parking area to the race track area. Handicapped parking is available near the Clubhouse and Grandstand. A handicap permit or registration is required to park in these spaces. Gates open at 11:00 am except on Belmont Stakes Day and Father's Day. The grandstand admission is $2.00 to $10.00 on Belmont Stakes Day and clubhouse admission is $5.00 to $20.00 on Belmont Stakes Day. On the Sunset Friday party grandstand admission is free until 1:00 pm and then the regular prices will apply. Clubhouse admission is $3.00 until 1:00 pm when regular prices will then apply. Children under 12 are free with an adult. In the Paddock and Winner's Circle no shorts or abbreviated wear is permitted and gentlemen must wear a collared shirt. When sitting in the Box Seats gentlemen must be in a suit or sports jacket with a tie being optional. Ladies must wear dresses, skirts or slack outfits. No shorts or jeans are allowed. Men must wear a tie with their suit or sports jacket on Belmont Stakes Day. Shirts and shoes are always required in the Grandstand seating area. In the Belmont Room dining area the same attire as above is required. The Garden Terrace allows neat casual attire with men wearing collared shirts and a suit or jacket optional. On Belmont Stakes Day suits or sports jackets and dresses, skirts or pantsuits for ladies must be worn. There are ATM machines at Belmont Park Race Track, a barber shop, binocular rentals, coat check, Personal Handicapping Stations, Race Replay Centers and First Aid center. My husband and I went to Saratoga fist before going to Belmont. Saratoga is beautiful and they have great food and ambiance. Belmont is run down not clean and doesn't feel too safe it doesn't feel like an event. We do not bet on the horses. I read Sea Biscuit and Secretariat. That is why we went to Saratoga. I love horses. But horse racing can be a nasty business. I have a friend who has a horse at Belmont. Her dad passed away and when he died the entire family took the money and bought a horse. She doesn't have any money but she has a horse. Her son works at Belmont. He puts up videos of the horses on his FB page. She lives across the street and since she owns a horse there she can go when there is no race. I think it is more fun to do that. With all of the rules for decorum in the winners circle in the main area, anything goes. With all of the focus on money since Mayor Bloomberg took over I would think he would put some money into fixing Belmont. It is probably going to be very crowded today as today is the Belmont stakes. It is going to be on at Fox Woods Saratoga Racetrack and a few other area Casinos. It is much more exciting to see in person to hear the horses thunder to feel them run. But for me the park is too crowded and not clean and not a treat like it is going to Saratoga. Maybe if and when they fix it up it will be a treat. I guess I was spoiled by the beauty of Saratoga. But it is too expensive to go any more. Belmont is here if you haven't been to a race. But if you can afford to go to Saratoga you have to do it at least once. But if you can't make it to Saratoga, Belmont does have real horses and real races. It's a good place to start!

Yelp
There should be an option for rating the Belmont Stakes race day. The reason I am giving the track 4 stars is because the track is beautiful. However, I attended the Belmont Stakes (2017) and had a horrible time. I suggest that they dont serve alcohol to anyone who is clueless about horse racing. 90% of the people I came in contact with on the day of the race were only there for a status and not to watch the races. Soooooo many drunk college kids. They threw their trash everywhere and were so rude. Here is what I heard throughout the day: By the paddock waiting for race six horses to come out. Dumb group of drunk girls "omg the horses. Look its the race horses. They are so beautiful. (Screaming like teenage girls at a Backstreet Boys concert). Someone take a picture of us." The horses they were referring to were the pony horses. They found this out two mins later and called them "security horses." Another drunk couple at the paddock area. "Why do they all have bandages on their feet?" Ok people, think about it. Are they bandages or do they serve another purpose. Another group of girls when asked who they were betting on in race six. "We are VOTING for Patch." Not sure I have a response to that to other "you are dumb. Dumb." You can image how much worse it was trackside. Trackside. Girl next to me. Falling asleep drinking her coors light.

Yelp
Looking for something different to do? Check out the Belmont Raceway. After all, you've lived in New York all your life, only a couple miles away, and never thought twice to checking out Belmont Raceway. Why? Because it's just horses running around a track and traffic can be horrendous during the Belmont Stakes on the Cross Island and Belt Parkway, only making you despise the existence of Belmont even more. But putting all my personal experiences behind, I went with an open mind. If driving and coming from the Cross Island Parkway, as soon as you make it off the exit and pass the money booths, make a sharp 180 degree turn towards the right. You can park along the side of the road on the grass. A complimentary white shuttle bus will trolley along if you're too far away from the raceway. Don't forget to tip the nice fella. I was surprised at how peaceful and serene the grounds were. Nice place to relax, have a picnic, and wager some money on horses. If you come during the Belmont Stakes, it's $10.00 for general admission and $10.00 for parking. If you come to the smaller races, which I'd recommend, it's only $3.00 for general admission and parking is free. You can bring coolers and camping chairs to lay out in the small grass area. Since a lot of people don't come during the smaller events, you'll have plenty of space to sprawl out with your friends. The best part is that you can bring a cooler full of alcohol, beers and food. Yes, you can buy food and drinks at arena event-like prices, or save a bit of money, bring a mini keg and have a blast. We found it as the perfect place to spend the afternoon. Right now, the horse convoy has headed up to Saratoga to race, but I can't wait till they make their way back down to Belmont for some more summer afternoon fun, boozing and eating it up!

Yelp
Breakfast at Belmont is a great way to spend a Sunday morning. Was up at the crack of dawn and thinking, "why am I doing this'? Well, it was worth the Sunday morning early rise! We arrived about 7:15 and entered through the main gate as the parkway entrances are closed for this event. A very nice attendant directed us to park in the lot close to the entrance so it was a quick walk to the cafe area. Parking and entrance fees are waived for Breakfast at Belmont. As you walk into the main area for viewing and breakfast, the cafe is open serving eggs, hash browns, pancakes, yogurt, juice and coffee. You can sit at one of the tables overlooking the track and watch as the trainers enter and warm up the horses. We went outside and went right to the front where a line of horses and trainers were working. Its a great deal of fun to watch, bring your camera! After about an hour, there is a a group discussion in the horse preparation area just outside the track where we learned about the care, maintenance and preparation for racing that is done with the horses. It was very interesting and I learned a great deal. Next is a tram ride (yes a tram ride like Universal Studios tours) throughout the grounds, past the stables, clinics etc where there was a tremendous amount of activity getting the horses ready for the days races. Last stop was back at the clubhouse where the starting gate is positioned for pictures and explanation. This is a great Sunday morning activity to get out and learn a bit about horse racing and other than breakfast, its all Free. Thanks Belmont!!!

Yelp
Hands down, most exciting horse-racing experience ever! Since we haven't had a Triple Crown winner since 1978, the likelihood of seeing another one anytime soon is slim. Therefore, I'll aim to keep my review focused on the establishment and not on the race (clearly the race was an automatic 5 stars). For the amount of people in the stadium, they were fairly organized. The stadium is huge, and they had a large outdoor seating area with food vendors. Inside, each floor had food and alcohol as well. Prices were $10 for beer, $12 for mixed drinks, and my hot dog was $6. The stadium has four floors, although the 4th floor is reserved for club members only. While on a normal day there were plenty of bathrooms available, the day of the Belmont Stakes proved rough for the ladies, as the lines for the women's room were absurd. I attempted to use the bathrooms on the 3rd floor for the most part, as they had the shortest lines. Placing bets was easy enough. They could be done electronically or via a person. There were ATMs and TVs located throughout the stadium. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, especially with the large crowds of people. I had General Admission tickets ($15), which means standing room only. I lucked out and had an amazing view on the third floor, where I could see the whole race even when people were standing. That made a huge impact on my experience. We staked out our spot at about 4pm for the 6:50pm race. Had we tried to get in later, I probably would've been better watching the race on one of the TV's. The announcers were a little difficult to hear, but the various large screens they had on the track helped me identify which horse was in which place. I also loved the atmosphere. Looking at the pond and green vegetation with the blue skies was picture-perfect. The running of this year's Belmont Stakes was (as I've been told) tremendously better than last year. It was extremely smart to have the Goo Goo Dolls perform after the races to help offset the mad rush to leave. I stayed for part of the concert and was able to get on the LIRR within 10 minutes of leaving the facility. I heard last year was a nightmare, but no complaints here for this year. Definitely had an amazing experience. I'm sure the experience is different when you're not about to witness history and the stadium is sold out, but even with the crowd, the event ran smoothly, and it was definitely a day to always remember.

Yelp
I'm so happy that my first time coming to a horse race I got to watch the Triple Crown, what an amazing experience. We got here early since it was a big event and already this place was packed. The lines to get in went by pretty quick since the screening process was very light. I wasn't sure of the whole dress code and it was mixed. There were a lot of people dress casual but others wore the big hats which I loved and wished I had joined the big hat trend. They had a food truck festival in the back with all types of food. My only complain is that they sell beer everywhere but only one place to get liquor and the lines were super long and slow. Now since this was my first time I was a bit intimidated by the whole betting thing but my amazing friend coach me through it and explain the terms when placing my bet, I wish I remembered now but I forgot lol I was super excited when I won on the first race that I placed a bet, beginners luck. Every time a race happened everyone went crazy and the vibe of the whole place was crazy. The place was packed but I never felt rushed or pushed and everyone behaved.

Yelp
Applied for a simple cashier position, the management made me take the weekend off to only send me a letter 2 weeks after saying there was only Cooking positions available (There only 1 person I saw that was certified to serve food), then they proceeded to send another me letter telling me I will no longer be considered as an employee because I missed my shift lol... Anyone Other similar experiences? * Don't trust the food *

Yelp
This place is awesome. I've never been to a racetrack before, and gambled. I went with an yelp elite event, and it was a blast. I will definitely be returning. From what I can tell, they always have events, and deals going on. I heard that on fathers day, fathers get a free whiskey, cigar, and even a strait razor shave for just for the $5 entry fee. The facilities were clean, and classy. You cant help but think back to the 1920's and imagine how much fun it must have been. I went with my friend, and brother. We had a great time competing with one another, betting on different horses. We even won some bets, so we were able to go into the winners circle, and take pictures next to the horses. Afterwards, there were more opportunities to see the horses that had finished the races behind the stands. I will defiantly be keeping this place on my radar for future visits, or events. I had a great time learning about the history of horse racing, and how all the betting works.

Yelp
With 430 acres horses race on this racetrack to glory and fame! www.nyra.com In the glory days men and women were dressed formally with jacket and tie and dresses of hats. Wish it were cleaner, thus the four stars. Be forewarn betting can be very addictive!

Yelp
I was SO SO SO excited for the Triple Crowne. SO excited. . . I wanted to move back to New York. This wonderful feeling frayed away as my friends and I tried to make it to the LIRR. Exasperation. That is the best word I can think of for the exiting experience from Belmont Park. I was genuinely afraid that it was a health or fire hazard that so many people (120K, I heard) were moving at a snail's pace from Belmont Park to the both the LIRR and the Highway. Sigh. Just writing this is making me re-live the gross exasperation of it. It will be a long time until I return.

Yelp
Don't buy Clubhouse seats to the Belmont Stakes. Buy a general admission ticket and just sit in the Clubhouse. They didn't even try to keep the area exclusive. Go on in and enjoy the air conditioning and shorter lines for bathrooms. Based on my experience, feel free to grab a seat too. Go to the event! It is an amazing event even if the Triple crown is not on the line, but save your money on the "clubhouse" seats.

Yelp
The Sport of Kings. Belmont is a decent track, but nowhere near as nice as Saratoga. Forget Aqueduct- that place is just plain nasty. At Belmont you can still have a great day out especially if you can score some seats for the Belmont Stakes, that is when this track really shines. Aside from the big stakes race, the place has the usual betting windows and beer concessions found at most tracks, as well as the cigar chomping old guys with their racing forms and their "system" - which is just as good as your "system" for picking winners. Huge parking fields.

Yelp
Belmont Park you did not disappoint this weekend. I came here because a family friend's horse was competing. Although War Canoe did not win, it was sure fun cheering her on! It's a great place. It's not as glamorous as I thought it would be. But you can sure make a day of it and it's just a different way to spend your Saturday . Don't buy the box seats just pay general admission. We honestly sat in our seats like for 10 mins and never went back. Best way to do it it is to bring your cooler and a nice spread of snacks and drinks with you. Come early enough to save a table for your friends in the front of the building (general admission area).Everyone hangs out at the table with snacks and goes back and forth to the horses when they are racing. Every race happens I think every 30 mins. They have vendors and arts and crafts. The food was average frozen food lol, nothing to brag about. Betting is fun, just don't get carried away. I would recommend to come here! I'll come here once a year lol.

Yelp
Despite California Chrome failing to make history, my first trip to Belmont Park certainly won't be my last. Now I wouldn't call myself a degenerate necessarily, but I've been gambling on horses since I was about 15 years old (sorry, Mom/FBI). I grew up next to arguably the nicest horse racing facility in the nation - the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club - and throwing cash at stampeding giant animals has brought me more joy over the years than many other activities I partake in. Generally speaking the sun is shining, folks take the time to look dapper, and the prospect of netting a few hundred dollars on a trifecta box is too much awesome wrapped into one package. As for Belmont Park, it's one of the more unique tracks I've been to. I'm not accustomed to sitting anywhere but the grandstand or infield on special occasions, but here at Belmont you don't even need to step foot inside as their picnic area is a beautiful and cozy area to post up for the day. With heaps of green grass to spread out on, plenty of picnic tables to go around (gotta there early for those, though), and TV monitors + speakers located everywhere, you can have a picnic while watching your horses sprint towards the finish line while eating homemade sandwiches and snacks if you think enough ahead to bring food. Oh, and perhaps the best part... it's BYOB as well. Bring a cube of Bud Lights and see where the day takes you. Perhaps best of all is that you can get there just using your Metro Card. I live right by the F train and you can take the F to 179th street, exit to the street and jump on the Q2 which drops you in the parking lot of Belmont. 50 minutes from the 63rd Street station and easy as can be. Epic. If you've yet to check it out, you need to change that before July 13th when it goes dark for the season. It's not quite New York City (it's Long Island), but damn if it isn't one of the more fun things you can do in the immediate vicinity.

Yelp
I was flippin' excited to see California Chrome's Triple Crown victory. Oh boy. Talk about a disappointment. It was a bad sign when my ticket was scanned as a counterfeit out of about 10 of us that all bought our tickets together. They were purchased through Stub Hub so in now way was it the venues fault ,however things just spiraled out of control from there. After refusing to pay for another ticket, I kinda just snuck in. It was so insanely crowded that no one noticed. We had been drinking on the private bus we rented so everyone's bladder just about had it. For such a large venue and to host such a big event, there were not enough bathrooms. Some lines were over a 20 minute wait. The majority of the time was spent looking for the group since there was no cell phone service. Too many dang people packed into one space. And about those real and (apparently) counterfeit tickets, they didn't really matter because no one was actually respecting the assigned seats which meant that we were standing in the back which meant that not only did I not see CC, I didn't see one friggin' horse. Not one! Perhaps on a less crowded day this would be fun but on such a monumental day this place just isn't equipped for this many people.

Yelp
Very crowded and dirty. Lots of garbages all over the place. Bathroom is filthy. Parking was hard to find. No signs to guide you.

Yelp
A wise man once said to me that it is one of God's great tricks that you always win your first time at the track. Well, being that this weekend was my first time at Belmont, let's say I walked away quite happy. For now I'll give it 5 stars for now but I have the feeling that after subsequent trips the star total might diminish some. Not much though. I myself am not prone to heavy gambling, for those of you who are, you may wish to stay away, but if you have the right mindset going in, you will find yourself in one of New York's true gems. When you enter the area of the grandstands you become enveloped in lush beautiful greenery. The park is so beautifully maintained that you feel as if you've entered some victorian era english garden. The track itself is impossibly big, it stretches out for over a mile, and the grandstands go on for about half a mile. The attitude inside, is tense, as one would expect, but you cannot describe the rush you get when your horse comes in and you collect your winnings. For anyone out there who's got a little bit of moneyto burn, this is a great way to kill an afternoon. BTW, The minimum bet is $1, so this can still be a cheap day if you so desire.

Yelp
This is probably one of the most under promoted and under utilized places on earth. It is really a beautiful place if you are willing to look past some things. When I was a little kid, my father used to bring us here and it was always packed out. The grandstand is huge, and there is just so much space. Sadly nothing has changed since then except instead of drawing 40k ppl a day, there are about 9k people on a nice weekend day. The landscaping is immaculate, the horses are very nice, and there is plenty of space. Now a majority of the crowd is single middle aged-senior men that you would see walking out of OTB. The decor is very dated especially in the grandstand. The food sucks and is over priced too. If they put some nice restaurants/bars in here and spruced it up a bit it would be packed out every day. This is one of the most famous race tracks in the world with so much history. You can get to it via train too. It is unfortunate that NYRA got a renewal of their lease to run this place because the only way they are running it is into the ground. So underutilized.

Yelp
We came here specifically for Sunday Fun Day during Independence Day Week, which was supposed to have a state fair. I had originally invited a friend to come too but she couldn't make it and THANK GOODNESS 'cause boy would I have been embarassed! We paid $2 for parking and $3/adult (children are free) to get in. There was one large bouncer, 2 carnival rides 4 booths of carnival games, a lame petting zoo with 2 chickens, 3 ducks, a donkey and some goats. THATS IT. This is what you call a state fair?! The people of the Midwest would laugh in our faces. Wasted our morning and $8.

Yelp
I rented out some picnic tables by the top of the stretch for my birthday. It has 6 tables and each table holds 8 people. I had about 30 something ppl so there was plenty of room for everyone. It was fairly easy to reserve the area, e-mailed them and they sent over a contract. The person isn't that quick to respond but he did respond w answers to all my questions. I've been to belmont before but never rented the tables. It was so much fun! All my guests loved it and had a lot of fun. We brought tons of food, drinks and alcohol there and spent the day hanging out and betting on horses. There's also 2 charcoal bbq grill in each area so u can bbq if u wanted to. But it was way too hot so we didnt do it. I would totally recommend this to anyone planning a special event! It's different and fun.

Yelp
Its hard not to love an environment brings together, the outdoors, gambling and animals. Located an a very accessible area via highways, trolley service from the parking lot, LIRR (when actually running) and all the buses on Hempstead Ave. Its a good 35 minute drive into the city (no traffic of course). Large open park like "backyard" area that has plenty of betting windows. seating, tables and lawn space. They also have a play ground and a stage that has live acts. There is history all around it too (yes it is horse racing history, but darn it, it is still history). Yet after so many trips here, I can only see her flaws. Belmont has the possibility of being a 4 to 4.5 star with some additional love on their part, capital improvements and some crafty marketing. Maybe because I spoiled myself and went to Saratoga (see my review for that) and saw what Belmont can be, I have a more critical eye. Now I will admit, some improvements have been made. The Top of the Stretch picnic area is a great example. They need to apply that mentality to the rest of the park. First of all, in the Backyard there are some missing components. - More upscale dining and drinking areas. In Saratoga they have a Shake Shack and this huge nice outdoor bar. - The TV screens (including the big ones) are not that great. - WiFi throughout would be incredible. - Rental of nice chairs and tables would be great. I know they have those tent areas, but just not having to drag your own lawn chair would be nice. Plus some people might be coming from the city (more on that later). Now I have not checked out the Clubhouse area and the more "upscale" portions of the inside but the general admission areas need some TLC. - The restrooms are a miserable place. - Its poorly lit or poorly painted. It just looks bleak. - The photos of the past are great. Would love to see more to that, maybe some displays with memorable races. Crazy thought, but it could be semi-interactive. Lastly, I'll touch on marketing: - Manhattan, Brooklyn, LIC, Astoria, etc are all nearby. Tons of people in their 20s & 30s looking for a good time. They've done some advertising for sunset racing which I think is great. But pump it up some more. You get good crowds of this age group dressing up for the Belmont Stakes. They will come more often. - I get a lot of it is political. But the LIRR needs to operate here always. You need to get people here that cannot drive. I really like it here and I always have fun. I'm happy that it was fun while in my late 20s and I'm happy to see that its family friendly. My guess is a lot of these improvements are on some list already. I just hope that they get off the wish list and become scheduled. PS - The Belmont Stakes are a great day (Terrible Cooler Policy aside!!!!) but watching the Derby & Preakness here might be even more enjoyable.

Yelp
Been to Belmont a few times for the races; it's a great experience and expect a lot of people .we didn't have any problems and security appears to be productive and sufficient. It's a bucket list experience and recommend you do it at least once .

Yelp
Where else is... ? - easily accessible via LIRR - surrounded by trees so you feel like you are far from the city - admission between $2-3 (1 buck cheaper if you take the LIRR) -BYO (beer, food, picnic, coolers, whatever) - a place you can hang out outdoors all day, lay in the grass, get a tan and some air (I avoid using the descriptor "fresh" air, as there may be some cigar smoking around you) -a place you can still smoke outside at a venue (not that I smoke, but I imagine this is a plus for many people) -can you get a 1 minute thrill of winning some $ and being able to bet as little as $2 -a public venue that has plenty of women's bathrooms, complete with soap, toilet paper, hand towels and stalls that have hooks and shelves so you don't have to put your purse on the floor -get a haircut (I know.) -can you admire some beautiful horses -make fun of short jockeys ?????????????????????? Nowhere else, obviously. It was also way cleaner than I expected, well it was clean (at least when we got there, once we left is a different story) What a fun day ( and cheap-if you don't gamble, of course)

Yelp
Went here for Breakfast at Belmont on Memorial Day Weekend. This event happens every spring for a few select dates, so check the website for availabilities. The event runs from 7-9. You get to watch the jockeys work out the horses. Such a beautiful track and such beautiful animals. Breakfast was $12 a person and cash only, a little high, but at least you could go back for more if you wanted. Also got to see a demonstration in the paddock area. Very informative to me as someone with probably an average knowledge of horses and horse racing. The tram ride was neat, as we got to see the barns where the horses stay and the greenhouse where all of the plants at the park are grown. Overall a great experience. Can get hot so check the weather and dress accordingly. I suggest getting there early to really enjoy the full two hours. Breakfast is served around 8.

Yelp
"Can't I just bet that all the horses will have a fun time?" -- Marge Looking for things to do in the summer? Go to the track! I went over the weekend with my friend Jenn and we had a lovely time. Tip for the future? Bring your own food/drinks in a cooler. That way you have more money for bets. And also, $18 for a dank fast food meal is ludicrous. How'd we do? I lost a bit at first, then won it all back and Jenn won a bunch throughout the day. Honestly, all the yelling at the horses/jockeys is the best part. And if you're looking to meet newly single, middle-aged men? Then go no further, I have found the place for you. Oh, and one other thing? Never bet on someone to "place" (ie. never bet on someone to come in second place). Why? We decided that it seems too mean. Vote for a winner!

Yelp
I lived in Queens for the first 13 years of my life. Then I lived in Nassau county for the second half. I have driven past Belmont Raceway probably 600 times and never thought anything of it. Fast forward to Fathers day 2012, My mom decides to buy us tickets to the Club House section of the Raceway, and needless to say I was blown away. We had a great time in the Club house, which housed a full buffet. The Omelet station had the biggest line and felt like eternity, but was definitely worth the wait. We never been to a racetrack before, and didnt know anything about the horses or how to bet either. So it was definitely a learning curve. We were betting based on names, colors, or any reason we felt a horse should win. I did manager to win a few times so that made the experience that much better. Just be prepared to wait about what felt like 30 minutes between races. We are already planning to come back this summer. And BTW, although it is a Racetrack, it is definitely fun for all ages!! Kids love horses, so when we come back, I am bringing my nephew along for the ride. Cheers,

Yelp
Gotta love going to watch horse races. The horses are amazing. I've been coming since I was a little girl. I've got nothing but love for this place.
