This place is like a cozy pub, not too crowded on weekdays. They have cocktails, but they're just okay. What's really good though, are the foods! We tried their salad, buffalo chicken wings, burrata with prosciutto, and truffle fries. The wings and fries were the best, super tasty! The staff there are really friendly and nice. Plus, it's super close to the Path train and just a quick walk to the boardwalk. Great for hanging out and munching on good food!

My husband and I stopped in for an early date night and we really enjoyed our experience. I ordered the steak and fries, my husband had the burger. The steak was cooked perfectly. We also happened to be there for their anniversary celebration and they had a promotion for a free espresso martini to their first 100 customers, i am not normally an espresso martini drinker but it was very good. Great portions, friendly service, and the food was delicious! We will definitely be coming back.

Came here with my best friend a few weeks ago to catch and and have some oysters. We sat at the bar and were taken care of by Flo. Both the bartenders that afternoon were sweet but she was extra attentive. The food was good and so were the drinks. It was very low key and chill. Overall great experience, just skip the truffle fries.

I was looking for a restaurant to take my wife on a date, and I come across Belo Bar on google .Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! Super fun and unique mock-tails. Our server she was very sweet and helpful. We recommend the fresh mozzarella sticks and grilled octopus on appetizers and for main dishes oh my God Chicken Portabella, and Penne arrabbiatta were both delicious 😋 Will definitely come back

I had to pick a spot last minute for one of my girlfriends and I to get dinner. I called in and they were able to book me for a 7:30pm reservation. When we arrived I found parking nearby on the street. The place is small but they were able to keep it socially distant with indoor and outdoor seating. We were greeted by Z and he was doing the hosting and waiter. He was really nice but he wasn't very present. For drinks I ordered a glass of wine and my friend ordered a strawberry martini. The drinks took a long time before we got them. It was now time to order our entrées and I ordered the linguini and meatballs and my friend ordered a shrimp salad and shrimp pasta. I tasted the shrimp salad and it was delicious. My entrée was just ok tasting and so was my friend's. It could of been seasoned a little more. We wanted to order more drinks and I had to search for Z several times. Another server Ray came over and saved the day. We ordered more drinks and of course it still took forever but Ray was on it. We asked for the bill and it came to a little over $100. All in all we had just an ok experience.

The food was good and the portions were nice for a cocktail bar. The drinks were good also, NYC priced and a young crowd- nice open space. Came around 7:30pm, service was slow if you are seated outside. Will say service seemed faster if you stand at the bar. Will try and go back when the college isn’t in session.

Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! Super fun and unique cocktails. Music and decor was great. Our server Dani was very sweet and helpful. We recommend the fresh mozzarella sticks and Strip Steak, as they were done to perfection. Will be back!

Amazing date spot! They made an excellent dirty martini, and I definitely want to try their espresso martini next time. Their mozzarella sticks were incredible, and their pasta main portions were generous.

This is based off of two visits, around a year apart. Food: The second time I came, I'd come about 45 minutes before happy hour stopped- and they'd run out of oysters! The bartender was very sweet and apologetic. The mozzarella sticks were delicious, and they actually give you a great amount of sauce for them! The wings, I wish they were crispy and spicier, but the chicken was good quality and juicy. Service: It's definitely a bar spot with its regulars, so I felt they were focused on catching up on life and photos rather than any new patrons. As someone who spent a lot of time in nightlife & in customer service, i definitely get it-- but raising my hand to order and being walked by multiple times gets a little frustrating; especially when you're kind of feeling rushed with a specific menu and a time frame. Ambiance: They had tvs with things one, there weren't captions on all of them, but they had music going. The music wasn't super loud, so it's a great spot to come catch up with people or even have a date, then walk along the water. 4.5/5, I'd most certainly go again and again! I hope they have oysters next time, because before they were delicious

Went after work for happy hour. We opted to sit at a table, which was a bit of a bummer since happy hour specials were only served at the bar. We ordered a few plates of the mozzarella sticks, which were huge! Perfectly breaded and fried. We likely would've ordered more food, should the happy hour specials been available to us. Otherwise, a nice space to catch up with friends after work.

Love it here. Came on a packed Thursday with some friends. Our server was super quick and friendly. Nice list of unique cocktails (no substitutions). Oahu and Espresso Martini are so good. The espresso martini has cinnamon and tastes like a Starbucks drink. Decor is eclectic and interesting. It's definitely loud and a little difficult to talk, but that's mostly because people are having fun and it's a younger crowd.

This place is a regular MUST GO! The drinks are so good from the unique espresso martinis to their amazing happy hour cocktail selection! The food every time is delicious, oysters and mozzarella sticks are a must! You can never go wrong!

What a great cozy spot for drinks! I stopped by for some pre dinner drinks to catch up with friends. We arrived around 4:30pm just in time for happy hour and there was plenty of space at the bar. Happy hour is unfortunately only served at the bar so it made conversation a bit difficult with the music but we managed for the great deals on delicious drinks and food! By the time we left the bar was full on a Thursday evening. I had the mango margarita and mule, both $10 each on the happy hour menu and delicious along with the buffalo wings and giant mozzarella sticks which we enjoyed. They also had a great deal on oysters which were $1.50 each for happy hour! The bartender was awesome and service was great! I'll definitely be back!

Came for happy hour on a Friday. Loved the mozzarella sticks, oysters, and drinks! Pass on the hummus. Service was fantastic too, bartender / waitress was very attentive and there were a few people there around 5pm. Definitely was a vibe at this place, could see people staying late having drinks and chatting, and then enjoying some late night grubs. I'll definitely be back!

My partner and I visited without a reservation. We were attracted by the lights outside the restaurant. Upon walking in, there is a long bar in the front of the space. The host had us worried we would be squished in the back of the restaurant, but it turns out there is a small area of tables for people that want to sit and eat. Service was prompt and more than courteous. We each ordered a glass of wine. The menu offers a variety of options for different types of eaters. The options are satisfactory [to me] and seemed to address all the major food groups and diet types. Despite this, we were having a casual night, and thus ordered the burger and chicken sandwich. The burger was cooked nicely and had the right amount of moisture. It was fairly large and definitely makes a filling meal. On the side were the house-made chips. While these tasted good, every single one was soggy and flaccid. The chicken sandwich was delicious. The chicken was a bit thin, but it had plenty of toppings. Similarly, the sandwich was larger than expected, but was held together nicely by a toothpick such that it did not fall apart at all! I was extremely pleased at this. The truffle fries (or parmesan? they were very quickly upsold upon ordering the regular fries. I had no idea what I would get) were cut to shoe-string size, and were nicely seasoned. The fries on top were large and well seasoned, and once eaten, revealed the tiny, short, end-of-the-batch, dry fries below. This is okay, the sandwich was filling. Overall the experience was a positive one. The service staff is very kind, and the food is filling and tasty! What more could one want? Please be sure to try this restaurant!

Nice seating by the bar or at a table in the back. Dimly lit. Makes for a great date spot. Great cocktails. The ANGKOR reminded me of a morir sonando. The jumbo mozz sticks were so delicious (huge cut of juicy flavorful mozzarella with fresh breading). I'd come back just to order this again. Servings were large enough to share.

I was super excited to hit Belo bar for some oysters and dinner on 2/20/25. My friend and I were happy to catch up at the bar. We asked to order some food, we asked about the sliders and we were informed they could only be made well done so we decided against those. I ordered a dozen oysters and some mashed potatoes. My friend got the wings. The wings were okay very soggy and fatty, tasting like old oil. We didn't say anything we were happy to just enjoy each other's company. The mashed potatoes came out and were extremely cold once again we just chalked it up as a loss and continued chatting. I ate two oysters nothing special but I was happy with that. On the third oyster out of six, as I was chewing I felt something pop and crunch in my mouth. Then it felt like plastic, I pulled out what I hope was a dead crab out of my mouth. I was so repulsed and tried my hardest not to vomit on the bar as I saw the legs and body of a dead crab is what I'm telling myself because I don't think I can't recover from whatever else it may be. I let the bartender know discreetly to which he took the remaining 3 away immediately and told his manager. They discussed it for about five mins and then then returned to say "yea my manager said he's not going to take them off the bill." I didn't ask for them to be removed but working in the service industry for over 20 years I would NEVER charge someone who had anything in their mouth that they did not order. Still I did not complain I said okay I just wanted to enjoy my time with my friend. About another five mins later they were discussing again for some reason and the bartender came up to us and said the manager is willing to replace them, I told him no thank you I don't want any more oysters tonight after that. Not even five mins later another man approached us and plopped down a tray of three oysters saying "these are complimentary". At this point I almost throw up as I've said several times don't want oysters after that. What is even more offensive then bringing the same three oysters I didn't eat from the original six is that I already paid for them. In no way were they complimentary ! Those were from my tray, just brought out again on a smaller tray. At this point I was so repulsed and disgusted about the entire situation. During the whole situation not one person apologized, instead the manager talked about me and the situation at the bar several times without approaching me once. Also discussing it to someone else outside the bathroom door while my friend was in the bathroom saying "yea I'm not taking those off!". No one asked him to take them off even though that is the right thing to do, but to be forced to look at them over again after that experience was horrid. Do better. $76.77 for an awful experience was not on my agenda for a Thursday night dinner. We left disappointed, needless to say I was ill when I got home.

Been coming here regularly for over five years and it's been consistent. The food, drinks, service are great. It's a laid back casual vibe with class. Still an ideal spot for a drink and a bite after work, meeting up with friends, or a date night. Their happy hour is nice and Wednesdays are $10 espresso martinis

We got the three cheese dips so good, sliders, and pizza. Cute date spot for great cocktails as well. Bartenders are very nice as well.

I visited here with 3 friends and we ordered our drinks, but unfortunately, we had to wait about 30 minutes for them to arrive. I ordered the Phantom of the Opera, but it didn't taste like gin at all. I also asked three different staff members for a straw before finally receiving one. We ordered oysters, but they were out of stock, and the prosciutto flatbread was disappointing. Additionally, our waitress was quite slow and inattentive throughout our visit.

Had a great time. Staff was friendly and place had a great vibe. The decor is cool with little lights for the tables. The food was very nice. My beers were delicious but small. I wanted paint but kept getting bulb glasses. Oh I drank them lol and they were cold so that's a plus. I would def recommend it for a drink and a meal.

I stopped into Belo Bar with a friend the other night. We grabbed one of the high-top tables, where we enjoyed gracious service and several rounds of beverages. I tried their cocktail called The Mirage, which included Ilegal Mezcal, spiced pear liqueur, lime juice, agave, and pear puree; it was essentially a spicy, smoky pear margarita. I adored it! Now, I really just need to go back in order to try their food.

My favorite cocktail bar in Hoboken. I've been coming here for years and have tried almost every cocktail on the menu. The staff is great, owner is fantastic, and menu items are 10/10. Treat yourself and try their happy hour, it won't disappoint!

I came in right before I had to go to the Yankee game. I made it just in time for happy hour! I sat at the bar and I loved the lights at the bar, especially it being 530pm, you couldn't tell what was going on outside which I loved. The bartender was very helpful. The bartender knew I was in a rush and attended to my every need fast and efficiently. I ordered the grilled octopus, a half dozen oysters, truffle fries, mozzarella sticks, and Atlantic salmon. The grilled octopus was nice and tender, the oysters were huge!!! I wasn't crazy about the mozzarella sticks, I felt like the cheese was lacking a bit of flavor. The truffle fries and salmon were my favorite. The salmon was a healthy dish in my opinion but there was tenderness and flavor in every bite. All in all, it wasn't bad and I would come back for drinks.

I really wanted to give this place a good score because the service was impeccable and so we're the prices. The food was so disappointing. I ordered the Chicken and waffles. The waffles were soft, eggo type frozen waffles, and the chicken was a thin and bland cutlet. Prices can be too good to be true. Service was amazing but go elsewhere for brunch food.

Went back for brunch and food was pretty good! We loved the jumbo mozzarella sticks, Mediterranean salad (add shrimp) and the spicy chicken sandwich! (It was served on naan bread) We each got a cocktail and it was a little over $100 bucks with top- little pricey for brunch but we did enjoy and service was excellent! We came to Belo Bar & Kitchen for Hudson Resraurant Week. My mussels in white wine were very good. The gnocchi bolognese was just enough for me but may be too little a portion for someone else. My husband enjoyed his salad and his steak & fries. The place had a good vibe and waitstaff was attentive.

I previously came here a while ago and had drinks outside. I had a great time - this most recent time not so much. My boyfriend and I went last night for a late Halloween dinner. We were seated and greeted quickly. After reviewing the menu we placed our drink order. I ordered the special pumpkin cocktail and he had the abacado or avacadont After a little time our waiter told us the kitchen was closing soon and asked if we wanted to order food. I ordered the farfalle smoked salmon dish and my boyfriend had the chicken Milanese. We still didn't have our drinks yet 25 minutes pass and we finally get our drinks and then a minute later our food comes. Not sure if they forgot about our drinks or if service was really that slow but it wasn't that busy. Drinks were good and strong. Both of our dishes were ok but nothing special. I'm bummed about our visit since last time we were here we had great service. With so many restaurant/bar options in Hobo I'd try another place before coming back here.

Well well ..so I read the reviews for this place and honestly some are scary , however I always like to take my own conclusions once I know it's hard to please everyone so I decided to give it a chance today ... and here's how it went smh !!! Let me star by saying the service in this place is by far the WORSE I ever had .. The bartender is more concentrated in chatting with this one guy than he is on actually serving drinks and talking to the other people at the bar . I originally had a reservation for 6:30 however I changed it online and decided to call in just to make sure everything was good and the girl who answered the phone around 1:30 pm was in a rush to get me off the phone ..( NOT SO PLEASANT ) Than we go in and ask for beer and it took at least 15-20 minutes to serve us a beer , NO the place was NOT that busy . Honestly every time we ordered something it took forever to be served and when I told the waiter he actually gave me an attitude saying there were other people to be served .. SERIOUSLY..there were 10 people in total in that place and that is counting the waiter and the bartender .. and I guarantee you not everyone ordered a drink at the same time . Sooo yeah THEIR SERVICE SUCKS!!!! The food .. the food we ordered was actually good even tho there was absolutely NO PRESENTATION. We had the Farfalle Salmon and the Atlantic Salmon . It isn't a very big place but it's kind of cozy if only the service was better . They also had live entertainment.. and someone playing piano , HOWEVER what piano player on earth doesn't know a Billy Joel or Elton John song ? Well this one didn't . Let me just leave this right here . The bathroom wasn't very appealing either .. not really very clean and for a place that wasn't that crowded , it should have been . If they could work on their CUSTOMER SERVICE .. it would be a decent place to go. But their workers need to loose the attitude and actually wake up because they are way to slow and unpleasant .

Cute bar/restaurant in downtown Hoboken. The ambiance is cute for a girls night out. They have a nice drink selection too. For food, my friend and I tried the fettuccine with clams, salmon farfalle and the special for the day- scallop appetizers. All tasted pretty good! I think Belo has one of the best happy hours in Hoboken because there's actual food and cocktails on the Happy Hour menu. The Smoked Salmon Farfalle was recommended to us but the bartender and it was incredible. The pieces of salmon offer a nice flavor to compliment the delicious sauce. The Margherita flatbread was standard, but I wish there was a little spice kick in the sauce. We ordered Passionfruit Margs off the Happy Hour menu and they were crafted perfectly. Not too sweet not too sour and not tooooo much passion fruit flavor. The bartender this past Wednesday was a literal angel. Her energy was amazing. I will be back!

Loved the cantaloupe infused Penelope bourbon - a must try! Blood on the leaves was little diluted but tasted alright. 3 star rating because of the artichoke Kale dip. The Kale tasted very raw and the cheese garnish was disoriented from the entire dish. I still love this place because of the cheese balls & their ambiance. They had live music and proper social distancing in such a small place.

This place is amazing! When they brought out waters for us, they even brought out a doggy bowl for my friends dog. Now THAT is what I call quality service. The mozzarella sticks, or as I called them the mozzarella pipes, were huge and tasted delicious. The staff is very friendly and I will definitely be back again!

Servers were all attentive and very accommodating. Drinks were so underwhelming. The ladies enjoyed the Angkor but aside from that not many options for them. Colosseum was my favorite and the only reason they get more than one star.

Great service and awesome Happy Hour. Would absolutely come back. Nice traditional bar when you walk in and more of a speakeasy vibe or lounge in the back. Def check out the tacos, very solid for a bar would absolutely recommend.

Probably the best and most consistent happy hour deals in the area! Monday happy hour deals on food and drinks ALL NIGHT, the rest of the week is happy hour 4-7pm. Great drinks, I love their lychee martini and mozzarella sticks !

Second time here (last time was 9 months ago, according to yelp) and I love that I returned. I had a kick ass bartender named Jess who was slinging out those drinks perfectly. Flawless service with a welcoming vibe.

Stopped here for a happy hour drink before dinner elsewhere; it was Friday night and they extended the happy hour pricing until 7pm (not sure if that's every Friday or if we just lucked out). For happy hour, they offer a few cocktails for $10 (the Moscow mule was great) and all drafts beers were $5. The bartender also made a delicious spicy watermelon mocktail for one of my friends, and she said it was the best mocktail she'd ever had! Drinks and vibe were good, but giving it 4 stars because the space by the bar is a little narrow making it difficult to stand without always being in the way of people trying to get to the back of the bar.

Drinks were only redeeming quality. Not fully convinced it was chicken on the spicy chicken sandwich; if so, it was simultaneously over and under cooked. Paid for truffle fries and they were most definitely not truffled. Service = low-mid.

Yikes. I do truly feel bad rating this hole in the wall bar turned "restaurant" so low, and that's because of the service. It's actually quite good. Waiters wore their masks and the bartender gave us free shots and made us great drinks. This place IS actually good for its cocktails. Bartender also delighted with Future Husband over sports items and I smiled and nodded along as if I knew what they were talking about. But the food? Yikes. I really do wish my fellow Yelpers would step up and be honest here. This is not quality food. It is food trying to front as quality food. In what world did I think Branzino covered with caramelized onions, spinach, walnuts, and a balsamic glaze, would be decent from a hole in the wall bar? I couldn't eat the fish. Also who serves branzino skin side up when the skin isn't even crispy? Seriously inedible. At least the avocado on the fish tartare plate was green. It was also in a pretty shape! So one star for that. The salmon tartare didn't taste as fresh and flavorful as the tuna tartare but honestly both weren't GREAT. At least try to redeem yourself by bringing bread and butter out to the tables? Idk man. Also the hand sanitizer dispenser at the front door is broken, and that's the most important one.

Belo Bar is an interesting add to Hoboken. It has different decor and a beautiful long bar at the entrance. It's a small restaurant but they fit a good amount of tables inside. I went with my friends for brunch one Sunday. The service was a bit weird - a little inattentive and no one knew who was taking care of us. The brunch menu was also limited in my opinion. The food made up for it - everything was delicious. The French onion soup was the best I ever had. The Niçoise salad had really interesting ingredients and it was delicious (reco removing the tuna). Overall, a good experience - would be back to try dinner vs. brunch!

Such a cute cute place! There's also a great outdoor space. We were seated right away on Sunday afternoon. We ate outside with our puppy and the waiter was so nice and brought out water for him. The hibiscus margarita was so good- highly recommend it! We split the burger and some fries. Everything was so perfect! Will def be back to try more food and drinks!!

fantastic happy hou r, but only downfall were the $10 drinks. our were tasty, but weak. however, there are $5 high noons on the menu. Also, the happy hour food menu looks & smells amazing. love the decor and atmosphere. would come back in a heart beat.

Cozy and delicious spot tucked in almost didn't see it! Great and creative craft cocktail collection, decor with great character and the service is helpful and caring. I got a nunya business and a tiramisu.
