Belzan

I've been wanting to come to Belzan for years. So many years. My friends, it was worth the wait. This might now be my favourite Liverpool eaterie, and I'm clearly not alone as the window stickers denoting Good Food and Michelin guides annually through the years, including 2025. Everyone raves about the Guinness Rarebit Potato, and it's justified. Definitely get it. So tender, creamy, and that ketchup salsa thing on top was just...yeah. Amazing. Don't sleep on the other small plates too - the grilled hispi cabbage was one of the nicest things I've had in this city, or anywhere. The little crumbs of Lancashire cheese adds a lovely sharpness. Yum. We had the pork collar and jersey royals for our bigger plates, and both were fantastic. The potatoes were so crispy, with oyster mushrooms and a delicious egg yolk. The pork had a Mediterranean vibe with tomatoes, and olives. Really great food. Desserts were top notch too. We had an incredible chocolate mousse with crunchy, salty hazelnuts. Also had a strawberry and raspberry choux bun that was packed with fresh fruit, chantilly cream, and what our lovely host (who I think is the owner!) called 'tubby custard' 🤣 Can't speak highly enough of the people, who were warm, funny, and attentive all evening. God I can't wait to go back. £130 with drinks felt like a steal. Loved every minute. Edit: almost forgot - get the sourdough with the cauliflower butter. Never tested anything like it. Stunning.

Our first time at belzan and we chose to go for the 5 plate tester menu. Beautiful food and so filling! It was Valentines so the price was higher than normal at £95 per head. Welcome drink on arrival and the flow in courses was perfect, as a vegetarian it was the best alternative menu I have recieved- the care to create a plate and not just remove the meat was very nicely done and tasted divine! Cocktails were perfection.

We had a fantastic time here 28/6. The food, service and atmosphere was amazing.

In my opinion this bistro is absolutely amazing. Outstanding food and Outstanding service. Must try the rarebit but honestly everything was delicious. Really recommend if you want to eat GOOD food.

This was our first visit and it will not be our last. We had a Sunday roast and were not left disappointed, this has to be the best roast we have ever had that hasn’t been cooked at home. The portions were huge it was all delicious. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and were exceptional with the children. An absolutely delightful end to a busy birthday weekend

Beautiful restaurant with great food! We went yesterday for a dinner and had an amazing experience. The staff was lovely, creative foods and drinks.

This was the most fabulous meal ever! Brilliant attentive staff, great relaxed vibrant atmosphere, delicious interesting wine and the most incredible food. A flavour explosion of delight! I’d go every day if I could! 10/10 perfection! Thank you, thank you. We will be back just as soon as we can Xxx

We were visiting Liverpool for the weekend, and decided to have dinner at Belzan even though it was out the centre because of the amazing reviews and it totally exceeded our expectations! The food itself was amazing, both of us are veggie so we were really happy to see all the choices we had that were inventive seasonal and delicious. The drinks were fantastic too, the picked pepper martini in particular was a highlight, perfect drink! But generally we just thought the service, how friendly the team were with recommendations and little jokes, really made it. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone!
