Wonderful place for art lovers, offering a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere. The gallery showcases a diverse collection of contemporary and traditional artworks, making it a must-visit for enthusiasts. They regularly conduct engaging events, workshops, and exhibitions, providing a platform for artists and art lovers to connect. However, parking can be challenging during peak hours, so it's advisable to arrive early or use public transport. The art classes for kids are fantastic—my children thoroughly enjoyed the interactive sessions and creative activities. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. A great cultural hub, though better parking facilities would make it even more convenient. Highly recommended for families and art admirers!"

It was cool to come in through the non chalant entrance and descend down the brutalist staircase to check in and then seamlessly to the service bar. There's a perfect wind around to the stage area or on to the very clean bathrooms. Very pleasurable encounter at the merch table. Low key sales are refreshing and intelligent these days. The only suggestion of improvement I would make is to possibly adjust the AC output as the compressors are really loud towards stage rear. Pretty sure that's a non negotiable and the center is already aware, but just know that it was disruptive.

I loved my stop here during my visit in Omaha. The climate change / water exhibit was top-notch and filled with such a great range of artistic voices.

This gallery is really cool and it's right downtown. Entrance is free, and they rotate out the exhibits.

Not much to see and the entrance is hard to find. However, it's interesting to see the building, which used to be a grocery warehouse. People at front desk is also nice.

Up and coming art center! There are lots of available gallery spaces still available. The ones that were open today had some good thought providing art.

What a lovely place to spend your time at. Whether you are checking out the cool rotating exhibits at the art gallery, or visit in the evening to see an interesting music show at their low-end stage, I'm sure you'll find an experience you weren't expecting! Did I mention there's no admission fee either? Give it a shot sometime if you are in the area, and be pleasantly surprised. If you'd like something like this to continue into the future, support them any way you can!

Beautiful space and great museum. Can't wait to come back for a music event. Free admission so why not check it out?! It is downtown near a nice sized parking lot and other museums.

Yelp
Amazing art center. Artists from all over the world come here for residencies. Go to an Open House/Open Studio event. Absolutely world-class creativity and innovation right here in Omaha. Fantastic music performances and public events. Free.

Yelp
The museum is housed in a stunning building and features exceptional exhibits. I particularly appreciate the 12 to 15 artists in residence at any given time in the upstairs area. This museum is genuinely dedicated to promoting quality arts and programming. I make it a point to visit and support it every time I'm in town to see what new displays they have. Highly recommended!

Yelp
The Bemis Center was a complete surprise for the impact it had on me. I was not expecting such a powerful, stark and gut-wrenching piece as Cassils' exhibition; especially in Omaha, NE. Sexual ambiguity, violence, voyeuristic, throat clenching, and dizzying. A magnificent installation done in several rooms with different forms of media. The other 2 exhibits were first rate as well and the center is free of charge and open late on Thursday - luckily for me.

Yelp
The Bemis is a fantastic asset to Omaha. Not only does it house and nurture the creativity of a rotating number of national and international artists in its renowned artists-in-residence program, it hosts an ever-evolving variety of events that connect with the community-at-large with the contemporary art world. Something Omaha lacks is a dedicated museum for contemporary (or even modern) art. The Bemis does well in filling this void with thought-provoking exhibitions featuring works by current artists from around the world and, of course, resident artists. Add in the Kaneko across the street, and you can spend an afternoon enjoying a wide variety of art. All for free. The Bemis definitely deserves five stars. But I do miss the community-centric focus their underground space used to provide: Exhibits featuring local artists and collabs with local universities. Some of my all-time favorite events in Omaha were the biannual UNO art shows or seeing innovated local bands playing in a gallery setting. Oh, and the cave installation that was built across 12th Street was absolutely amazing. Too bad it didn't last. But things change and spaces like Bemis are at their best when they are ever-evolving. I look forward to attending many more fantastic exhibits and events here well on into the future.

Yelp
Great art gallery that isn't stuck-up. I've had some of my art pieces exhibited here twice when I was an art student at UNO...which I thought was pretty cool. Some of my friends I went to school with had their exhibits here too. I love contemporary art and Bemis never disappoints. They always have great artists featured. They have fantastic guest speakers/artists themselves that talk about their art. They don't charge but take donations. The brick building that houses the gallery is beautiful itself.

Yelp
Very cool place! I found the Bemis through fellow Yelper Scott B, AKA the Barcode Artist. Very cool stuff. I needed a dose of art to counteract the nuttiness of househunting, so I zipped in to preview the exhibits before the auction TONIGHT and was greeted by one of the artists who was busy installing for the big show. Artist Joel "Mighty" Darien took the time to sign me up for a membership and the auction. He was one of several pleasant and approachable people who were working there. In a little side gallery, I ran into Rachel Ziegler, the managing director and chatted for a bit about the residency program. The Bemis has 6 month residencies that include room, utilities, and a stipend for artists from all over the country and around the world. While looking at the Chihuly glass piece in the auction gallery, I happened to meet the chief curator, Mark Masuoka, who was very welcoming, too. The works in the exhiblits were extremely varied and interesting. I developed a crush with a metal sculpture, who knows where that will lead? I left feeling peaceful and relaxed and looking forward to the auction with dinner and drinks tonight.

Yelp
Bemis is right on! They are a beacon of light for artists and for those who value variety, scope and depth in art. Really a "must-see" in Omaha. The Bemis provides an artist-in-residence program that attracts local, international, and national artists. No entry fee - just donations.

Yelp
This free studio has an eclectic mix of rotating art pieces from around the world. The staff is very friendly, informative, and helpful. This isn't your typical art gallery, they have video artwork, 3D pieces, and canvas art in a beautifully historic building.

Yelp
Bemis knows art! I have never left disappointed. I saw an exhibit today that showcased some of the younger artists in the area. Amazing creativity. I would recommend Bemis to anyone that wants to get to know the up and coming area talent.

As good as it gets. Amazing exhibits, guest speakers, and residency program is a shinning light in Omaha.

Yelp
This place is great. I finally made it there after way too long. There is no entry fee - just donations. They had two exhibits when I went and it did not take very long to get through. I will definitly be back for the summer creativity festival later this summer.
