Ben & Jerry’s

The ice cream was delicious, of course. But the service? I didn't care for it. They were neither helpful nor friendly. And this is the first Ben and Jerry's I've gone to where they didn't offer samples. Maybe because it's in a college town? But even worse, you couldn't see the ice cream itself, which sometimes just gives you a better idea of what's inside. You could just look at this one menu on the side and pick from that. It's the people who worked there had been kind or helpful at all, it maybe wouldn't stood out so much. But for the price of the ice cream I would not go back to this particular store and instead I'd just go into the grocery store and buy it frozen!

The team was SO kind, friendly, and terrific when I visited! I was able to sample a couple flavors. When I was looking at their lactose-free menu, they let me try and order their brand new strawberry flavor (not even on the menu yet) - absolutely DELICIOUS. They will also be down at the Pav (on-Grounds) so I'm very excited to go to both locations.

Expensive but definitely worth it! Quality is spot on, as expected with Ben & Jerry's! Plenty of options to choose from including dipped waffle cones and sundaes. Good clean location with super friendly staff. Definitely recommended!

We had the Ben and Jerry's Ice cream cart at a wedding rehearsal. Everyone loved the experience of having their ice cream personally scooped. Adam was very easy to work with and the service was wonderful!

Ordered milkshake and it was literally water with bits of Oreo in it ...when I asked for them to fix it I was told it was watery because it was a custom requested flavor. That's just wrong.

Always enjoy a trip to Ben and Jerry's. I always find a new flavor to enjoy and today was no different. Today's pick was Coffee Buzz Buzz (coffee ice cream with expresso bean fudge chunks). My husband typically selects from a handful of tried and true favorites. His selection today was Half Baked. The inside of the store is currently closed but they have implemented a walk up window for cones, cups, shakes, and to pickup cake orders. One star deduction because it is higher priced than a couple of other local ice cream shops.

The team member who served us was very friendly and patient with us while we decided! The store is very clean and they were fully stocked! I should've taken pictures before we started eating but it's so good!!

The portions have shrunk. The ice cream was good. I usually buy a tshirt but this shop had none. ❤️❤️❤️

Good service but the paper on the cone stuck to the bottom so you could not eat the last part of the cone (and the best!). Colossal screw up.

Very average experience. I haven't been in here since I was a kid and overall just felt kinda meh about it. It is very clean and quiet inside and smells great. The workers looked to be about high school age and the service was just average. There are a few dairy free options, which was nice, so I tried the lemonade sorbet. Just okay. Not the best sorbet I've had. My boyfriend tried some kind of chocolate ice cream and said it was decent. He commented the scoops were a bit smaller than he expected. Price is very high for just ice cream. Kilwins is a bit cheaper and chaos is definitely a better bang for your buck. Wasn't that impressed with the flavor. Overall it's a decent place to grab ice cream but nothing amazing.

I came to Ben and Jerry's with a group of 20 friends, but service was efficient and quick. The ice cream here is always good, and even long lines pass by quickly. Today, I got the cookie cookie Sunday, strawberry cheesecake shake, and a scoop of the triple caramel chunk.

"It's going to ask you a question" They have the tipad behind a plastic screen to pressure you into tipping more since you have to audibly state your tip to the employee behind the counter. Pass.

I was craving a milkshake and decided to stop in with my friend after grabbing dinner in Barracks. The shop was clean and the milkshakes are fun. I knew I wanted cookies and cream so I ordered a large Sweet Cream & Cookies Milkshake. I asked for the worker make it extra thick. He said that he would but it wasn't as thick as I had hoped-- he still added a little too much milk and less ice cream than I would have liked. The Sweet Cream & Cookies milkshake wasn't the best milkshake I've ever had but it hit the spot.

Very nice location. The worker was friendly, helpful, and gave great recommendations. Always yummy!

This is an awesome place for ice cream. Their prices are good and the flavors are always interesting. They keep coming out with new ones that are fun to try and often taste great! I like that they are socially responsible and always give back with their initiatives. Inside it's clean and has a fun atmosphere. Everyone who works there seems to love their job and is so friendly. They will let you try whatever flavor you like! Personally, I love the tonight dough with the pieces of brownie and cookie. I love Ben and Jerry's and will definitely be back! It's a quirky classic creamery with good prices.

Terrible service and the ice cream was not up to par. Can't recommend this at all. How hard is it to get ice cream right?

$19 for two small ices creams w/a meager topping of hot fudge. The bathrooms and furniture are dirty, in addition to the place smelling like an old, dirty mop. Go to locally owned Kohr Brothers for half the price, better taste & double the portion. (Plus you won't risk getting nauseous from the disgusting smell)

Way too expensive, customers get yelled at for having a good time and chatting. Spoons will give you splinters.

I ordered a cake days in advance for curbside pickup as I have a mobility issue and parking is limited. The site said they would do curbside, they do not. Couldn't find cake, then found but it wasn't ready. Took 15 minutes I didn't expect. One person out front but others in the back standing around. Not sure what was going on.....maybe just a bad day?

While I've had my fair share of Ben & Jerry's pints of ice cream, this was my first time in one of their shops! I had no idea that they had actual sit down locations! This one is located in a strip mall, which is convenient. The place was busy on a Friday night, which it is probably typical, especially since it's close to UVA. However, the service was still prompt and friendly. I decided to try something I hadn't seen at other ice cream places, a BRRR-ito! It comes with 2 scoops of ice cream and is topped with cookie crumbles and hot fudge and is wrapped in a soft waffle cone. It was amazing! We sat down at one of the tables and enjoyed our ice cream. They had refrigerators with pints and pints of their cream, some I had never heard of! Awesome selection of ice cream and great location!

The ice cream is great but the owners must be high if they think that over-pricing their ice cream is good for business. We ordered two scoops in a small paper cup and the scoops were so small they were only half-filled. Given that I've been burned by their focus on money and not customer service, I won't go to any B&J in the future.

Excellent ice cream. Wait times are short. They'll make milkshakes, cones, bowls, cone bowls, combos. There's a pretty good selection of standard toppings. My favorite is Americone Dream. Colbert is awesome and so is his flavor. Now using Cardagin for rewards! Very cool.

My first brick and mortar Ben and Jerry's!!! If you think sitting on the couch and polishing off a pint of chubby hubby while watching Netflix is awesome, try having ALL the flavors at your disposal with chocolate dipped waffle cones. Clean establishment with friendly service. Lots of windows so you have a view. Nice respite from shopping.

Ben & Jerry's is famous for a reason. Really miss B&J's now, being out of the country! It's delicious and the company itself, has great values and philosophy. My friends and I would drive there to get a pint each to finish for the night with a cool multiple-buy deal. So many cool flavours- would love to try them all. A decent stocked fridge with most of the flavours for us to pick from. Didn't get to try any of their cones, milkshakes/ menu items- but would love to go back to do so! Everyone knows B&J's is the best ice cream around. But I'm here to tell you about how amazing the people are at this particular branch. One lonely Saturday night, I ordered two pints just before close via a popular delivery app. The delivery driver didn't show up on time, but an employee stayed around for an hour after close, waiting for my order to be picked up. When it was clear no one was coming, he called me and personally delivered it on his way home, despite my consolations that it was really no big deal--I'd just crack open some wine instead. But alas, he insisted, and delivered my sweet treats free of charge and in a very polite, professional manner. Come to find out, he is the owner! Wish I could give more stars. 11/10 recommend this place.

To me this was a typical Ice cream store. Nothing fancy or special about it. It's located in the Barracks Road shopping center. We thought the ice cream was good. Overpriced but we knew that before we even went. I'm sure there is better ice cream somewhere in the area but this was easy for us to get to from where we were staying.

I had to comment because I witnessed such incredible customer service here! There was some completely rude customer with a gaggle of screaming children who made the most absurd requests to the staff...at one point I think she asked if they could pick out the cookies from the "Mint Chocolate Cookie" ice cream. Um what? I think they tried as much is humanly possible considering it comes premixed like it does. They remained polite and courteous.

Your better off buying b&j in supermarket. No simple cone for kids and they claimed they can not push ice cream down into cone which means 100% ice cream drop 4 kids under 4. Ice cream delicious but server failed to use a glove or cone sleeve so we threw cones out. Kinda bummed by first experience with such an iconic brand.

Nice job on the vegan ice cream! Glad to see you carrying it at your locations and hope to see it in grocery stores.

They refuse to take orders over the phone even when you offer to pay in advance. I do deliveries and can sometimes pick up a treat in between orders or on my way to something where I don't have time to wait in line. Not taking orders over the phone prevents me from being able to order here.

nothing like free cone day! i miss it since i live in chicago now and there are no ben and jerry's here. a really good place with a lot of good ice cream. it's a little expensive though but i think most ice cream places are. they have a brownie dessert that i remember making a dorm run really late at night in order to get. fun times

Have been going here since it first changed hands from Haagan Daz. First problem there is no ice cream soda, the machine is broken and has been broken for months. Second problem is the facility is old and looks it. They need new, clean, updated and they look old, tired, worn out. The prices are stunning. I paid $6 for a root beer float. I will go back but not happily. Ann

I've always been familiar with the name Ben and Jerry's but I've never seen a store of theirs. So me and my dad decided to try it. I ordered a core sundae. Two flavors of ice cream, hot fudge in the middle, whipped cream, and M&MS on top. I was excited to bite into it. But the reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because I did not thoroughly enjoy my sundae. The whipped cream was terrible. It just tasted nasty. The hot fudge for some weird reason tasted like coffee. And I don't like coffee so that's not a good thing. And unfortunately, the fudge was the thing I tasted most, which made my dessert overall not enjoyable. The ice cream itself however was delicious. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Ben and Jerry's is a bad place. I do respect them and I love ice cream. I will go back but from now on, whatever I get is not having whipped cream on it or hot fudge. Or anything else I don't like. Whatever I get from now on, will be entirely delicious! :-)
