Ice Cream Does Not Need Adaptogens or CBD | Eater

"A classic, indulgent ice cream brand known for rich, comforting pints that invite outright indulgence — many people happily eat an entire pint in one sitting. It represents the traditional, sweet pleasure of frozen dessert that critics argue should remain untouched by wellness trends, pairing well with simple toppings like hot fudge, whipped cream, and a maraschino cherry." - Brenna Houck

Small clean location. Staff not super friendly but professional enough. Good selection. The waffle cones were terribly stale though 😖

Google
Arrived during stated business hours and sign said ‘we’ll be back shortly’ with no timeframe for return. Tried to call and got a recorded message. Had driven half an hour to get ice cream during their stated business hours.

1st off I know it's probably just me but OMG I really loved the wooden spoon. It made me think of being a child. The ice cream was heaven and the waffle cone bowls was so good. And probably the big treat for the night. Place was clean the woman was kind.

Happened to stop by after a few of the other local ice cream shops were closed. Great location, right in the downtown area. We ordered a Cookie Cookie Sundae which normally comes in a bowl but decided to add a chocolate dipped waffle cone instead. It comes with two cookies and can add toppings to it. Highly recommended!

Excellent customer service and place. Fantastic ice cream!

Google
Taste is actually an individual thing but for me their Salted caramel blondie is to die for.

Google
Very friendly staff Of course, the variety of delicious ice cream with different options of cones.

Yelp
Walked into the downtown Napa Ben and Jerry's with no line and no wait for service! Ordered out two ice creams in a cup and walked through downtown to enjoy it! What a treat! It's so hard to find a Ben and Jerry's these days and this was just what we needed as a little sweet treat after a day of indulging. Also one of the only places in Napa that we didn't have to wait for our food! The building is small inside but cute with brick walls and classic mellow vibes that you get from good ol' B and J's. Enjoy!

Yelp
Me and my cousin had dessert on the brain and Ben and Jerry's came in for the win. Unfortunately we had to get there before they closed at 9:00. We were able to make it however there was an influx of people there. The service was limited and a bit Snappy. My cousin asked to order next and the staff let her know she would get to her in a minute. I understand that it might have been a long day however customer service always wins in the end.

Yelp
This place is the real deal. Stopped by for some midday dessert and it was a great choice. The staff were nice and warm and welcoming and the core cream was top notch and fresh. I ordered cherries Garcia with a scoop of chocolate brownie and it was a solid choice. Ice cream was delicious and tastes just like the one in the grocery store. The ice cream was a bit pricey but it was wor

Yelp
Suuuuuper creamy and delicious ice cream! They gave us two samples each, and we selected to share a small cup. One scoop of Chocolate Therapy and one scoop of The Tonight Dough. The combo was terrific and just enough for my husband and I to share. I really wanted to try the Salted Caramel Brookie, but they said it would take too long to get from the back, so that was a bummer. The outside seating was really nice.

Yelp
Went for Dessert Food - 5/5. Ice cream was creamy and decadently rich. Sweetness was strong, but not overpowering making you crave the next bite every time. Bits of cookies and brownies added a nice bite to what is a completely smooth texture and the flavors were a perfect match for the ice cream. Service - 4/5. The line moved fast and service was friendly. Value - 4/5. The ice cream is delicious with plenty of flavors to choose from. Portion sizes are nice with two full scoops for a small. These days, the prices are what they are but $7.25 for ice cream still stings on the wallet. Parking - Street/Municipal Lot (Free)

Yelp
The perfect post-lunch sweet treat. SO MUCH ICE CREAM -- so maybe size down or embrace the filled to the brim cone!

Yelp
Cherry Garcia is very good. The milkshake is too thin. It's located close to First and Main. I tried it a second time and thicker it's okay.

Yelp
Stopped here as we came into Napa and wanted a quick bit of something sweet. Have to say always happy to see one of these places for the mint chip chunk! The establishment is well kept up , good variety and has seating for about 10-12. The staff was friendly and helpful with question a friend had about flavors. The location is nice and free parking right across the street. Only little down side was the pre packs were limited but always have the option of hand pack , so not bad. Give this one a try and let us know what you think !

Yelp
the girl who helped us was incredibly sweet! there's plenty of seating indoors and out if you need. i got a small scoop of their non-dairy strawberry cheesecake - creamy, sweet, and love that there's thick ribbons of graham cracker! just wish it was more strawberry-forward. a small scoop (in a cup) will run you a little over $7 - you're probably better off going to the store and buying a pint, but this is one of the better options if you're downtown and in need of a sweet treat!

Yelp
Took my family here for birthday ice cream, it was a cold day, so it wasn't busy. Got excellent service, sampled some new flavors. The ice cream was delicious, just as you'd expect from Ben and Jerry's! Clean and welcoming.

Yelp
Has all the great Ben & Jerry's favorite flavors! When you're looking for my father-in-law calls "real ice cream" that your kids can also enjoy, this is the place to go!

Yelp
Poorly run shop. Only one worker present with a long line that kept growing. She was also waiting on each customer as they tried different flavors, compared to most ice cream places that allow you to try but then the individual helps the next customer while you decide. I ordered a waffle cone with two scoops. One of Cherry Garcia and one of The Tonight Dough. Ice cream itself was solid, but I got the world's tiniest scoops. Total was $8.75, and I felt entirely ripped off.

Yelp
Great customer service and of course a tried and true product. The store is not that big but its fun to get icecream and walk around outside anyways. Staff were very friendly and offer samples

Yelp
Very small shop, only 1 staff getting orders . Got a scoop of strawberry cheesecake on chocolate dipped waffle cone. Ice cream is creamy but not so much a flavor big cheesecake or strawberry.

Yelp
I was expecting that getting Ben & Jerry's at the retail store would taste different or better than the pints from grocery stores, but they really tasted the same: good, but in a chemically processed way (1 star off). I also was expecting that there would be more unique flavors at the retail store than the grocery stores, but they were similar too (1 star off). I might as well pick up a pint in a local grocery store, for less the cost too! FYI The flavor list on the menu is not comprehensive; there are more flavors in the display cases. It would be great if customers can view all the flavors (and descriptions) while in line. The descriptions are written in small fonts on the display cases, so customers can't decide what they want until they reach the front of the line, which really slows down the line (1 star off). I would opt for other ice cream options in the area. Perhaps grocery stores even provide a better experience.

Yelp
Great location Not the nicest staff but whatever. We just wanted some ice cream. Eight people allowed inside at a time during covid times so we had to wait outside until some customers exit. It was just the way one of the employees said to wait outside was a little rude. Tone makes a big difference and we didn't appreciate the tone. I know we could've left and got boba drinks instead elsewhere LoL! but we opted to wait. We entered the store as soon as we were able to. We waited patiently again for our turn to be assisted. I wanted chocolate chip but I guess they didn't have it because I was given chocolate chip cookie dough instead. I'm not too fond of cookie dough flavor. My hubby couldn't find a flavor he liked so he just made a choice... I can't recall the name. The scoops were small. Anyway, that was it. Paid cash and left. I love Ben & Jerry's but was not too thrilled about this particular one. The store is in a great location right in the downtown area near Cole's Chop House. There are bistro tables setup outside. Yelp
I mean, come on, you can't go wrong with Ben & Jerry's ice cream. I follow them on Instagram and they are very political and I love supporting them. I love what they stand for and they love community. Oh, and the ice cream is really good too

Yelp
Lydia provided the best customer service. We came in after a Fridate to get our daughter a treat. Lydia was super sweet and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond when we asked her for a bandaid. My husband. The (amateur) wore vans with no socks. After a couple miles of waking, he got a boo boo. She's graciously gave us a bandaid. Thanks Lydia!

Yelp
Milk shake was ok, just ice cream and milk of course (a bit too much milk). Manager wouldn't provide my wife with a cup of water, only an option to purchase a bottle. Really?? A paying customer can't have a cup of water.

Yelp
Good ice cream lots of flavors and exotic ones gelato ice and Italian snow ice cream

Yelp
My husband and I came here on Sunday April 16 at around 4:50 pm. I have celiac disease, meaning I cannot eat anything that has gluten in it. Ben & Jerry's as a company has branded itself as being inclusive of food allergies and restrictions, but our experience at this store did not match the main company's values. There is literally a sign inside the store saying "tell us if you have an allergy, and we will accommodate you." So I had asked them if they can open a fresh ice cream bin with a fresh scooper, and was told that they could not do this because the ones out on display were the only ones that were thawed out. So, I have an allergy but they did not accommodate me. The employees also seemed blindsided by this request and annoyed at me for asking, which tells me they were not trained in any type of allergy protocol. If this is the case, that is very concerning to have that sign inside the store displayed. Go ahead and replace it by saying you will not accommodate allergies, as that is the actual truth. Needless to say I will never be coming back to this store again after this very poor customer service, being made to feel like a nuisance and being denied just for trying to follow my diet that I have to for my lifelong health. I'll add this to the list of establishments that have made me feel small.

Yelp
I was craving something sweet after dinner and was excited to learn that there was a Ben & Jerry's nearby! The gals working there on Saturday were all very friendly and sweet.

Yelp
I always buy anything chocolate or caramel in any ice cream shop because I am not a color or fruity person.. But when after a year of not visiting B&J, as I walked in here, there was one color of ice cream that got my attention, The Marshmallow Sky... I got 2 scoops of that in a medium cup.. Holy cow, not too sweet but the delight was there, it was creamy, soft and the taste of it with some solid chocolate and marshmallow was interesting... If I am not watching my food intake I would love a second round of this one.. I hope my next visit , this flavor is still available...

Yelp
First time coming here. I usually buy Ben & Jerry's ice creams in the stores. But today I decided to try it out the ice cream shop. We both came inside. The line was quick. The employee was nice with me. I order two ice creams. I ordered the chunky money and another flavor I forgot the name of. But I was so good.

Yelp
10/10 experience! Ice cream was incredible as always, portion sizes were large, and the music was awesome (s/o to the incredibly kind employee playing LOTRs and other movie soundtracks, give her a raise)!

Yelp
Went to Ben & Jerry's after seeing a concert at the Blue Note. I ordered a brownie sundae with Triple Caramel Chunk Ice Cream (caramel ice cream with a swirl of caramel & fudge-covered caramel chunks) & Marshmallow Sky Ice Cream (marshmallows ice cream with marshmallow swirls & globs of chocolate chip cookie dough & chocolate chocolate chip cookie dough). I topped it with whipped cream, warm caramel, & rainbow sprinkles. My sundae was GREAT!! It was the perfect treat after the concert!

Yelp
This is our go-to date night dessert spot whenever we're in Napa -- mainly because they have multiple non-dairy options for me (I'm lactose intolerant)! There is plenty of street parking available and a parking lot across the street. Pro tip - if you have an electric car, they have two free Chargepoint chargers to use in this lot which is super convenient. We came here last weekend and as always the store employee there was very kind and helpful. There is about two or three tables inside to sit at. The store itself is clean as well. I ordered a medium cup of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (non-dairy). Although it's non-dairy, I really can't tell the difference. There is always a good amount of cookie dough bits in there, which is my favorite part. I usually buy this flavor in the tub from the store, and I will say it's a lot more affordable. A medium size cup here actually costs a little more than buying a tub of it from Target... but we enjoy the ambiance of this part of Napa and the convenience of getting ice cream we both like after dinner. We'll probably be back here next time we're in town!

Yelp
Ambiance: poor Service: Spotty Ice Cream: Just OK I'll be experimenting with other flavors in the future.

Yelp
Stopped in here yesterday afternoon with my bf with his suggestion, for me it was my first time, I had only tried their pint sizes they sell at the grocery store, so I was excited! We just had a big meal, so we split 2 scoops of their Coconut Seven Layer Bar after trying a sample and it was delicious! Immediately after trying my first bite I tasted notes of toasted coconut, my favorite, then rich butterscotch mm! I was in heaven and it felt good having dessert again, ha ha goodbye diet, hello sweets! I would highly recommend stopping into this well known ice cream shop next time your in Napa and try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed! They sell smoothies, shakes, ice cream bars, sundaes, cones, pints, waffle bowls and they make cakes as well! I know we'll definitely be back, maybe try their waffle bowl next time!

Yelp
Cute and friendly ice cream shop, was so excited to go since we don't have one in Sacramento. All the flavors i've grown up to know and samples of others that I haven't bought because a pint is a big commitment. The palor was clean and neat, menu was easy to read. I enjoyed my ice cream on the patio enjoying the view of downtown Napa.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday afternoon and there was no line at all so we took our time picking the flavors. The staff there was very patient and was very nice to point out some of the flavors we were looking for. There are 2 tables at the store front for outdoor dinning. The tables are clean and the side walk wasn't crowded at all so we enjoyed our time there.
google avatar

Joanne D.

Yelp
The ice-cream was great, however the ice-cream list on the sign is different than the ice cream in the case. It would be great if we didn't have to weave between people who are ordering to see what the flavors are and what is in them. Also, I asked for a small and somehow got talked into a large without realizing it and didn't finish it.

Yelp
We did NOT eat here, this review is for disappointment over the unclear hours. Per Yelp, they're open until 9pm daily. My sister and I drove here from Fairfield, been planning this for over a week because we were craving non-dairy Ben & Jerry's scoops so badly. Walked up at 7:06pm and they were closed - so disappointed. The sign says they're open 1-7 daily. I get it with COVID, no hard feelings for closing early, but definitely hard feelings for keeping the Yelp & online hours posted incorrectly. Obviously going back another day to actually get a scoop, but seriously bummed.

Yelp
Best ice cream in town, at least close to where I reside. I love the variety of changing flavors and the location of this one. My only one off star deal is that when there's a long line, there's no extra employees that are also there... Especially on a weekend, does it not make sense. Even Yo-belle, Cream and Baskin Robins has extra help. Wish there was a Cold Stone out here too!

Crystal H.

Yelp
I was very upset and taken back by the rude service my daughter and I received today at Ben and Jerry shop. We came for a nice daughter mother date and was treated as we we an inconvenience. We were waiting in line when a couple cut in front of us and instead male server of asking them to wait he proceeded to take their orders and even when I spoke up that we were actually ready. The male server stared at me rudely and treated me as if I was trying to cut the line. He then ignored me and paid more attention to the other couple. The female server however was very kind and attentive. Ben and Jerry management train your employees better. We should not have to be rudely ignored or look down upon and have our experience there be ruined. Would have given this zero star review had it not been for the kind female server

Yelp
Yikes, the ice cream looks like it's been sitting around forever. My Cherry Garcia didn't taste right and the waffle cone was STALE. My friend's Buzzbuzzbuzz coffee ice cream with fudge chips was half melted when he received his cone. Will not return. It's better to stop by Safeway for better Ben and Jerry's, the only thing interesting was their ice cream lip balms for 2.99 that look and taste like their ice creams.
google avatar

Michelle F.

Yelp
Meh. The coconut seven layer bar ice cream is only available at this location. We tried that as well as the coffee coffee buzz buzz buzz and a cherry Garcia milkshake. The milkshake was watery in consistency-so a no go. The ice cream was good- recommend trying the coconut seven layer bar.

Maelani A.

Yelp
Came all the way from Benicia to get Ben and Jerry ice Cream.. It was closed. The store operating time says it's open until 9pm today.. and it is CLOSED

Yelp
Quiet & Chill spot. Wish the AC was cooler on a hot day. Icecream was great like any Ben & Jerry's. Came here on a Saturday afternoon 95 degrees, no busy lines were calm and quiet.

Jeanie B.

Yelp
Great little shop; owner and other servers are friendly and welcoming. The ice cream was so creamy and tasted a ton better than the Ben and Jerry's at the supermarket....Lots of rotating flavors to choose from.
google avatar

Mel H.

Yelp
The Lemon sorbet was so wonderful! It was light, refreshing, sweet and tart...all the adjectives. Reminiscent of Dole Whip. We had the freshly baked waffle cone Bowl, and that was tasty, too! Highly recommend stopping here if you are in Napa.

Yelp
This is so nasty the the ice cream melts and they are telling customers nothings wrong with it. Ice cream has raw eggs in it. It can make you sick

Yelp
Hi everyone! I have worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry for 14 years, and I take most bad reviews with a grain of salt. I have waited since the incident to review because I was so incredibly upset, if I could give zero stars I would. And this review is for Roger Bubel and how terrible he made this franchises customer service look. I booked Ben & Jerry's to cater my wedding back in February for August 11th, 2018. We chose Ben & Jerry's because we love their ice cream and aren't much of cake people. I found it fishy that they did not require a deposit for the off-site catering but I kept checking in every couple of months to follow up making sure we were all set. I was an event planner for years so it is in my nature to follow up. When I followed up via email the week of my wedding on August 8th, Roger responded with a simple: "Unfortunately, I have just had emergency knee surgery, so I am unable to cater your Event my apologies Roger Bubel Ben & Jerry's Napa" I responded of course apologetic for his surgery but so confused how being such a large successful company, how they couldn't send anyone else out, the wedding was in 3 days and our 200 person wedding was dessert-less. I was firm but still had sympathy for him just getting surgery. He responded to my response with: "sorry, surgery just happened, fracture do not know of others who cater this" So I called the Napa location, and by that email I was under the impression he had literally just had surgery and couldn't work. Well he answered the phone. And then he went on to laugh at me and was very condescending, without ANY sincere apology. He told me to call the catering headquarters in San Francisco, which if he had any respect for the reputation of Ben & Jerry's that should be his job. We ended up getting Cold Stone, which was fine, and their customer service was absolutely flawless, but it was not the same as having my favorite ice cream, Ben & Jerry's. Everyone at my wedding knows of this incident because I had boasted in excitement about having Ben & Jerry's instead of cake, so naturally they were wondering what happened. I hope you take a big consideration into hiring people like Roger who really don't seem to care about the service they provide to your community, because he really needs some hospitality training. I consult in customer service, and he was atrocious to work with. Kind regards, Rashell

Yelp
Great locally owned place to get Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Great customer service and always happy with this place. Thanks

Yelp
What can I say, their ice cream is Ben and Jerry's so it was good. I had the Chocolate Brownie which is my favorite. Not a lot of seating but that's ok since most people get their stuff to go. The girl behind the counter was friendly and efficient (she did have a lot of friends that stopped by to buy some ice cream while we were there).

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon as we were craving for ice cream and it was the closest one. Customer Service was non existent. It was like we were bothering them when we got there. The lady was training a new employee I guess- and for some reason she trained her to give half scoops? I am just not used to ice cream places being so stingy with their product. The lady was not very forthcoming either, you can add toppings for a price but she did not tell me the part where it is extra $$. At least give me a FULL scoop like Baskin Robbins does!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great service , love the ice cream and the location. Chairs and tables always clean and ready to go. Nicespot to bisit when going by.

Yelp
After a good lunch in Napa downtown, if you are craving for ice cream then look no further

Yelp
Best hot fudge Sunday's in town, worth the wait. Not to mention helpful and friendly staff. Make sure to tip these hard workers!
