Google
4 Stars – Convenient, Clean, and Classic Ben & Jerry’s This Ben & Jerry’s location is clean, well maintained, and conveniently situated, definitely a plus if you’re in the area and craving something sweet. The ice cream is exactly what you’d expect: rich, flavorful, and full of those signature mix ins the brand is known for. Service was fine, nothing exceptional, but perfectly adequate. There’s not a ton more to say; if you’re looking for reliably good ice cream in a clean, easy to access spot, this is a solid choice.

Google
I’m so happy that Ben and Jerry’s was open later, my bf works late so it was good to get ice cream at the oceanfront when other stores were good. They gave us many samples of the ice cream and they were helpful! 4 stars because my ice cream had too big of chunks of chocolate in it (personal preference of course) and it was a bit expensive and there was no where to sit. Overall amazing time!

Google
I ordered a small size which could has 2 ice cream scoops. The mint chocolate chunk and chocolate fudge brownie were perfectly combination. I’m so in love with it. The staff were so nice. I will come back again.

Google
Yummy yummy ice cream! Very large portions and great options. Pricey but get your money's worth

Google
The place nice and clean. Staff friendly. Just wish it wasn't so expensive. I wish they had kiddie cones or cups. Instead of having to pay 10.00 for a cone and it melts or they can't eat the whole thing because it's too bog for them. Prices are ridiculous.

Google
How in the world can they get away with charging over $10 for a SINGLE miniscule scoop of ice cream with a waffle cone?! It's less than $2 worth of ingredients. I would have never went here, if I had known ahead of time. Most definitely, I ASSURE you, I will never again get reamed like this. HIGHLY overrated!

Google
Love Ben and Jerry's. First time ever going into a store. Only ever had it by the cup things from Walmart! Very impressed! Need one in cheboygam michigan lol

Google
We love B&J and this little shop is really nice. Thanks a lot for the little cup of whipped cream fit my doggy. I love customer service and dog friendly stores and staff

Yelp
Ben and Jerry's is tasty Ice Cream! Staff was nice and got all the orders ready promptly. Good flow for the line as the store holds a few tables n chairs. But on this particular occasion after visiting this location my friends and I all had a bit of tummy trouble. Not sure why but once our bodies expelled everything, we definitely felt better.

Yelp
Good Ice cream, good sundaes and shakes. Fast staff, but u might need a small loan if you have a decent sized family. No seating, so grab it and head on your way.

Yelp
Went to purchase some pints. I was unable to because they had a free ice cream give away! The dairy free cheesecake and chocolate chip cookie dough were very good. I couldn't tell it was dairy free.

Yelp
Unfortunately we could not truly review this establishment. I so wish I would have checked out Yelp before planning on stopping by on a Tuesday evening. Had the family on the beach this evening then stopped here to get some ice cream. I wish I knew they do not accept cash payments here and unfortunately that is all I had on hand today. We did not find out until after a 20 wait in line to see paper sign stating they only take credit or debt card payments, no mo-la. I would recommend you post this somewhere before entering so this doesn't happen to anyone else in the future. So we came back the next day and brought plastic payment. The ice cream was decent. Typical Ben & Jerry's Ice cream. We did order two small waffle cones with chocolate dip on them but ended up getting one regular and one with sprinkles. At this point we just settled. The employees had a thick accent and were very difficult to understand and understand what we were saying. Now when I say pricey I mean you are paying way to much for what you get here. I picked up pint for $4 at a grocery store near the beach. I would pass and hit up a local ice cream establishment instead of coming back here.

Yelp
Ice cream was fresh and delicious! Staff was super patient and I was served with a smile! It was a little pricy but great atmosphere.

Yelp
It's always exciting to find a new dairy free ice cream flavor. It was pretty expensive so I only got the 2 scoops in a cup. Sprinkles are a whole dollar extra. strawberry Marshmallow

Yelp
Will not return to this location ever again. Ordered a banana split that clearly states 3 scoops of icecream, Hershey chocolate, banana, caramel and your Choice of 2 toppings. The Asian guy with piercings left my caramel off and did not give me 2 toppings, was only given peanuts. When I showed him my phone from their website to show it states caramel and 2 toppings. He tried to argue with me and then rolled his eyes and twisted off saying I'll give you the caramel in a rude tone. I told him to just keep it. While sitting having my ice cream, I overhear him standing behind the counter talking junk about the situation to his coworker. (Very unprofessional) If you're charging a customer almost $14 for a banana split, at-least give them what they paid for. He clearly does not know his menu at all and has a terrible attitude. It wasn't even busy in the ice cream shop and he seemed very rushy and annoyed at any questions asked. Also, all workers should hold their coworkers accountable if they are in the wrong. Not just jump on the bandwagon and agree even tho the customer is not being given what they paid for.

Yelp
It's so crowded to be such a pretty day, so that made the ice cream even sweeter. I love all their flavors. Even when there's a line, the wait isn't long at all. The workers are very diligent about keeping the outdoor tables clean. I love this location!

Yelp
Centrally located...yummy ice cream! We came across this location as we walked along Atlantic Ave. The Summer season has came and went, therefore businesses are not booming along the avenue. My daughter wanted ice cream and we decided on this spot. We walked in and was surprised to see any empty store, well no other customers were present. And on this Summer like day in September, the weather was super beautiful so eating ice cream didn't seem to far fetch. I had a difficult time choosing a flavor, but I settled on butter pecan. The store features at least 20 flavors maybe more. A waffle cone with two scoops for me and a sprinkled sugar cone with one scoop of butter pecan for my baby. The ice cream was delicious. The cones were not super fresh, but edible of course. Whereas we'd normally finish the entire cone and only have the napkin left in hand. But once the ice cream was gone I tossed the cone and noticed my daughter tossed hers too...well after she ate the sprinkles off the cone. After about five minutes, customers started to enter in by two's... this may be the go to place for ice cream along the strip. The prices are reasonable for the quality/quantity of ice cream received. I'd suggest the cones should be made freshER...I wouldn't mind waiting for freshness especially on a slow day like this day. Keep in mind you are able to sample flavors as well before making your final selection. Have fun and enjoy life!

Yelp
Perfectly fine ice cream but $10 with tax for a regular size in a waffle cone. Staff not wearing masks for COVID-19. So all in all, I'd avoid. Kilwins better and cheaper. To be clear as a follow up to owner reply below -- not a single member of the staff was wearing a mask. Not even pretending to wear a mask. None of them.

Yelp
I'm sad to Write this review. The ice cream was delicious and I spent 8 dollars on a pint and couldn't finish it because there were bits of paper throughout the whole thing.

Yelp
We went in there today to get some ice cream since someone have us some coupons. The place is small nice and clean the staff are pretty friendly and seem to be working really hard. There were lot of choices and options for your ice cream and that was a good thing. I ended up getting a big ice cream and free one. On a hot summer day people are lining up for this delicious ice cream.

Yelp
Visited here for a late night snack. My boyfriends parents received coupons from the hotel that they stayed at, the coupon was good for one large ice cream cone and you will receive a small ice cream cone for free so that's what we did lol immediately we all were greeted. there was one girl that was a working the counter and giving out ice cream of course. she was really pleasant which is always nice to see. I usually don't eat ice cream (I've gotten accustomed to frozen yogurt ) but you know sometimes I get a taste for ice cream. I got the Caramell flavor and a scoop of the mint chocolate a weird commission but they really taste good. Thankful I had a coupon because I probably wouldn't have gone in without one. this location was right near the boardwalk so after we got our ice cream We were able to also enjoy the ocean and walk the boardwalk so woot woot

Yelp
On a nice hot day, a thick cold creamy milkshake is what hits the spot! We are both fans of Half Baked Ben & Jerrys pints, so we went to the store front to try it out. My husband and I ordered two, large, half baked milkshakes, and our friend ordered a large chocolate peanut butter ice cream, in a cup. He enjoyed his ice cream, but I did not enjoy my shake! We had a brand new employee (the cashier mentioned it) make our shakes and it was the consistency of watered down chocolate milk. I knew something was wrong when I saw she made our shakes together in one blender, which is ok, but then half of what was in the blender, once she filled up our cups, was Poured Down the Sink, in other words, to much milk and ice, not enough ice cream. There was nothing Half Baked about it. I took a couple sips and was actually kind of disgusted. I asked my husband if he wanted mine and he refused which is a sign. Him refusing Ben and Jerrys ice cream is something that never happens. We should have saved our money on that place and gotten real Ben & Jerrys in pints from the 7-11 around the corner! Very disappointing but we were already a few blocks down, and didn't want to turn around and ask to have them remade.

Yelp
Amazing service. The peanut butter/chocolate milkshake is great. There is outdoor seating. Just note they are only taking cards--no cash.

Jessica C.

Yelp
Very yummy ice cream for sure however it seems very pricy. Lots of flavors to choose from though so that's nice :)

Ryan H.

Yelp
I love visiting Ben and Jerry's whenever I'm at the oceanfront. In my opinion the portions are a little small but for the rest the taste is really good.

Kelly S.

Yelp
The ice cream once you get it is very good but this shop is run by all young kids with very rude service and very small serving size .. The store it self is a dirty mess.. Floors have not been mopped in ages, garbage cans overflowing .. The prices are out of sight high as well .. You can do much better at other places .
google avatar

Yelp
First visit to Ben & Jerry's and probably won't really go back. I had a coupon to buy one get one which is only why we went. My family owns a Hershey Ice Cream place so thats what I normally prefer. One I hated they had no seating and half of it melted and ended up on the ground before I ate it (and I eat very fast). Mainly it was because it was half out of the container bc I got the large (per the coupon).. Staff was friendly and ice cream was good but not worth throwing $7 away.
google avatar

Taylor F.

Yelp
Fast service and many delicious options. The price range is a bit high considering the amount you receive. The half baked milkshake is a good choice.
google avatar

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
BEWARE OF CLEANLINESS! Had nothing to eat all day. After having only a smoothie from this Ben & Jerry's, 1-2 hours later I was sick with stomach cramps and vomiting the rest of day and into the night with dry heaves and couldn't hold anything down.
google avatar

Tinn H.

Yelp
Not too bad. But the ice cream was too sweet for me although I chose the espresso flavor .
google avatar

Alexis I.

Yelp
Any time i tasted an ice cream, it would melt off the stick. I believe that all of their ice cream was melting. Plus, they weren't willing to give any compensation for their melted ice. Would not recommend to anyone.
google avatar

Angela N.

Yelp
Ice cream tasted good but it just wasn't hard enough, a bit too soft/runny. Other downside was price, 3 of us had kid size cones and cost was almost $15. That's a bit ridiculous. But location was convenient to our hotel and beach.
google avatar

Ralph B.

Yelp
Open sides, great service, and atmosphere make for a fun time (the ice cream does too)
google avatar

Doug C.

Yelp
Actually, not closed. Maybe it's open only seasonally, but it was certainly open last week. It's a perfect location to stop and grab some ice cream; just a block away from the boardwalk. As you'd expect, it's similar to other Ben and Jerry's stores with a mix of ice cream, smoothies and lattes. The staff was very helpful here; I went to ask for a banana smoothie and the clerk steered me away from that. (His words: "Have you tried them? They're awful.") Instead, he convinced me to try the mango smoothie which was great. Prices are moderate, in the $3-5 range for most items.

Yelp
Snipped a coupon for Ben & Jerrys for 'buy 1 get 1 free' when I went to get some ice cream I walked in the door and was greeted by a lady that I couldnt understand. I thought she said, " 10 minutes til close" but she said "welcome to ben & jerrys". I told her I had a coupon & I began to get a large waffle cone with my free small cone. Waffle cones are extra, for BOTH. Free one as well. She rang me up and my total was still $9.30!!! For ice cream??? It was good, but not for that much.
google avatar

Tux P.

Yelp
Expensive, especially for the amount you get. Also, when I asked for a cherry on my Sundae, I was informed that they don't do cherries because they're not "all-natural". Come on... Gummy Bears are all-natural, but cherries aren't? Look for other, better options in the area.
google avatar

Alexis M.

Yelp
My mom ordered me a cookie cookie sundae here with chunky monkey and mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was pretty good but I had better to be honest. It was refreshing after a long day though.

Yelp
I love Ben & Jerry's ice cream -- not only do they have creative and delicious flavors, but their hippie mission of making the Earth a better place is much appreciated. They have lots of fun, recognizable flavors here -- Phish Food, Cherry Garcia, Americone Dream -- but I went for one I had not yet seen before. Late Night Snack, inspired by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, features vanilla ice cream with a salty caramel swirl and fudge covered potato chips. Recently becoming a salty & sweet fiend (taking after my mom Linda C.!), it was the one that I had to try. I wish I could have tasted more potato chip -- it ended up just been a fudgy crispy ball (not that I'm complaining). I would've gotten Creme Brulee in a heartbeat, but they didn't have it. Everyone gobbled up their ice cream -- its the Ben & Jerry way! -- as we sat in the corner, reading all the interesting facts decorating the table we were at. I had no idea, but apparently Ben & Jerry paid $5 for a correspondence course on how to make ice cream in the 70's, and that's how Ben & Jerry's was born. Overall, definitely the best ice cream spot on the boardwalk. I only wish they had more flavors to choose from!
google avatar

Hayley F.

Yelp
We walked a few blocks to visit the shop. It's not often you get to have Ben & Jerrys scooped and served to you. We also received a coupon from our hotel for buy one get one free! The gentleman was slammed working by himself with a line to the street. The ice cream was amazing! Really fresh, no freezer burn, etc, and the cone complimented it. Overall the ice cream was delicious and the wait went quickly.
google avatar

Steven M.

Yelp
Ice cream is great, service was good but the ice cream melted so hasn't and was only 80 degrees out. Not really the place fault. What they are responsible for is that the cups are so small my large cup is still so small. 3 scoops of ice cream and was everywhere. I advice the fresh cones
google avatar

Zahra D.

Yelp
They do not wear gloves, which is gross. I understand you think there is no contact bc the cones have paper and you use scoopers, but you still should have them on when serving ready to serve food. An employees bare hands touched the ice cream when scooping out a sample. That was my cue to leave. Wear gloves and change frequently. This is the only b& j I've seen that did not care.
google avatar

Ciara B.

Yelp
Loved that it was so close to our hotel. We stayed across the street at the Courtyard by Marriott. The employees were quick and friendly. They even recognized us when we came in 2 days in a row. Lines move quickly.

Yelp
First, I don't give many 5 star reviews. 4 stars is normal for me. I am in VA Beach often for business and vacation and there is nothing better than ice cream at the beach. I was on my way back home after a short business trip in early June (before tourist season) and stopped at this Ben & Jerry's for my fix. I asked for a list of the gluten free flavors since I have Celiac. I chose 1 scoop of chocolate peanut butter and 1 scoop of Cherry Garcia. I wish I knew the girl's name who helped me. All I remember is bright pink eye shadow. She asked if it was preference or allergy and when I said allergy she went to the back to get new, clean utensils. I have gotten sick from cross contamination so I really appreciated this! She smiled and chatted the whole time she was working. She also scraped the top layer of ice cream away (which could have been cross contaminated) and used a different clean utensil to scoop my ice cream. This was a process and it took her a little longer but I never sensed any negativity from her (as I have in other people who make it feel like an inconvenience). Can't wait to be back next month with my family.
google avatar

April F.

Yelp
Of course 5 stars are deserved here - its ice cream! And Ben and Jerry's at that! I had a large waffle cone which comes with three scoops of ice cream - chunky monkey (my fav), butter pecan, and chocolate peanut butter! All were delish and tasted even better at the beach! My daughter got a small sprinkle cone with cookies and cream and chocolate brownie ice cream! She loved hers as well!

Yelp
drove all the way down here for free cone day at 7:30 and they were closed drove to another location which was also closed early no signs on the door or any explanation

Yelp
We had just come from dinner in Pungo and were on our way back home and decided to find out if any ice cream shops were open on Atlantic Ave. To our surprise, this one was - in February. When I walked in, I said, "I'm surprised to find you open." The oriental girl (I'm sorry I didn't catch your name!), said, in a STRAIGHT face, "But, we are closed." I'm so gullible anyway, I actually believed they were about to close. When I realized she was kidding, she had me laughing so hard!! She was so patient with us and made us laugh a few more times. She's a real asset. Again, I'm so sorry I didn't get your name, but I did call your boss on the way out and he knew exactly who I was talking about. Thank you for making me laugh and the great service. Keep up the good work!
google avatar

Sherry G.

Yelp
They closed way earlier than said closing time two days in a row ... still didn't get the ice cream yet , will check again today.
google avatar

Jeanie F.

Yelp
Used a coupon for a Buy One, Get One Free that we got from our early dinner. Was really good for dessert!!!
google avatar

Jessa H.

Yelp
Came across this particular Ben and Jerry's location while walking down Atlantic Ave in Virginia Beach. Also had a coupon but that didn't really help much because the total came to about $11 for two cones anyway. Granted, one was a large cone but still...I know Ben and Jerry's is good ice cream but no one should be paying that much. The restaurant itself was clean but they didn't have a working bathroom when I was there, which was upsetting because I really had to use the bathroom. If I'm ever here again I probably wouldn't get Ben and Jerry's. I'd rather go to Kohrs Bros which is just down the street if you walk about 5 more minutes.
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
There are a lot of places to get ice cream along Atlantic. If you're having a hard time making a decision, I suggest going with a classic. Ben & Jerry's is always amazing. Nothing frostbitten. Just great fresh ice cream.

Tara T.

Yelp
Line was busy but the servers kept up wonderfully. The ice cream flavors were amazing! Everyone was friendly and the service was quick. Ice cream was great!!

Meghan D.

Yelp
I enjoyed the selection that they offered here. A lot of cool flavors, similar to the ones you'd find in a supermarket. It also offered soft serve which was great. All I got was a chocolate milk shake but it was good. My friend wanted to get a soft serve twist, but unfortunately they were out of chocolate soft serve. Wasn't surprised due to the crowd. Definitely a good pit stop for a sweet treat.
google avatar

Christa C.

Yelp
Says they're open 10-10pm everyday. Showed up at 9pm and closed. People closing said they close at 9. UPDATE YOUR OUTGOING MESSAGE

Yelp

Yelp
Ben and Jerry's is soooo good. Ice cream with all the delicious flavors you want and love. The workers are so nice and let you sample as many flavors as you want. They even had the flavor I had been looking for with peanut butter cookie dough in it :) Definitely go if you are looking for some sweet, delicious ice cream!

Susan S.

Yelp
Real live Ben and Jerry's! Not just from my freezer. The best fresh waffle cone ever. Cherry Garcia was wonderful. Mint chocolate chip excelled. My daughter's plain chocolate milk shake was a delight. Prices were a little high, but like everyone else, we had a Buy a Large and get a Small free coupon. Can't beat that.

Allen C.

Yelp
My gluten free wife wanted to eat at Taste on our last night in town so I carried a thirty pound toddler six blocks from our hotel passing two ice cream stores along the way. We decided to have a lighter meal than planned and save room for a little desert on the way home. I wanted to stop at Hershey's, but my wife loves Ben & Jerry's and they have no locations near our home so we chose them - big mistake. As usual my wife asked for the allergen menu because she actually has Celiac disease and is not on a fad diet. Her question was received as if she was speaking a foreign language. Eventually she was provided a binder to browse through in an attempt to order something safe. While she was doing that I ordered my toddler a kid size chocolate cone which happened to be the only order they got right. What happened next could best be described as an Asian episode of Laverne and Shirley except it wasn't funny even though it was April Fool's Day. There were only two families in the store the whole time, but instead of each employee taking one family each, they both filled part of each order to the extent that one scoop of my waffle cone special was scooped by one and the second by the other. This means the person ringing us up did not know what we actually got so despite me trying to explain it, the language barrier meant I was overcharged. I knew it, but frankly I just wanted to get this over with by now. Then the other server told the cashier she had rung my wife's up as a double scoop when she had only ordered and received a single. Since I had paid by debit card their solution was to recall my wife's small cup and pile another scoop on top of the first. My ice cream was good, but the fact the plain waffle cone was so stale I could barely chew it ruined the experience. Only chocolate coated waffle cones were on display so I have no idea where they came up with it after some searching. Anyone considering Ben & Jerry's might be better served by walking down the street a little to either Hershey's or the Salt Water Taffy store.
