Bendita Locura - Review - Salamanca - Madrid - The Infatuation

"Bendita Locura is for leisurely brunches that’ll keep you full until dinner. While you can get coffee and breakfast items à la carte (there are also lunch, dinner, and wine menus), the €25 prix fixe brunch and €20 little brunch are their specialty, and a great value for the price. Begin with a creamy, beet-based pink latte, a nutrient-packed smoothie, and a sweet treat like crisped waffles topped with Nutella or a matcha chia pudding, before moving to the main course, like a crowd-pleaser eggs benedict. If you’re extra hungry, the roast beef sandwich overflowing with thinly sliced beef, arugula, and tomato in tartar sauce is the move. Dine indoors, which feels both contemporary and cozy at the same time, thanks to the distressed leather sofas and a fireplace. You can sit outside, but heavy street traffic makes eating and chatting not as pleasant." - Lori Zaino

So yummy - the shashuka was perfecto! Great brunch menu where you pick 3 or 5 options depending on which menu you choose.

This place is great for brunch! It was 20 euros for a latte, chia pudding, and a main. I am assuming that the other mains tasted good because I got the chicken and waffles and it was terrible. I could not finish it. It made me so sad because I LOVE WAFFLES, but the waffles was way too sweet and tasted very artificially vanilla. The texture was stale and the fried chicken on top was kind of Asian? Almost like sweet and sour. I had a lovely experience and I LOVED the pink latte but PLEASE DO NOT ORDER THE CHICKEN AND WAFFLES! My friend ordered the shakshuka and liked it so maybe go with that.

Service was good and they have great brunch options. Loved the truffled eggs.

I don't know why this place is popular... Let's start with the service. There were enough waiters to be attentive to the customers. Around 15 minutes it took to take our order, and the treatment was horrifying. All hectic all the time, throwing the plates and interrupting while asking the order. Then, the place is so small, that you will never be comfortable. So expect being bumped by people passing by you or with other chairs behind you. And last, the food. Let's start with the menu: How is it that they offer you two "brunch menus" so if you don't want that amount of food, you have to take it either way because at the end the price won't change. Then, we ordered the shashuka and roast beef sandwich. They were OK, but forget to actually taste the roast beef as they paired it up with a strong taste bread and sauce, which made the taste of the roast beef to disappeared. We also had the nutella waffle, but we were so desperate to leave that I forgot yo take a picture to it. Overall, disappointment... The name of the restaurant it's actually very appropriate for the experience: Bendita Locura...

Nice place for brunch. But, make sure you make a reservation before. We sat outside in cold weather 🥶😅 The food is nice. They have brunch set menu with options: - Classic brunch menu at Euro 23 per person, or - Little brunch menu at Euro 18. We picked the little brunch: coffee, primero & segundo. We added waffle for sharing. Good place for spend good food with good friends.

Went for the Classic as it was more choices and value for money. Basically, gained the juice and the French toast for €5 more. That said, it was more than I could handle alone and it would have been good to go with company to share. The server was helpful pulling up an English menu on her phone as I was struggling with connection. I particularly enjoyed that they used onsen tamago (slow cooked eggs Japanese way) instead of poached egg for the eggs benedict. Unexpected and it worked well.

Great vibe and service. The brunch classic menu is quite nice! the yoghurt and pancakes were delicious. And the pink latte is quite tasty! a lot of food for a good price. Highly recommend it.

My sister and I recently visited this place for brunch during our Madrid trip. Even though the taste, and flavor of the food didn't exactly meet our expectation, I enjoyed the service and the food presentation. The price is pretty reasonable for the 5 course meal also. We didn't like the egg benedict and the shakshuka the most. The waiter gave us free cheesecake in return, which was very nice of him. Like i said, the service was great. and i hope the food taste get better. i might visit again if i am in Madrid again.

Yelp
Delicious! Had the avocado toast with egg, a cappuccino and a pink latte, all of which were amazing. All of the pastries looked great as well. Service was prompt and friendly! Nice place to bring your dog on the patio if you have one. Up and downstairs seating with clean facilities!

Yelp
Looks good but my advice- get reservations. It was packed so likely it's good but we didn't have reservations so we left- making a reservation for tomorrow though.

Yelp
During a recent visit to Madrid my family and I dined discovered this gem across the street from our hotel. We dined at Bendita Locura on a couple of days. First visit was late in the afternoon and we all had drinks and light snacks (crepes with ice cream and nutella were awesome) while seated outside. Second visit was for breakfast before we headed off to go sight seeing. The main dining area was a bit busy and we graciously accepted a nice table on the lower level. Food was plentiful and was one of our favorite dining experiences during our trip. Definitely recommended!

Yelp
After suffering jet lag and a time zone change, I woke up later than I expected (I am from the USA). I still wanted breakfast, and apparently Spain does brunch very well. This place came highly recommended on Yelp, so I decided to give it a go. I am glad I did! You get served 5 separate courses over brunch. I throughly enjoyed my coffee, my fresh squeezed orange juice, my Greek yogurt, my waffle and my bagel sandwich (all pictured). The food was yummy and the staff was very friendly. Couple things to note, you need reservations. This seems to be a common thing in Madrid, so be prepared to do this. Prepare enough time for your brunch, it is a meal meant to spend time with whomever you are with having a nice conversation, plan on at least 60-90 minutes for the whole meal.

Yelp
Brunch is served from 10:00 am. That is the best option. Good eggs Benedictine. And service was very good

Yelp
I was recommended by a friend to try their brunch, and I was satisfied with the meal I had! I ordered the mini brunch. It was the eggs benedict with bacon on a bagel and it comes with tea, smoothie, and a jar of water. The holandaise sauce was amazing. The service was great! The people who work there are friendly! Definetely recommended place to eat! Just one suggestion, maybe you want to reserve if you want to be there for the brunch because the place gets full.

Yelp
Americano and brunch. Quiche, croissant and eggs benedict was fresh and flavorful. Waffle and nutella was a plus sweetener!

Yelp
Delicious. Eggs Benedict with salmon was perfect. Corn in my salad was extra sweet. Everything was fresh and service was excellent. Food could've came out quicker but you can tell they take their time for a great meal.

Yelp
A lovely cafe and restaurant in Salamanca with friendly staff and a yummy looking menu. I arrived way too early for dinner (the toll of jet lag) -- but the staff served a terrific, warm bagel de amapola and copa ribera duero roble -- just what I needed hours after landing in Madrid. The music is funky but non-intrusive, the art and atmosphere are divine. A great place for a weary traveler who wanted to hear only Spanish spoken!

Yelp
After trying a few times to have a meal here we finally made it and it was really worth the wait. Enjoyed a delicious beef stroganoff served in a bowl of warm fresh bread. Great service and a great vibe. Will definitely return!

Yelp
Found this tapas bar on Yelp, and was very happy! Convenient, with nice tables outside and fantastic waiters (who speak little English, but tried really hard to overcome my non-exist any Spanish!). The first course of hummus and tabouleh salad were good, but the bull's tail sliders with avocado were amazing!! Well worth a visit just for these, even if the beer menu is disappointingly limited to Heineken and Amstel. There is no English menu, but don't let that stop you from visiting this great tapas bar.
