"Situated in a bohemian part of the city, the modern bistro vibe perfectly suits this simply decorated restaurant that carries its unfussy ethos through into the cooking. Chef-Owner Richard Bainbridge is proud of his Norfolk roots and an ambassador for the region’s larder, and his understated dishes rely on top quality ingredients to lead the way. They serve a range of menus, varying in length and with vegetarian and, on request, vegan options available. For those looking for a lighter bite, sit outside and order small plates from the Alfresco menu." - Michelin Inspector

This is an excellent, unpretentious fine dining restaurant. The service was brilliant - warm and friendly and attentive. We had the fantastic tasting menu with wine flight. Highly recommend. The food and wine were delicious. We added aperitif 🍾, cheese course with port and coffee / petit fours and the bill was around £260.

Absolutely amazing, you don't go here to only eat, you go for an experience. The taster menu was a treat for my taste buds. Many flavours going on but it works. I imagine a huge amount of research and experimentation goes into these little work of art dishes. Picky eaters won't appreciate it. The staff are friendly and extremely attentive. My only little niggle was it would have been nice to have a side of bread or potatoes, just to balance out the richness of the meats and sauces. If you are on budget save up, as the bill came to £181 for 2 people. It was our 3rd wedding anniversary so well worth it. I wouldn't normally spend that much on a meal out unless it was a special occasion. But I would if I could!

They have the best lemon tart in the world! Traveled all the way from another side of the world for the lemon tart and it didn’t disappoint me. Very thin crust and the filling has the perfect balance of sour and sweet! We enjoyed every bite of it. Staff are super friendly and they really enjoy their job. The chef, Richard, is definitely the soul of this restaurant. We were so glad that we could have a little chat with him and knew about the stories. Thank you all and we had a great time here :)

Took my partner here for his birthday recently, and wow - what a beautiful restaurant. We both chose menu 1, I chose the vegetarian menu for myself. The food was incredible, each plate was beautifully presented and a delight to the senses. Next time I think I’ll try the wine pairing too. The staff were so friendly and knowledgable, dishes were served very quickly. We loved everything and would happily visit again in future!

Beautifully put together menu, we went for menu 2. The rice cracker aperitif and lobster ravioli were our favourites. Service was attentive without being too much. One of the gems of the Norwich food scene.

Me and my partner came here the other night. On arrival we were greeted and taken to our table. The restaurant has a lovely cosy and romantic feel to the place. The food was so well executed and presented. We went for the 5 course, plus cheese board. We were very satisfied with everything we both wished we had gone for the 8 course menu just to see what else they could offer. The port and cocktails also were perfect for the occasion. Highly recommend and we will be back for another date night!

To wrap up my girlfriend’s 30th, we went to Benedicts, and it honestly blew us away. We had the 9-course tasting menu, and every dish was a standout. Beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly well thought out, each course flowed nicely into the next. The staff were brilliant too. Friendly, professional, and never overbearing, they really helped make the night special. Meant to write this review a while back, it’s been some time now, we still think about that meal every now and then, and plan to go back soon.

Had an absolutely fantastic lunch at Benedicts in Norwich with my wife. We went for the three-course set lunch, and wow—it was amazing from start to finish! The absolute star of the meal was Cod main. Just incredible. The wine selection was spot on, with plenty to choose from, and the staff? Next-level brilliant. Super friendly, attentive, and really knew their stuff. It’s always nice when service is this good. Every dish was explained to us upon delivery. If you're in Norwich and fancy a meal that feels special but still totally relaxed, Benedicts is 100% worth it!
