How Open Kitchens Have Changed the Restaurant Industry | Eater

"Known for its theatrical teppanyaki stations, the experience here deliberately treats cooking as a show, with chefs performing at the griddle to engage and entertain diners rather than merely hiding prep work." - Jaya Saxena

The Best Food Clothing and Restaurant Merch Gifts | Eater

"A long-running teppanyaki restaurant with a cultural footprint that inspires designer collaborations, exemplified by dressed-up velvet slippers embroidered with the chain’s chef hat; the merch nods to decades of teppanyaki history and even donates a portion of proceeds to charity." - Dayna Evans

Benihana never disappoints! The food was absolutely delicious — everything was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and fresh. The atmosphere was lively and fun, making it a great dining experience from start to finish. Special thank you to Rob, our chef, who made the evening truly memorable! His energy, skill, and personality brought so much joy to the table. He kept everyone entertained while preparing our meals with precision and care. You can tell he really enjoys what he does, and it shows in both the presentation and the taste. Highly recommend dining here if you’re looking for great food, amazing service, and an unforgettable experience!

OMG, what a birthday dinner/surprise! Our waitress (Anna) and our chef (Joseph) were just outstanding. The food was absolutely great. Anna was out waitress and she was just on top of everything. Joseph put on the best show I've seen at Bennihana. Food was cooked to perfection! Best birthday present yet!

London K.

Google
Joseph was amazing!!! We had a little bit of a wait until our chef and food came even though we had a reservation (it happens!!), but Joseph was amazing and made up for the wait. Food was great, our chef was great. We would come back again.

Google
Best Chef I’ve had here is Rob by far! He was so fun to watch his skills, he also was quite funny & attentive. He paid attention to my allergies & made sure everything was cooked safely. Literally everyone at the table had the best time!

Stephanie W.

Google
Come here for birthday tradition, always good service but this time waited 45 minutes for a chef despite having a reservation. The food was amazing as always and it’s not bad for the price. Good rewards program and they send you home with a photo if you like

Google
Rob was our server - he is THE best!! Hilarious, engaging and his food is not only tasty but absolute art. Pretty certain his birthday is 6-7. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Google
We went on a weekend when it was very busy. They were clear about the long wait, and my wife and I didn’t mind. It was a bit loud due to the sheer quantity of people, but not so loud you can’t chat with the person next to you, especially we were after seated. We got a shared hibachi table with some friendly folks. The chef was incredible and did a fantastic job. He made our meal especially fun and special for our honeymoon. The wagyu fried rice and the steak was to die for. This place is well worth the money for the food, let alone the incredible experience.

We came here for the first time for a birthday and had a great experience! Isaac was wonderful and hilarious, and the food was delicious. Definitely recommended!

Yelp
Went here for my birthday and had a great time! The food was really great! I'll be sure to come back here again! Our server was super kind.

Yelp
Came for lunch with a friend. Had a reservation and was seated quickly. But there was also only 5 other customers there. 2 at my table and a few at another. I remember this place as being fun entrainment while your meal was cooked. What we got was bland personality and barely any effort to do a trick or anything. The food was OK. But for $100 lunch I was disappointed. I wont ever be back. And dont bother with the generic robo response Benihana. Its clear you guys arent actually reading these reviews and fixing anything.

Yelp
Terrible Service - Disorganized, Rude, and Disrespectful of Customers' Time This restaurant was a complete letdown from the moment we arrived. First of all, they gave away our table without even notifying us -- no explanation, no apology. When we asked what was going on, the first server we spoke to told us -- in a very rude and dismissive tone -- that we would be seated and served within 40 minutes. That didn't happen. Instead, they sat us at the bar "to be nice" while we waited. We ended up sitting there for over an hour and a half with no communication whatsoever. Finally, we were seated at a hibachi table and told again that we would be served "relatively soon." At first, we thought things were looking up because we got our soup and salad right away -- but after that, we were completely forgotten again. We waited another hour at the table with no hibachi chef in sight, and no staff member checked in with us at all. This experience was beyond frustrating. The service was disorganized, unprofessional, and downright disrespectful. If you're looking for a restaurant that values your time or treats customers with basic courtesy, go somewhere else. This place clearly doesn't care.

Yelp
UPDATE: The manager called me and made the situation right and is also giving feedback to the chef. Hopefully this was as one off incident! Last nights experience was not worth $150 plus dollars! I've gone to Benihana's for mine and my daughter's birthdays every year until this year and we're no longer going. First we were seated awkwardly at the corner of a super crowded table. I got up and asked to move to another table that had 5 extra seats. The chef arrives and the guy is obviously new so no fault to him but it affected the whole experience. He was good at first but then was a mess making the chicken fried rice because he shaped it into a heart and then did a heart attack and food flew everywhere. There was one small chicken breast, so now that you've made it where we have to pay $7 extra for that, I'd expect more chicken. It wasn't seasoned well and wished I had more soy sauce. He then did a trick where he was flipping the bowl with fried rice to hand to my daughter and it all dumped out right in front of her. Ok, we forgave that. Then he cooks the shrimp, then he starts on the chicken breast. He cooked the chicken where he cooked the shrimp and I stopped him because I don't eat shrimp and hate the taste, so I asked him to cook my chicken on another place on the grill. He did. But then he ended up putting chicken on my plate that was cooked where the shrimp was and gave someone else the chicken breast that he moved away from the spot. He overcooked the zucchini, which is our favorite but we couldn't eat it because it was mushy. He cooked onions and no mushrooms, which we love the mushrooms too and saw other tables had that. The chef experience was just horrible. On top of everything, the sake colada I ordered was not drinkable. The ice was chunky and diluted all other flavors in it. I had to send it back. The waitress was amazing so no complaints about her. But yesterday evening was the last evening we're going to Benihana's. I tipped well and felt bad to even bring any of this up to not embarrass the chef but I am really not happy. Sad because we loved that place.

Yelp
Such a fun time with our dinner club group! Our chef, Shane, was delightful. The food was amazing. I've been here many times and always enjoy it. Shane did an excellent job on my filet and scallops . Everyone raved about their food. This was a win for dinner
google avatar

Gina S.

Yelp
We definitely won't be back Had to hear the pitch about their discount card TWICE by 2 different servers. If I'm paying 300+ for dinner I don't want a sales pitch. Something had definitely changed with Benihana and not for the better.

Yelp
Our server came over and informed us we would be waiting longer due to all the cooks being at tables already. Mickey the manager came over after and tried to tell us "that is how it is and the cooks have to cut and prepare their own items before they come out." Keep in mind it's 9:15pm and our reservation was at 7:45 for 4 of us and the other 2 at 8:30pm. Instead of the manager offering to make things right he made excuses, yet we all have eaten here many times and never had a wait this long before, yet Mickey again said "this is a normal wait time...". Really an hour and a half sitting at the table waiting for a cook to prepare our $60 a plate meals? Our server was wonderful, but the manager missed every chance to keep repeat guests coming back. Our cook finally arrived almost 2 hours after we were seated for dinner and he was great too! Benihana... I highly recommend replacing the manager Mickey with someone as personable and customer service oriented as the servers and cooks. One bad experience gets spread to ten others... customer service rule number one!

Yelp
Despite my misgivings with the last experience (see previous 2 star review), we were lured back by the $30 Birthday coupon and that fact that it has become a family tradition! So, came back we did, and you did a much better job this time! Firstly, on a Tuesday night, there was no wait with our reservation! Usually you have to wait at least 15-30 minutes with the reservation. Secondly, the chef was great this time, no inappropriate jokes and he did a great time with trying to entertain our 3 teenagers and 2 adults. The shrimp was a bit overcooked but besides that, it was a perfectly seasoned and flavorful meal. It was a lot of food, and we even had leftovers. Thank you to the great chef for making our meal very good and memorable. We got the Bday photo and the icecream and I will always love the loud birthday songs which embarrass the teenagers appropriately. Thirdly, the only miss was the $15 calamari appetizer. The pieces were small and for some reason someone put fresh habaneros on top our ours. Guess what fresh habaneros do to hot oily food?? It infuses each piece with painfully hot peppers. It was inedible, but thankfully my hot head husband was able to choke them down. If it was just me I would have returned them as it was really too spicy. Nowhere on the menu does it state that they are habanero infused. Overall, this experience redeemed Benihana for me.

Yelp
What happened Benihana? This is now the second time my family of 3 (one child included) has come for a special occasion and had to leave due to over 1.5 hour wait. This time, we made sure to check all the boxes because this isn't our first rodeo at Benihanas- made an early dinner reservation for a casual Tuesday as to not go on a busy weekend during a dinner rush. Arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation only to be told that there was a wait. We originally were told 30 minutes, then after 30 minutes we were told 50 minutes. The nostalgia and fun experiences I grew up with at this restaurant just isn't worth it anymore. This is a recurring theme in the reviews as well. Portland has SO MANY other locally owned places to make memories at. We will explore those from now on.

Yelp
Chef Alex was great! We had a great birthday dinner last night. When there was a big delay for our table due to a shortage of chefs, staff was attentive & got us through it pretty seamlessly. Food was delicious as always & we had a wonderful time.

Yelp
I had one great experience here followed by a really bad one and I really wanted to give it another chance but they failed miserably. We went the day after Christmas but I don't think that's a good excuse for what happened. Imagine making a reservation for 5:30 for your birthday dinner, you get your kids ready to go, you get dressed up and ready to go, then drive an hour clear across town to eat. We checked in at 5:20 and the hostess said they were running a little bit behind and it would be about 25 minutes before we could be seated. No biggie, we can wait a few minutes despite having a reservation. We come back in at 5:50 and a different hostess says that they are still running behind and now it's going to be an additional 45 minutes to an hour wait....despite having a reservation. I ask to speak to the manager. While I'm waiting for them to come up a couple other people express their frustration on the wait and they also drove pretty far and had reservations. When the manager came up after about 10 minutes he was very apologetic and said he was going to walk the dining room to get a better estimate on the wait. When he came back it was still 45 minutes to an hour longer than we had already been waiting. He offered to do something for us if we chose to wait but we were hungry and the night was already ruined. He said he was fairly new and didn't understand how they were so over booked and to be honest I don't either. There is a reservation system, you would think that if the tables are full for the allotted time the system wouldn't let additional reservations. We ended up at the Margarita Factory down the street and were able to salvage some of the evening.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this place has changed management just doesn't care people. There look really overworked, and the quality of food is horrendous... Save your money. There's plenty of other places. You can have a good experience eating at read the reviews avoid this place...

Yelp
First time ever to Benihana! My brother and his boys come here every year for his birthday, and this year a few more family members were invited. 91 degrees outside, and to enter a very dark cave like atmosphere took me into an altered zone. Love the seating around grill, and I was surprised when the SHOW began. Our animated chef, clad in white chef-wear, began twirling knives and metal spatulas. The smell of ginger, soy sauce, garlic & onions and the sound of clashing metal filled the air. Truth be told, I'm a vegetarian & was skeptical that there wouldn't be enough options for me on the menu. I ate every bit & drop of ginger dressed salad and light savory soup. The reheated tofu steak tasted even better the next day. I'm a new big fan!

Yelp
This was my first experience going here and the only thing that kept us from walking out was the very nice Japanese waitress we had. I could've honestly done without the RUDE chef who thought he was funny by asking my husband many times if he wanted to eat the meat that fell off the floor is NOT funny, its RUDE!! I came for the experience but did not enjoy. This will be our first and last time coming here. Overpriced for the experience and food.

JC M.

Yelp
Noisy, noisy and noisy! If you are looking for a quiet place to eat, this is definitely not the one! You literally feel like seating in a free market, hot and smelly! Service is a nightmare! Needs to have a bigger gap time between two seatings on one table! Long waiting time if guests don't leave after eating on your assigned table! Me and my party of four had sitting arrangements at 6 AM and we're notified that our seat was ready prior to arrival. Then when we arrive at 6:05 PM, they made us continue waiting for over 30 minutes and advise that our table was not ready until another party had departed. Ironically, someone else had previously came in with no reservation or reserved at a later time was seated rather quickly, and I was still sitting there with my party for waiting to eat. We ended up leaving and not eating there.! Did I say the front desk guy was rude! Reading someone else's post from earlier month, glad we left less then 45 minutes after arrival, could be hours of waiting! Very disappointing! Definitely not recommended!

Yelp
5 stars because they are open on Christmas Day. My family always gets Teppanyaki on Christmas. We went to Tokio Table for many years, but they are no longer open Christmas Day. We were happy that Benihana could accommodate us. Our chef, Andy, was fantastic and our server, Nick was also really nice. It was a busy night and they did a great job. That being said, this place was a zoo. Extremely crowded and disorganized. They didn't seem prepared for the Christmas rush.

Yelp
We sat in the bar. 2 hour wait. To sit at table/grill. The bartender(Kasie) was attentive. Took care of us. Made sure our orders were Right. Gave us our sauces. Made us feel like home. I will always sit at the bar. Best way to enjoy the food. Didn't have to waste time on the "EXPERIENCE". Fair prices. Will come back again. Only ding. Not a fan of Japanese whiskey. No matter what YOUTUBE says..

Megan S.

Yelp
We just left. Had a 5pm reservation and got seated at 530. Despite how that is a direct reflection of poor restaurant management; we wanted to take the time to say that Shane (5 stars) was the best chef we've had - in years! He was fun, genuine and kind. He knew how to engage in a meaningful and relevant way - we have 3 kids / 2 teens. Sunny (1 star) the waitress was the opposite of that. She was rude, got multiple orders wrong (never apologized), we had to ask her for water multiple times, she never offered any refills on drinks, and she seemed put off by everything other than making sure everyone knew what "upgrades" were. She ruined the experience.

Matt Y.

Yelp
God this place is so terribly run. The ac is terrible so it's like 80 degrees in summer. We arrived early for a 630 reservation, seated at 720. Then we leave at 900 because they are short staffed. The manager isn't talking to or looking at anyone. She is simply in hiding. The food is whatever, it's fine. The drink server and chef person were both good and making the best of a system that's set up for them to fail.
google avatar

Kathleen W.

Yelp
Service was absolutely amazing and prompt with drink refills. Chef was entertaining even though his onion tower refused to light My husband order Steak & I ordered Lobster. The 1 alcoholic beverage brought our bill to $154.00 which seemed extremely pricey for the portion size of meat.
google avatar

Trish M.

Yelp
The food was good, but they got several things in the order wrong. They made efforts to make it right (requested veggie fried rice, got no rice and then was brought chicken fried rice), but still didn't get it right. The chefs are great, and the experience is fun, but for the cost I would rather have better food over an entertaining meal prep.
google avatar

Yelp
WOW,So incredibly B A D all the way around! My order arrived SOAKED in my Miso Soup! Hibachi Steak "Toddler Bites" overcooked, cold, bland, gray, and tough. When you pay a pretty penny, you deserve a good meal. Gosh, they used to be SO GOOD. So let down. Completely inedible. Once again, WOW and NOT in a good way

Yelp
Big problem with Benihana: they GROSSLY overbook reservations. I arrived at 5:25 for my 5:30 reservation. When I make reservations I expect to be seated at or no later than 10-15 minutes after my reserved time. We got seated at 6:20...nearly an HOUR after our reserved time. That much of a delay isn't an accident. I strongly suspect Benihana uses software that purposefully overbooks to ensure maximum profit at the expense of customer's time. This is a massively disrespectful practice within the industry that cooks, servers, and hostesses dislike because it results in understandably angry customers. Sure enough, although I disliked doing so I only tipped 10% instead of 20% because until it literally starts costing employees enough to speak up about and/or quit, this will keep happening. The tipped staff lost about $25 from me last night because of the disrespect of my time that management showed. In addition, I now have no intention of ever going back and will also encourage others to avoid Benihana if they value their time. Aside from that, while the food was good (as it always is), honestly...the value just isn't there. $200+ for two people with a couple drinks each isn't a good deal. There are PLENTY of other places in town, including some high-end steak houses, where you can get as good or better food for less money. Sometimes a lot less money. Final quibble: everyone's drinks at our table sat empty for too long. Not only did I notice this, I heard the guy sitting two seats down from me state to his wife, "Is the server ever coming back for drink refills??" I would have enjoyed dinner more if I wasn't so PO'd the entire time because I had to wait nearly an hour for a seat. I simply can't and won't recommend.

Yelp
. My Waitress Cassy was fantastic . i had a lovely Shrimp boat lunch in the bar today and i had an issue with My Shrimp . she got it fixed and had me new shrimp right away and they were delicious and just like I remembered them tasting when My Mom used to share hers with me . There was so much food , the soup , salad and rice aren't shown here . Benihana is always delicious and my family's favorite place for celebrating important days . i grabbed a pint of Ginger sauce and Mustard Sauce and am looking forward to having it with so many foods this week. very reasonable to take a pint home .

Yelp
1.45hr to 2 hr wait times. Avoid this place not worth the frustration. Staff went from 30min behind we waited over 1.3 hours. Restaurant needs to set time limits on tables. Or better understand wait times and turn arounds. Seek alternative venues.

Yelp
Great food, awesome atmosphere! Our Show Chef was Andrew M. He was great, funny and talented with his tricks. I couldn't stop laughing. He served up our steak just perfect. I highly recommend asking for him and ordering the Filet mignon with scallops!

Stephanie D.

Yelp
I hate making this post. I loved Paul's since I was a kid. My daughter loved it there. So for lunch I decided to check it out since it was reopened. I was not impressed. My go to order is the club house with tots. So it is a roasted turkey club with a salad. Thats fine not paying $2.50 extra for fries. The salad was not a salad. The ranch was super salty. The turkey was so dry and like it has been cooked a while ago and warmed up. It was half a tomato with the core in it. I understand changes happen but this was not good. I won't even go into the price of it. I am sad I couldn't finish it. I wish they would had kept some of the classic dishes. What made Paul's special I felt that it was food you could rely on and it felt nice. I did find it strange nothing seems to really be updated inside only the food. I will say the man they helped us was super nice and had great customer service.

Bick N.

Yelp
One of the worst experiences we've ever had at Benihana--and we've been loyal customers for years. From start to finish, the service was unbelievably disappointing. We waited over an hour just to receive our appetizers, and then another 45 minutes before the main course even started arriving. That's nearly two hours of waiting while hungry. Knowing how hectic it can get, we politely asked our waitress for bowls of garlic butter upfront so we wouldn't have to interrupt the chef later. She flat-out refused and insisted the chef would provide it. From past visits, we know some chefs get irritated with requests during cooking, which is why we tried to be proactive. When Chef Rob arrived, we told him how hungry we were after waiting so long. He acted indifferent and cooked at a painfully slow pace. Instead of serving the fried rice right away like most chefs do, he cooked it, set it aside to get cold, and then started on the meats and veggies. By the time the fried rice finally reached our plates, it was dry and unappetizing. We asked him for the garlic butter, and he gave a small amount. When my niece politely asked for more, he gave her a nasty look and made a rude comment, saying he had to "drop everything" just to get it. Completely uncalled for. No guest should be treated like an inconvenience. To make matters worse, our waitress disappeared and never came back to refill drinks. I had to get help from a waitress at another table just to find her. After years of coming here and recommending this place to friends and family, I'm sad to say we won't be returning anytime soon. This was a complete failure in customer service and hospitality. Extremely disappointed.

Yelp
Food was delicious and Chef Nick was amazing. Definitely enjoyed the experience. Thank you!

Yelp
Had reservations for 615. The entire waiting area was completely full. We had to stand among 20 plus people and entertain a 2 year old for over an hour before we got seated. They kept telling us soon. Otherwise we would have just left. I have never waited an hour for a reservation. Multiple other people were complaining about the same thing. Once we were seated the server was great and food was decent. It was just hard to have an 8 pm dinner for a 6:15 reservation.

Samantha Q.

Yelp
I want to start my review by thanking the managers for being remorseful and compassionate about how awful our experience here was. This was my first time here, and I came with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. Disappointment doesn't cover our experience here tonight. Benihana's is supposed to be a "luxury" and "extraordinary" experience. We experienced none of that. As we watched the tables around us experience an incredible fire show provided by the chef, we were excited for our time and we did not get it at all. Not to mention one of the guests in our group did not get rice at all, the steak was OVER cooked. Personally I did not receive an add on I ordered that I remember the server repeating back to me when asked for. Not to mention the bathroom was disgusting. The floor was sticky and the soap dispenser was broken. The person we were there to celebrate had made a reservation and we waited OVER AN HOUR to be seated. Our reservation was at 6:30 and we were not called to be seated until 7:45. I'm sure there is a better hibachi place than this.

Megan B.

Yelp
I recently visited Benihana and while I'm giving 5 stars, this is only for our chef. Christopher was incredible and made the night fun and entertaining everything tasted amazing . Unfortunately, our service from the servers and hosts was really disappointing. We waited almost the entire meal before we were offered drink refills, and it felt like the staff outside of the kitchen wasn't attentive at all, a little rude if I'm being honest. At a place where the servers are the ones receiving tips and tipping out the chefs, there should be a much higher standard for service. The only reason I'd consider coming back is because our chef (Christopher) truly made the experience worth it. Without him, the night would have been a letdown.

Sandra M.

Yelp
The entertainment was fun, but as I previously explained we had an experience that was frustrating. We had a party of 7 for dinner that was delayed significantly. I believe that customer service is an important part of a dining experience. The employees at Benihana were exceptional. The manager, however, has not. I tried multiple times to reach him and had no reply other than for me to contact the corporate office, which I had already done. There has been no response from corporate either as of this date. There are many restaurants in the Portland area that provide excellent food AND customer service. We will spend our money at those businesses instead of Benihanas. If I receive a reply from Corporate I will revise my review.

Yelp
I was never a big fan of chain restaurants but I had heard of Benihana for several years. Finally my employer hosted a dinner here and I am not disappointed. The food wasn't extraordinary but the ambiance made for a fun experience and I think that's what most people enjoy about the place. I would come back to try some of their other menu items. They also had an extensive drink menu and the service was great.

Logan A.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS we had a reservation for 6 and the stupid operator on the phone was AI and it made the reservation for us to sit at the BAR without informing us that it did that. Mind you we had a few people that were under the age and they said there's nothing they can do about LIKE LITERALLY WTF YOU MEAN YOU CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT,it's on you guys for being so lazy and not wanting to communicate with people. If that's the case they need help it's ridiculous having to wait for something all day and not being able to receive it...VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Yelp
After going to hibachi for most special occasions or celebrations for YEARS- this is the first time we could truly say, "we will not be coming here again". We arrived at about 45mins before close & were told there'd be about a 15min wait so we enjoyed some sake at the bar top. We were seated at the expected wait time but waited for almost another 40mins after sitting at the hibachi table to even receive our 1st course of SOUP! The waiter was very kind but pretty much said "Sorry you had a bad time. Unfortunately this is pretty normal around here & it's not my fault". We had an overly salty, almost $150 meal for 2 with no hibachi "entertainment" other than an onion volcano. Where has the traditional fun time gone where you'd laugh with your date and get a shrimp thrown in your mouth or a little sake squirt? We'll take our celebrations elsewhere.

Lisky H.

Yelp
So after my last experience I never wanted to come back but my son chose Benihana for his birthday today. Tonight was great I have to admit. It's the second time in a couple years where we got Isaac as our chef. He is always so good, consistent, friendly and takes what he does seriously. If we could have Isaac every time we would. He made my sons birthday and our experience so enjoyable. Thanks Isaac!

Vanessa W.

Yelp
Picked up steak & shrimp to take home for a low key 4th of July. The steak & shrimp were okay but nothing to write home about, & the portions were very small, much more so than in the past. The biggest disappointment was the Mai Tai for 2 I ordered. For $35 there was barely ANY Mai Tai. A total rip off for $35. Will not be back.

Yelp
We made a reservation for Father's Day three weeks prior. They sent us two emails asking us to confirm we will be there on time. We showed up at our reservation time and they were 1.5 hours behind on reservations. We were told the restaurant is full and there is simply no capacity to meet the reservations that were made plus the walk-ins accepted. The small lobby was filled with 40+ people who had already been waiting 30-40 minutes. We left to go elsewhere. Simply put- do not trust your reservation here. You will be waiting just like a walk in. Really disappointing!

Yelp
The service here is absolutely pitiful. Our reservation was at 7:00 PM. They sent us a message at 6:45 the table was ready. We ended up not being seated till 7:20. Someone walked up to front desk to ask an update and she was completely backhanded, then when he walked away the lady rolled her eyes. When we finally got seated, it wasn't for another 50 minutes later that the chef showed up. The waitress only came over once to ask us if we needed anything. I used to love it here as a kid, but this experience completely ruined it for the whole table. It was also my birthday! Genuinely screw this place lol

Yelp
I wish zero stars was an option as we had a 7:09 reservation for my daughter's birthday and arrived to be told we would have to wait at least a half an hour! We were told they took too many walk in guests and the tables weren't turning as quickly as expected?! We did wait almost 30 minutes outside as the inside lobby was packed with standing room only and were told they had no idea how much longer it would be! I wish I would have read the reviews prior to booking as this appears to be a long term chronic issue with this restaurant. We decided to leave and went to Margarita Factory nearby and had a wonderful time! We won't be giving Benihana a second chance.....

Yelp
service was very slow--never filled our water. we had to get up from our table to ask for things like to go boxes and plates. food was below average. a bit pricey for what it's worth.

Yelp
I Like Going To Benihana And There Food Is Really Good And The Chef Comes To Your Table And You Get To Watch Them Cook Your Food. When You Sit Down By The Grill You Get To Interact With Other People At Your Table And You Get To Watch Them Flip Knives In The Air And The Way They Moves Knives In The Air And You Get To Watch Them Onion Into A Volcano And You Get To Choose What Food You Want And What Drinks You Want And It Is A Bit Pricy Because It Has Three Dollar Signs And On The Wall When You Walk In There Are Famous People On The Wall. The Staff Working There Are Really Friendly And Get Really Busy When You Go In And They Got A Lot Of Really Good Reviews And If You Want Really Good Food You Should Check Out Benihana And You Don't Be Disappointed In The Food Or The Services And What I Like Is Watching The Chef Cook Your Food.

Yelp
Always a good experience and fun time for the family. Good drinks, appetizers, and entree's. Sometimes depends on the chef that you get, but overall experience was great. Server could've been a little more attentive with the refill's, but overall she did well.

Yelp
Lazy employees . I requested my Postmates driver to add Diablo sauce to my Togo order . He said the employees said they had already sealed my order & were too busy to take any request .

Yelp
My partner and I celebrated our birthdays tonight at Benihana .. Everything was fantastic...especially our chef "Shane". He was polite, funny, and entertaining. We have eaten at Benihana in 7 different states(including Hawaii)usually 10 or more times a year..The food Shane made tonight topped every other time! He was also very kind to keep it "pg" as we had 2 little girls at our table with another party..as much as we enjoyed it, these little girls will never forget it!

Yelp
I really like this place so I thought I would treat myself tonight by getting my dinner delivered. I ordered a shrimp burrito and took a bite and immediately tasted chewy, disgusting steak. It made me so upset because I don't eat steak. My other items were ok. I called to speak to someone and they said they didn't have a manager to speak with and asked me for my information so they could call me. Also I didn't order a lot, and it took way too long. Benihana has never let me down in the past but tonight you were nothing but disappointing.

Yelp
Conner is an elite server, the food was amazing and he really made it a great experience for my kids. Roger was our chef and I'm not sure if we had better tasting food at this location than tonight. We will be back soon!

Yelp
We had a stellar experience for my sister's birthday. Our server, Junko was attentive and very kind. Our chef, Nick was hilarious! We all laughed and it was a lot of fun. Well definitely return!
