Everything was wonderful!! Gotta love having the food made in front of you. Each course had just the right portion size and was so flavorful. A little pricey but was perfect for a special night out.

Great place teppanyaki. Even without reservations we were seated promptly. The star of the show, of course, was our chef. Great skills and entertainment. The food was a bit on the salty side, but otherwise delicious!

McKenna did great. I’m in the biz and she did a great job. I’m fact, your whole team was on it. I was very excited to see a Benihana since I’m from California and having lived in Oklahoma the past three years I have missed it so much. I am here on business and will definitely be back in my duration of the next two weeks. Dining room was well maintained, and the manager was right on time with adjusting the lighting for the ambience.

Great Father’s Day dinner. Lucas is so funny and great sense of humor. Funniest part was when he told my wife to not talk with her mouth full of food 😂😂 We had a blast my kids loved the show and we all can’t wait to go back. First time going and it was awesome. Mikey was good too Food was amazing

The food was good. The service was alright. Servers seem to be in a bit of rush. The environment is nice, love the dolls displaying. Overall, I think it’s a pretty good place for new experiences. I would not go back for $200 meal for two people.

We had visited once before but didn’t order that time, so we were a bit unsure about the menu. Thankfully, the staff answered our questions with patience and clarity—no judgment at all. The food was absolutely delicious—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and very satisfying. Even the veggies, which I don’t usually go for, were surprisingly tasty. The cook clearly has talent—and a great sense of humor to match!

Our chef is friendly but also inappropriate. He told my friend "don't talk when your mouth is full". Meat quality is good but the way our chef made downgraded the food, too salty or too much vinegar. Yakisoba & tuna is very sour from too much vinegar. Udon stir fry only tastes salt and pepper. We also spent 30 mins waiting since we sat until the chef started cooking. We are a party of 10 and we spent $840 today. Totally worthless. Won't come back again for sure.

Absolutely amazing experience. Visited during the weekend before christmas during prime shopping time with a full restaurant and mall. Despite that 10/10! Sat at the bar and had an absolutely phenomenal bartender. She was super attentive and did a fabulous job. (Her name will come to me, leaving this place keeper to add it later) Ordered a lunch and it was divine, as was the Hendricks Collins. Great experience. Much better than my previous review of a Benihana in LA.

Food is mid at this location. Customer service is lacking. I left a review on OT and they responded with nothing relevant. This place is a hit or miss. In May I had great service and in July it could have been better. I'm not sure what's wrong with the MOA Benihana's management or training, but the place has a few con. Cha nge it up

Absolutely awful! Our server was exceptionally rude and careless. I wanted to leave, but it was my friend's first time at a teppanyaki / hibachi grill. We should have left Benihana and gone elsewhere. I asked my server three times for water and was ignored the first time. The second time they snapped at me barking that I ordered tea. The third time they said they would bring it, but didn't (again.) I asked another server (fourth time) and finally got some water. My napkin was dirty, so I asked for another. The replacement was dirty, so I asked for another replacement. The third napkin was dirty, so I asked for another replacement. The fourth napkin was also dirty, but only on one side and I lost confidence in the cleanliness and sanitary standards at Benihana. The chef did the bare minimum. Highly disappointing especially for my friend's first time at a teppanyaki / hibachi grill. We would have appreciated some effort and more theatrics. The food was typical Benihana. I felt rushed to leave by my server who pestered us to pay. When we paid, not only was a lobster tail added to my friend's bill (he didn't order it and is allergic to it), Benihana also added a 10% service charge! I feel scammed and would never recommend Benihana. I guess I will start scouring menus for hidden fees. Overall, Benihana was a disaster, terrible experience and value. Find another teppanyaki / hibachi grill.

The experience here was amazing! I've always heard of this experience and never had the opportunity until I found myself at the Mall of America. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and great customer service. Our waiter was great. Zemman was so friendly and made us feel like we were his number 1 priority. We had two small kids with us and they accommodated us. I haven't had this great of service in a long time. Zemman, if you get the chance to read this, we want you to know you are gonna do amazing things in life no matter what you do. Keep up the great work. You made my first experience one to remember. Food was delicious. Portions were great. Prices were to be expected to be what they were. This was a treat for sure. I would recommend this spot with friends and family. It was a great experience. Hope they know how lucky they are to have such great staff. Great job everyone. Oh and I didn't get pictures of everything else cause I was so caught up in the moment.

Refused to sit our party of 16 at the same station "for server rotation" when multiple other tables were having that setting. This was our holiday dinner. Employee and manager were very brief and didn't try to work with us. The host was rude to my family since the beginning. I understand not wanting to be at a mall on a busy Saturday during the holiday season but this is your work. The "General Manager" was also not helpful. Avoid at all cost the Golden Valley location has better service

Meet up with my sister for happy hour. Service was slow and prices have gone up. We sat at the bar for HH and usually I would ask to be seated outside in the patio section outside the mall area but they were short staff and so wet sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly. Food was tasty but very slow coming. So be prepared to have lots of patience and not be in a rush. Ambiance was quiet since we were there after 3pm with people still at work. Not s lot of people for the habachi or in the dining area. Definitely recommend getting the spicy edamame and crispy rice. It was the most flavorful.

We eat here a few times a year and I cannot remember the last time I ordered a drink and they had the ingredients. Tonight they were out of Prickly Pear for the Prickly Pear Margarita. The sushi was good except for the weird textured spicy tuna on the crispy rice. It was similar to canned fish. The server was busy but friendly and efficient. But my biggest pet peeve is they started adding 20% service charge to your bill. It states at the front on a sign that the servers are sharing the charge yet every time we eat there we are told that you can't give a tip on your card, "cash or here's a Venmo". They don't tell you that you are already paying 20% on top of your bill. I used to be a server. I get that it might suck to share the tips with everyone but do not imply you are getting nothing, it's deceptive and wrong.

Oof, I wanted to have faith in this experience, but unfortunately I was sorely disappointed. I was under the misapprehension that since this place is always busy, that it was an indication of quality. I was happy that the front of the house staff had called to give us a heads up that the Mall locks it's doors after our reservation time. However, when we got there, we waited more than 45 minutes just to receive our appetizers, and we didn't get forks to eat our salads until we asked. Our server, though I'm sure well intentioned, rarely checked on us. When our chef came out, it was clear that there was some kind of mishap because half of the table's orders were entered incorrectly. The hibachi rice and meat were delicious, though something seemed off with the yum yum sauce, like it wasn't seasoned like it normally is? It was very bland. I don't think I'll be going back to this location, and I hope for the sake of future patrons that they square away whatever issues they have between communication and service.

Don't go here. Been around the world, and I have never really given reviews. This has to be one of the worst tasting food of my life. Government food is ten times better than this so called "food". The gyoza dumpling sauce was cold, the shrimp tasted like steak, and the fried rice was bland.

If you're looking forward to some great Asian food. Don't go here. The restaurant was empty yet our food arrived barely warm and lacked flavor. Service was poor and slow. Then the icing on the cake is the "service charge". Our waitress said this money is shared with everyone in the restaurant. It is not her tip. Ours was $13 for 2 people who ordered 1 entree, 1 appetizer and one bar drink. I usually tip well, and would have tipped $15 for our meal. I'm not leaving almost a $30 tip on a $60 bill. Do better Benihana.

We were seated promptly at our reservation time. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was nice. Our server was Aylena, she was great-pleasant, kind and went above and beyond for our party of people. The Food was awesome! cook was great and did a great show!

Sure enough the food was decent. But just that, decent, nothing great by any means. The service was very lack luster. It took forever for drinks to come out. And our appetizer soup and salad came after the chef started cooking. Not to mention the grill was dirty as we were seated. And we had to request for silverware. The server brought out the check before the table had even gotten half done eating along with To-go boxes. As the server was collecting the checks, he placed a dirty plate from a different table on our table and left it there as he did other errands throughout the restaurant. Definitely the second worst experience here at this location. The first being when we waited over an hour before our food show began. Definitely think I'm done with this location. The price for what we get is not worth it anymore. Paying over 100.00 for dinner and that's the experience, no thanks!

Pedro, our chef, was fun and very skillful. He gets Five stars! The other wait staff were unfortunately not as fun or skillful. Certain items took too long to arrive and one never came. An important warning about this establishment is the forced 20% gratuity. It is unfair to charge for gratuity regardless of its quality rendered, e.g. today's performance which again was poor.

Been to Benihana's a million times. Food always tastes good/same. This time I ordered the Benihana's delight.$48. The mushrooms were super salty. Lobster was overcooked and dry. Steak was rubbery and not medium rare like I ordered. When I reported it, I changed my order to the Filet because it seemed thicker since they couldn't get the first order cooked right and it was too tough overcooked. They brought back overcooked filet AND lobster with burned shrimp. Manager brought me 3 properly cooked shrimp, but had the nerves to tell me that the meat was how they "normally" cooked it. I ended up eating a few pieces of meat and a couple bites of sides. The experience made me never want to eat at Benihana's again. My friend's steak was good. But his shrimp was burned. We paid $175 for a horrible experience. NOT WORTH IT.

I never do this, if I have an issue I resolve it with someone. On 3/1 my husband brought me to MN (we live in IL) for a special weekend. We wanted to experience some of MN - we used to live here. So we came to MOA for Benihana and to see how the mall was faring. Wait wasn't bad for not having a reservation, our table was sat with 4 others and our server Donnell was working with the other side as well. They were sending all the signs of not paying and running, so he babysat the table and we were sucking on empty drinks and incorrect food. The only saving grace was Gonzalez who had a little IL plate on his cart. I found out he has family that works at another Benihana on the West Side. When we got our bill there was no where to tip, but a "service charge" of 20% of our bill had been preloaded. When I asked a manager about it, (no name tag and would not give his name) that corporate had decided that since MN is a "no tip"state and servers were not tipping appropriately to their bus/chef/bartend staff that they were just going to institute this company wide to make it fair. No signage at entrance or in my bill folder about this policy and we were a party of 2. I have tried to get ahold of Benihana on several occasions and have only received a call back once (left a VM). Benihana - you have lost the business of myself and my family (totally 4 states - many birthdays and anniversary's that we have celebrated religiously for years). We may be a drop in the bucket, but we were a loyal bunch who spent well.

Hello, I would not recommend this place at all to anyone who wants a nice meal with your loved ones. On July 13th I was taking my partner out for the first time at mall of America and wanted to eat at a nice restaurant within the mall. We saw this place and thought the performance of the chefs were amazing and wanted to experience it ourselves. We did not have a reservation so we walked in not knowing what to do or ask for. The waitress looked busy and there were people sitting down in the waiting room, and so we assumed the waitress was busy. She was talking to this man who looked to be the person in charge that day and so we didn't want to bother the waitress until everything was settled. However, after waiting for a few minutes and exchanging glances, she still did not greet us or even asked if we wanted to be seated. So we walked up and asked if there was room for a table of two at the hibachi grill. There was then a group of waitress talking to each other giggling and not really doing their job. I don't care if they have downtime I just wanted to be seated at a table so I can eat a nice meal with my love one. Once we asked they said yes then decided amongst themselves on who was going to seat us. At this point it was annoying already and the atmosphere of this restaurant was not what it felt looking from the outside. As we got the table, it was cramped. The waitress decided to seat us down at a table that was super full! It was shoulder to shoulder with strangers at the table! There was no room to even lift ur arm up to grab a fork or spoon! I decided to not stay any longer as if we had stayed we wouldn't have been comfortable enough to eat at all! It's unacceptable to feel as if weren't even important enough to be given proper seating space let alone acknowledgement! BE WARNED once u sit down and order food you are FORCED to pay 20% SERVICE CHARGES on top of a tip if you want. I did not want to pay a 20% service charge for a service that wasn't even provided for me at the very beginning. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

This was my first time dining at Benihana and I was extremely pleased with the service, food, and overall experience. Not to mention our server "D" and Terrance were ver personable and responsive to all of our needs. I am visiting from out of town and we don't have a Benihana where I am from but if I'm ever back in the area I will definitely make it back! 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEN!

If you've been to one Benihana, you have been to them all. This one is no exception. Reservations are highly recommended and are pretty easy to make through their website. We were seated right away upon arrival. You will be seated with others in a semi-circle around a grill where the chef will prepare the dishes. You will receive salad and onion soup to start before the chef starts cooking. They have a variety of different combos containing different mixtures of meats depending on what you want. I chose one that included beef, chicken, and jumbo shrimp. Steamed rice is also included, but I and everyone at the table upgraded to the fried rice which the chef will prepare at the table. Some of the combos include dessert (ice cream) and some don't. I also opted for a cocktail before the meal which was quite tasty and strong. The chef did his usual cooking demonstration with juggling knives, tossing an egg into his pocket, etc. He was fun and interactive and generally did a good job. The food was, well, standard Benihana. Grilled meats and rice. Perfectly fine and flavorful but nothing to write home about as they say. The server was quite attentive throughout the meal which was appreciated. This a fun dining experience now and then, but don't expect anything too amazing.

The ambiance was not that great. If you aren't in the chef room it feels like a cafeteria. The service was slow, the drink I ordered never came, the steak I ordered med rare and was way overdone, couldn't tell anyone because no one checked back to ask if everything was ok. Waaay overpriced. I've had a better meal at Panda Express.

The prices went up but the portion size went down and drinks are watered down. They add a 20% gratuity but the wait time is inappropriate and you can tell they have inexperienced chefs, no tricks and overcooking the steak and lobster. Lastly, I mentioned my birthday coupon when I arrived and was allowed to give another child guest my ice cream before we started eating but when the bill came, I was told I couldn't use it because it was only valid Mon-Thurs. When I complained because I should have been told that when I mentioned the coupon, the manager, Shaine, claim he couldn't override the terms of the coupon. Which is understandable if that's the case but he extended the expiration date which contradicts being unable to override the terms. Shaine offered us to speak with another manner, Yale and he explained to us in an more appropriate manner that made sense. However, Shaine was rude and loud, basically embarrassing in front of other guest then accusing us of trying to get him to steal from the company by asking him to honor the coupon due to the misunderstanding. He made a statement about risking his job even sharing, he's been written up for discounting food. I think he shared too much and didn't understand my concern but his approach as manager is unprofessional. Which support my concerns about customer service. My family and I love Benihana. This use to be our place for birthday celebrations but between the inconsistencies in service and food, I'm going to have to find a new place. I don't want or expect anything for free but I do expect to get quality, service, and food for the amount of money that we pay, especially due to the increase prices whuch has double since last year. We've been 4 times this year and each time it's been an issue.

Our hibachi chef was outstanding. However, he was missing SO MANY THINGS on his cart and had to keep flagging down staff to bring him the missing ingredients. No shrimps at all for the table's appetizer. No chicken or shrimp for my Benihana Delight. No shrimp for my son's hibachi shrimp. The entire point of going to Benihana is to see the teppanyaki chefs work their magic - so I guess the extended time while he had to get our food prepared was ok, as we got more of a "show" than usual. I felt so bad for our chef... he was embarrassed and kept apologizing. Terrible waitstaff - talented chef.

When we came in, we were told they were having a shift change and we had to wait an hour to be seated. When we asks why, we were told the bartender is about to get off and she will be upset if she gets another table! Huh?!?! Then we asked to sit in another section -- they had literally a bunch of tables open -- and we were too told no! I'm confused now. So we decide to wait and then another couple gets seated immediately that comes in a few minutes after us. So we leave and then come back at the start of the new shift. I asked to speak to the manager, I guess the staff spoke before we did, because when I spoke to the manager everyone was starring DAGGERS AT US! Then after the manager seldomly rectifys the situation, we sit at the bar... and the HOST and bartender literally walk around and talk so much crap about us in ear shot without a care in the world -- TALK ABOUT UNPROFESSIONAL! I asked the manager to at least Comp an appitizer for the service -- nope! This whole places needs re-staffing and costumer services classes! I will be emailing corporate! We felt entirely unwelcome, and despite the rude behavior -- because the bartender was very passive aggressive after the manager spoke to her -- we were still kind. But it was very uncomfortable! The worst part: everything is auto 20% grat and I assume you they didn't earn it

THEY HAVE A POLICY OF "No Credit Card tips." What a slap in the face to your servers and all the customers who get this dropped on us when the check arrives. NOWHERE on the menu or any signage explains this awful policy. You lost this customers until the policy changes back.

We had a group dinner and the service food and atmosphere were perfect. The fried rice is a must to go with any meal. We had seafood, chicken and steak. All of it was cooked to perfection and served hot off the grill. The food is plentiful and make great leftovers for the next day.
