Absolutely amazing! Food, service, the entire experience. Our server and chef were great, food well cooked and perfectly presented. Definitely recommend and will be back. First time we came it was too busy so we could only sit and eat in the bar area but this time made a reservation, worth the wait!

Brought a party of 24 for a wedding rehearsal. We had 3 tables and 3 fantastic chefs. All super personable and fun interaction with us. The food was fantastic!!! Manager Terri and the whole staff were super accommodating with add on and keeping me on financial track. Thanks you San Diego Benihana for a great evening!

Had a reservation for 7:00pm on a Saturday and didn’t eat until 9:15. Hibachi is a very fun experience, but the waiting put a damper on our evening. Parking lot is near other businesses and a hotel and is very limited so we used the valet for $8. Our waiter seemed exhausted but our hibachi chef was highly entertaining and fun. I ordered the Seafood Diablo ($41) and the chef made sure it was only as spicy as I wanted it. There was so much food and since we were eating so late, my appetite had decreased. Thank goodness they gave us boxes to take our food home. Drink menu was super fun and we ordered a couple drinks at the bar while we waited. After our meal, we were given a printed out photo of our group which was a nice touch. There were 10 of us total and everyone got their own photo. The food was very salty and made with lots of butter, but it’s more for the experience than the food, right? I know the staff here works very hard to keep the place running smoothly, but it can be a little chaotic on a Saturday night so plan accordingly.

We made 8pm reservations on father's day, expected it to be busy but not a 1 hour wait to be seated. Family of 6 and 4 young kids we were finally ready for dinner. Then the mgr came to inform us that we needed to move and they are adding another family to the table and if we don't like it we can leave. Great.... it's 915 the kids are hungry and we are now sardines at the table. To make matters worse the chef didn't come to the table until 10pm to start cooking & he was ready to go home saying he had been there since 10am. The show was mediocre if him cooking our food. Our waiter was amazing and very empathetic to the time and amount of people smashed at our table. Don't know if I would go back with service like that and a $400 bill.

Jake was a fantastic chef! He kept us engaged and the food was seasoned to perfection! He made our birthday dinner experience one to remember. :-D Will definitely be back

Google
The past 3 times I’ve came here, I’ve made reservations and it took 30 plus minutes to be seated and over an hour for the chef to arrive. The manager has no empathy or customer service for the situation. The only accommodation is to offer 20% discount. She has a really nasty attitude as if someone has done something to her. I don’t recommend ordering the show type service if you are on a time constraint. Prepare for your night to turn into about 3 hours.

Google
Worst experience I may have ever had at a restaurant! Took over an hour to get our food. Food finally came and calamari was rubber, Filet was gross enough that we actually spit it out. App shrimp was like from a grocery store, customer and hostess fought on the floor in the middle of everyone. Fried rice had no flavor. Will NEVER return and could never recommend to anyone! We enjoyed the appetizer and salad that’s it! Service was ok… she got us what we needed but not friendly or attentive.

Google
What an amazing experience! Chef Trevor cooked an unforgettable meal for our Son's 6th Birthday! The food was absolute perfection! The family friendly jokes made kiddo laugh so hard and all the attention from the staff made him feel extra special! Our waiter, Jaden, went above and beyond to make sure the entire table was taken care of! The managers even came to check on the table and wished kiddo a happy birthday! Way to go Benihana! This was an amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone! 11/10!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yelp
the best hibachi we have ever had!! worth the wait. don't be in a hurry because they run behind because they are so busy. be patient you will not be disappointed

Yelp
Miguel was an amazing cook love this restaurant!! He made us laugh with his amazing tricks not only that the service was perfect.

Yelp
Our chef name was Betty, she was very nice and an excellent cook. She made the experience very entertaining.

Yelp
Jake...was amazing. Fun, attentive, great chef and we appreciate the love he showed our kiddo! Great night after a long deployment!

Yelp
Yes, I should have made a reservation; however, we didn't! Therefore, we walked in and asked how long for a wait for two, not teriyaki style, but table service! The host said 15 minutes, I agree and wait! About 35 minutes later, we get a text stating our is table is ready and the host takes us to a teriyaki Grill! I calmly stated we asked for a table and the host reply, oh please just find one and I will bring you menus, only to find a table and be told that the wait for food at a table is one hour long or longer! Long story short, we waited near an hour only to be told that we would have to wait another hour! Only to say, we had to walk out! Completely horrible management in my opinion!

Yelp
The "Benihana" experience is dead. If you're looking to come here for a special or positive experience, save yourself the trouble. This is the THIRD time in a row I have had to wait 2+ hours for service, first time I've had to straight up walk out. The Benihana franchise has become wildly inconsiderate and irresponsible, they DO NOT CARE. Came here for a big birthday dinner, had reservations at 7:45pm. They accept reservations every 15 minutes- even though every location from Newport Beach to San Diego seems to be completely understaffed and they simply do not care about unapologetically delaying you time and time again. We arrived at 7:30, and walked out at 9:50, still no chef to help the table. We're told at 9:30 it would "likely be another hour" before any chefs came to our table. A three hour wait on a reservation ?? During our multi-hour wait, we witnessed an additional 4-5 tables stand up and walk out, no dinner and no service given. Management NEEDS to take accountability. It's not fair to the wait staff, who are now out all those tables, and it's not fair to the chefs. They are so stressed and rushed they don't even have the chance to make it a positive experience by the time they get to a table. STOP TAKING RESERVATIONS WHEN YOU ARE WAY BEYOND YOUR CAPACITY!!! It's not special, it's just become a money suck and it ruined the night for our group. We were told management would come talk to us multiple times and apologize, but nothing. We left my boyfriend's 30th birthday dinner at 10pm and had to go hunt down fast food for the entire group instead. Completely disappointing and unacceptable experience, and we are done with Benihana forever. The end of an era.

Yelp
Went here to celebrate a friend. It's been several years, so thought I would give it another go. The muscled, no smiles, and very armed security guard was a very interesting touch. I'm trying to figure if we should be here at this point. Our reservation was at 7pm, but we were not seated til 7:40. After 20 minutes, we did have to ask if we can get started as we were headed to a late show that evening. We ended up having to leave early and got our food to go. I know people love this place. The place was packed to the walls. Overall, the performance is the same. The food is bland, tasteless actually. The service was good once we got seated and the hostess kind. I truly wanted to enjoy this experience but found nothing that warranted the price or wait time.

Yelp
Love this new Power Lunch offering at Benihana. You can enjoy a delicious hibachi meal within 45 minutes, or lunch is on them. This special is available Monday through Friday (11 am- 3 am). You must notify the host upon check-in that you are there for the 45-Minute Power Lunch so they can seat you at a designated teppan table. Great prices too. $15.95 for chicken, shrimp, or tofu. $19.95 for filet mignon or NY strip. Of course, the meal also comes with their traditional onion soup or salad, grilled veggies, and fried rice. I got the shrimps and they were not the super jumbo size but still very tasty. I enjoyed my meal and the friendly/funny cook. Another plus is that there was no crazy crowd like at dinner time and plenty of parking.

Yelp
Alright let me start off by saying if you come to Benihana's, expect to spend at LEAST 2-3 hours here from the moment you walk into the restaurant (if you have a reservation). We came on a Saturday night by the way. My boyfriend and I had reservations at 7PM. We didn't get seated until 1 hour later and our chef did not arrive to our table until 30 minutes later...The good thing is I'm pretty patient but if you're starving and get hangry you will not have a good experience. Aside from the very painful wait the food was great! I especially love the chicken fried rice. I wouldn't recommend the wagyu fried rice as the person next to me ordered that and their "wagyu" came out in a condiment container. They were even shocked. Not worth the price just stick to chicken. The colossal shrimp was definitely the star protein of the show and I loved the veggies and overall seasonings and sauces. Our chef Jesse was really kind and fun. A lot of people come here to celebrate special occasions and the couple next to us it was one of their birthdays. Even though they made it clear when we sat down to our server. They never received a birthday song and I think our server forgot. I felt bad for them. Overall, the food is great and experience is fun but I cannot believe the amount of time we spent here especially with reservations. Parking is also very strange. It is shared with hotel parking so it is very limited. Street parking is also hard because its at a dead end of the road. We couldn't find parking so we had to resort to their $8 valet. I feel like they're definitely waxing here. Get here early if you want to avoid this.

Yelp
Not sure how the food was. We made a reservation for 745 and after 30 minutes. waiting they told us there were still tables waiting ahead of us. Very poor practice to offer reservations, and then not honor them in a reasonable time. I would understand if we were walk-ins, But that was not the case. We will definitely not be back.

Yelp
Had a 12:30 reservation for 8 people, seated after 20 min of checking in. Waited another 40 min to have the chef arrive at our table. They were extra busy and packed which our server warned us about. She gave us free edamame's for waiting patiently until a chef was available. You get a whiff of the dirty carpets as soon as you walk in, you forget about it when you smell the food being cooked in front of you. We were lucky and got Fausto for our chef. He was funny and original with his style and jokes. Entrees include onion soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, rice (upgrade to chicken fried rice), and supposed to come with green tea - which we didn't get. We ordered a lot of food since there was 8 of us, they forgot one of the seafood Diablo so we ended up canceling it, which was a bummer cause it was delicious. I was able to steal a bite from someone else who ordered it. Overall the chef was the best thing here. Chicken fried rice was skimpy on the chicken, the seafood sauce is mid compared to shogun's. The parking is also very limited, but you can opt to use valet for $8. I'm glad that I was able to visit Benihana for the first time, but probably won't be back.

Yelp
Food is amazing, service can definitely use some work. We had a reservation and luckily for us we were able to grab a seat at the hibachi table right away. We had a waiter that took our drink order but we didn't receive our drinks for about 45 minutes after. We didn't have a chef for about an hour after being seated as well. So if you have a lot of time to kill then this is the place for you but if you are starving be prepared for a long meal. I really enjoyed the food, the salad was excellent and the soup. Watching the chef cook up the meat and seafood was definitely a nice show. The meat was cooked perfect and the lobster was incredible. The fried rice was spot on as well. Food was very good although I did feel like the portions were a bit small for the price you pay. It's a fun spot for a group, if you don't have a big enough group for a whole table then they seat you with other people. If you have a lot of time to spare and want great food with a show then this is your spot.

Yelp
I haven't been to Benihana's in probably 25 years. We went for Happy Hour. It was great. Prices are good. $3 for edamame, $6 fora spicy tuna roll, $9 for a wagyu burger and fries..... Pretty good deals as long as the food was good, and it was. Of course, they're famous for their teppanyaki. We didn't try that. But they had a line out the door at 6pm when we were leaving. Great service. Really good French fries. Was a little weird, though. The first couple orders of fries were cooked really well and nice and crispy. But later when we ordered another wagyu burger with fries, the fries were much lighter in color and definitely not as good and crispy as the first ones. The server informed us that since it was busier the cook didn't have enough time to fry them as long as the first ones. That was disappointing but the server did offer to bring more fries that were cooked just like the first ones. Please make sure your food is consistent. That's my only recommendation.

Yelp
Always enjoy coming here, yet I don't come aa often as I use to. Typically due to mostly alot of folks & having to wait to be seated, unless you opt for the lounge or bar area you can seat yourself. Took myself for my overdue birthday lunch chose the lounge not to wait. There were folks waiting for seating for a ‍ to cook before them. Had a waitress she was nice had hee before years ago. They had meal deals that is great & come with dessert for $39 but unfortunately if you have a birthday certificate $30 off you can't get . That really is a whack rule. People will spend more if you just allowed the $30 off the ticket period. But either way I was pleased with my combination meal chicken, shrimp, steak & grilled veggies a bowl of rice. Ordered sake bomb and enjoyed. The lounge area is a bit noisy with people & tvs playing sports. If you like a less noisy area it's not at Benihanas that I have found. I put my headphones on tuned into a podcast on my phone & tuned out the hustle, bustle & chatter around . Be nice if they could expand or move & have outdoor seating with a pond of coi fish for an option. Located in mission valley near the 163 off the 8 highway near alot of hotels great place for visitors on Camino del Rio SOUTH.

Yelp
The magnificent and fabulous historic Benihana has lowered the quality of their steaks and food, and I've noticed it is nowhere near as good as it used to be. I will not be returning.
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
I rarely put places on a banishment list, Benihana earned a rare spot after dinner last night. The only reason to award a star was because of the chef who prepared the food -- he was an awesome and down to earth dude who made the whole table happy (shout out Lino). Everything else, awful. I got the check and felt like I got robbed, add in the joyous experience of having the waitress literally hover over me waiting to leave the tip, nice addition. If the atmosphere is what they are selling, it does not overcompensate for the food in any manner. Spend your money elsewhere.

Yelp
Evander and Jake were fabulous and very personable with our family. Our daughter had a wonderful birthday! Have to love the garlic butter!!!!
google avatar

Marilyn N.

Yelp
Even with reservations we were not seated until 45 minutes later. We came here to celebrate some birthdays and had two tables facing each other (seated 8 comfortably with kids, table was set for 10, I think 10 adults would be a tight squeezed) . Each table had its own chef and it was definitely was not like YouTube with the back to back tricks haha we got the volcano and the beating heart fried rice, a few jokes here and there.. and that's that. The food was quite tasty, kids filet mignon was the same size as the adults. Very generous portion of fried rice. Loved how everything was covered in garlic butter ... heard you can buy it by the pint.
google avatar

Bexter R.

Yelp
I totally understand that they have to take the time to prep the food before it comes out for the show, but to wait around at the table for almost 2 hours is insane. Benihana has considerably gone down hill for service. Gone to the Scottsdale location for years and every time we go, we have seen the service drop each time. This was the last time. Lesson learned.
google avatar

Priscilla C.

Yelp
Came here tonight with two friends. The food is amazing as usual. Fried rice was so good and I got the emperors feast which consisted of a filet mignon and chicken. Very filling. The steak was cooked perfectly how I wanted it. The service was great. There was this older lady who served us and she was so sweet. I wish I got her name to give her credit. The chef who made our food was funny and nice. Ambiance was great. A little loud but that's to be expected. It was fun and clean. Definitely love coming here to celebrate birthdays.

Yelp
Sooooo. Tried to contact them as they said and still after 7 months received no response. I guess you really do care (not) about your clients.

Yelp
If I could give less than 1 star I would. Went a little early to have a cocktail. The bar was filthy with used drinks and no bartender to be seen. Returned to lobby and seated on time. We had the waiter from hell. Soup and salad weren't served until after dinner was being prepared. They just threw it on the table and left. Ordered some hot tea for my wife and when it finally came out was cold Food was good as always at this place just beyond lousy service. To pay with Apple Pay had to walk to front register. And then we were happy to walk out the door and go home No ice cream tonight
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
Came here for the "tax day special" where all cocktails were $10.40 except for the punch bowls or any other "offers & discounts" (spoiler alert, that includes seasonal drinks) Sat at the bar with my fiancé, ordered a sweet heat paloma that was listed as a seasonal drink. I assumed this would fall under the $10.40 category since it's a cocktail that's not a punch bowl and is not discounted or under some type of promotional offer. Get the bill and it's listed as $17.50 I ask the bartender why it's not $10.40 He said because it's a limited time offer and points out the promotional card at the bar that has different terms than the email promo I received that brought me in today. I said I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew it wasn't going to be $10.40. He said he'd grab a manager (the bartender was great, no complaints besides maybe mentioning that it didn't fall under the $10.40 price because it was a seasonal drink which I guess = "offers" I asked the manager if he'd take care of me this one time as the price difference was $7.10 and I didn't want to be left with a bad taste in my mouth when we go here for multiple birthdays a year, including mine, like a proper basic family does When I mentioned we go every year for my birthday he said he'd talk to "his boss" came back 2 minutes later and said no can do. Guys. This is $7.10 lol is this location really hurting that bad? To top it off the men's restroom had a wire door handle to open the door. The staff at this location is great. The management sucks... I've never had bad service here so there's that. But when asked to be accommodated once for $7.10 when we've collectively spending literally $100s on birthdays there is offensive. I know it's Benihana, I get it. My expectations shouldn't be so high. But $7.10.... To make a customer happy and continue visiting. Let than in guys. I really hate leaving bad reviews but I feel like I gave adequate chances to fix what went wrong today and here I am leaving a grumpy yelp I don't think I'll drag the family to Benihanas in the future for my birthday. It was just a tradition anyways.

Yelp
We ordered this to go so I can't speak on the restaurant it self but it was so yummy! My brother, husband, and I shared a chicken meal for two plus a roll. The meal consisted of rice, edamame, wings, and a salad. It was more than enough food for the 3 of us and super flavorful. We were staying at a hotel nearby so it was hot and had utensils. I could've used more sauce but I didn't specify that so it's not a big deal. It was ready on time as well and packed nice and neat. I don't normally like wings but these were juicy and had tons of flavor! It was also decently priced for what we got. I would recommend!

James V.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible experience. We had a reservation at 7:30 and got a text at 7:15 saying our table was ready. When we arrived, they told us there were SEVEN parties ahead of us. We had four kids with us who were hungry and restless, and the staff couldn't have cared less. The hostesses were rude, dismissive, and offered no explanation or solution. After waiting an hour with no update, we finally left. Completely unorganized, unprofessional, and not worth the hassle. We'll never come back.
google avatar

Yelp
Been going here since I was two weeks old and it hasn't always been sunshine and roses, but they're back in the game Went here for lunch and it was amazing. Steak cooked well, shrimp succulent, sauces were fantastic, and they knocked it out of the park with the fried rice Fast, delicious, and great service
google avatar

Yelp
Birthday dinner at Benihana- Service not so great from the waitress, but the chef Paul was very entertaining and talented! Also, the photographer took the best picture of us, and didn't charge us! But I had to ask for salt, pepper and a knife twice. When I finally got it, it was a plastic knife! Our meals included all kinds of things, salad, shrimp appetizer, vegetables, rice, tea, ice cream. However, when we got our bill, we were each charged $7.50 for rice! Also, they never brought the tea that was included.
google avatar

Yelp
Nothing against the staff, they were all very nice...but this is the worst operated restaurant I've ever been to in my life. Stay away. Teppan Notty

Yelp
Starts out pulling up to valet and being greeted by a nice young man David, I love that this restaurant offers valet and by such a great company . We were Seated promptly and had a great chef who kept us laughing and enjoying our delicious food. I'd give more than five stars if I could. Must visit this place !!

Yelp
Came here for a birthday with a group of friends. Was mine and another friends first time. Let's just say my friend whose birthday it was was left disappointed unfortunately. If you are coming during prime dinner time, maybe do not come starving. It took about 30/40 mins or so for us to get a chef. If you get an alcoholic beverage you might be tipsy before food even makes it in front of your face lolol Or just be sure to order an appetizer while you wait. Food wise, things were decent. Chicken fried rice was good but like they ask you when ordering if you want it instead of white rice that comes with your meal which is fine but then they charge you the exact price on the menu as if you were to order it alone. I would have thought it would be maybe a small up charge. Wished they would have given me my white rice too at the end honestly then. Onion soup is good. Salad is sad (couple lettuce leaves and hella cabbage), dressing on top was grainy. Sauces on side were good. Shrimp made by our chef was over done and chewy. Steak was the best part for sure (thank goodness bc that's what we are really paying for). Service - server was nice but there were very large gaps in time between her coming back to us and people needed things. Don't think we would have even gotten our salads if I didn't say anything bc the chef was already making our steaks. Our chef was nice also but lackluster which I know my birthday friend was sad about bc that is literally part of the experience. They spoke so softly people had to lean in to hear them and there was no excitement whatsoever. Our table was laughing and enjoying chefs at the other tables more than ours. Ambiance - nothing to really note here. Lighting and decor to make sense for the restaurant. Will say though that the bathrooms smell absolutely rancid in them and were gross in my opinion. The floors were so sticky too which gave me the ick for sure. Kind of tragic visit.

Sheridan D.

Yelp
We had a reservation for 9:30 and got sat at 10, it's now 10:45 and we're sitting watching every table with a chef eating while we're waiting for the chef to show up to the table...can't rate the food I haven't had but disappointing and starving would be an understatement at this point.

Madison S.

Yelp
Paul our chef and Arthur our server were amazing! Amazing jokes. We were laughing the entire time. They gave us amazing service but also a good time!

Yelp
Had reservations for 7:30 pm, they sat us down at 8:15 pm with another small group not known to us. We were greeted and our drinks were served. It was 9:20 and our chef was nowhere to be found, when asked how long do we have to wait for our chef to become available, we were informed that 2 other tables were ahead of us. At this point the other half of the table (unknown to us) got up and left, they were celebrating a birthday. When we spoke to Brandon (manager) he stated we should make earlier reservations. At this point we got up and left also, this was almost 10 pm. We had wine for dinner, so 1 star for the wine, the best experience out of all of this Fiasco!

Yelp
They can do better on service and cleanliness. The plates have grease smudges. They have the orders wrong too.
google avatar

Mary M.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my birthday. Called the mission valley phone number to see what today's lunch hours were. They said service till 2:45 so I booked a reservation. Got there and the male host had zero personality, barely spoke and was just unfriendly. When we finally got seated I noticed no lunch menu so I walked up front to get one. NO LUNCH menu on Weekends. They said a call center takes the calls. Well if you are paying a call center should they know your information. Asked to speak to the manager. He also blamed the call center and apologized. We left and will not be returning. Also the lobby area smelled like restroom Deodorizer. It was terrible.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday evening and it was packed!! We had to park far since the lot was full. We had reservations at 7pm and didn't get seated until 8:15 and had to wait for our food, which we didn't get until a little after 9pm. The chef told us they were booked but didn't have the staff to accommodate the dinner rush. It was loud and busy with a lot of tables waiting for their food to be cooked. You can probably find a similar restaurant for cheaper and less wait.
google avatar

Kara Z.

Yelp
One word - terrible. From service to chef to food. Our reservation was at 5:45pm, we sat at around 6:45 and waited another 30mins for the chef to come. For the first half of cooking everything was fine except for the food was very tasteless. Approaching the end when it comes to filet mignon, the portion sizing was so different - when it comes to me and my husband, the portion was so small compared with our friends who ordered the same thing. And mushroom, he only asked the other side of table and there was no mushroom left, again, for me and my husband. My husband gave his to mine because of that. And when I complained, the chef was saying he's the one who didn't want it. However, it's because the portion sizing for both of us isn't even half big as other people's. I do not understand why this terrible place has lines everyday. Probably because terrible operations. Never seen a restaurant needing to wait 90mins with a reservation.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
This is the worst reservation system joke. We made a reservation on the phone which the restaurant made a mistake on. The reservation was for 6 30 and they told us when we arrived that we could have a table at 8. When we got there at 7 50 after they texted us that our table was ready they told us it would be at LEAST an hour wait. What a terrible system!

Yelp
I've been going to Benihana for over 15 years and it's always been a place I've enjoyed for anniversaries or bdays. I recently visited about a month ago. The front staff is nice and accommodation I can't complain about service because I truly felt they were all doing their best but man that place really ran itself into the ground. I believe the automated phone reservations is what is causing the issue. I booked my resi same day which literally never happens. When we arrived they only had space in the bar area. Once we got sat in the bar area we sat for about 15-20 min and no one greeted us. I went back up to the front and the hostess made room for us at a table. Then the server was just really behind and the chef too! I felt bad. But I was pregnant and my kids were starving. The bill was almost 200 with no alcohol. Too expensive for the terrible delay in service. Nice people, good food, overpriced, not well managed. I am not coming back. Sorry but that was awful

Yelp
If you want a show with dinner, Benihana is a classic. Came here just before Christmas and it was packed. The hosts were having a little trouble preparing and getting the customers organized for dinner, credit to them they diligently worked through it. After a bit of a wait a table was ready and everything began. The meal service ran smoothly, the chef's have skills, tricks, and jokes. The atmosphere is fun and thankfully the open flames were controlled. The food was cooked to the requested doneness and wrapped up with a dessert. This is a great birthday/celebration place and I 'd come back in such event.

Yelp
This has to be the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. This isn't a food review by the way, we didn't get a chance to eat. Not only did we get seated 1.5 hour past our reservation, but the staff and manager have to be the dumbest people in San Diego- all employed at the same place. Making us wait that long for a BIRTHDAY reservation & then telling us we won't start eating 45 mins after we're sat? I don't know if they know this, but no one is planning HOURS of their night to eat Trader Joe's quality fried rice and an onion caught on fire. We had an event reservation elsewhere at 10. I'm so sorry I didn't mark 4 hours of my night to eat Asian dennys. If the manager had handled this better I wouldn't be as pissed, but I don't even want to begin to explain the experience of speaking to someone who could give less of a shit. Maybe train your hostess better and stop over booking.

Yelp
Waited at our grill for 1 hour with 2 hungry small kids. And still hadn't even seen our chef.... Server gave little to no communication about the wait or process. We saw our server twice in the hour to take our drink order and bring our drinks. Customer service is trash, communication is trash, wait was trash. Don't waste your time. We didn't bother to wait any longer. After the hour mark hit we got up and left.

Yelp
For people not familiar with the location, it's on a road that runs adjacent to the 8 east. If you pass by the Denny's facing west, then you're going the correct way. The road will have a 90 turn towards the left and the driveway will be on the left hand side. The price adds up, so be prepared for the bill. As the saying goes, go for the gram! Staff were very friendly and attentive. The show we got was great for the first time visitor in our group. Our chef, I believe his name was Sergio, was fun and entertaining. Food tasted good and it was an overall awesome experience.

Yelp
Benihana chefs deserve raise, they are the only ones saving the show, the wait is crazy (even for the reservations made a month in advance) We came for a birthday celebration, the hostess admitted that this is corporate's fault and they overbooked the restaurant every weekend. every experience I've had here I get seated and get fed at least an hour later. save your money and go find authentic Teppanyaki i promise it will be a better experience

Yelp
The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because our waitress was nice and the cook was good. The first impression was horrible, the host was very rude. She was counting a 5 month old as a spot at the table LOL and then proceeding to tell us if the other guests weren't in we need to order their food. Sure if they were late but they weren't and parking their car in the horrible parking lot. She could have had a complete different demeanor and it would have be totally fine. Just to add to that they didn't even serve us from a hour from when we sat down. The host didn't turn the stove on properly so the cook couldn't do his job efficiently and I was scared I was going to get undercooked food. We had to ask about our salad 30 minutes after getting the soup. We had a "manager" come over and tell a 3 year old to stay seated. Are we in prison? Like I understand if he was running around all crazy but we were in the corner and he was walking behind our chairs to visit the family and sit in there laps. Not around the stove, chefs or other people at all. Our family was making a joke because we felt as if we were in a tv show and they were testing us to see when we would leave. We are paying $60 (if not more) a plate I at least expect the manager to be nice Idk if there is new owners or what but I will never go back my experience was ruined.

Yelp
Went recently to celebrate a birthday, and our chef Angel was absolutely fabulous - he had a few jokes I'd never heard before, he was extremely accommodating with our request for very spicy fried rice, and made sure that my boyfriend had a great experience at his first visit to Benihana. The only reason for the 4 star review is the reservation/waiting setup. It's been a few years since I've last been and I was hoping they would have fixed things by now, but it's absolutely absurd to book a reservation and then be told to wait 30+ minutes for your table after checking in.
