I was recommended this spot by someone, so we made a birthday reservation to visit on the weekend. You can easily make RSVP's online on their website, which was great.
Pros:
- Which was the scenery (This was also a selling point from the person who suggested it). It does have a nice scenery, as it overlooks a good portion of the surrounding area, being that the winery is located at the top of a hill. This includes the photo-op area, which it set up to have that overlook view as the back-drop.
- The service was good, as they had multiple servers walking around, asking each empty table if they were already attended to.
- It is a spacious winery, they have a good space outside and also inside spaces/locations.
- The prices are actually very reasonable. It was $12 for a normal flight of wine and $20 for their 'hand-picked' selections. They also have a Frose/Apple Cider frozen wine mixed drink for $12-15, the Frose had a few different flavors and it was really good! We ordered mostly from 'Sweets' for our flight, but we only really enjoyed 1-2 of the four total. The others weren't really 'sweet' at all. You can enjoy this spot without paying an arm and a leg which was good!
Cons:
- The photo op location is great during the daylight, but as the sun goes down, they have no actual lighting surrounding that area. This leaves you unable to really take photos - unless you're using flash. This leaves you having to take photos up close, missing out on the surrounding back-drop scenery, which defeats the overall purpose of the photo -op being setup there.
- The food. So, apparently they use a different vendor and so you have leave your table, to go up to a food vendor station to order food (You cannot through the waiter, as you have to pay separately). Guess what? You also have to go to pick up the food and bring it back to your table. No actual real plates, so you use paper plates. We ordered two pizzas and while they look aesthetically pleasing, they were terrible. I had better pizza in high school for lunch. The dough wasn't solid and very thin and the shredded cheese wasn't the best quality. The pizza would fold or fall apart as you ate it and it just didn't taste good at all. Both pies were left half-eaten. Also, they only take CASH, so if you have none, you'll have to use their ATM and pay a fee.
- I paid the bill, only to check my bank statement and find out I was charged more than what I signed the receipt for. I had to call them and have them refund the excess amount. The reason I was given was that 'a drink I didn't order was accidentally added to the bill'. Here's the thing - I signed off on the tab for a specific amount and that drink was not on there. How did a drink get added AFTER I signed off on the receipt reflecting what was accurate? You tell me.
All in all, it was an alright experience, but it was very underwhelming. I doubt any of us would return again.
