Google
Pizza was absolutely amazing! Service was a little flat at 1st but we walked in during down time with more than enough questions. Highly recommend stopping in anytime you're in the area. Great stop after a long day at the beach. Some of the best pizza I've ever eaten!

Spiro

Google
This is the biggest piece of pizza I’ve ever eaten, and it was great value for the price. It tasted good and was served quickly. I will be back.

David Wells

Google
Pizza is fun because it’s big, but not big on taste. You can get it by the slice, but make sure it’s fresh.

William Bishop

Google
I purchased a slice of cheese pizza. The slice is enormous! It was greasy/oily like a NY pizza. Tastes very good. The slice folded in half effortlessly. I prefer a crust with some crunch to it which this crust was not. My bad for not requesting extra crispy. I will return to Benny Palmetto’s. If a person likes NY style pizza I recommend Benny Palmetto’s.

Google
06/28/25 From NY Pizza to South Carolina for vacation would 10/10 recommend updated pictures of pizza!! Remake of the one from 3 years ago!

Google
A must stop for us when we're in the Charleston area. Discovered this place when we got hungry late at night and it was the only place open near our hotel. Now we come back every time we're around. Great pizza!!

V Mars

Google
Wonderful family and close knit neighborhood atmosphere in this fun and lively pizza place. Gigantic slices, large variety of cans and bottles of drinks and beer. Cinnamon Benny sticks for dessert are yummy.

Jim Miller

Google
Largest pieces of pizza you'll find! Only like 6$ a slice but 1 piece will fill you up!

Bryan J.

Yelp
Awesome pizza by the slice and some giant pies. Quick in and out for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Consistently doing their best to represent the Benny's franchise as the worst in the system. Consistently. Shame on me for always trying to give them another chance, hoping the interaction with the kids that work there will be better. Hoping the product will be better than the last. Big fan of the company but Chris and/or Zach need to spend time here asap with management to get this location up to par. Years have gone by since it was an enjoyable experience. I've eaten at 7 Benny's frequently and this location unfortunately is just ankle level compared to the others. Embarrassing management that is absent and kids that don't give a shit working there.

Yelp
The pizza... about the only nice thing to be said about it: it was hot. The entire staff glared at us balefully the entire time, as if we were disrupting something important. Something was leaking on our heads. Yelpers, would you care for a tip? Just don't bother.

Lauren H.

Yelp
I had this a couple of years ago and it was decent. This time it was subpar. The cheese they use is not good. The pizza is bland. I had to cover with every condiment that they had to make it somewhat edible. Waste of money and calories. Not even close to NY pizza. I would say most chain pizza places are better and I don't even like those. It was also very dry and just way off.

Kris D.

Yelp
Came here for a slice of pizza since it was close to my hotel and the girl who greeted me did not say hello so should I even say greeted? Didn't seem like she wanted to be there. The slice of pizza itself was ok. It was huge and can be shared.

Samantha J.

Yelp
Service is a 0. We sat at the bar. Slice came out. Worker called us and directed us to pick up at the counter. Literally 2, maybe 3 additional steps and he could put our food in front of us. There was only 2 other ppl in the restaurant. Pizza was ok. Will not return because of the service.

Teresa J.

Yelp
I have often passed this pizza shop and have wanted to try it as we love NY style pizza. We finally were able to last night and it was fantastic! We ordered ahead online for pickup and it was extremely easy to do so. Their website is easy to navigate and so is their online ordering feature. We went with a 28" pizza that had us laughing with a car full of people it was hard to get the box in! The pizza was eight HUGE slices and was enough to feed six people (four adults and two children) with two slices left over. It was delicious! The pizza is thin and having lived in New York for several years it was exactly what we remember during our time there. We went with the half cheese/half pepperoni and both were flavorful and filling. If you are wanting to feed a crowd and looking for an easy and fun meal show up with a Benny's pizza box. My kids were shocked at the size and we truly enjoyed our pizza!

Lori M.

Yelp
It was a big slice but it was not cheesy. Bit into it and instantly reminded me of dehydrated cheese crisps.

Michael A.

Yelp
Huge pizza slices. 1 filled me up. Good flavor, I had pepperoni. Wife had cheese. Counter service only. Lots of different beverages to choose from the cooler. Very casual.

Latoya L.

Yelp
The best pizza! We love ordering from this place while staying at our beach house. Huge pizza, great delivery driver. Would definitely recommend!!

Burt R.

Yelp
I've ordered here in a jam once or twice. Beside the gigantic pies which I guess could be a good fit for the right situation the pizza is pretty bad. I hate giving bad reviews but it's just not good pizza and is super dry but being from NY I have a high standard. The lack ingredients to make these large pies I think that makes it seem good to order for a lot of people but not worth it at all.

Lauren H.

Yelp
Bennys saved the day! We went to another pizza establishment and they were not able to accommodate our party of 10. Bennys welcomed us in (with 8 kids). We ordered 2 pizzas which was plenty of food. The pizza was hot and delicious! The kids loved the drink selection and the arcade game! We will be back!

Sandra K.

Yelp
It's an experience! Pizza is just average, good "drunk" pizza. We had it delivered so can't speak to service or ambiance.

Suzanne A.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by this enormous pizza. First of all I have never seen such a big pizza pie! When my son came out with it I was amazed with how he was holding it. Then we had to figure out how to get it in the vehicle. We literally had to significantly tilt it to get it inside. Huge! We got it home and thoroughly enjoyed this pizza. It was tasty. Everyone really liked it. Typically there is someone in the group that isn't happy, but not tonight. It was very very good. I suggest you give it a try.

Molly Z.

Yelp
Holy moly. This pizza was HUGE! I have legit never had a pizza slice this big. Our Uber driver picked us up and we all wanted that greasy 4th meal after drinking a lot. We've all been there...right? He pulled into Benny's. It was about 30 minutes before close but they whipped our pizza up in about 20 minutes. The flavor was great. I love the sauce. It wasn't too sweet but had a nice sweet flavor. It was expensive for pizza but totally worth it. If you're craving pizza, this is the place to go!

Taylor P.

Yelp
We were having a hard time trying to find somewhere open at 2 on a Monday. We pulled in, and noticed there were no cars in the parking lot, my husband said "oh no that's never a good sign, but it's 2:00" and I said "who can mess up pizza tho?" We walked in, and was very confused. They have about 5 signs over a register that I assume is the menu.. not many options. The girls at the register, were no help. We settled with the combo for $10 ea, they were confused when we asked for the drink that came with it, telling us the meal didn't and had to ask someone..... the combo was written down right behind them lol. The portions are big I'll give them that. But the sausage on my husbands looks like they just took a piece of cooked cheese pizza and add it on top. I had the jalapeño and cheddar, which looks like they did the same. How can I tell? It's a cheese pizza with diced jalepenos and cheddar sprinkled on top.... Not usually what you would expect. They also have a big oven up front that we never saw used while us and 2 others ordered, so I'm just assuming lol. So, I will say 2 stars because we got a huge pizza, and starving. And you can mess up pizza apparently:(

Teresa F.

Yelp
I little piece of NY in the Lowcountry. Having lived in NYC with slice places virtually EVERYWHERE- this is a welcome spot for my family. Perfect for getting a large slice to go over to Shem Creek park picnic and walk. One slice is large enough to satisfy. Good drink selection as well. Our take out is usually fast, friendly, and delicious. Pro tip- I get my slice cut in half- but my NYC husband likes it whole to fold while eating.

Danny N.

Yelp
This place has the biggest pizza we ever had. The staff is so friendly. My wife and son really enjoyed the food. Great local find. Thank Benny!

No Neck G.

Yelp
Awesome star and great soft drink selection! The pizza topping options are limited but the pizza was great. One slice will feed a family. No but seriously huge slices!

Tia H.

Yelp
We visited while on vacation. Great place if you have a large party because of the size of the pizza for what you pay. Especially several kids! They only have one size pizza and it is HUGE! You can also buy pizza by the slice. The pizza is ok. Not much seating. Really not set up for a large party to dine in. Fast service and staff was nice.

Anne S.

Yelp
My friend and I joked last night that it was probably our first time eating at Benny Palmetto's sober, as it usually occurs after a night of drinking since the place is open and serving hot pizza until 2:00 am. Seems like others have gotten the memo, as well. We arrived around 12:30 am, and were definitely sober, though, even then, the pizza served us well. As others have obviously mentioned, the slices are huge (see my pic with my hand near a slice for comparison). We opted for a classic pepperoni slice while I ordered something on special: spinach, ricotta, and garlic. Each slice is from about $4.00 - $5.50. We used our plastic utensils to slice our pizza slices halfway down the middle so we could each share a different taste. Good stuff. Paid $1.50 for a side of garlic sauce (similar to, but not as good as, Papa John's), marinara sauce, and ranch. There's many drink options in a refrigerator so you're bound to find something you like, whether you drink soda or sparkling water etc. I certainly recommend this place if you're ever looking for a bite especially after 11:00 out in Mt. Pleasant. I'm not sure that I would personally come and sit down to eat here during the day, but others have mentioned its a good choice for that. Overall, I say Benny Palmetto's is A-OK, and I'm certainly glad they came to Coleman Blvd.

Christine L.

Yelp
I've heard lots about this place and had to try it! It's an experience in itself to eat pizza slices bigger than your face, but it was pretty good pizza! Definitely flavorful and filling. Their ranch is also very creamy. I ordered through grub hub via Yelp and it was a very smooth, painless process!

Christi B.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised. This pizza is by far the best I've had in a long time. I'm from Long Island and my husband is from Jersey. We are a little picky about our pizza. I've found my new spot . Crispy thin crust. Sauce is amazing . Called and spoke to Alex to let him know how pleased we were. He was so polite and professional and a bonus he's from south Jersey . People generally only call to complain this pie warranted a compliment call !!! Thanks again. Highly recommend. We will be coming in for dinner soon . I'm excited to try your Italian entrees.

Jim R.

Yelp
I give 2 Stinkies because the slice I ate had virtually no sauce. They should call it cheese bread. With no sauce there isn't any "Pizza". Pizza should be a 2:1 ratio sauce/cheese. Somehow as American pizza made it to the South, the sauce was nearly eradicated (not just here but most pizza places in the South) You would think ownership would jump on a saucier pizza. if cost mirrors the grocery store, the price of cheese being more than sauce, there would be better profit. Obviously, this place and the sister location do okay. They've been around awhile. So the people like it. I obviously don't. It looks good but isn't. Just sayin'

Mason R.

Yelp
Benny's has good pizza. It's not the best but it's certainly not bad! The crust is thin but not burnt or crispy. Where Benny excels is either 1) you want to go eat the largest pizza in Charleston. You think you're prepared and then they give you the box and it's still mind blowing . Or 2) you're super hungry. Again, massive 28" pies. A single slice is bigger than a fully grown adult head. That's pretty awesome and deserves some kudos for pumping out those bad boys. Out on the town late at night? You're in luck! Benny is a prime establishment to feed you and half the bar with a single pie. Why not 5 stars? Again, it's good not great. Also, I've had two pizzas now where I open up the box (delivery btw) and the pizza had folded up on itself slightly. If you haven't had Bennys pizzas, gotta check them out !

Annamaria B.

Yelp
If you want the biggest pizza ever, go no further than Benny Palmetto's. My fiancé loves pizza so much that I thought this would be the perfect birthday surprise. It was a hit. The only place it fit was in the trunk to get it home. You get 8 gigantic slices out of a whole pie. The toppings offered are minimal but you can easily reheat a slice and add your own since you'll have leftovers for days if it's just a couple people enjoying it. Next time I need a ton of pizza, I know where to go. I may even pop in for a slice. Super cool concept.

Tyler U.

Yelp
Soooooo good. A 28'' pie for $35??????? That's unheard of. This thing lasted me three days.

Susan P.

Yelp
Excellent tasting pizza!! Even though it's just me and my husband I had to try the novelty of how big their pizza is. Humongous pizza with an equally big taste!! Delicious!!

Carlo W.

Yelp
For some reason I'm just finding this place. Pizza is good. Crust is great. Prices are very reasonable. Taxes are included, and drinks aren't overpriced. Friendly service. The slices are huge! They are literally the size of an entire pizza at chain places like Pizza Hut or Dominos. And they are open until Midnight! Will definitely return.

Caroline E.

Yelp
easily skippable. will not be back. weird vibes inside. the person taking orders basically just wanted to sit there & play on his phone the whole time vs tapping stuff on the screen. if that's the case let people just enter orders themselves? pizza wasn't very good, but it didn't make anyone sick, so that's a plus.

Rick S.

Yelp
Was very surprised at how bad the slices were at this location. We've eaten at the one on Coleman Boulevard many times and there the pizza is always good. These slices were dead like the dough didn't rise or maybe the slices were frozen and then reheated.

John F.

Yelp
I'm been here many times and the pizza has always been good. Today (01-18-23 5pm) was different, the boy at the desk seemed annoyed with me being there. I ordered the Garlic Mushroom pizza which was great when I had it a few days ago. This time the guy whom I've never seen before didn't put the toppings on until after it's go in the oven leaving me with cold garlic mushrooms. When I come again I hope for a better experience or it will be my last.

Alyssa N.

Yelp
When you need pizza late at night after a baseball game this is the place to go! They have limited options of pizza but at least they have the basics. We chose their April Special which was black olives, banana peppers a feta. Unfortunately my giant slice of pizza only had one spec of feta. The service was great! The gentleman who rung us up was friendly. We had no problem ordering and we were served within 10 minuets.

Mitchellie V.

Yelp
This place gets a 3Star due to the "slice" of pizza is made to be so filling. One slice is actually bigger than a personal pan sized pizza. Since their specialty is to make a huge slice of pizza, their menu is limited but if U love pepperoni that would be the basic ingredient and since there are days I like to just eat a pepperoni pizza and not have to order an entire pie, pair it up w/ one of their cider beers and Ur set=-)

Joan M.

Yelp
Well, what a little funky divey gem I discovered with my 23 year old son after walking the bridge. It was around 10pm when we got here and this place was busy busy. So it's Pizza by the slice, thin thin with about four options for toppings. I chose the July special which was great. To be honest I don't do pizza but was starved after my walk. It fit the bill perfectly. I can see why this place is popular with the young crowd after a night at the boozer or a thing else... open late & cheap cheap, satisfying any cravings for food. Perfect spot for a cheap family night by the way. One slice would easily feed 2-3 kids. Great option for young families in from out of town if you want cheap casual & fast. Or an option if you are feeding a large group of people pizza!!

Scotty C.

Yelp
I'm gonna lean more on the positive here because I've had some mixed experiences. I've been going to Benny's since they opened and it's always nice to have as an option for a quick slice at lunch or to feed a late night pizza craving. I've done a whole pie a couple times and with family in town including a bunch of nieces and nephews, a whole pie really fed an army. I'm not a huge fan of adding toppings to pizza and then reheating it, but I understand why they do it I guess. If you have waste at the end of the night, each slice is like a whole small pizza. The staff is where I've sometimes run into issues. They seem to staff the place with mostly young kids who just don't really care at the end of the day. One mishap involved simple instructions to double cut a pizza... they forgot. Another involved the staff finding a palmetto bug on the floor while I was in eating. Instead of discreetly trying to deal with it, the two staff members moved booths around, screaming about a bug, and spraying pesticide trying to kill it. Really? I'm trying to eat over here. Ended up packing it up and just taking it to go. At the end of the day, I do like their pizza and enjoy the fact that they are a late night option in the Coleman blvd area. Overall my experiences have leaned more positive than negative so I'll be the glass-half-full guy. Hopefully they'll get the staff on board with how to run a restaurant.

Geronimo P.

Yelp
Pizza is BLAND. Yeah it's huge but the slices are so bland and tasteless. A half pepperoni pizza they charged me $36. Not worth the money I'd go elsewhere if you actually want a tasty pie not cardboard.

Amy Lauren S.

Yelp
If you need a pizza large enough to feed a small army, Benny Palmetto's might just be the place for you. I stopped in last night to try a slice of pizza after an event in Mt. Pleasant. The restaurant is small, like the menu. There are 5 different pizza varieties- cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and two specials of the month- one veggie, one meat. Sometimes a simple menu is a good thing. With so few pizza choices, I was surprised to see a plethora of drinks- everything from sodas to alcoholic drinks... including drink brands I've never heard of before. I was pretty hungry, so I ordered two slices of the spinach and feta, the veggie special of the month. I managed to eat most of one slice (my husband happily ate the other slice). The slice prices range from $4.50-5.50, but since the slices are so big, it's a pretty good deal. They also have a special where you can get a cheese slice, drink, dipping sauce, and King of Pops popsicle for $8. The slices are so big, I can't imagine why anyone would NEED to order one of the large pizzas unless they had a crowd of 8-10 to feed. As far as the pizza's taste goes, it wasn't the best pizza I've ever had in Mt. Pleasant. The pizza was really greasy and when I got the bags home, it was covered in grease (I guess that saved me from having to "dab" the grease off the pizza!). It was the largest slice of pizza I've ever eaten, though! I think Benny Palmetto's is a great place to stop for a quick slice on your way back from the beach, or if you want a cheap and easy lunch. There's also a restaurant challenge to eat an entire pizza, but for many of us, the biggest challenge is fitting one of those large pizzas into a compact car...

John C.

Yelp
We were in the area, and the kids were begging for some pizza. Not knowing what was good in the area, we stumbled across Benny's after reading some reviews. In summary, the slices are just like the ones you would get on a cheap side corner of new york city, which is awesome. It really took us back to our trip to the city a few years back. The menu is simple, just pizza and beer. They have a 28" with a challenge of trying to eat it in under an hour. Wait staff is really friendly and told us of some stories of folks trying it in the past, seems like the record is under 7 minutes, which is insane! Right next to shem creek park and coleman's, recommend if you want a good, large, slice of NY style pizza.

Adam H.

Yelp
Went here a few years ago and woke up hungover and was craving it while visiting mt pleasant. If you've never been here you have to go. One of the biggest pieces of pizza you have ever scene. I believe 28inch pizza. It's funny watching people walk thru the door with a full pie and have to turn it sideways to get it in. The flavor of the pizza is great. They do have limited ingredients, but they do have my pepperoni and sausage so I am all good. Have good and different drinks in the cooler that you don't see everyday. $2.00 PBR is a good mix for a humongous slice of pizza. If your in town I would totally recommend visiting this place and grabbing a slice. 2 slices is too much

Laura F.

Yelp
Awesome pizza, but TERRIBLE WAIT TIME AND SERVICE. Took over 60 minutes to just get 5 by the slice pieces of pizza...and two were cheese, which isn't that difficult. When we went in to ask about our pizza (which we paid for already) they told us they forgot to write it down and didn't offer any sort of compensation. We got frustrated watching people who came 30 minutes after us getting their food first...when they ordered custom pies. They also got free slices for waiting-but we didn't. I'll stick with Red Baron.

Sarah C.

Yelp
Went in for pizza like I have for several years. I get a cheese pizza like always. I do not eat meat and haven't for many years and I am half way through my pizza and there are random pepperoni pieces on them. I immediately went to the bathroom and started to hyperventilate and vomited everywhere!! After I go to the register and the young women and man were very nice and tried to see if I could get a refund so they I just went to ask the manger on duty? Who was a light skinned women sitting down wearing AirPods. I suppose she called the owner and he said no refunds. She was absolutely so rude to me and even told me "good luck" as I walked out. She was extremely rude and coming from someone who works in food and bev I would never treat a costumer like that.

Chris F.

Yelp
The workers are so blah. They don't smile and couldn't care less about being polite to the customers- pizza is good so 3 out of 5 toos

sam h.

Yelp
Very rude workers only one actually seems to want to be there the rest could careless the GM is awful with customers doesn't know how to run a restaurant especially when it comes to hiring...

Vincent V.

Yelp
My brother lives in New York, New York and I frequent him time to time. With that said if you're looking for New York pizza then this is the place for you. Whether you drop by for a slice or drop by for a box that'll barely fit in your car... this pizza is fresh and foldable. Enjoy!

Kelly C.

Yelp
As a New Haven native, I was very nervous to go to Benny Palmetto's. Pizza down South just isn't the same. We walked in and saw that they only had a handful of options for pizza, and that the slices are the size of a small pizza back home and I realized I was right to be wary. When our pizza was ready, they definitely redeemed themselves a bit. I would have liked more sauce, but the pizza was fresh, hot, and definitely good quality. I'd love to see them offer more toppings but you can't beat two slices (or two pies) for less than $10.

Eva B.

Yelp
My friends and I went to grab a slice at around 1 am because it is advertised as open until 2 am. Girl with short hair and a sleeve at the counter was not friendly and shortly after ordering when our pizza was ready around 1:30 am she said they were closing the inside and told us we had to eat outside. She kicked everyone out except for one table and was very rude.

Allison M.

Yelp
So here's the deal with any of the Benny's pizza joints, as we have visited more than one.... unless you are falling over drunk there's not much to appreciate about this pizza. And it's so utterly disappointing because 1) the pizza slices are HUGE, and let's face it, they look like they should taste amazing. And 2) they're open late, which is really great if you're looking for something to snack on after hours. Why is the pizza bad then? There's not enough sauce on it for one. And the crust is really awful. It's just chewy and doesn't brown up on the bottom and quite honestly it's somewhere in between the consistency of wet cardboard and a synthetic shammy cloth. All you taste is fried cheese, and grease. So, if you're hard up for pizza and your choices are limited, give it a go. If you're really in the mood for good local pizza, try Luke 'n Ollie's out by Isle of Palms. I will say this of Benny's; everyone who works there is really friendly and nice. And I do appreciate that they have Vernor's by the can in their cooler.

Wendy F.

Yelp
Don't hate me because I don't love Benny's ... I tried ... I really tried. But, frankly, I was hoping for a little more ... more toppings, more sizes, more menu selections. Is that too much to ask ... (especially, with Andolini's right across the street ... and La Pizzeria right up the road)? Benny's sells just two sizes ... 14" slices or 28" pies. You can order either size, just with cheese ($4.50 and $32.00 respectively), or, with one additional topping ... either sausage or pepperoni ($5.50 and $38.00, respectively). Two additional toppings are rotated each month at the premium price. But, what about a salad ... or multiple toppings ... or, ... or, ... you get the picture! OK, the size is certainly a draw ... but bigger is not always better and frankly, it isn't enough to draw me back to Benny's. When I order a whole pie, anywhere, I expect it to be fresh, piping hot ... made to order. The pie that I purchased for my hub, today, clearly was not. In fact, I saw the associate simply add slices of sausage to a whole cheese pie that was already baked and (waiting to be sliced up and served to walk ins) then, re-bake it. Yes, my hub's face did light up when I came home with the huge, huge box but his delight quickly turned to disappointment when he picked up the first slice of the limp and underdone crust and bit into cheese that not only was overlooked but looked and tasted like it was prepared at least 45 minutes earlier. Top line ... if you're coming off a night of partying and have the munchies ... then, Benny's is the place for you. If not, there are other spots in Mt. P where you can get great pizza at a better price. Sorry :(

Sarah F.

Yelp
Being from New England, it's really hard to find good pizza down here in the south but... Bennys is amazing!! Def the type of pizza that you fold to eat and is so delicious , my daughter and I were so pleased to find this place!! Love it so much and never disappoints!
