The 19 Best Desserts In London - London - The Infatuation

"On sunny afternoons, people spill out of Benny's onto Broadway Market with a scoop of gelato. But you should look past the tempting ice cream display, and order the soğuk baklava—drenched in a milk-based syrup, rather than a more traditional sugar and honey one—from the small takeaway dessert spot instead. We return, rain or shine, for the layers of filo with chopped walnuts and, in the best way possible, the almost soggy levels of moistness." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager, sinead cranna

Bennys Broadway Review - Hackney - London - The Infatuation

"On a sunny day, people spill out of Bennys onto Broadway Market with a scoop of gelato or soft serve drizzled in Biscoff sauce. Although the locally made ice cream hits the spot, you should look past the tempting display, and order squares of soğuk baklava from the small takeaway dessert shop instead. The chilled baklava is moist (almost soggy, in the best way) and sweet—it’s drenched in a milk-based syrup after baking, rather than a more traditional sugar and honey one. The school cake served with (hot) custard or ice cream is decent and satisfies that specific nostalgic craving, but the baklava is what we return for—rain or shine. photo credit: Daisy Meager" - Daisy Meager

Was lured here by all of the Instagram hype over the NYC banana pudding that they make here. We were not disappointed! Layers of banana, fresh cream & spongy biscuits are left to "steep" for 24 hours. They then serve it in tubs, absolutely filled to the brim. It was creamy, smooth & delicious & not overly sweet. We also bought a pot of tgeir limited edition rice pudding, which was made by their gran. We opted for a cinammon topping. They also sell a wide variety of "Hackney Gelato" ice creams / sorbets. Plus waffles, cakes & drinks, including milkshakes. The interior was very clean & the staff were very friendly & keen that he had actively chosen to visit them whilst on holiday in London. The shop is close to the London Fields park so we sat on a bench there to eat our puddings. All round, it was a very nice experience & well worth the trip.

I tried the banana pudding at Benny’s Broadway and it was absolutely delicious! It had just the right level of sweetness, the texture was perfectly fluffy, and the banana flavour really came through! Unfortunately, the rice pudding didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It was quite watery and lacked flavour, so I don’t think I’d order that again. But I’ll definitely be back for more of that banana pudding!

Second time here! The first time, I tried the banana pudding. I had no idea what to expect, but I ended up loving it! This time, I went for the Alphonso mango ice cream. Such a luxurious flavour at an affordable price, absolutely delicious.

I found this place by accident but I am so glad it happened, as a frequent traveller to New York, I yearn for banana pudding and this fulfilled all of my cravings. The price was actually really good for the amount of food you get, I would suggest having different prices for different sizes as I would've loved a bigger tub. Not only is the price good for the size but it is absolutely amazing when you compare it to the quality, the banana pudding tastes so fresh and creamy- not as sweet but almost better than Magnolia Bakery. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to try banana pudding for the first time or anyone who needs to satiate that Magnolia Bakery urge.

The service was so lovely I just had to leave a review! He was very cheerful and interacted with every customer gently it really warmed my heart! The banana pudding was also fantastic - the right balance of creamy and not overly sweet. Saw many kids stop by for the gelato and would definitely like to try that next time.

The pistachio ice cream was good but the banana pudding was amazing!!! I initially got a cup to try and share with my husband, I walked right back and got him a cup because I wanted to finish mine up 😂

Well what can i say about their banana pudding!!! Every bite is a celebration, definitely delicious and taste amazing, keep coming back for it. Their biscoff milkshake and clotted ice cream are also one of my favorites. All their produce are amazing. I dont understand all these bad reviews, the owners are the most amazing, generous & kind couple you could ever meet.

Good banter at the counter and great opinions on all things ice cream. I like the fact they don’t do tasters! Every flavour is good. £5 for 2 scoops, sticky toffee seemed to be the crowd favourite but gingerbread was the surprise of the evening. Will definitely be back.
