Well this is more of just them making ribs and not really a true restaurant you have to carry it out I discovered this place because of our roommate who was ranting about this place the ribs are actually pretty good but if you're expecting to eat or dine in ambience-wise this is not the place as this is the tip of the West side of Chicago. Service was courteous someone named Michelle who either owns the place or works here give me a sample of the chicken turkey and the ribs before I bought. The ribs are good I didn't really care much for the turkey but the chicken was good my only disappointment why four out of five stars is that they did not have coleslaw only potato salad and I wasn't craving for that and I don't need any more carbs since I lost weight other than that little pricey for the large but I was that hungry for ribs they give you a separate sauce since it's dry rub tasting other than that that's my experience I have to now go home and eat it

Google
It was so good! I wasn’t able to take a great picture of what we ordered. Enjoyed the fried okra , coleslaw was perfectly made. Rib tips with french fries soaked with their sauce were so satisfying. I did not regret ordering the hungry man combo. It has turkey , chicken and fish. The best chicken I’ve ever tasted so far! It has that delicious crush and the right amount of flavor. It was the best take out I’ve ever tasted! Love them! Try them! 😊😊😊

I will never return to this business again! The cashier gave my food away and then asked me to chase down the man that SHE gave my food to! Then she blamed me and became upset and began arguing and raising her voice! The owner was extremely nice and professional, and she apologized, and had the kitchen remake my food, but then when the food was ready, the cashier told me to go to the car to get my ticket, knowing that the food was prepared especially for me! The cook brought my food outside, but the bbq was overcooked and extra chewy. Horrible experience.

Google
I ordered six slabs of ribs for a family dinner and my husband didn't check the pans when he received them and it was only four (two in two pans) and when I called them they denied it. The person that answered the phone said he was going to check with the person that prepared them and came back and said that he watched him pack the food so why did you need to talk to him. Check your order before you leave. The ribs were $35.00 a slab so they aren't getting any more of my money.

Google
Excellent and enjoyable pork tips and links!  Never hard and over cooked. My 3rd visit for Pork Tips and Links Combo and Ben's consistent. The folks at Ben's know what they are doing.

Google
I got into a car accident for this BS, food is old, dry, tasteless, overprice and not done!!! Never again, I can't believe this, and did you all notice nobody is saying sorry we'll address the issue, they don't care, people always screaming support black business, REALLY!!!! P.S I taste fish and I ordered ribs& chicken!!!

Google
I’m a Southside Woman and usually only eat ribs from my end of town, however, a conference I was attending on the Westside of town let out late so I looked for Barbecue (on Google of course) and made my way to Ben’s Bar-Be-Cue. I got there 30 minutes before closing, normally people are in a bad mood or serve the days remaining food with attitude, so I was surprised when I was greeted and offered a taste test by none other than Mr. Ben himself! I love the pride in ownership and confidence in his product as he told me about his barbecue. Now about his ribs... I still eat pork, but was surprised to learn that he offers chicken and turkey tips for a real diverse offering of grilled meats. He gave me a sample of each with the regular sauce and I was IMPRESSED with the tenderness of the meat and the flavor of the sauce. It took me right back to some of my favorite southside locations. The smoke on the meat popped threw the flavor and made me want to slap my own mama it was so good. I decided to get “Ben’s Combo” which had a three meat sampling: pork rib tips, sausage link, fried chicken with sauce and fries with the Spicy Sauce instead of plain and a slice of caramel cake 🍰I made the right choice! One of the first things I noted about my meal was the packaging. I’m used to getting barbecue in a foam container that often pops open and leaves my food rubbing against a plastic bag. Take a look at the photo, the good was served in a plastic container with a secure lid, so no pop opens or drop out food and the portion size was generous!!! The food was hot, fresh, flavorful and by the time I was finished, I had to roll myself away from the table!!! This was excellent barbecue and I recommend it to everyone, but especially Southsiders driving through 🤣🤣🤣 As I close this, I’m still thinking about the sauce, it was so good, I want to lick my fingers for effect 🥘🤗😊 😆 (Note: if you read all this, give the review a like)

Google
This place is horrible!!!! The customer service from the manager Linda a negative zero . The manger stated they had a new employee in the back and apologized . But then told me she couldn’t give me a refund due to their 3rd party delivering service policy !!!! When I declined she said well I can go back thur “chow now” and I don’t have to order with Ben’s bbq again ! Like how you big mad about my order being messed up by your staff ???? I don’t want to come back there for an exchange IM AT WORK TF. Incompetent, rude, unprofessional. Now I’m stuck with $60 extra dry turkey tips and awaiting a refund from “chow now”. PS YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ME ORDERING FROM HERE MS LINDA. BROTHER IN LAWS BBQ IS BETTWE ANYWAYS!!!!!

Xavier P.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Cashiers blatantly ignored request for napkins and extra sauce. And told customers coming in to pick up uber eats orders to completely cancel their delivery because it was gonna take an hour

Yelp
I came back to Chicago last week and I went to one of my favorite places in the city and I was very surprised with disappointment!!! The place that I remember is no longer in existence... I'm hurt by that the food was plentiful but gone was the taste and the sauce was just not the same... And they barely wanted to put sauce on the plate... Guess when I do decide to go back to Chicago I will not be going back... And the meat had way too much fat on it, how do u have fat on Turkey tip???? I use to give this place 5 stars all the time but now.....
google avatar

Jenny J.

Yelp
Food is decent but the price is insane for the amount of food you get. $20 for a large rip tips but it looks like a small not a large. Rip off

Beverly P.

Yelp
I've been ordering from Ben's for years and truly enjoyed the service. The past few orders have left much to be desired. The tips have been under cooked. I usually order on Wednesday (senior discount) or the weekend. You may want to employ a better pit master!
google avatar

Bianca W.

Yelp
The portion size is ridiculous!!! This makes no sense! No fries which I asked for I literally received 6-7 fries Black businesses have to do better. Im

Yelp
On July 1 2022 at 1:15 ( opened late cleaning grill) Placed order for 2 XL rib tips cut small( always cut in big hunks not like tips should be cut.)Did not have any fries (really start of 4th weekend poor management) gave slaw and potato salad to replace fries which they could have kept.$51.99 wasted.look at this leftover bbq cut in hunks. I will never spend another cent at this black business. Hard to support black businesses when start cutting corners. Charge high prices for leftover bbq. Why donate to a shelter write it off on your taxes. SERVE QUALITY FOOD SO YOU CAN CONTINUE TO GET SUPPORT.

Marty H.

Yelp
Would have gave them no stars. I Paid for my order waited 35 minutes and no food 4 people that ordered after me got there food and 2 of these people ordered the same thing I did ask about my order and they say there isn't a order. Asked for my money back and they offer me a sampler. I will not be returning to this restaurant again and will tell all my friends on social media to stay away and pass the message
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
Currently the restaurant has a long wait time and the prices have gone up...not really worth price for small portion sizes.
google avatar

Haman G.

Yelp
This place is very very very very very very overpriced. $32 for some ribs tips. I don't how bens stay in business. I believe in support local business. They just rob me with out a gun.
google avatar

Joseph C.

Yelp
I've been a loyal customer for 15yrs plus To me ever since it became BENS. There customers services are bad. U can't place an order over the phone dew to pandemics You have to come in. Does it make sense? There hrs are shitty never opened. Changing the mild sauce We the neighbors wish we still had JOES BBQ Or sell the business give someone the chance to run it as should. Food is still good on most days. Keys to success is to listen to your consumer It can all end fast . Good luck Won't spend another $40 there Sucks cause I was your biggest fan Sincerely joe

Ramon N.

Yelp
Always on point Chicken Tips and the cookies hits the spot u have to ask for utensils now tho

Yelp
Amazing BBQ! We got takeout during COVID and loved every bite. Bone-in brisket (ribs) take about an hour so give yourself plenty of time, they're worth it! You can call ahead for pickup. And don't forget the cookies, they're melt-in-your-mouth and so good.

Gwen C.

Yelp
Absolutely the best fried chicken in the city. They don't just throw battered wings into some hot grease. It's fried with some of the best ingredients and taste awesome. You can really taste the care put into it. It taste good with and without sauce.
google avatar

Beach L.

Yelp
I got 3 wings for 2.99 (before taxes). A sign in the wall stated no fries come with the order. There was no bread either. I also got a small rib tip for 11 + chng after taxes. I was shocked by the tiny container it came in. You get a handful of tips, it had no bread, all rib places in Chgo give you bread. The container the wings were in should've been the container for the small tips so you'd get more than a handful. The sauce had a loud fragrance that filled the room & made me queasy. The sauce had a strange flavor & aftertaste. I didn't finish the tiny tip order because it taste funny. I ate the wings but removed the skin because I like it crunchier. For the price of the food you don't get your money's worth. Be careful in that neighborhood, it is a high crime area, they have a security guard on duty in case something goes awry.
google avatar

Dee G.

Yelp
I like their ribs but without the sauce, it has a weird sour vinegar taste that I couldn't ignore, I seriously considered rinsing those bad boys. I gave 4 stars because there isn't many bbq places where you can eat the tips with no sauce. Ben's BBQ should get rid of the styrofoam containers and get the good old red on the outside white on the inside paper containers that holds up a large tip with fries perfectly AND there's no risk of swallowing a ducking staple.
google avatar

Consuela M.

Yelp
They just lost my business already. I'm trying to support black businesses, but they are the ones whose customer service is lacking. I swear when I call Harolds, Jay's BBQ, Coleman's or Ben's I'm told they won't take call in orders. But I can go to longhorn or Famous Dave's, call it in and get curbside. It's very disappointing because I wanna show support but I shouldn't have to come in to order and stand around a crowd waiting for my food. Especially when service was slow before a pandemic.
google avatar

Yelp
Just finished enjoying some good BBQ! I was skeptical at first, being that good rib tips are hard to find in certain areas around Chicago, but this place is a for sure go to for a great BBQ fix. Ordered a large tip and 10 wings, absolutely no complaints! Great sauce and the meat was cooked perfectly! I asked for a extra side of hot BBQ just to try it out because I love spicy BBQ, but it wasn't included in my order. I will blame that on this ordering system with Yelp delivery and not the establishment. The food was good enough that it didn't bother me whatsoever. I definitely recommend this place, I've tried a lot of different BBQ joints around the city and beyond, and this one gets a gold star from me. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu.
google avatar

Krissy W.

Yelp
Yummy! They have chicken tips, turkey tips and some good rib tips!!! Man! This is a real BBQ Joint right here! You smell this place a block away. They have a real old fashion pit and you see that sucker from the front. The staff is very friendly. And the food here is Bomb! Get the tips with or without sauce and you will want to smack someone it's so good. You can get it without sauce that's how you know it's good. I always get the sauce cuz it's good as hell too and what's bbq without sauce? The chicken wings are good too. Fries fresh. They accept all forms of payment even Apple Pay. They deliver on grubhub too but I wouldn't order that way. You have to go in and get a fresh order. This place was in Chicago's Best too. The actual location is in a area that's a little shady, but they have a huge security Guard posted in front to keep you safe. :) Don't be scared. Just get here.
google avatar

Natalie S.

Yelp
Quality time with quality people. This will convert you to BBQ if you're not normally a fan. The service is super friendly, they do catering, and the food is COMPLETELY worth it. Just do it. You won't regret it.

Carressa L.

Yelp
First of all .... I am disappointed when you spend your money you expect to get your money worth what is ribs without what is burger without stop being so cheap and give us some dame french do that watch GOD blessing come your way even MORE.......
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
Best Bbq in the area. Great staff. Good portions for its value. Damn good sauce! I want to try the menu but I can't break away from the tips and slabs. Definitely worth the trip.
google avatar

Paula W.

Yelp
I visited Bens today it was a toss up betwewn Bens and Colemans bbq, but I just didnt feel like dealing with the attitude at Colemans. I ordered wings, tips, and liks. A small link was 8 dollars there were only 2 links, the ribtips were cut so thin it was like they took 1 tip and cut it into thirds, and the chicken wings were little bird wings. Taste was good but I could have gotten twice as much food at colemans for the same price. Also they load up the new "styrofoam" container with tons of fries leaving you with less meat. It just wasnt worth yhe price I paid, next time I will just head farther west and deal with the attitudes for better food.
google avatar

Oliver P.

Yelp
Second time here, respectable both times. This time had the fish combo including perch, catfish, shrimp.
google avatar

Jillian O.

Yelp
Both my soda and sauce were missing from my order. The food is all fairly tasteless & tastes like it comes from a box or bin supplied by Monsanto. You can find better.
google avatar

Latoya A.

Yelp
I've also tried the pork hot links. PHENOMENAL! The turkey tips are super good as well. The chicken wings were good but smoked meats are the delights here. I always get the large combo with a side of fries and I have enough food for three sittings, ok two if I'm being piggish. Best to call ahead at peak times or prepare to wait over thirty minutes. Also worth noting that the owners Tyrone & Linda are great, they truly care about the quality of the food & service, not to mention their employees are treated very well here so they are motivated to offer excellent service. Key points: You may need to circle the block once but parking is free. A little pricey compared to other rib joints. Delivery Now available through UberEATS or Eat24.

Bepos1luv O.

Yelp
This is my first time trying their food. Ordered the Hungry Man and Woman special with small rib tibs. Food was good and hot, with decent portions. They came in nice containers and the price was average. TIP...call-in to get accurate price.
google avatar

Suvondal T.

Yelp
This place has some of the best barbecued anything in town! The link & tip combo is one of my favorites. The chicken wings with mild sauce is a close second and lastly I love the pizza puff dipped in mild sauce. It's just something about the bread when it's smashed into the food with sauce! :) Two reasons why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. *The price of the food (especially the links) keep going up drastically. *If you do not call your order in you can easily wait 30-45 minutes for your order. In waiting at least you know it is fresh. Do not let the neighborhood run you away. The most that will happen to you is the bootleg man will try to sell you DVDs, CDs, socks or towels.
google avatar

Mars C.

Yelp
This is one of the best places for chicken tips outwest sauce is fire (for those who can't see the emojis). They are super friendly and even if you have it delivered are pretty

Yelp
Delicious!! Only had it a few times but in that time food arrived perfect. Bbq is fresh and the fries are a hit

Yelp
I'm not happy. The other day I called at 5:00 to find out if they had a wait for pickup orders. The girl said there was a one hour wait. That was fine cause I still had to run errands. I'm an essential worker and had Saturday do to my grocery run at Jewel and pick up my prescrip. at CVS. I called back five minutes later to place an order and the owner took my order. 2 orders of rib tips with hot sauce and one chicken tips mild sauce. Now I'm a long time customer at Bens, so I know the score. I call back at 6:00 to see if my order is ready and there is lots of conversation and no one can find my order. I'm on hold for 10 minutes. That is a long, long time. Finally the girl comes back and says it will be another 40 minutes. WTF? I ran all my errands and pulled over to call my aunt and would still have to wait 40 minutes? That is some bullshit. I have been a customer here for almost 10 years and sometimes they make a mistake but they make good on it. But I'm working all week, running my ass off with the masked madmen who have all week to shop but wait until Sat afternoon, and all I want to do is eat some ribs and watch TV. Not me, I got to go home and cook dinner at 7 at night because these folks can't get their shit together. I'm sorry Ben's but I'm pissed. I don't expect special treatment I do expect that if you tell me 40 minutes, it ain't gonna be 1 hour and 35 minutes, and I still go no food. You sure isn't keeping it 100.
google avatar

Crissy W.

Yelp
overpriced, where can you get decent bbq ?? 7$ for 4 wings?? but 3 wings no fries 2.99?? Ben's sampler= 1 wing 5 tips 5 fries? who counts fries?!! mini tip 8$, I got 3 wings, & a mini tip ($12) all were drowned in sauce , which tasted like doctored up ketchup? wings had a good taste, but could have cooked a little longer, tips tasted boiled..I won't be back.

Travis S.

Yelp
I did love Ben BBQ Until they stopped taking call in orders . I was coming here often calling my order in when today all of sudden they do not accept calling orders like WTF it take y'all at least 30 mins to prepare the food because it's cooked at the time of the order and you're telling me I can't call it in THIS IS A TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! Bad business.
google avatar

C Lynn H.

Yelp
Ben's was recommended to me by my nail tech and her customer. This is going to be my go to place for ribs/links combo. Also they're on UberEats.
google avatar

Techa L.

Yelp
This is my go to place for fried fish. The seasoning they used is the best I've had from a restaurant thus far. It kind of reminds me of home-cooked fried fish.
google avatar

Selena T.

Yelp
Best rib tips! Friendly staff, they are open till late,I would highly recommend to anyone! Better than other small business I have been too! We always get the bucket of rib tips for any of our events.

Yelp
Barbecue so good, you'll break promises. Monday's commute home from work. I'm eight hours deep as a newly-minted vegetarian, and I'm yearning for flesh. Tasty flesh. Enter Ben's BBQ. In this corner, from the West side of Chicago, wearing a corner brick facade, weighing in at 500 pounds of barbecuing artist(s) soaking wet, standing in a kitchen narely 30 square feet, sporting a bullet proof glass grill... it's Ben's BBQ. In the other corner, from the South side of Chicago, wearing business casual clothes, with a bone-dry earth mass of over 100 kilos, sitting in his car in northwest side traffic, and sporting a grimace for breaking his promise to fight the urge to go carnal - and losing that fight, again, before the bell has even rung... it's me. No contest. But I had my dignity. Yes, I lost. And I'm ordering a large rib tips with hot links to go with another beef ribs for good measure. I'm detoured an extra hour driving through parts of the city as unknown to me as Andrew Zimmern's favorite pig parts. So I promised myself. I will fight the urge to eat Ben's BBQ while driving home. No contest. I was hungry. I missed meat. It was barbecue. I sweat. And then I teared, into, the bag, because I threw in towel, before the bell even rung. Two promises broken. So much for word is bond. Ben's BBQ reduced my bond rating to junk status.

Yelp
I'm saying. So I'm coming back from Maywood yo. And I'm hungry, like a wolf, and I smell smoke, good smoke. BBQ smoke. so like a bloodhound I engage and follow it to it's source, a little cue house on the corner, son. I'm talking bout first of all, I ordered an extra large tip cause I'm thinking. They probably on some Honey 1 BBQ sh*t where they be steady ripping off hipsters and yuppies who don't know no better and me too who do know better but didn't have no choice because Honey 1 BBQ is the only real BBQ joint in Logan Square. But I don't F*ck with them no more, son. Yea, I can understand Honey 1 BBQ "coming-up on a come-up", by getting some clandestine "reparations" for 400 years of slavery by over charging white folks for miserly proportions. But I'm a Brotha! So how you gonna juke me? But then I remember that this is da hood, son. And in da hood you can't get away with steady ripping folks off unless you're a JP Morgan Chase, CitiBank or Bank of America investment banker or an elected official. But any way, the price was only 13: 89 son instead of the 20 dollars they charge at Honey's! And my man behind the triple reinforced bullet proof( for all you predatory jackers out there, go else ware!) counter top window, comes back with a Leaning Tower of Pisa made of firm yet tender rip tips dripping with hot and mild sauce, and, not just one, not just two, but THREE slices of Wonder Bread perched atop of it like a White LL Cool J Kangol Cap, you-know-what-I'm-saying? I'm saying though! So I get it home right, cause it can barely fit in the boot of my scooter and I got a huge cactus also for the ride home, but that's another story. So any way, I get home and unveil this rip tip tower. I'm talking taller than the steeple of the Mormon Temple that's about five miles north of Washington D.C,son! D.C. ain't go no BBQ, but that's another story. Any way, so I sample on of these savories. First I get a powerful burst of hickory infused with cherry wood with a deep hint of allspice. I thought it was cinnamon at first. Then I tasted the spicy zest and saw saw an allspice pepper in the sauce, boyyyyy! I ain't lying. How clever is that? I ate four of them mutha F*ckers cooked to perfection. I'm talking moist grayish pink on the inside and gently charred on the outside holding it together like a sandwich. And after the third, my belly was swelling, so I put the rest away for tomorrow's dinner, keyed. I'm saying. Now lets add up the stars. The taste and quality of the tips, get the highest rating, three stars, son. On value, especially during what is the second American Depression, three stars. Sauce, three stars, and during these pandemic violent times in Chicago, what has become a very important rating, Thug Love, zero stars! Seriously, I saw the white socks and white T-shirt man and the Boot leg C.D man, and the scrape metal man, but no thugs hanging and or slinging, and this is a corner spot, yo. So you might as well get there son, I'm saying. On a historical note, the late great Andre Williams must have had these tips when he wrote and sang his legendary songs........ "Rib Tips Part 1 & 2 "Guh Guh Gimme some of dem RIB TIPS! Ooh wee, ooh wee Ooh wee, ooh wee. " These rib tips show is good! Ooh wee, ooh wee Ooh wee, ooh wee. Gimme some of yours and I'll give you some of mine Ooh wee, ooh wee Ooh wee, oooooooh.........RIB TIPS! May I have a toothpick, please uhmmm uhmm uhmm RIB TIPS!"

Yelp
Can't save enough love it. Clean place huge portions. Friendly staff. Fresh every order. Will be back. One of those hidden gems.

Yelp
I have had a lot of barbecue. This is some of the best damn barbecue you will ever have. It is without a doubt the best barbecue I have had in the last year. Some friends and I biked here from Logan Square, ordered a huge amount of meat and ate in a nearby park. You can't miss the place - it's the only storefront with a smokestack coming out of the roof. We got pork ribs, rib tips, hot links, okra, two sides of coleslaw, and two peach cobblers - all for $51 and change. Split that 6 ways, and it was an amazing meal for almost nothing. You just cannot go wrong here. I think I found nirvana from the hot links alone. The staff was great! The woman behind the counter gave us approximately one bazillion wet naps, all of which were needed. Ben's is carry-out only. I don't think they sell any drinks from behind the counter, but there are some vending machines with soda. (Didn't matter to me, I had a water bottle.) As others have said, don't worry about the neighborhood. I'm sure the bulletproof glass is there for a reason, but we didn't run into any trouble at all. My wife is vegetarian but I'm going to find an excuse to come back here anyway.

Vanessa R.

Yelp
So I ordered from uber eats and the deliver guy never showed up. The deliver guy closed the order stating the he arrived and I never came out to get my order. Mind you I was sitting outside the whole time!!!! I contacted uber eats and they are nothing more then theives. They refuse to give me a refund. I contacted bens and was told that if he made the order again I would have to pay again. I've been eating bens for years. Its sad that you lost a customer today! Great food horrible customer service!
google avatar

Santi D.

Yelp
Large portions, they take credit, and you take it to go. Pros: Large portions Most orders come with fries Friendly service Street parking is free Cons: Carry-out ONLY It's not closer to my home This place is pretty great. After the amazing review in the Chicago Reader and watching Kevin Spacey chow down on "House of Cards" I couldn't wait to try Ben's. The place conjures up endless thoughts of divey food at a great price that hopefully only you know about. Be prepared to feast. We ordered a slab and a half, an extra order of fries, and were easily filled. I shouldn't have eaten so much but I love to clean my plate. Eating ribs is a very debatable topic so I can't tell you it's the best ribs I've ever had because everyone likes them a bit differently. I *can* tell you the ribs are very thick, soft to bite, moist, juicy, and have a medium-like hold on the bone. Personally I felt that the ribs and the sauce work in concert to give you a great experience. I've had ribs where the meat alone was award-winning and the sauce was an added bonus but that was at Naperville RibFest and those vendors are TOO far away. Don't shy away, order from Ben's, and plan where you're going to eat so your meat stays hot and your fries stay crispy. BBQ sauce is mild or spicy. Both are great, spicy sauce won't stop you from enjoying the flavorful cooking. Pork Ribs (full slab): $21 soft meat: not falling off the bone but holding on ever so ready for your hunger Fries: crinkly, not skinny, usually included Wings: $3 (three pieces w/ fries) Didn't try these but they are limited 2 orders per customer and available almost every day except Saturdays.

Yelp
I thought the ribs were too tough. My mother had them last year and they were more tender than this batch. They really jacked up my back teeth. We ordered on Sunday, the day before memorial day. It was so slow, it took about half an hour. They put sauce on the two orders of ribs, even though it was clearly specified that for one order, sauce was to go on the side. I had the hot link meal, and darn it, they were hooooooooooooot!!!! I could barely eat one, and I like really spicy food, like when your nose runs, this was way worse than that, they were headache-spicy. Poor mother suffered while eating hers. The barbecue sauce they put on there tasted really good with the fries and bread, but it seemed spicy as well. I would consider ordering them again, but I would have some ibuprofen on hand.

Yelp
Service is the worst. I try to support black businesses but they are the reason I don't. No professionalism when handling customer complaints or customer concerns. They are not professional on delivery app services either such as Doordash or Grubhub.

Yelp
Finally catching up on my reviews. Stopped here after a Hawks game. Ordered Ribs, Chicken, Rib tip / Hot link combo. Took a long time to get the food even though there was only one other customer. The three of us sampling the food all thought the same: The BBQ was just blah. None of it was very good. Meat was dry, sauce was not very tasty. Sad but true. Many better BBQ joints better than this one. Cheers to all

Yelp
Right now Ben's is the quiet contender for King of Ribs in Chicago. The food is just that good. Many Bar-B-Que places in Chicago are about what they use to be (Kennys, Colemans, Leons, Carson's & Robinson's) while serving mediocre food hoping you remember the old memories of when they serve good ribs but Ben's is about right now the present. I ordered the sampler (tips, wing & 3 fries) and took my first bite...wow. A nice taste that is reserved for cookouts with tasty sauces. I hope Ben's only keep the good flavors with time and not become "use to be" Place. Pros: Good Ribs, Great Rib Tips, Good Prices, Daily Special Cons: Take out only, Not enough fries with specials (3 fries) Bottomline: I discovered a new BBQ joint near Oak Park that is simply good. Give Ben's a try!

Yelp
Omg. If this is Chicago eating I am such a fan. We got a 3 meat platter that the owner let us test. As we were in Chicago for my sons college graduation and the owner was so dang nice. This may be a hole in the wall spot, but everyone should check them out. The player was Turkey tips, rib ribs and chicken tips. It was so damn juicy. I had to cuss. Even after being microwaved the next day cause the platter was that big.. the meat was still so soft I think a toothless person could've eaten it. Bravo to them if I'm even in the Chi again I'm making a beeline straight there. The owner also comp us some cakes they were delicious as well

Yelp
I didn't even make it to ordering the food. Reading the reviews about the service made me decide to call in my order. You would think that would be a good idea. Wrong!! A guy answered the phone and then started talking to a friend. Didn't say hold plz. I was repeating hello. By the fourth hello he returned to the phone and said "what's up". That was the end of my relationship with this business. Shame.

Yelp
I'm so on the fence with this review. Let me just say that the actual BBQ itself was actually good Honestly. I had some banana pudding which was well prepared as well. My BIGGEST gripe with this restaurant was the time. I drove a mighty long way to support this business amid the COVID-19 crisis and it wasn't what I expected in terms of service. First off you were unable to call in your order, which was kind of disheartening but understandable to a point in that maybe there were customers who were not picking up what they ordered and in this day and time that would be considered a time waster on so many levels. But when I finally got there to place the order I was told 30 minutes. Well, based on what I saw I gave them 40 minutes. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes for my order to be completed. I had my great aunt with me who thought It was a great idea and came along with me and purchased food as well....it was just a fiasco.... Man so much more to add but long to short. Would I take the trip again? Ummm, it's questionable. The experience was disappointing. This would probably be a very nice place if there was some order.

Yelp
I'll never go there again!! I went there at 12:05 pm for lunch. I ordered rib tips, the person told me it would be 10-15 wait because the ribs weren't cooked. I asked why would you open the doors if you don't have food cooked? The guy told me we cook everything fresh, as if it takes only 10-15 to cook ribs. I told him this is so typical in the hood. The guy literally snapped on me and followed me outside screaming and yelling and saying derogatory things. He seriously needs medication and customer service training along with a class on how to manage a restaurant. Never will I go back there, and I'm telling everyone my experience with this over priced shack!!
