Ben’s Kosher Delicatessen Review - Garment District - New York - The Infatuation

"For a sandwich or some matzoh ball soup in the Garment District, go to Ben’s. This is actually a mini-chain with a few locations in the tristate area, and they serve all your deli classics like pastrami, chopped liver, and potato pancakes. There’s also a larger menu of stuff like burgers, steaks, and salads, and everything here is, unsurprisingly, kosher." - Bryan Kim

My partner and I are looking for a Pastrami similar to the one in New York. We tried it when we went to visit the city and fell in love with the cuisine... this was without a doubt the most similar to New York we've tried here in Florida so far! The service is really excellent and the preparation is very fast, the bread is tasty and the pastrami is also delicious. I just found the meat a little dry, but I believe that's the type of meat! But other than that, the flavor is recommended and we'll definitely be back here!

This is a phenomenal NY deli in South Florida. Been here 4 or 5 times now, always great. Bottomless pickles and coleslaw!! Had a corned beef on rye and took another to go. Had the apple bread pudding with a coffee for desert and that was great too. Corned beef was moist and stacked on very fresh rye; the apple bread pudding was homemade and great too. The coffee had a delicious flavor, not weak and boring. The ambiance is authentic to a NY deli, service is fantastic, and the vibe and food are unique. This is a GREAT deli; don’t pass it up. Keepin’ it real no kickbacks!

The hot pastrami sandwich hits the spot! The half sour pickles are yummy too. The service was friendly. The decor is filled with funny quotes and sayings. Casual dining.

Nothing better than getting pickles ( sour and half sour) coleslaw when you sit down. Best pastrami and corned beef sandwiches around town! Highly recommend this spot for an authentic deli sandwich. A must visit if in the area.Consistent great food!. All the favorites grandma made.Brisket, corned beef, pastrami, matzo ball soup. Great service with a tentative staff.Lovely experience. I highly recommend this establishment. Very large restaurant with plenty of seating options. Lots of par

I don’t think black folks are welcomed so go somewhere else my people! Our server was Armando, he wears glasses & it was clear he was displeased to serve us. Tried his best to eventually be “nice” but it was too late and he was just faking it. Many of the cooks and waitresses continually pointed and stared at my husband and I. Still gave $5 tip when it should’ve been nothing. & usually we tip $40 plus!!! Food was 6/10… it was my first time and I told my husband i don’t wanna go back. The young lady at the front desk was very welcoming, as well as one server and one cook. But that’s 3 people out of 20. So majority was just completely displeasing all around. I guess they forget customers can leave a review on their experience. As a young African American, this restaurant left a bad taste and I wouldn’t recommend it. But hey maybe if you’re Jewish or white, maybe even Asian , go ahead I’m sure they’ll love you.

I’m originally from New York. My parents knew the owner, Ronnie. We’ve been living in Florida 17 years now. Now we are living in Florida. This is the 2nd time that we’ve been here. The waiter Gerry is a very nice person. It was well worth the 3 hour drive from Fort Myers.

New York style Kosher deli here in South Florida. Extensive Menu of Ashkenazi Jewish food and deli, along with other American faves. The free pickles and slaw as an appetizer alone is worth the trip. Great service, delightful and casual atmosphere, and a take out counter.

Went with a friend for the first time. Service was good. Minor detail, never came by to refill my water. Had to ask the Waiter as he was rushing by. Friend ordered soup and salad combo. He said chicken soup with matzo ball was excellent. He took the salad home. I had extra lean corned beef and a side of fries. Size of the sandwich was large. Corned beef was excellent. I took half home. Fries were ehh. Took most of them home for my cousin. They give you Cole slaw (which I don’t eat) and whole pickles (two types). Pickles were good. Friend liked the Cole slaw. After paying I went to the takeout and ordered a Rachel for my cousin. We had a discussion about the pastrami being lean or extra lean. The preparer persuaded me that lean would be better. It would have more taste. It came with a knish (I got the homemade potato which I ate since my cousin didn’t eat knishes. I gave him the fries that I took home). Here’s the problem-my cousin told me the next day that the sandwich had corned beef on it. Not pastrami. I couldn’t go back to complain since I live 2 1/2 hours away. Would I go back to Ben’s? If in the area probably. Get takeout? Maybe, but check it before leaving.
