Ben's Neighborhood Grill & Tap

We love going to Ben's, especially for their Burgers. I usually order Ben's Big Blu or the Bacon and Swiss cheese burger. My wife loves the Ziggy Figgy or the Bacon Jaminator. Great selection of Draft and Craft beers. The staff is very friendly and personable.

Small place but great food. I was happy the fries weren't basic. Tenders were good. My man was obsessed with the burger and will definitely be back

Went there tonight, family of four. Wife and I had a draft beer. Great selections. I had the cheeseburger and fries and they were perfect. Two other had the blackened chicken salad and reported it was great. One other had the chicken Caesar wrap and said it was perfect. Great service and great food. Will be back.

I'm not a bar guy, but this was the closest place to my hotel that had fish & chips. The food was good. The portion was more than enough. The atmosphere was like a sports bar. It was a early evening, so there were only a few patrons.

Absolutely phenomenal food! We ordered sweet potato fries as a shareable and it comes with apple butter 🤤 which was delicious! Then we ordered the peach chutney burger and oh my word was it so yummy! One of the best burgers I've ever had! Not going to lie, I'm normally great at taking photos of food at new (to me) places, but we devoured everything 🫣😂 no photos were taken. Just go ;)

Food was mediocre. Average tasting burger. Crispy but unseasoned fries. Large beer menu but very IPA and lager heavy. Tiny place. Low lighting. Music wasn't bad and had a couple tvs. I could add it as a nice hangout. Nothing special though I will say the service was very friendly and helpful. Kids menu names were super fun.

First time here from Montreal, Quebec and would definitely come back! Had the burgers and they were amazing 🤩 entrees were to die for ! The beers cold and delicious 🤤 Met the owner Nick and he was so friendly and kind. The place is so cozy we never want to leave! Thank you for a wonderful experience! Definitely recommend coming here! How did we never try Ben’s Neighborhood Grill on Hodgson. Food was amazing!! I had the OMG Craft Burger with caramelized onions, fresh truffle mushrooms and aioli! Best Burger EVER! Hubby had the Codfather Sandwich…such a fresh light bun and fish was outstanding! Great sides of potato salad and coleslaw too! You have to try this place!! Empty plates for sure!!

This place is definitely not a BIG spot, but the flavor and service make up for it. Everytime I come the food just seems to get better and better.

My mom was in town and wanted a good burger. I remembered that I hadn't eaten at Ben's. We got there a few minutes after they opened. Server was great but we didn't need a lot of attention. We both ordered a cheeseburger medium rare and onion rings. Our burgers were cooked differently, mine was a little more rare and hers was more done. I was shocked that after all the rave reviews etc that our burgers didn't have much flavor. I added salt and pepper, and that helped. I was really disappointed for the price. Also be aware they're changing prices on their menus which is understandable in this economy but it also means you don't know what you're spending unless you ask.

In the mood for burger and beer? Great neighborhood spot. Service was prompt, I had the OMG burger it was great. Hubby had black and blue, fries and sweet potato fries were perfect. Small place full of caricature.

We were in town for a doctor's appointment and literally opened yelp and threw a dart and ended up at Ben's. We are glad we did. This little hidden gem, at least for us out of towners, food lovers and restauranteurs ourselves, was a delightful treat. The burgers were flavorful and the creations very creative. The apple butter with the waffle sweet potato fries were money! Obviously there is a great culinary mind behind this venue. Lastly, the beer selection was on point and there was a great beer for everyone. The environment was inviting and the staff knowledgeable and very attentive. Enjoy this place!

Don't be fooled by the outside of this gem. Its doesn't look like much from the outside as it's within a strip mall, but inside is an amazing little pub with a local feel. Theres a few booths and tables and a small bar. The bartender was running the whole place when we stopped in and there wasn't an empty table, which is always a good sign. They have an extensive beer list and the food menu had a bit of everything. My husband and I split the gyro which I would highly recommend, it was amazing. I'd go back to this spot in a heartbeat.

I had my hesitations coming here searching for a good burger but I was surprised at how juicy and well seasoned they are!! I ordered the "Colonel Jack" burger with the upgraded onion rings and my boyfriend ordered the "OMG" burger with fries. I did notice that they forgot onions that were included in my burger after a couple bites but the servers were quick to bring them out for me. The only negative I would say is that the onion rings were not it. Some were soggy and when you bite into even the crunchy ones there was some liquid inside. TLDR: The servers were super friendly and attentive Colonel Jack, OMG burger, fries were really good Onion rings were NOT good!!

Wonderful Service and food. Was llooking for a bite to eat after work and I am from out of town. Felt right at home. Worth a visit and probably coming back to try some more.

Hands down the best Gyro I have ever had a a bar/pub. Big enough to split and was perfect for lunch. The bartender did awesome running the entire restaurant area and the bar counter. Food came out quick and they had a great draft list. Cool little setting on in older strip mall type setting.

I really want to love this place- it's cute and the food is good plus who doesn't love supporting a small local business. But the service and pricing honestly ruins it. I've tried this place maybe a dozen times over the last 4 years. Whether it's take out or dining in, the same issues persist. Despite being a small space already, they never seem to have enough cooks or servers to keep a smooth flow of service. It doesn't matter if you're sitting right in front of someone at the bar or standing at the front waiting to be seated, someone can look you in your eyes and still make you wait 15 minutes without addressing you. You can expect it to take at least 40 minutes for your food to be prepared- if you order take out, ignore the timeframe it gives you for pick up. Recalculate with at least 40 min. Do not count on getting refills of drinks. Overall, since the food is good, I wouldn't mind the expensive menu, but the fact that the service is terrible it makes it really hard to want to continue trying this place. Beware of where you order from- the restaurants "preferred" online ordering site will tag on a hefty gratuity automatically even for take out.

Stopped in at Ben's Neighborhood Grill & Tap for a beer and a quick lunch after running some errands and we are obsessed! The fries are perfect and the Peach Chutney and Goat Cheese burger was delicious. Cozy, clean, friendly bartenders and crispy draft beers. Very family friendly as well if you have kiddos.

This place is absolutely amazing!!! Try the raspberry cider! Had the OMG! Burger with the potato salad and by far one of my new favorite places. Absolutely nothing to complain about here. Music and atmosphere lovely. There was one server and he was amazing and such a hard worker. Tended to the bar and at least 6 tables and didn't keep us waiting.

Great food and great service! All of the food was great. Great beer menu. And the service was amazingly fast. It's located in a strip mall, but don't let the outside deter you from giving this place a try. Lots of locals were eating here.

Where do I even start. There was one server for the whole restaurant so the service was very slow. The food prices were pretty high so we were expecting a lot from the food. The chicken Caesar wrap came with two pieces of lettuce and had no flavor and to top it off it was 17 dollars. We also got the 6 piece hot honey chicken wings that were 13 dollars!! They gave us the wrong flavor as well but we didn't even mention it because it would have taken forever(only one server). I should also mention the food was cold. This experience was overall terrible and extremely frustrating considering the prices were high and food quality was low. I would not recommend anyone to go there, it would be a waste of time and money.

Craving a juicy, melt in your mouth burger? Pull up to Ben's Neighborhood Grill! Their burgers are absolutely amazing, fresh, creative and oh so juicy. They have plenty of awesome beers, ales, ciders to wash that burger down with also. Service is great. Parking is easy, BMG is cozy, makes you want to kick back, relax and explore more beers. They say the most intelligent people consume burgers and beer.

Good solid burgers! Good service. Pet friendly. My boyfriend really enjoyed his burger as well as his onion rings. I ordered the peach chutney burger and a side salad. The side salad was very fresh. The burger was cooked perfectly. Next time I would try the fig burger. My boyfriends believes this is the best burger in Savannah. I'm still in search.

Not enough wait staff and the food was not fresh. It was dark and dingy. It did not feel very clean.

To say we had a blast at Ben's is an understatement. The servers were what made it. Mackenzie is hands down the best server they have. She made our experience so fun. Food was fantastic. Awesome ass burgers! It's also such a fun cute little joint. The locals made it! Thanks for a great experience!

By far the best craft beer and burger bar in Savannah. Soooo many cans to choose from and delicious burgers using hunter cattle meats.

Service: Very good. Well trained, and attentive. Food: Excellent. My favorite Fish & Chips in town (maybe beyond). Price: Very good for the quality of food and service. Highly recommend.

I am not necessarily a food snob or a privileged customer but I'm pretty sure when you order your food the waitress isn't supposed to say, "Gross" out loud. I was with a friend and didn't want to ruin the night so I let that go. If the burger tasted like 30 dollars or came with wonderful presentation I would justify it myself BUT ITS JUST A BURGER. The ambiance is nice though, a well decorated interior. I will never be coming back to this rip off with horrible service.

Good food, great service and an amazing beer list! We had the wings, gyro, onion rings, waffle fries and peach chutney/goat cheese burger. Everything was delicious and prepared to order. The bartenders were so friendly and attentive. They also made great recommendations for the brews. One of our new favorite stops in South Savannah!!!

Definitely one of the best hamburgers I've had in a long time. My wife and I both ordered the southern drawl which has pimento cheese and a fried green tomato on it. There's some type of homemade jam on it that really sets the burger off. French fries were delicious. Service was outstanding. And, perhaps the cleanest and most organized bathroom I've ever been in. It was like being in your own home. I've never rated a bathroom before, but I have to tell you that it was exceptional, especially for a restaurant/bar. Again the food was outstanding, and we will definitely be back.

Our favorite hidden gym in savannah! The best burgers!! Don't let the exterior fool you, the interior is amazing, great vibe, service is always great, and not too expensive for the big portions. The sweet potato fries are the best i've ever had!

Another bad experience. I had a bad experience about a year ago with not being waited on while the place barely had anyone in it. I decided to try again today. The same thing happened again. Sparsely occupied, the hostess said she'd be right with us. Over five minutes went by without her coming over. There were plenty of places to sit but she made us wait for her to take care of side work. Two visits, two walkouts. It's as if they don't care if they have customers or not. Very sad!

Got a takeout order of burgers and fries. While I waited, and it was fast, I had a great IPA draft. Excellent service. Burgers were awesome, fries were great. Will be stopping here again the next time we are in Savannah!

My last review for Ben's was 5 stars but that changed tonight. We come here often. Several times a month. The food is always good. But tonight the service was the worst we have ever had. I asked for a water with lime and a straw. 3 times I had to ask. When he finally brought the lime and straw he tossed it, it felt like he was throwing it at me. We both had to repeat orders. Had a pretty big I don't give a shit attitude.

This is the cutest little local place. The service was great and the specials are great. We had a chicken sandwich and burger. Their beer selection is also great.

So much to choose from on the food and beverage menu! Craft beers... friendly staff. Very clean and well kept inside and outside. Seating is always available.

Found this place while in Savannah test driving a Tesla. Stopped in for a late lunch snack and a cold beer on a hot day in late June. Tiny little local beer bar with good draft selection and the Parmesan cheese fries were delicious. I did walk in during an argument between the waitress and I assume the manager. Kind of unprofessional, but I did go at a time when they probably were not expecting many customers. I would probably try it again if I have an occasion to be in the area. I bought the Tesla by the way. Great car!

Totally underrated business! I know this is not a conventionally family place but what can I say? I was craving a burger and had been shopping at the Asian grocery next door so in we went, divey feel or not! The service was EXCEPTIONAL! So friendly, so helpful and very accommodating. Honestly that alone had me sold but then the burgers came out.. I knew I had a winner! Their burgers are delicious even with nothing but then they take it to the next level with their omg burger. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water! Their onion rings are my favorite around. Their drink selection is vast and the prices are super affordable. It's a bit small inside but I've never had to wait too long for a table. Highly recommended! Try the omg burger!

What a great little hole in the wall. A huge amount of unique craft beers on tap. A massive selection of bottles n cans. Next the food. Starter was bacon wrapped scallops. Very nice! Crispy bacon, very nice flavor. I got the Ziggy Figgy burger. Whoah Nelly! Super tasty with the feta and fig jam! Fries were outstanding as well!

Ben's has always been a solid "go-to" for upgraded burgers - for example goat cheese & fig chutney, although I'm sure the plain burgers are great too, chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches. Essentially expect slightly elevated pub food in a cozy traditional style pub. Great selection of beers as well. Friendly staff. Can be crowded at times.

Food was amazing. My uncle and I had to abstain from food for some medical things happening that day until after 2:30. While we were waiting at the hospital we were looking at burger places planning our meal we were so hungry. Apparently long enough it got attention from other patients waiting so we passed the phone around and talked about how good the pictures looked. Needless to say we were so excited to go. When we got there the server was out front she headed in a head of us and told us to wait one moment. We waited at the front while she ran some food and cleaned our table. She sat us and we reached for beer menus as we had already decided what we wanted to eat. After a few she got over to us asked how we were doing and what we would like to drink. I cheerfully told her we were super excited because we were starving and had been looking over her menu all day. She proceeds to interrupt me with a very exaggerated head movement up and down and say yes that's why I'm asking you what you want to drink and then we can move on to the food order. Needless to say I was speechless which says a lot for me. I told her my beer kinda dazed trying not to lose my temper and I only mentioned the brewery not the specific beer which she responds which one I have over 300 beers with an attitude. I tell her and she walks away. If she would not have interrupted she would've learned that I just wanted to put our app order in with our drinks. Which is standard in alot of restaurants. If I would have returned that same attitude towards her we would've be thrown out and deemed the problem. I've been in food and beverage for 22 years. We got our apps pretty close to our food but still managed to demolish our apps so I really didn't care. The food is down right sinful. We waited for her to give us our check while she complained about whatever guy works there not stocking or doing his side work to new bartender I'm assuming was her relief. She finally came and grabbed my card and spent more time holding my receipt, card and pen while complaining to a regular about whoever this guy is not doing his job. My professional opinion don't sit outside smoking when you have dirty tables, be nice to your guest unless they are rude to you and it's tacky to talk shit about other employees even if it's to regulars. I've seen Ben's responses to shitty people's awful reviews. I want to be clear this place was great but her behavior was so rude it has me leaving a review days later and it's long as hell. FB isn't for everyone especially people that think it's ok to be rude to their guest and then want tipped. Which I did because it's against my religion not too but if anyone I've ever had serve me deserved it it would be her.

Great atmosphere. Delicious specialty burger and magnificent onion rings and salad. Perfect beer on tap. Good, prompt, friendly service. A real find -- needed GPS to find as we are out of towners.

Worst server ever! Completely rude! Never checked back with us to refill our drinks. . Stood at the bar chatting with bartender and bar customers the whole time. She had a hostile attitude when we arrived before the kitchen opened and it did not change when we returned an hour later. Burgers are good but won't ever go back. She left a really bad impression of the place on us. Hint: She was not the thin server.

Wow, what a difference since the last time I ate here about 15 years ago. You have to give a business credit for going strong for over 65 years. Today I enjoyed the OMG Burger with melty Gouda, mushrooms and grilled onions. This burger is served with an aioli that had a slightly sweet taste and the color appeared a mix of mayo, ketchup - possibly, with other spices. Pick a side of about 5 options. I decided on the Beer Battered onion rings which is an up charge side. I should have known better than order this bready onion ring option. I prefer thin and crispy. However, if Beer battered rings are your preference, I think you'll enjoy! The small menu features burgers, gyros, sandwiches, gyro, and wings. Kids menu available, too. During Covid an outdoor tent with additional seating is provided. The festive atmosphere of this pub is a result of the strings of colorful lights strung from the ceiling, international flags, flat screen TVs, and old nostalgic photos. Booths line the perimeter of this small restaurant with a high top 6 seater in the center. The warmth of the dark wood paneling and dim lighting creates a cozy feel. Full bar has a seating capacity of 5. A perfect game day spot for a small group.

Gives off the perfect small, local bar and grill you may feel is missing from Savannah if you are new to the area as I am. The restaurant is small but welcoming and relaxed. Good prices for good beer and good food. The service is even better.

In Savannah for three days on vacation, yelped burgers near my hotel and this came up. AMAZEBALLS. Food was amazing. I love burgers, could eat one a day. The OMG BURGER was Oh. MY. God. Told my husband we had to move to Savannah because I can't not eat this regularly (lol). Service was good, friendly. Place was busy and only one server, but she handled herself greatly. Ambiance was my jam. Small hole in the wall that does not disappoint. If you're in Savannah, do yourself a favor and stop here for an epic burger. Meant to take a pic, but by the time I remembered below is all that was left.

Have had a couple of "good not great" experiences here but a recent pickup order influenced my decision to give a somewhat generous one star review. This place has close to if not the most expensive pool food in town. I ordered a patty melt and a burger (both with fries) and some fried cheese sticks. As I arrived to pick up the food, I was presented with the check which showed a $6.75 "delivery charge" Upon asking the bartender about the delivery charge for an order that was clearly not delivered, she nervously retreated from the bar and asked another male bartender to discuss it with me. The male bartender approached me and said "What's up?" with an annoyed look on his face. I asked him about the delivery fee and he told me it was actually just a built-in 15% gratuity for to-go orders. So...if you order to-go you're forced to tip 15% and if you sit there and are waited on and have your drinks refilled you get to choose how much you tip....??? Cheese sticks were pretty much cold. The fries were soggy and apparently a rare delicacy based on how few were given with each burger. The burger and patty melt tasted fine at first but mine made me nauseous about half-way into it. We threw the rest away and swore to never go back. For a good burger, go to Green Truck. For at least a better burger than Ben's, Five Guys, Way-Back burgers, or pretty much anywhere else will do.

Ordered food to go, this spot was banging! Burger was fresh and cooked perfectly. They said they couldn't guarantee crispy fries with to go orders but my fries were still crispy. I had the California Dreamer Burger- guac, bacon and pepper jack cheese. Delicious!!! They also have bean burgers for those who don't want beef. My daughter ordered the Peach Chutney and Goat Cheese with a bean burger and she said it was the bomb with a SW flavor. Can't wait to visit in person!

Went at an off time 3:30 in the afternoon. Sat there for 40 mins and had no acknowledgment that we were even there. The group of locals in the middle of the room obviously was their focus. If you don't live near by don't bother. Food looks good but never got a chance to find out.

Smells like sewer when you walk in. Service was terrible. Staff more interested in visiting with friends than taking orders. Chicken Sandwich was good. Brought wrong drinks. Had to ask for silverware. Slammed check down on table when it was time to pay. Spend your money and time elsewhere.
