Met up with an old friend for a quick Vegas getaway, and the Bent Inn proved to be a great base. The people are uniformly friendly and professional, the vibe is warm and relaxed, and while the rooms may not be ultra luxurious, they're comfortable where it counts. The mattress, linens, and towels were are all excellent quality, and it was nice to have a pair of pool towels waiting on arrival.
A few things that I had't seen mentioned in other reviews stood out for me:
- The pub/lobby is open 24 hours, and at least a couple of our nights there it was as busy at 6:00 a.m. as it was at 9:00 p.m. Vegas really is a 24-hour city!
- Coffee is available 24/7 in the pub. I'm an early riser, and whoever was on night shift was happy to rustle up a fresh carafe as necessary.
- The food is surprisingly good--highly recommend the Shroomy Burger--and a great value.
- The pool is also open 24/7, which in the summer is a big plus--lovely to hop in at 6:00 a.m. or at the end of a long day at midnight. Even with daytime temps heading toward 110º, the water was the perfect temperature, cool and refreshing.
- The soundproofing appears to be very good; the hotel wasn't packed during our stay, but the room was quiet all night, and I heard no noise from the pool or pub.
The Bent Inn made for a fun change from the big Strip hotels. I liked the sleek, contemporary design, with the pulp-novel covers everywhere a neat touch. It was great to pop out the back gate and be right at the car, rather than traipsing a half-mile through a casino and garage. The place was spotlessly clean everywhere. And, of course, it was festive and homey to be in such a total LGBTQ+ environment. The TV was large and crystal-clear, with a wide variety of program options (although some gay-hotel regulars might be surprised that there are no adult options...).
If I could make any changes at all, it might be to have better bedside reading lamps (the existing ones are a decor touch rather than functional) and maybe add more hooks/storage options. There's a smallish dresser and minimal closet space, but even a few hooks would make keeping the room organized for a stay of more than one or two nights.
Breakfast is offered some days after 8:00 a.m.; if that doesn't work for you, there's a terrific coffee house, PublicUS, a block away that opens at 7:00 and has splendid breakfasts.
