A Popular Hotel Restaurant Is Rolling Out a Weekend Brunch | Eater Portland

"After closing its tasting room due to traffic congestion, Bent Shovel Brewing, an Oregon City brewery, has moved into a beer garden by leasing space at Viewpoint Restaurant and Lounge and will be open all through the winter while its owners look for a more permanent location." - Alex Frane

As others note, it is just a weekend beer garden and a couple small food vendors. No longer the full restaurant. But don't pass this up, if you find yourself out cruising this scenic road! We stopped on a Sunday afternoon: the atmosphere was lively yet relaxed; the beer was good (recommend the dark lager!); there were games; everyone was friendly. A great place to plan a pitstop or intentional time with friends.

Great casual experience. Very friendly staff. Good food and beverage. Fun atmosphere. Dog friendly. Met some great people and had a great time. We definitely recommend a visit.

We used to love this place, but the owner Rick was so rude to us on our last visit that we'll never be back. His attitude seemed to come naturally, so I'm sure other customers have experienced it too. The cherry on top of waiting 70 minutes for a pizza was Rick (probably intentionally) burning it. If you hate people, get out of the hospitality business. Shame because his wife Shelly is so nice.

Bent Shovel is a local brewery serving up amazing beer and legit pizza in the beer garden. Sit around the fire and have a chat with a stranger. Drink beer and linger.

I absolutely loved this place! Absolutely would recommend. It's a wonderful price for a home cooked meal. Food was DELICIOUS and super filling. I got a burger that was phenomenal and my partner for an omelette that was so very filling. On top of that the staff and environment there is wo warming and welcoming. Full of regular customers and a family feeling. To go above and beyond my waitress even offered to pack my ice cream specially so it wouldn't melt on my long drive home. I felt so welcomed and loved. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend eating here!

This beer garden is tempting to pull into, do it! The beer is great the people are friendly and the view is insane. Very relaxing spot to enjoy a pint after a hike or fishing.

OH My Goodness!!!! The 10th Anniversary Event!!! The tiny booths! (Yea....I spent money) All the kiddos! We sat next to the icepop cooler free for the kiddos/helped to use the cutters, if needed. Happy People! Well Behaved Pups. Great Brews! Awesome DJ!!!! I will NOT speak of the most delicious brisket, pulled pork and Ribs (brought a rack of those home!) The sweet girls behind the counter ❤️ 2nd Visit. NOT THE LAST. More than 5 stars. Outdoor, Campfire Smell! Oh Holy!
