"There are few things more comforting than a bowl of steaming rice after a long night out, especially the dishes served at this intimate spot with a sushi bar, high top tables, and artful graffiti. The creative sushi bowls include the California, which is a play on the crowd favorite maki roll, but other rice toppings include unagi and Japanese-style fried chicken." - Beth Landman

"Manhattan newcomer Bentos opened its doors last month with a menu of onigiri and leaf- and tofu-wrapped sushi rolls, most priced between $15 to $20 for eight pieces." - Luke Fortney

Takeout review: Easy and simple to order, good selection of items with a core set of ingredients. The take out packaging was beautiful and held the food in place, keeping it neat and tidy. The bentos was simple, yet creative and had a nice toned down flavor. I usually don’t get full from eating sushi but since the ratio of rice to fish leaned heavy on the carbs, it was a filling meal. Overall tasty and unique, but for me personally, I’d like a better ratio of rice and fish, but can’t really complain as the price was reasonable.

Cute little place in the Nomad area. I got the mixed sushi bowl and it was honestly delicious and so healthy. They don’t skip out on the fish at all! The fish is fresh, the sushi rice is delicious, and the toppings bring it home. Great for a quick lunch!

Tried their restaurant week special and MY OH MY was it indeed a special!! this was such a hit during restaurant week that it has now become a permanent menu item called "The Bentos Set" for $20 - such a steal. the sushi pieces here aren't your typical sushi pieces. they're actually box pressed sushi, also known as oshi sushi. the set comes with... - miso soup - 5 pieces of their special futomaki cut roll (vegetarian with cute pink rice) - 2 pieces of their tuna jalapeno koji (the tuna was fatty and delicious) - 2 pieces of their spicy kanpachi with yuzu kosho (this was my FAVE!! kanpachi is one of my fave fish, yuzu is my fave citrus, and the brightness + light acidity of the yuzu paired with a spicy zing on top of a slightly fatty and sweet kanpachi was just. divine.) - 2 pieces of their salmon ikura definitely come by if you're a sushi lover like me and support this local restaurant!

Bentos is a good addition to the neighborhood of my husband’s office since we are so into Japanese cuisine. We did a take out order via Seamless for their time limited restaurant week offer. The plating was delicate, colorful and we were hesitant to destroy it for a second. We were surprised that the chef used different types of rice for every sushi to make the flavor more balanced. However, it was a good but not the best deal since the cutting of raw fish was super thin.

Got this "Local Fish" chirashi from "Bentos" So many different fish types are in one plate. I get to have fresh local ingredient in my hand! Fresh Fresh Fresh local vegetable they use, very nice people and service. Definitely worth for the price!

I ordered the Bentos set to be delivered. It was delivered almost on time. The bento looked so beautiful and l was reluctant to eat 😅 the sushi is so flavorful and the fishes are fresh and tasty. I'll buy it again. It comes with a miso soup and this was also so good.

I got a Saba Mackerel bowl to go, it took about 5 minutes to prepare and it was really fresh and tasty! Very good ingredients.
