The Best Honduran Restaurants in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"It’s been more than a decade since Beraca opened its family-friendly doors, a haven of familiar flavors and aromas for Hondurans missing a taste of home. Watch the women stretching dough for tortillas through a window into the kitchen as friends and families attack giant plates of pescado frito, a fried whole redfish served with rice and refried beans, salad, sweet plantains, and a tangle of pickled jalapenos, carrots, and onions." - Beth D’Addono

Google
It was fresh, and tasted delicious! Definitely a awesome lunch spot to put in rotation. I usually give a little more detail but it was a in and out experience. Didn't take to long to get my food and I ate it on the go. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area

Google
Beraca Restaurant has been here for 22 years... Food is remarkable good, their prices unbeatable. Costumer service at its best!

Google
This place isn’t a main stream restaurant but instead a nice clean hole in the wall, and we all know mom and pop hole in the walls know how to THROW DOWN!! The food was absolutely amazing!! Everything was fresh and the meat was tinder: if you order an appetizer that’ll be all you need because they’re just as big as the entrees!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Yelp
This is my mom's favorite Hondorian place. We've been coming here for years. The service is so sweet as we try to battle the language barrier but over the years they've gotten pictures so it helps with the service. They have cute booths a big TV in the back to catch whatever is going on Come with the empty belly and a big heart and you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Pollo a la plancha always my favorite go to ! Call ahead for quick pick up .Comes with rice , beans, lettuce tomato. Choice of tortillas or tajadas.

Yelp
Good food, nice service, and accommodating staff despite my limited Spanish. Not a bad place to bring children, they enjoyed it. Beans are great, shrimp was nice, corn tortillas top notch, and the enchiladas were heavenly. Will return.

Yelp
Food is absolutely delicious. People are friendly. The menu is mostly in Spanish but pretty easy to figure out. The portions are enough for 2 people. Lots of music and super clean. Will be back!

Yelp
The restaurant is tucked away in a little shopping area in Fat City. Our server was super friendly and helpful. No one spoke English. I still understood what the server was asking. It was pretty easy to order. The Pastelitos were very tasty! I loved the Tacos Fritos. Plaintains were good. They had soccer on the tv. The place was clean. We had a great experience.

Yelp
This hole in a strip mall restaurant is amazing. The food was inexpensive, delicious and plentiful. I highly recommend it. We brought our own bottle of wine with us to make this lunch even more special. (They don't sell alcohol). I highly recommend. We had the filite de pescado and fajitas de res. So yummy!

Yelp
Please clean your fish before cook, the kitchen needs a deep cleaning Hoods, flat grill, fryers ,grill need deep cleaning, ceiling tile have damages and stains, I don't think health department will like to see all of this just an observation.

Yelp
SO much food and SO affordable. I ate the fried chicken dinner (most popular dish) and it was delicious. Crispy chicken, crunchy slaw and the sauce and plantains on top brought all the flavors together. I've never had Honduran food so I can't speak to the authenticity but my taste buds were happy (muy feliz). Both my boyfriend and I had to take home leftovers. Service was good and the server was very pleasant. We will be back!

Yelp
Being from Honduras I have to say this is the closest to what eating out over there tastes like. The food is very authentic and affordable. The service can be slow but with a smile! The ladies are all very sweet and caring. I don't think any of them speak English though. It's a hole a in a wall type place in a not so fancy part of phat city but it's worth it! Yummy!

Yelp
The food and service is decent. They burnt the two fried fish to the point it tasted like chicharon.... we-made sure to Ask them not to burn it but they still did.

Yelp
Great flavor, good value for your money. Enjoyed everything i ordered. Helps to know a little spanish.

Yelp
Their Baleadas are the size of my forearm, no joke! (I'm 5'5") They're cheap too! They're $3.50 each. Not a bad price considering it fills you up:) I can barely finish a while one. When I was pregnant I devoured these, 2 at a time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Yelp
You get so much for your buck. Quantity is definitely not going to disappoint. They have breakfast all day and their side orders are as big as the entree. I went for the baleadas and they were so good. The cream, cheese and avocado where so fresh. The restaurant itself is not very nice or new, and their service was not very timely but the prices are worth it.

Amber R.

Yelp
Disappointed with the food and service they have in there, my tacos were to salty and the soup tasted like it was from a week ago. Never ever coming again and the waitress was way too lazy and did not even care when we complained about the disgusting food.

Yelp
Yes. Do it. Go here. It is the best thing you will do for your soul this week. Nom nom nom. And then nom at home again because they gave you so much food. Also there is WiFi and it's fast.

Yelp
The food is good but I feel like I've been to better Karin American restaurant that have better flavor for the food.

Yelp
I don't speak any Spanish and I was able to order just fine. The plantains are the best I've had since moving from Dallas. The taquitos also come highly recommended. And the cokes are the huge bottles made with actual cane sugar. Super affordable, relaxed informal atmosphere, and hard to find.

Yelp
This place is very authentic and the food is very good. The portions are very generous! I inhaled the food very fast but I would have taken a picture of the delicious food.
