Clapham’s Best Restaurants | Where to Eat in Clapham, South London | Eater London

"Italian brothers Salvatore and Matteo Aloe opened a pizzeria called Radio Alice in Hoxton in 2016, having found investment from food giants the Azzurri Group. There are now 16 sites worldwide, but under the original Berberè brand, established in 2010, with just one remaining in London, here in Clapham. Its no-frills approach simply marries chewy, blistered bases — not quite traditionally Neapolitan, but not Roman either — with San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala, and the likes of Amalfi coast anchovies and Calabrian ‘nduja. Berberè somehow manages to be extremely Italian and yet wonderfully irreverent." - Josh Barrie

Tasty pizza with good topping options. Cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. The diavola picante was pretty good with a good level of spice. The food came quickly and black pepper and chili oil is offered with the pizza. Kid friendly with a kids menu. There is service charge and an eat in charge added to the bill.

Once again Berberè delivers on quality, service and friendliness of staff. On a tricky night (Berbere’s birthday with loads of people queueing for a free pizza) the staff were super busy yet attentive and made me feel valued. Big shout to chef Cristiano and Mario for the good banter and for showing me how a great pizza is made. I’m a regular and will keep going back to their Clapham and TCR joints.

I had one of the worst dining experiences ever at this pizzaria. They seem to give absolute priority to takeaway orders, completely ignoring the customers who are actually sitting inside. I ended up waiting ages for a pizza that should have taken a fraction of the time. And honestly, the wait wasn’t worth it. The pizza arrived swimming in oil and fat, completely tasteless, and easily the worst pizza I’ve ever had. The ambience doesn’t help either, packed, noisy, and with barely any space to move. To make it worse, they offer very limited flavor options, none of which seem worth trying after this experience. Save your time, your money, and your appetite. There are far better places out there.

Sadly this wasn’t a great pizza or experience. We were forgotten outside and the service was pretty poor, we had to keep going in to ask to order food. Sadly the dough was pretty bad too, the honey doughball all was thin and airy… and barely had honey on it.

1 of the best pizza in town. The parmigiana is my favourite one, sprinkled w authentic ricotta salata and fresh basil leaves on top. Try the montanarina as a starter. The pizzeria is located in front of a vintage cinema, in a old fashion little street, full of trees and good vibe. Andres is the perfect host, always smiling even in the rush hour. Love it!

I went a month ago' for a dinner after work, I heard from my colleague who said that "this pizza place in Clapham is the best" so I was so curious... Actually it is ... it's mix between Romana and Napolitana is really rare to find in london. Do you want to know about Tiramisu?? Omg you need to try ... Soooo delicious. The tiramisu was offer by the manager and I really appreciated . The server Paolo was really friendly. Thank you 💫

Good value for money. My favourite is the sausage and cheese pizza. Also have had the chicken salad and that was basic but tasty. Have ordered online and also good. Went once on a Saturday night though when they were very busy and pizzas were a bit cold. They can get quite busy and service can be slow, but staff always very friendly and it’s a nice vibe.

First time trying Berbere and eating sourdough pizza, wasn't disappointed. Fresh pizzas made quickly, and delicious toppings. We had the Diavola Piccante, the one with salami with my favourite Nduja, it packs a punch, definitely a kick and no chilli oil needed. The Salsiccia is very meaty and also nice. We finished a pizza each and was about right, I saw some people taking a slice or two home.
